Restaurant Seeberg in Bayrischzell

The fact that the room in the main building was showing its age and the price was quite high was fine with us, as we always felt comfortable there. However, upon arrival, I wiped the toilet seat with a damp cloth, which then turned yellow. And the worst part was: My 3-year-old daughter was playing on the balcony when my husband noticed from below that the boards of the balcony railing looked very loose. When I gently pressed against it with my hand to check, the board simply fell outward. If my daughter had leaned on this board (as she did with the ones next to it), she would have simply fallen from the 3rd floor! When I explained this to the lady at reception (who seemed like the boss to me), still shocked at what could have happened, she unfortunately didn't take it seriously at all. There was no apology or anything like, "Oh dear, it's a good thing nothing happened." Half a day later, someone from the hotel finally came to take a look. He then added, "In such an old building, that's something that can happen." I was shocked at how casually the hotel guests' safety was handled. Many other areas of the hotel/restaurant are new or recently renovated—but safety should really be the top priority. When I explained everything again to a young woman at checkout and how disappointed I was by the reaction of the presumably owner, at least she sincerely apologized and gave us a €30 discount on the room rate. Unfortunately, the bitter aftertaste lingered to this day, which is why I decided to write this review after all.

A decent innkeeper with a small menu right on the street... Self-service and return of dishes by the customer... Good beer, solid fried herring sandwiches, and a friendly innkeeper... For me: just right...

An extraordinary place with equally exceptional food. This is sensational in Bayrischzell, a place where, unfortunately, more and more businesses are closing and nothing new is coming along. Sigi is an incredibly good host and caterer whose food, his passion for culinary arts, and his ambition I can only recommend to everyone. P.S. Vegetarians should probably mention this explicitly beforehand, but even then, the food is delicious 😍😍😍 ;)

Great food, lovely atmosphere and very friendly team!

We parked a little further down on the campsite and got a gigantic takeaway meal. The waitress/landlady (?) gets a bonus stone, as everyone wants to be so friendly and welcoming.
