Wow, no children under 10 allowed. This only exists in Germany. Very sad I would like to say that it is less about the fact “Adults only” and more about the way, the discriminatory, outrageous statements towards children and families and how a customer is treated here. “The sound makes the music”. Here you look for a conversation on equal terms and respectful interaction in vain.

If you reserve in advance you have the chance to have dinner. Unfortunately that's the case today. Waitress nice and quick-witted. 👍🏻 Food was good and there was enough quantity. Recommended!

This beautiful place has become our favorite restaurant on the Baltic Sea. Because here we still cook with love and not just for one season. I haven't been to Shipperhus either, but I would definitely enjoy the peace and quiet while eating. After all, that's why you go out to eat - to enjoy yourself. And you can't do that when naughty children run screaming around the tables because parents are overwhelmed with raising them or have no interest in it. It's easier to do nothing. I fully support this concept. Anyone who has such children should go to a family hotel. But it's probably too loud for them there. Great concept 👍

These five stars are a small compensation for the poor reviews from parents who think the rest of the world has to adapt to their children. Anyone who is not willing or able to raise their children should not reproduce at all. And as soon as we're nearby, we'll stop by and look forward to a good meal in a quiet atmosphere!

No children allowed. to rule on the answer: I don't see it that way because if I exclude everyone just because of bad experiences with some of them, that's unacceptable. Where does it start, where does it end? If you have a bad experience with Asians, do you exclude everyone? Then suddenly it's racism... Apart from that, everyone seems to forget that they were children too.

I'm a family person and only go to restaurants with my children. Unfortunately that is not possible here. Luckily there are plenty of alternatives.

Attracted by chance by the really intoxicating smell of the restaurant, we tried to get a table with our four children. We were kindly but firmly informed that children would not be served. Even though I understand the landlady's extremely frightening experiences and the principle of house rules, I find it a shame that positive examples are not given the opportunity to prove themselves. We would have played Coconut MauMau, Double, Memory or... with the children while we waited. The children had brought these games with them in their backpacks especially for us. The children's reaction, which motivated me to write this review, made me sad, speechless and thoughtful. Despite the landlady's house rules, which are a clear rule and must be adhered to, I wish there was another way of regulating things - along the lines of "Whoever says please and thank you..." Because contrary to some 5-star ratings for that Schipperhus, not all children or families are “tyrants”. Unfortunately, we had to and will continue to avoid this restaurant in the future and I cannot make a recommendation here.

Dear innkeepers, don't let it get you down. I think the decision not to let children under 12 in is absolutely right. If parents can't raise their children, then they have no business in a restaurant.

Solidarity 5 stars. I also see more and more that parents are overwhelmed when it comes to raising their children. There are certainly many exceptions, it is very difficult to filter them beforehand. House rules are house rules, if you don't fit in, you can enjoy the valuable food at McDonalds with your children.

The selected dishes arrived after a bit of a wait, but they were all the better for it! So delicious! The menu is relatively short, but everything seems to be very, very good. There isn't much space in the restaurant, so reservations are recommended. If the weather is nice, you can also sit outside.

Die ausgewählten Speisen kamen nach etwas Wartezeit, aber dafür waren sie umso besser! Sowas von lecker! Die Karte ist relativ kurz, aber es scheint alles sehr sehr gut zu sein. Es ist nicht viel Platz im Restaurant, also ist eine Reservierung zu empfehlen. Bei schönem Wetter kann auch draußen Platz genommen werden.

Cozy little restaurant with super friendly service. Drinks were brought quickly and we didn't have to wait long for the food. It was very nicely prepared and very tasty. With a reservation you are on the safe side of having an enjoyable time.

Beautiful, rustic restaurant, despite the overload of the service staff, it was a successful end to the Sunday evening and we had a very nice conversation with the active employee so that we could understand the somewhat complicated organization. Like every year on our "Dierhagen" vacation, we always planned that "Schipperhus" everything would be perfect for us and the "friendly" service "I unfortunately forgot the name (sorry) makes everything possible that makes you feel comfortable. Dear Schipperhus team, I respect your decision not to serve children under 12 years of age. I can say from my own experience that unfortunately it is very bad in some restaurants. Unfortunately I can't rate the food, but you get 5 stars from me just for this decision and for not letting some of the negative reviews influence you.

If you want to eat tasty and good food, this is the place for you. The food is fresh and very tasty, the atmosphere is cozy and the staff is absolutely friendly. Ending the day in peace with a delicious meal is possible here because of a rule. My dog ​​was given a bowl of water, which I also found very thoughtful. Excellent restaurant! Wonderful ambience, tasty food and everything at a good price-performance ratio. It's off-putting for families with small children that children under 12 are not welcome, but understandable. If parents don't have their offspring under control and this wild pig plays in the guest room, the owner has to defend himself. Cheers to anti-authoritarian parenting (or parental incompetence).

