Restaurant Sedir in Konstanz

We used to come here several times every week when the pasta pot still cost 8.90. Now the price has been raised to 12.90, but the food is significantly worse, the portion is smaller and there is no longer a free side salad like it used to be... The service is ok but anything but good. When I pointed out that we weren't satisfied, they didn't respond any further and instead ignored it. Where is the great staff from before the renovation who always had an open ear and even brought an ouzo at the end... The logo is now beautifully emblazoned on the counter, but the shop is now run with the same care as it was installed (one number is simply upside down😂). If you want to have a good and inexpensive Turkish meal in Konstanz, you should stop by Defne!!!

Catastrophe! Noodles were inedible because the frozen vegetables turned into water noodle soup, very disgusting!

The Sedir was always a must when I was in Konstanz. The place is cozy, especially in the afternoon. Unfortunately, the quality has declined, but the prices have risen extremely. 12.90 euros for a plate of overcooked pasta with tomato paste, sausage and grated cheese, which cost less than 10 a year or two ago. Well, you can look at it however you want, for me it's the end of an era...

An institution for a long time, delicious Turkish food. I love the noodles with susuk and yogurt sauce.

Unfortunately the food was just not good, it tasted warmed up, everything had the same sauce, some of it was definitely frozen vegetables, cheap but not for what you got!

The food is simple, standard, tastes ok, without any negative or positive surprises. The owner changed in 2024. The quality remained stable. So does the nice, simple and authentic ambience. The new menus seem cheap, at the level of a snack bar, but we are talking about a restaurant with even higher prices and manageable portions, e.g. the Sac dishes. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the price/performance ratio is no longer right here. It's no longer difficult to eat out in Konstanz with better quality food for the same budget. The long-standing service is super nice. The new owner was also sneaking around on my last two visits. I found him intrusive both times. All in all, I have to say that I won't be going there any time soon, but I will really miss the long-standing, friendly waiter who I always mistakenly thought was the boss.

Hòla friends of Turkish-Arabic specialties. Although the name of this establishment suggests that you are more likely to get an inhalation anesthetic instead of dinner, let me tell you: This restaurant offers the highest quality Turkish cuisine we have ever tasted. Perfect dough, the seasoning on point, good meat and even vegetarians get their money's worth. But of course this quality has its price. However, the portions could have been a little larger. Particularly recommended: Börek. The service is super friendly and up for little jokes. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very cozy and appropriate.

Great Börek. Delicious for decades.

Unfortunately, this restaurant doesn't even deserve one star. The food wasn't tasty at all, the nuggets we ordered were burnt and the vegetables in the salad were very fermented and didn't taste like fresh vegetables at all. The portions are very small for the price. After the visit we all had stomach aches. We will never eat there again and don't recommend visiting!

Spontaneous dinner on August 20th, well attended outdoor area. I visit the restaurant once or twice a year. Super fast, friendly service. The atmosphere is nicer in winter. My standard meal, kebab plate, gets smaller and more expensive every year. This time it's a mini portion of meat! However, the quality has not worsened but has continued to improve. Only suitable for men with an appetizer to fill them up. Delicate for normal eaters. Thanks

We were last in this restaurant in July 24th. We were more than shocked by the price increase yesterday. There is a new menu, the dishes have remained the same, but with a significant price increase of about 30%! The service is friendly as usual and the ambience is as usual. The food tasted very good as always. There's nothing wrong with that. Of course, we understand the need for a certain adjustment, but unfortunately such a drastic increase is no longer possible for us.

“Potatoes” are new to me, but they taste like normal potatoes😂😂. Ordered whiskey-cola, only got whiskey. No Red Bull available. Straw too small for the glasses. Unfortunately, wine tastes cheap. Shooting with water spray guns is prohibited. Homemade lemonade is non-carbonated. I had to wait a little longer for the food. Door frame too small for people over 185cm (I take the restaurant into account because the house was built in front of the restaurant). Very, very nice, friendly, cool staff. If you order food, then no matter what, everything is okay but not amazing.

the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is nice... but the increase in the prices is unbelievable. since i last came (which was a month and a half ago), the prices have gone up significantly. if the service we received matched these prices, it wouldn’t be an issue. unfortunately, the kebab I ordered was super dry and probably not even fresh. there is a noticeable decline in quality compared to a few months ago, which is disappointing. i hope necessary measures are taken.

Conclusion: Inexpensive and delicious! We weren't noticed by the service at first, but after 10 minutes of waiting and hand signals, a service employee quickly came to us. Apologies were made several times, but it was also busy. There is a wide selection of food where everyone can find something. The food was very tasty, portions were very good and the prices were more than reasonable. Any time! Thanks!

