The Schützenhaus was booked for a private event with over 50 people. The Landhausstube (country-style parlor) was beautifully decorated, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the food was delicious. A definite positive review from my side.

The food at the Schützenhaus itself, and also the catering at our wedding, was fantastic! Absolutely delicious. Dietary allergies (gluten intolerance), as well as vegan and vegetarian options, were catered for without a doubt. Communication was excellent, and everyone was very reliable and super friendly! We would recommend them to anyone!

We had the pleasure of celebrating our non-denominational wedding ceremony and subsequent reception at the Schützenhaus restaurant last Saturday, and it couldn't have been more perfect. The venue itself is incredibly beautiful, but what the team pulled off with the decor and lighting is simply incredible. We and our guests simply adored the market-style buffet, the select dishes, and the (sparkling) drinks. All of this was rounded off by a perfectly coordinated team that was as accommodating and attentive as you could imagine on your big day. We chose the Schützenhaus as our wedding caterer. The first appointment was very convincing and seemed professional. The selection was so huge that it was difficult for us to put together our wedding menu. After we made our decision, we went to the tasting. What can I say? We got about 80% of our menu to try. We weren't expecting that; we thought we'd get a small selection. It was fantastic and delicious; we practically rolled out of there. On the day of the reception, everything was also top-notch. The on-site chef was very friendly and gave us helpful advice. The food was fresh, was refilled, and very tasty. The guests were delighted with the taste and variety. We thank you for the culinary delight and will definitely come back for another meal. We can happily recommend the Schützenhaus, as everything was perfect for us.

First of all, the food was delicious! Unfortunately, I didn't find the service very good. The waiter tipped a tray of beer all over me (my pants were completely wet) and the table, which can definitely happen, no problem! But then, not even taking the initiative to get a cloth, wipe the table, or even lay out new napkins/cutlery, I found unprofessional. When we then asked one of the waitresses if she could perhaps wipe the table or if she could give us a cloth, she did so with a roll of her eyes and a visibly annoyed expression. Such a shame! The waitress who brought us the food and the gentleman who gave us the bill were very nice.

I had a truly fantastic evening at the Schützenhaus – from the very first moment, everything was just right. The welcome was warm, the ambience stylish and pleasantly relaxed, and the service was consistently attentive but never intrusive. The food was a real highlight: each course was perfectly balanced, creatively prepared, and beautifully presented. You immediately notice the attention to detail here – both in the kitchen and in the service. I always appreciate that. I particularly enjoyed the wine pairing – excellently matched and presented with a wealth of expertise. You feel thoroughly well-advised and welcome at the same time. In short: a culinary experience of the highest quality that I can wholeheartedly recommend. I will definitely be back and look forward to my next visit.

This evening, I ate there with two friends. The food was delicious. However, the waitress' tone left a lot to be desired. We suspect she may have been having a bad day. Of course, the question is, are you allowed to let the guest feel that?! Since this isn't the first time I've been dissatisfied at the Schützenhaus, I've decided that I'd rather head to the Klosterschänke in Lennep. Update 7/19/25 I would like to thank Mr. Clemens for the pleasant phone call. We discussed my review. I gladly accept his apology. Based on his explanation, I'm happy to change the review to something positive.

The Schützenhaus Remscheid is unique and top-notch. The staff was fantastic, very accommodating, and always attentive. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed celebrating in the country restaurant until the early hours. The food was also very specially prepared, exactly according to our wishes. The consultation beforehand was very professional. Overall, over 70 guests were extremely satisfied and enjoyed a truly wonderful celebration with us, where everything was perfect. Therefore, our thanks to the entire team and an unconditional recommendation for anyone looking for a more unusual celebration.

We celebrated our wedding three weeks ago at the Landgaststube in the Schützenhaus. From the preliminary discussions and planning, to the beautifully decorated room, to the food and the entire service staff, everything was perfect. I spontaneously went there yesterday because I was waiting for a friend who was going ballooning. Right from the start, I was warmly welcomed on the terrace by an employee (who wasn't part of the restaurant staff), who showed me to a seat. The service and food were excellent! Since I was there with two dogs, they brought me a water bowl, and when I needed to go to the bathroom, they briefly looked after the dogs. One minor quibble: a small plate, napkin, and even a knife would have been nice to go with the "seed tray." But all in all, a successful visit with a stroll in the city garden. I'll definitely be back!

