The food was good, but the service and the waiter's comments were incredibly rude; he made fun of his guests. If he's as smart as he pretends to be, I wonder why he didn't become a high school teacher; he was only good enough to be a waiter.

The food was quite good, although the butter gave the pork a rancid taste, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. What really stood out, however, was the service. I have never met anyone so rude and yet so confident in their right to take my money. He spoke to everyone except the regulars with pure contempt and an attitude that made me question why he had ever chosen to work in the hospitality industry.

This man has a disgusting way of speaking to and treating guests! And loudly criticizing guests who arrive and ask for a table is completely unacceptable! He should change jobs.

The ambiance and food deserve a good five stars. Those who enjoy rude service will certainly give it more. I used to like the place, but after our experiences the last two visits and witnessing how guests were treated, I have to deduct points for the staff.

We had a wonderful team evening and would love to come back. Friendly and fun service and wonderful food.

Neubrandenburg has changed a lot. That's why I moved away. But the Schweinestall (Pigsty) has stayed the same! Fabulous food! Great service! Everything's perfect here! If you're ever in Neubrandenburg, eat at the Schweinestall! You always get the same quality. PS: I've noticed the attitude of some of the guests. After over 15 years in the restaurant business, I want to say one thing! The people who work here aren't your slaves! Respect and decency should always be the norm. The guests should feel comfortable. That's what it's all about. But the staff should also feel comfortable at work! And personally, I'd gladly forgo the money from some of the guests. There are no second-class customers here! Just something to keep in mind.

I was here in September for my birthday, and it was simply a wonderful evening. The atmosphere was just right, fitting in perfectly with Neubrandenburg and its rural surroundings, and the food was delicious. The best part was our waiter; he was amazing, always ready with a cheeky joke. Keep up the good work, you're fantastic.

I can't understand the bad reviews at all! Quite the opposite. A super cozy atmosphere with attentive, friendly staff and more than delicious food. After a friendly welcome, the friendly staff escorts you to a table. The menu offers something for every taste, from pork to beef, turkey to vegetarian dishes. After a short wait, the food arrived beautifully presented. The steak plate consisted of pork medallion, beef steak, and turkey steak garnished with a herb butter rose, along with peas with hollandaise sauce and potato croquettes. A small carrot salad rounded out the lovingly garnished plate. The beef steak was cooked to perfection, medium-rare, as ordered. Juicy and buttery, it was a delight. The pork medallion was also very tender and delicious. The turkey steak couldn't be better prepared. Golden brown and still juicy. The peas with hollandaise sauce were firm to the bite and not too soft. The croquettes were also very tasty. The portions are just right. You'll eat until you're full, and you'll enjoy it. The friendly staff and the kitchen definitely deserve a tip. I can only recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good food at a fair price. A return visit guaranteed!

The food has deteriorated considerably. No one at the table was truly full after their main course! That was a change and therefore absolutely disappointing (although the price could be raised considerably). The service was excellent.

You feel really comfortable in the pigpen; the staff are super friendly and often have lighthearted and witty remarks. We always enjoy going to the pigpen when we're in Neubrandenburg. You get your fill and are well looked after.

We were here for lunch today with five people. The name takes some getting used to, but the ambiance is antique, agrarian, but very pleasant. A friendly welcome at the beginning, and the table reservation worked out very well. Service was friendly and quick. The menu is very interesting and regional. The food arrived quickly, was nicely presented, and very tasty. We'd be happy to come back.

We highly recommend this fantastic restaurant. First of all, we'd like to mention the incredibly cool waiter, who apparently has a super memory. We were in the restaurant with nine people on November 3, 2022. To our amazement, the waiter took our drink order without a piece of paper or a tablet. We were already curious to see if everything would work out. And... everything came as we ordered. Then it was time for the food orders. Again, everything was taken down without any notes, including, of course, special requests and changes. Then the food arrived. Everyone got what they ordered. Awesome!!! And the good man always had a lighthearted joke on his lips. I love people like that who aren't so boring and stubborn about their job. Well, what can I say, the food was absolutely amazing. The quantity was sufficient and fresh, and the meat was also cooked to perfection. There was also dessert, even though we were all already quite full. Once again, a symphony of flavors. Hello. If you like good German dishes (from the GDR era), this is the place for you. The food was very tasty. I could hardly decide. If I'm in Neubrandenburg again, I'll definitely eat there. The decor is rustic. The toilets are cool. I haven't seen anything like that before. Everything clean. We were there on Sunday. Lunch. You should make a reservation. I can't say what it's like in the evening. That's it.

We had a lovely evening with 6 people, Kay served us entertainingly and courteously, the atmosphere is rustic and cozy. There is an extensive menu, I ate an omelet with asparagus, very delicious and recommended.

We spontaneously stopped here for dinner after 6 p.m. today, April 8, 2025. Very inconspicuous on the outside but really nicely furnished on the inside. Great, nice, friendly service, could have been the boss. We noticed well-filled plates at the neighboring tables. As expected, our order came lovingly prepared and it was simply delicious, a feast for the taste buds. We as a family really enjoyed it. Lots of attention to detail. Among other things, my wife reports that in the women's toilet you walk on glass plates and there is straw underneath. We'll come back when we're busy in Neubrandenburg. VG and please try it out. We weren't disappointed.