Unfortunately, the prices for the same food and drink have increased so much that we won't be going there anymore. It was always a student bar and the price-performance ratio was always great. But the same meal for suddenly so much more money is unfortunately no longer suitable. It was a shame, it was actually a cool location.

Unfortunately nothing special for me. The food, especially the noodles, are very tasteless. Food very greasy and waiters very inattentive. I think there are much better restaurants in Konstanz.

I'm in Konstanz about once a year and a visit to this restaurant is always part of the program. Very good food in a pleasant atmosphere, highly recommended even with small children!

We stopped here for lunch and were thoroughly disappointed. We ordered a Margherita pizza and chicken nuggets for the kids. The pizza was dry with burned cheese. The chicken nuggets were old, dry, and dark brown in color. The French fries were an unappetizing dark orange. The stuffed eggplant dish was a major letdown; it wasn’t stuffed, just sprinkled with marinara sauce from a jar and some ground beef that was merely browned, with no salt or spices added. It was terrible. The Borek III dish should have a minced beef which I did not find as well as tomato sauce - it was plain without any salt or spices, at least it seemed freshly cooked! The appetizer included old olives that looked like raisins. The side salad had fresh tomatoes that tasted fermented, as if they had been cut a long time ago. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

Great ambience, clean, friendly service - sensationally delicious food! The food was aromatic and surprised me more than just positively. I was there with a baby and a stroller and in addition to my wonderful pan, the baby's glass was also warmed up. The first visit to a restaurant with a toddler was such a complete success - also for the palate :-)

Preise waren sehr hoch und das Essen qualitativ schlecht , die Pizza war halb roh und der Salat überteuert, klein und schlecht. Schade , das war vor Jahren anders und wir sind gerne hingegangen , zumal man in der Hofhalde sehr schön draussen sitzen kann .

A veteran in Konstanz, beautifully central, not far from the cathedral. I was last there next door 5-6 ago and was very impressed. The food is still very good. As a starter, a small salad was served with incredibly delicious yeast dough rolls. My moussaka was also very tasty but also different from what you would expect from the Greeks. Another roll was served, but unfortunately it was a bit too cold and wet as it had probably just been thawed.

The little overly acidic salad for €6.50 is a disgrace. Pogaca was almost not full. You almost only eat dough. 2 years ago it was still good and cheap here. We old people from Konstanz don't come anymore.

Geschmacklich war es sehr gut. Preislich auch völlig in Ordnung . Servicekräfte auch sehr nett. Wir hatten heute einfach einen ungünstigen Tag erwischt. Draußen waren die Faschingsumzüge und alle paar Minuten kam jemand rein um auf die Toilette zu gehen… das fanden wir ziemlich nervig. Haben die Toilette dann auch nicht mehr benutzt weil sie dementsprechend halt auch ausgesehen hat. Vielleicht sollte man da etwas drauf achten. Wir kommen dennoch sehr gerne wieder .

Ich war während meines Studiums vor fast 30 Jahren oft im Sedir. Heute seit vielen vielen Jahren wieder einmal bei einem Ausflug nach Konstanz. Essen war lecker...wie damals auch.... Preis-Leistung stimmt und der Service war super freundlich...

Super leckeres Essen, nette Bedienung und immer wieder eine Freude für uns, hier zu essen.

Das Essen ist noch so lecker wie vor 30 Jahren zu meiner Studentenzeit. Gute, schmackhafte Küche mit Nudeltopf, leckerem frisch gebackenem Brot, Lacmacun und Börek, mega lecker und preiswert! Und auch der Service ist schnell und freundlich.

Absolut landestypisches Türkisches Restaurant mit grosser Karte und sehr leckeren sowie ganz frischen Gerichten. Das Restaurant war sehr gut besucht und während unseres Besuches wechselten die Gäste, was darauf schliessen liess, dass es allgemein eine sehr grosse Zufriedenheit gab. Der Seevice war sehr kommunikativ und empfahl auf Nachfrage gerne und sehr gut erklärend die jeweiligen Unterschiede bei den nachgefragten Gerichten.

Der Service in dem Laden ist sehr gut, aber das Essen hat uns nicht zugesagt. Ich muss dazu sagen, das wir auch nur einen Dönerteller und Zigarra Bäreks hatten. Der Dönerteller war ganz schön angerichtet, aber ich hab noch nie so ein eigenartiges Dönerfleisch gegessen. Der Reis war auch einfach nur Reis und Salat und Soße waren irgendwie auch nichts. Die Böreks waren ganz okay.