We ended up here by chance and were not disappointed. The dishes are well prepared by hand. The waiting time is reasonable. You should reserve a table for the weekend. Note on the parking lot, it is located behind the house, the driveway has a small bend, one assumes a closed gate, but it belongs to the neighbor. People like to come here.

Authentic ambience, good food and typical Nordic hospitality

Went to Schipperhus Essen five days ago. It was very, very tasty. We had the trilogy Schipperhus and cod with wild rice and cherry tomato vegetables, this was dream. I'll definitely cook it again. The service was super fast, entertaining, always up for a joke. Thank you Britne!!!!! A small downer nonetheless. When I pre-ordered, I specifically stated that it would be a birthday dinner. Unfortunately there was no sign of it on our reserved table. I think there is still room for improvement, it should be a special evening for me. A pity. Nobody is perfect. Nevertheless, we felt comfortable and the food contributed a lot to that.

Some of the food arrived cold and unfortunately didn't taste as desired. When we asked about it, we weren't treated very nicely. Criticism probably doesn't go down well here.

We had dinner here with friends and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. The service was super cool and very friendly. The food was very tasty and the price/performance ratio was absolutely fine. We'd love to come back. All the best and thank you very much.

I became aware of your restaurant through an online article. I've never been to your place myself, but I'd like to make a few comments about "No entertainment for under 12s" because I find the negative reviews on this subject completely wrong! And you get full stars from me, dear innkeeper, for your courageous decision. Dear restaurant operators, I would like to encourage you to take this step further and, above all, to simply rise above the negative reviews in this regard. What is partly posted there speaks for itself in terms of level. YOU have the “domestic rights”. This means you ALONE make the rules and no one else, period! That is a fact and everyone has to stick to it. I also can't get upset if, for example, our two dogs aren't allowed in holiday apartments. I find that a shame and regret it, but nothing more. Then I just have to look for a holiday apartment where dogs are allowed, period. Understanding other people's rules and questioning WHY that is the case is the next step. This is called empathy or understanding for the other person or, in the case of children, self-reflection, which means I look “from the outside” at how my children behave and what is my part in it. There are now enough adult hotels, saunas with access restrictions, etc. etc. Nobody gets upset about that. From my own experience I can confirm that it is now noticed positively when a well-behaved child is in a restaurant and I also compliment these parents. Unfortunately, the opposite is often the case and this is extremely annoying to other guests. I can also confirm that parents do not intervene, guests (including me) then intervene. An absolute no-go, the way some children behave. One has the impression that education rarely takes place anymore. The "guest" (as the word suggests, I am a GUEST on someone else's PROPERTY) has to behave and this also applies to children and the parents are responsible for the behavior of the children. My husband and I definitely enjoy it very much when we can eat and relax in a restaurant. If we were vacationing or living in your corner, we would definitely be regular guests!

2nd attempt...unfortunately the 1st attempt was deleted. There was probably something wrong with an AI about my recession. Toi toi A restaurant operator finally finds the courage to take this step. You can now find a play area in every other restaurant. Why do restaurants only have to cater to families with children? We pay the same price, don't we have the right to enjoy our food in peace?. Our singing bowl society is really annoying. As soon as you say something against children or restrict them, you are a child hater. Our last visit to the restaurant was hell and torture. Our neighboring table was occupied by 3 families with 5 small children. It was sheer horror, even for the poor children. If we're near you, we'd be happy to come by.

We were at the Schipperhus at the beginning of February 2024. The fact that we don't cater to families with children under 12 was very convenient for us, as we wanted to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and good food here and not the ignorance of powerless parents. You can attend modern plays on the topic if you like. It is the good property rights of the owner, who in my opinion can very well afford to make use of it. The relaxed calm in this small restaurant is therefore more of an upgrade. Our waitress was very friendly and, of course, easy-going, which is what makes the north so wonderful. So it wasn't just the food and the decor that was very authentic. We were very satisfied and had a wonderful evening here. I would also like to address the outrageous negative reviews here. By that I really only mean the outrageous ones. It is always astonishing how different standards and rules are imposed on catering by guests than in other service areas. Here too, as everywhere else, the same applies: as you call into the forest, it will ring out again. Twisting the facts and trashing the restaurants is so beautifully anonymous here and gives you a feeling of sublimity. If you have nothing else to say, you can show who you really are on vacation. Pathetic.

Well, if the catering industry can afford such restrictions as to exclude families with children under 12 across the board, the industry can't be doing particularly badly. What nonsense... A collective "punishment" that also affects the kids who know how to behave well... and yes, there are still a lot of those today!!! However, when I read the owner's responses to some of the comments here, I seriously ask myself whether she, of all people, should be upset about the supposedly bad nursery of her guests. Maybe sweep your own door first. What is really cheeky is that you don't mention anything about the general discrimination against families on your homepage, but even present your restaurant as particularly family-friendly. You should generally avoid shops like this with managers like this... which is exactly what I do, by the way. For your answer to my review, I'll quote from your homepage: "This place is also well suited for a visit with children because of its family friendliness." ... it's ridiculous, isn't it? Whether there are campsites where guests are only allowed from the age of 16 (I AM a camper and have never seen a place like this ... but in our family-unfriendly Germany everything is possible now) ... so: whether there are such campsites, is completely irrelevant. Eating and drinking are basic human needs... and to deny these to a child simply because of his age is, in my opinion, against human dignity! So, for example, an 11-year-old child could watch your place in the middle of summer while his 12-year-old brother is allowed to have a drink at your place??? Do you notice anything else? I have often been to restaurants where groups of mentally disabled people were guests. They were sometimes quite loud and their eating habits sometimes took a bit of getting used to. Do you also prohibit such people from entering your restaurant because other guests might feel disturbed? Or is it ultimately not the other guests who have a problem with it, but you, because you like to discriminate against weaker people and feel empowered when you can exercise your (supposed) power?