I don't know exactly what was wrong with the waitress, but I've never been treated so badly. I'm still speechless. The food is expensive, but you know that, and it's okay. It's a shame, the restaurant is actually very nice. I hope the waitress was just having a bad day.

We celebrated our wedding at the Schützenhaus at the end of May 2025. First of all: It was amazing. From the food and drinks to the staff, everything was perfect. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't exactly cooperating on our big day, and it rained. The team adapted the outdoor area under the large marquee tent to the weather conditions and set up small warming lanterns and a large fire bowl, which provided warmth, but above all, plenty of coziness. Various alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (Aperol, Lillet, Mandarin Spritz, sparkling wine, etc.) were served in elegant glasses. The outdoor area is therefore a dream not only in sunshine but also in rain. There was also savory and sweet finger food, which the guests really enjoyed after the church service! The "grand hall" was also decorated according to our wishes and ideas. The team also incorporated various decorative elements we had brought with us, such as the welcome sign. The food was amazing. From the served appetizer plate to the live cooking of the main courses to dessert, everything was delicious, and we heard several times that evening that it was the best wedding dinner ever. The service was always on point from the first minute to the end (the Schützenhaus doesn't have a set end time), and the drinks were a) prepared with attention to detail and b) served quickly. If you want to make your wedding or celebration something truly special, are looking for the best food, good and exceptional drinks, superb service, and a beautiful location including an outdoor area, this is the place for you. And best of all: All this at a very transparent and fair price. There's no traditional "wedding surcharge" here. Nor are there any surcharges for small sums, banquet managers, service, or "surcharges after midnight." Last but not least: The entire team strives to fulfill all wishes and ideas. There was never a "we can't do that" or "that doesn't fit our program." Many thanks to Paul and the entire team. Please keep up the good work. Highly recommended! :)

We were able to sample our selections at a tasting in the restaurant. We were immediately impressed by the food and the hospitality of the entire team. On the day of the wedding, the food was freshly prepared on site and refilled as often as we wanted. Both we and our guests thoroughly enjoyed the meal and unfortunately couldn't eat as much as we would have liked. The planning in advance was uncomplicated - all of our wishes were taken into account and implemented flexibly. A special highlight was the rehearsal dinner, which absolutely thrilled us and made us even more excited! On the wedding day itself, everything went smoothly and exactly as agreed. The food was simply fantastic – we and our guests were thrilled! We received compliments on it again and again throughout the day - even from those who are usually more critical. We celebrated our daughter's wedding in the Schützenhaus. It was excellent all around, the reception was lovingly prepared, the buffet was rich and great, the service was very attentive and very friendly. The space with the terrace was ideal for our celebration. We can only recommend it without reservation.

Prices high quality below. Teka fish and dead dry pork fillet. Better go to McDonalds. Operation totally self-absorbed. Never again.

Very nice atmosphere and great food (my favorite the lentil curry). I would like more choice of vegetarian dishes. There is only one point deducted because the service staff is very friendly, but not always attentive (drink orders are forgotten or you wait a long time for the bill). Be sure to reserve.

The Schützenhaus was our choice for catering the wedding and from the choice of menu, to the rehearsal dinner and the celebration, it is our absolute recommendation. Our shared guests were so happy, the team on site fulfilled all of their wishes and the quality of every course/menu, dessert and midnight snack was really amazing. Nice restaurant, but the price is now a bit too high... Too expensive for pork fillet that had been fried for too long (I ordered pink). Chaos with the invoice... The cellar team needed 25 minutes and 3 attempts to issue 5 individual invoices to 9 people Unfortunately, the doors in the winter garden were partially opened, so I sat in a draft. However, nothing was changed upon request. That would be just what I was told. Well, next time somewhere else

We can only warmly recommend Stefan and his team as caterers for our wedding! Our expectations were not only met, but exceeded. From the first preliminary meeting everything was extremely professional. Stefan thrilled us with his creative suggestions for the dishes and understood exactly that we wanted something individual and unusual - far away from classic dishes like rosemary potatoes or chicken in cream sauce. We had a set starter, a buffet for the main course with an additional grill station and a dessert buffet. Everything was perfectly organized and the quality of the food was simply excellent. We ate at the Schützenhaus and had the Schützenhaus as a caterer for our wedding (including a rehearsal dinner). Both the à la carte food on site, as well as the rehearsal dinner and the subsequent buffet for the wedding were simply phenomenal. The quality and taste were outstanding, the service was simply great (both in the restaurant and in the catering). All guests were thrilled. We will definitely come back!

