A modern and charmingly furnished restaurant. The service is always friendly and attentive. The small side room is well-suited for smaller families or club gatherings. The traditional German cuisine is very generous on every plate. Perfect for those with a big appetite. My favorite is the head cheese with fried potatoes – absolutely fantastic! So, head on over to the Sandkrug.

Nice restaurant, very busy on Sunday at lunchtime when we were there. The portions were generous with fries and rice, but the meat was very small and it could have used a bit more sauce, making it a bit pricey for what it was. We still enjoyed the food, though.

We visited the restaurant on August 24, 2025. The ambiance is very pleasant and inviting. Unfortunately, we waited an hour for our food. To make matters worse, the food, except for the croquettes, was cold. For a steak with seasoned meat and cheese, that's pretty odd in my opinion. There was no discount or anything like that. Since we waited an hour for our food, we ate it because we were hungry and didn't want to wait forever for it again. Our conclusion: as locals, we won't be visiting this restaurant again, and certainly won't recommend it to anyone.

I can recommend the taste of the food and the setting...but...in this day and age, they're too inflexible with portion sizes...and an absolute no-go: not thanking people for tips...hence the few stars!

We arrived on Saturday with 12 people and, despite having a reservation for a confirmation ceremony, received excellent service. It couldn't have been better. Perfect service and friendly staff. Everyone's food was very good, both in terms of taste and the portions were generous. Orders and food were served very quickly. Perfect! A delight for everyone. Ich war am 23. März als Gast bei einer Geburtstagsfeier. Familiär war alles ganz prima. Essen und Getränke waren auch sehr gut. ABER: Die Gastgeberin hatte nach Absprache Torten und Kuchen mitgebracht. Die mitgebrachten Torten waren nicht geschnitten, es lag nicht einmal ein Messer dabei! Dann kam mit der Rechnung der Hammer: 1. Es wurden 60 € Tortengeld verlangt! 2. Pro Gedeck wurden 4,90 € verlangt, da der Kuchen mitgebracht worden war! 3. Ein Gast hatte beim Mittagessen statt Pommes Salzkartoffeln gewünscht. Dafür musste 1 € Änderungsgebühr gezahlt werden! Bei der Reservierung war auf solche Zusatzkosten nicht hingewiesen worden. Ich leite eine Senioren-Kegelgruppe, mit der ich jedes Jahr mehrere Kaffeefahrten unternehme. Und jede Woche essen wir nach dem Kegeln in der Gaststätte Mittag - auch mit gelegentlichen Änderungswünschen. Aber so eine Abzocke habe ich noch nirgends erlebt! So vergrault man potentielle Gäste!

I can definitely recommend this restaurant. The solyanka reminded us of old times, the food was perfect and plentiful. Sauerbraten in particular was highly praised. A down-to-earth meal and of course all the other dishes were also perfect. They also beautifully set the table for 8 people, in keeping with our occasion. The service was very careful, quick and friendly. All wishes were individually addressed. So overall perfect and yes, we would love to come back!!

Nice restaurant located directly on the B96. Sufficient parking spaces available. It was already popular during the GDR era and still is. Good range of food and drinks. It's worth a visit!

I was here again after a long time. I am very disappointed. The vegetables were out of the bag, overcooked. Not fresh. Meat looked like molded meat. No fresh vegetables. At 19 euros I expect that. I was freezing the whole time, ice cold. Unfortunately. Not recommended.

I was a guest at Sandkrug on December 12th, 2024 as part of a Christmas party and can only recommend this restaurant. Today on September 3rd we had dinner at our favorite restaurant. We've never had such a bad meal there. The way the food is prepared is not worthy of a chef and therefore the price of the food is not justified. Frozen vegetables warmed up, no spices on them: the meat was very, very close to expiration and the size of the dishes was too small for the price. It's a real shame.: Our thanks go to Mr. Wegner from the service... simply great

Been there several times, But now the menu has changed to just a double-sided cardboard menu, whereas it used to be a bit more classy. Another drawback, no drinks card was given. It's a shame, it's worn off somehow. Food came quite quickly and was okay.