Der Service war top und das Essen kam nach der Bestellung auch schnell an. Super Qualität und ein vorzügliches Geschmackserlebnis. Update Sommer 2023 Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr unfreundlich geworden.

Rustikales Ambiente, nette Bedienung. Die Kleidung riecht nach einem Besuch stark nach Frittierfett. Bestellt haben wir Dolma, einen Spinatbörek, Mucver und eine Gemüsepizza. Der Börek bestand aus einer dicken, Teigmasse, in der sich Goudakäse befand, der ungleich verteilt war. Das Gericht war insgesamt sehr fade und geschmacklos. Die Gemüsepizza war voll belegt mit Karotten, was Wir speziell fanden. Insgesamt hatten wir nicht den Eindruck, dass es sich um eine authentische türkische Küche handelt.

Wir haben 40 Minuten gewartet! Als das Essen endlich kam, war es kalt, das Dönerfleisch trocken und abgestanden. Ich hatte bei der Aufgabe der Bestellung extra nachgefragt, ob der Döner aus Hackfleisch wäre (bekanntermassen ist die Qualität dort nicht so gut). Das wurde verneint, darum hatte ich überhaupt dieses Gericht bestellt. Der gelieferte Döner war aber aus Hackfleisch. Das war jetzt wirklich die schlechteste Erfahrung, die ich in einem Restaurant gemacht habe. Schlechtes Essen, schlechte Bedienung. Ich kann nur abraten, dort einzukehren.

I went to this restaurant with some friends on August 12th. First they gave us the menu in German language, but not understanding German we asked for the menu in English language. They gave us 5 menu, one with the hidden prices and 4 with the prices showed. when we paid we noticed that in the receipt the prices of each dish were much higher than those seen by us. we asked for explanations and were told that the ones on the English menu were the old prices. Comparing the menus, the one in German had the updated prices, the one in English much lower prices. We complained that this was not serious behaviour. They couldn't show a price and charge an higher price with the excuse that "they didn't have time to change them". I told them that we were entitled to pay the price seen on the menu. Not only they didn't give us back part of the money spent, but they didn't even apologize. Actually they were very rude. I'm afraid they do the same thing with foreign tourists who don't know German and who obviously ask for the English menu. they show lower prices, but charge higher prices. It’s a horrible, shameful trick. We were just cheated.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden… mit Kleinkind unterwegs… vom Spielplatz direkt in den Kinderstuhl und mit der freundliche Bitte das Essen für unseren kleinen hungrigen Abenteurer schnell zu bringen, wars in 2 Minuten da! Und unser Essen dann kurze Zeit später. Simple, aber vorhandene Wickelmöglichkeit ebenfalls genutzt. 🙂

Die Preise der Speisekarte auf der Website sind nicht aktuell, bei unserer Bestellung to go war das sehr irreführend. Ansonsten sag das Restaurant sehr einladend aus und das Essen war sehr lecker. Also klare Empfehlung.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker und preislich auch okay obwohl die Portionen in den letzten 3 Jahren kleiner geworden sind. Es ist sehr schön draußen zu sitzen bei gutem Wetter aber auch die Räumlichkeiten sind sehr schön. Hier macht es auch Sinn zu reservieren weil es in den kälteren Monaten voll werden kann.

Ich esse hier einmal im Jahr und finde, die letzten Jahre war das Essen leckerer und der Service zugewandter. Hoffentlich gibt sich das wieder.

Best restaurant in Konstanz 👌 I would eat here every day if I could

Geen plek voor een kleine lunch, het is allemaal vrij veel. De bediening is vriendelijk en snel, heeft ook de kaart in het Engels. Het eten was minder. De saus overheerste zowel de salade als de noedels, en dat vonden we jammer.

Börek war etwas roh. Absacker (Uzo) mussten wir zahlen trotz grosser Runde. Beilagensalat nur noch im Winter zum Menü. Dafür sind die preise nicht mehr gerechtfertigt.

We live in England but used to live in Konstanz, Sedir has always been our favourite restaurant and we always visit when we are here. The food is always delicious and the staff are always friendly. We celebrated a family birthday here last week, it was really lovely and Sedir looked after us all really well. Thanks Sedir!

Called in here by chance for lunch. Lovely location on a pretty square. We were a large group and hadn’t booked but the owner immediately started reorganising tables and seating to accommodate us. Lovely fresh food, huge portions, and very good value. Efficient and friendly service, nothing was too much trouble. Very glad we chose to eat here

Lovely setting on a square. Relaxed atmosphere. Food was not great- had been prepared and heated up possibly. Salads had too much sauce etc On the other hand it is very good value