From the first preliminary conversation to the rehearsal dinner to the day of the wedding, we always felt we were well advised. And the guests also had a lot of praise for the food. We celebrated our wedding in the Landhausstube in July and it was wonderful. The food was delicious, the ambience was great and the service was outstanding.

The food was decent, although the duck was a little overcooked. The service staff was quite variable: the person who seated us was cold and not particularly welcoming and took a while to bring us menus. However, the waitress we had later in the evening was much friendlier. We were there on a Tuesday evening and, although there were plenty of people sitting outside, it was almost deserted inside.

We celebrated our wedding here in mid-June. We were thrilled from start to finish. The rehearsal dinner was great, the decorations provided were very nice and all agreements were kept. We celebrated our wedding in the Landhausstube in May. From the hall to the buffet and decoration, all of our wishes were taken into account and implemented as discussed. We also responded to short-term changes due to the changeable weather so that the BBQ could still take place outside. Thanks to the Schützenhaus team we had a perfect day without any worries or stress. In any case, that wasn't our last celebration there. Many thanks to the great team!

We were invited to the gold wedding there yesterday. Great buffet... What we particularly liked were the different drinks that were offered to us as a welcome (in Weck glasses) and also the small 0.1 liter beers at the reception were really great. Friendly and attentive service. There was something on the menu for every taste. The food was delicious and attractively prepared and tasted very tasty.

We celebrated our wedding in the country house and were happy with everything. We were given very good advice right from the planning stage and our wishes were implemented straight away. We and our guests felt very comfortable. We personally really liked the hall and the rustic decoration. We decided on a Mediterranean buffet, and the various choices were well received by us and the guests. It was plentiful and very tasty. The service was also great and fulfilled all of our wishes. I would organize another celebration at the Schützenhaus at any time.

The food is really very good, but takes a really long time between courses. We had a lovely evening waiting over an hour between the starter and the main course can be done if there is information about it. Service is friendly, but seems overwhelmed by the number of tables to do justice to the level of the kitchen.

Always worth a visit! Great food, nice atmosphere and definitely worth the price.

Unfortunately I have to share negative experiences. There were two of us there and we each ordered vegetarian food. The two dishes that are specifically listed under vegetarian/vegan. We obviously declined the option to order fish with the lentil curry, whereupon we were specifically asked whether we were vegetarian/vegan. Simple answer: yes. Then the greeting came from the kitchen, mushroom soup. Unfortunately with meat and without announcement. So I promptly had a piece in my mouth. Annoying, but it can happen. Then came the main courses. Beautifully prepared, with a crab chip on the specially agreed vegetarian/vegan dish. Unfortunately, the waiter objected and said there was no decoration containing meat or fish. After making sure in the kitchen, a cautious: "They're shrimp chips... But for now, just continue eating in peace." None of this would be a big issue for me if an apology was made or improvement was perhaps praised. Unfortunately that didn't happen. So after paying we walked past the waiter who just turned away and lowered his head. A bitter disappointment for a restaurant with the prices and apparently high standards.

We visited the restaurant with several people on a Saturday evening. It was almost fully occupied and made a modern and cozy impression. Personally, I think it's positive that you can go here with a dog. The service staff was very friendly and tried to cope with the volume of service. In terms of price, the restaurant is slightly higher, and the food on the menu tends towards fine dining. What didn't fit into the picture here were the large Pilsner beers we ordered, which were served to us in wheat beer glasses. This is certainly not a big deal, but it doesn't suit an upscale restaurant. If you don't have large pilsner glasses, you only serve smaller beers. A positive note is a greeting from the kitchen, which was served to us in addition to bread and a herb cream. However, this was also necessary because we were hungry and had to wait almost 1.5 hours for our food. I chose corn poularde a la "Cog au Vin", which according to the menu was served with pearl onions. Since I don't like pickled onions in my food, I asked the waiter if they were pickled. After consulting with the kitchen, this was denied and the onions were cooked in wine. When my food was served I realized that it was actually pickled silver onions that had been cooked - too bad! The taste of our ordered dishes varied. Nicely presented, but sometimes a little little on the plates.