We celebrated my husband's 60th birthday at Sandkrug following a recommendation. Unfortunately we were only moderately enthusiastic. I thought it was a shame that the table wasn't set up nicely. There were even stains on the table runners. The food wasn't what the price promised either. The starters of spiced meat and solyanka were okay. But the main course left a lot to be desired. Instead of the advertised triplet of potatoes, everyone was served 3 half-cooked flour potatoes with the asparagus. The schnitzels were barely seasoned and dry. Some of them were so thin that I wondered if there was even meat between the breading. Then the eggnog was missing from the Swedish cup dessert, which the waitress added after a while with a succinct remark. Now in a double portion, but not tasty at all. Instead of the Espresso Macciato, I got a Latte Macciato. Although the waitress wanted to exchange it, I took it anyway because I'm against throwing it away. But as if as punishment, the bill then said an espresso and a latte macchiato. Even when we said goodbye in a friendly manner, we had the impression that the waitress was annoyed. We also come from the catering industry and have to say that restaurants don't have to be surprised if guests stay away.

The atmosphere was quite pleasant, the food was mostly not good, instead of the written triplets there were normal potatoes, these were half raw and unpeeled, although they were not jacket potatoes. Asparagus poorly peeled, hollandaise from the package, schnitzel gristly and everything barely seasoned. Swedish cup as dessert came after 30 minutes and the eggnog was missing, ordered espresso macchiato - got latte macchiato and then charged for latte macchiato plus espresso. Service unfriendly and unreasonable. It was the first and last time we were guests at this restaurant.

We visited this restaurant at the beginning of May. The service was very nice and had a good sense of humor. I even received the glass of milk. 🤪 I enjoyed my food and it can even be called Z....😀. Pricing for coffee is disproportionate to the rest of the menu. But this is something I noticed throughout NB. 🤔

Rump steak for €25. It was exchanged for a slightly larger one but it was only one cm thick. Very disappointing. Ice cream with hot cherries was served with fridge-cold sauce. The starter was really good though. And the waiter was attentive and friendly.

After a long walk along Tollensesee, we looked for a nice restaurant in Neubrandenburg. We found the Sandkrug restaurant right on the main street. We were greeted very friendly and our dog Willy was immediately given a bowl of water. We liked the food very much. We are always happy when the food is freshly prepared. The service was very friendly and attentive. Great!

Wir waren nun zum 2. Mal hier. Beim ersten Mal war es schon nicht so dolle. Bedingung recht lustlos. Schnitzel bestellt, Nackensteak bekommen. Essen war nur lauwarm. Beim Zigeunershnitzel ebenso Sauce lauwarm und sehr viele kleine Pimentkörner. Preise belaufen sich um die 20€, Aperol 8,90€

Das Ambiente so wie der Service waren gut. Der Laden selbst, war sehr sauber. Die Getränke waren schnell da. Beim Essen muss ich sagen, es war lecker aber ich bezweifle, das dass Schnitzel so wie die Kartoffel Taschen selbst gemacht waren. Für denn Preis, bei der Portion, kann man irgendwie "erwarten" das es selbst gemacht wird. Die musikalische Hintergrund Musik, passt nicht ganz zum Laden (Schlager).

Essen nicht gewürzt, Gemüse nicht knackig, schlecht zubereitet, Bratenfett mit unangenehmen Geschmack. Einen Tag später bekam ich starke Bauchkrämpfe und Durchfall. Hier werde ich nie wieder essen.

Angenehmes Restaurant, sehr sauber, aber es war sehr kalt darin. Die Inhaber hätten vor Öffnung früher die Heizungen anstellen müssen. Große Portionen, appetitlich angerichtet. Personal war sehr freundlich.

Waren gerade dort Abendbrot essen. Sehr guter Service, der Gastraum sehr schön und das Essen kam schnell und ist zu empfehlen. Kommen gerne wieder.

Moin Leute. War mit der Frau essen. Essen ist etwas Hüftlastig. Meine Bohnen mit Zwiebel waren mir zu Oelig. Fleisch und Kroketten war eine Wucht. Frauchen Bratkatoffelchen waren an einigen Scheiben durchgebrannt. Hänchen mit Ananas Käse überbacken war lecker. Ansonsten gerne wieder da Essen. Würden uns gern vom Gegeteil überzeugen lassen. Wer mal schnell essen will ok..Aber nix besonders. Ehrlich, Ketchup und Majo aus kleinen Tankstellen Tütchen ist schon komisch. Bedienung sehr nett. Fazit schönes Ambiente aber Qualität der Speisen so lala..

Guter Service allerdings bei den Getränken werden einfach zu viele Eiswürfel verwendet ansonsten war alles super

Wir haben gut gegessen, Dorsch und Schnitzel, alles lecker und gute Hausmannskost. Die Bedienung war freundlich und aufmerksam, also alles gut bei unserem Zwischenstopp von Stralsund nach Oranienburg!