Although the restaurant was full of concert-goers who wanted to fortify themselves before the concert, the team did everything possible to find space for us and despite the hustle and bustle, everyone was friendly. That would be reason enough for me to come back... Of course the food was also really tasty. Gladly again... :-)

Everything best comes together in the pigsty. A well thought-out concept with attention to detail, first-class cuisine, and a great, attentive service team with a fresh, cool sense of humor, just like it is in the north. And anyone who doesn't understand Homur has to go to the basement to laugh.

We have been customers at the Pig Stable for years. The food tastes great, the service is great and the waiter always has a funny saying. The atmosphere is rustic.

The pigsty is simply unique. We are practically regular customers and it always tastes good to very good! The service is impeccable and, like the restaurant, unique. Anyone who can't cope with the style and humor won't come back. Not a restaurant that is trimmed to line :)

The food in the pigsty is very tasty and the atmosphere is very pleasant. But…. It may be that the boss is always joking, as I have repeatedly read here, but unfortunately he is only friendly to his regular guests. He is not only unfriendly to all the other guests, but also incredibly disrespectful. No “please”, no “thank you”, no answer or reaction to requests (and this does not mean special requests) or comments. But he's big on expressing what he can't stand, like raising your index finger when you place an order... In an almost snotty manner he points out that this is nonsense. Maybe, but the sound makes the music. This man obviously has the wrong job. He is annoyed by guests. We also observed this with other guests who were treated in the same condescending manner. We, who often vacation in Neubrandenburg, will definitely not go to this restaurant again.

Simply unfriendly. We wanted to spontaneously go out for dinner yesterday. Called beforehand and no one answered so we set off. When we got there we asked for a table and the waiter said "no, definitely not" and just kept walking. I can understand if it's stressful, but you should take the friendliness and 5 seconds of time. We will never go there again after this experience.

In stress, she spilled the mulled wine we ordered over our table and blamed one of our guests for it, didn't even apologize for it and, to make matters worse, even charged for the mulled wine twice, even though we didn't ask for a new one. Absolutely not recommended. Everyone has a bad day...but taking it out on a customer/guest is below the belt. NEVER AGAIN

I was just there and wanted to buy a voucher, but it was denied to me because the waiter didn't have time for it. The customer in front of me was also loudly asked to leave because there was no free table. This shop really deserves the name Pigsty.

Haven't been to the pigsty for a long time. Afterwards we asked ourselves; why actually? Despite the house being fully booked, we received a warm welcome. The operator was in a great mood, took his time and made jokes despite the store being full. The food was impeccable and simply delicious. We'll be with you more often now.

Full marks. We came on a Friday without a reservation and got a place for 5 people. Food was great, the waiter was relaxed and smug and the toilet is quite special.

Great restaurant that was designed with a lot of love - just great. The food tasted great. My husband had the men's plate with fried potatoes and I had the "Peach" schnitzel topped with bacon, peach, pepperoni and sweet chili with cheese gratin. It was the purest culinary delight for me. The slight spiciness and then the sweetness of the peach were perfectly balanced. A big compliment to the kitchen and the very friendly service. We are already looking forward to the next visit.

I spent a fun and delicious evening here with my colleagues. The service was very attentive and had one or two quick sayings on their lips. We all enjoyed the food very much and came to the table hot.

The food was very good, the atmosphere was good, but the service (it was a middle-aged gentleman) didn't work. He seemed annoyed and threw the menus at us in an unfriendly manner. We wanted to help him with the drinks when we were rudely told that we shouldn't do it. We were there last time.

Was here today for the first and certainly last time. Unfortunately our original destination was closed, so we spontaneously ended up in the pigsty. We had a children's meal, a steak and pasta. The children's meal was an absolute failure and consisted of half a plate of peas, fries and a pressed schnitzel. Considering that the restaurant advertises a lot of “smut,” it is a disgrace to serve such a schnitzel. According to my companion, the noodles (turkey pan) were quite good. My steak was ok, although the seasoned meat was definitely not fresh or homemade. I also had half a plate full of peas, garnished with hollandaise from the bag. So kind of disappointing and not worth a second visit. The prices are weird. It's surprising that a schnitzel with mushrooms can be had for the same price as a pork fillet with pepper sauce or medallions or steak au four or turkey pan or or or. Maybe the prices were thrown out at some point, but that has nothing to do with calculation. In our opinion, the service was rude and didn't make us feel welcome. Humorous sarcasm only works on good days. And unfortunately everyone has a bad one sometimes.

The food was very tasty, the kitchen is recommended. Despite the restaurant being full, the waitress was in the mood for jokes. The decoration is as it used to be in many stables.

Unfortunately very disappointed this time. The schnitzel was max 1 cm with breading 2 cm and so dry. For that price I won't eat this again. It was a pressed schnitzel that had probably been fried in the fryer. A pity.... We went in without a reservation, one waitress said no, everything was full, or reserved... and the other knew us, so we were allowed to sit down. The reserved tables weren't empty when we left... Unfortunately I don't understand that? The 5 stars are for the little waitress, she runs a lot and is really nice. What you can't say about the second one, sorry. If you don't enjoy working in the catering industry, you should look for something else.

Always been satisfied, can't complain about anything!

An established restaurant for years and always very tasty food for the whole family. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the portions have shifted. The side dishes almost fall off the plate while you look for the clear portion of meat. And the whole thing is over 20+€... there are definitely ways to divide the portions differently. The staff is always very friendly and tries to ensure that you can enjoy your stay and the food.