Very well-kept restaurant with friendly staff. The menu is not too large and there is something for every taste. The staff will also accept changes upon request. Gladly again 😀

Food quite good... with room for improvement. Service okay... not really learned, but quite nice. The evening was still quite nice.

A dream about food is all I can say. In this house we were very impressed by the service, ambience and the brilliant cuisine. Everything we were served was on point. From the white bread served with bruschetta to the sweet dessert, everything was perfect. The main courses are a feast for the eyes and the taste is hard to beat. Kind regards to the kitchen. It's great that you exist. Here you can still get real food in a very nicely decorated restaurant.

Kurz und knapp, das Essen war super lecker, der reservierte Tisch war auch gut, aber der Kellner hatte (rein subjektiv empfunden) irgendwie keine Motivation bzw wir wurden recht emotionslos behandelt, z.B. wurden wir nicht gefragt ob wir noch etwas trinken möchten mit leeren Gläsern auf dem Tisch. Über die Gründe kann ich nur spekulieren. Davon ab sehr gut.

Das Essen war lecker, allerdings hat man meine Bestellung falsch erfasst und ich musste laaange warten (die einzige von meinen Kollegen). Als mein Essen kam, waren alle bereits mit ihrem essen fertig.

Wir waren zu eine Betriebsfeier dort. Essen war super und sehr freundliches Personal.

Wir haben im August unsere freie Trauung im Schützenhaus gefeiert. Alles war sehr gut vom Personal und Herrn Paul Clemens wie abgesprochen organisiert. Das Essen war geschmacklich ausgezeichnet. Wir waren von der Location,dem sehr guten Service, der Freundlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit des Personal sehr begeistert. Wir danken Herrn Clemens und dem Team für diesen unvergesslichen Tag! Tolles Ambiente, leckeres Essen und top Service!

Ein sehr schönes Restaurant. Wir haben dort einen 50. Geburtstag gefeiert. Es gab Finger Food war für jeden Geschmack was dabei. Sehr leckeren Nachtisch und um 11 Uhr noch eine Currywurst. War mal was ganz anderes als bei anderen Feiern. Hat alles super geschmeckt, super Ambiente und das Personal war sehr freundlich und flink. Kann ich guten Gewissens weiterempfehlen.

Hatten ein Firmenessen dort, mit einem fixen Menü. Als Vegetarier hatte ich die gewohnte kleine Auswahl und leider keine Vorspeisenmöglichkeit. Habe dann den super freundlichen Kellner gefragt ob sie mir eine vegetarische Vorspeise machen könnten. War für die überhaupt kein Problem und ich muss schreiben, Wahnsinn, was die mir dann als Vorspeisen-Variation auf den Teller gezaubert haben war eines der besten Dinge die ich je in meinem Leben gegessen habe. Ganz großes Theater. Vielen Dank dafür 👍👍👍 Auch die Haupt- und Nachspeise waren dann voll OK und sehr gut. War halt noch zu begeistert von der Vorspeise. Super nettes Team und gerne wieder.

Wir waren auf einer Feier zum Jubiläum eingeladen. Die Gäste wurden schnell und freundlich bedient. Das Menü wurde in kurzer Reihenfolge serviert, war sehr lecker.

Tolles Essen, Personal und Lokalität.

Für eine Feier mit 80 Leuten haben wir das Schützenhaus gebucht und waren vollumfänglich zufrieden. Perfekter Service durch absolute Profis.

Das Essen war sehr gut es war alles frisch die Kellnerinen waren sehr freundlich und das Ambiente war ebenfalls sehr schön ich kann es nur weiterempfehlen und freue mich schon aufs nächste Mal dort essen zugehen.

Service ist ok, Ambiente in Ordnung. Das fleischlose Angebot ist ein Witz (Stand heute: insg. 4 Mahlzeiten davon 1 Vorspeise / 1 Salat / 2 Hauptspeisen). Im Gegensatz dazu ca. 30 Speisen mit Fleisch. Hätte ich hier nicht wegen einer Feier sein müssen, hätte ich nen Bogen drum gemacht.