If you don't allow children in the restaurant as a rule, you have to expect that other guests will also stay away. The selfish reaction of the owners to negative reviews only means that I will avoid the restaurant when I am in the region.

Gemütlich mit sehr gutem Essen und freundlicher Bedienung. Ich weiß nicht, was diverse “Letztbewerter” nur 1 Punkt wert war. Gewisse die Kinderregel ist außergewöhnlich, aber beschäftigt man sich mit den Gründen, wie es dazu kam, versteht man die Wirtin. Ambiente der Räume sind sehr ansprechend. Freundlichkeit und Fachkompetenz der Servicekraft ist sehr gut. Das Essen , die Getränke alles Bestens bei jedem von uns 5 Personen. Die Fisch Triologie sehr zu empfehlen.

High regard and respect for the courage to exclude children under 12!!! We have never been here before, but we will do so quickly - we have children of our own and in the meantime 3 grandchildren - we can be proud of the fact that we were always (!) able to be seen with our children and grandchildren, no complaining in the department store and a certain behavior, for example in the restaurant. I am even in favor of extending it to theaters and other institutions, for example, unless it is expressly for children! I can always see how "educated" some children are with "my" Greek... So it's just a question of education! The parents who complain here should question the way they raise their children!!!

als gastronom und gast kann ich eure entscheidung voll nachvollziehen. viele eltern wollen der beste freund/ freundin ihres prinzen/ ihrer prinzessin sein- funktioniert nicht. kinder testen halt aus, wie weit sie gehen können und sind unbewußt dankbar, von eltern ihre grenze gesetzt zu bekommen.

Das Essen ist okay, aber die Wirtin leider sehr unfreundlich und hochnäsig... nicht schön für die Atmosphäre bei einem Restaurant Besuch.

Zum Glück sind hier Kinder unter 12 nicht erwünscht. Das liegt per se nicht an den Kindern, sondern an den unfähigen Eltern, die diese nicht im Griff haben und es anderen Gästen ruinieren. :)

Das Essen war gut und lecker! Die Bedienung und das Ambiente allerdings verbieten einen zweiten Besuch! Schade… Nach Lesen der Rückmeldung durch die Wirtin: Danke für den Hinweis des “Hintern puderns”… muss bißchen lachen… bezüglich der Helligkeit hatten wir höflich gefragt und waren auch mit der Erklärung einverstanden. Darüber, dass man uns entgegengekommen ist und die Lampe selbst ausmachte, haben wir uns gefreut…zumal wir die einzigen Gäste waren in dem sehr hellen Restaurant. Der Gemütlichkeit wegen haben wir uns dann tatsächlich erdreistet, eine kleine Dekobeleuchtung anzustellen und vergaßen, diese beim Hinausgehen wieder auszuschalten. Der anschließende Kommentar war unangemessen und wenig kundenorientiert… Wir werden den Ratschlag im Nachgang “Sie haben doch schon von außen gesehen, dass es hier hell ist. Warum kommen Sie dann überhaupt rein?” (Bedienung) beim nächsten Mal sehr gerne beherzigen. Der Kommentar der Wirtin spiegelt das Niveau der Kundenorientierung eindrucksvoll wider. Ich wünsche Ihnen alles Gute und ein frohes Weihnachtsfest.

Ich kann das verstehen. Wir haben auch Kinder, aber was sich manche Eltern erlauben ist das allerletzte. Die gehen mir echt auf den Sender. Kinder Zeugen können die immer, aber danach hörts auf. Wenn ich mal in der Nähe bin, kommen wir mal vorbei.

Kinder unter 12 Jahren sind hier verboten. Bei soviel Nettigkeit möchte man selbst als Paar nicht einkehren. Das kann kein Gericht auf der Karte wieder gutmachen. Absolut nicht zu empfehlen.

Leider sind hier Kinder unter 12 verboten. Bei soviel Überheblichkeit ist uns der Appetit gleich vergangen. In Ribnitz-Damgarten kann man super essen. Der Schuppen ist absolut nicht zu empfehlen.

Wir waren leider noch nicht in diesem Restaurant. Aber wir müssen den Wirtsleuten unsere Hochachtung für Ihren Mut aussprechen. Wir haben selbst 2 Kinder und denen haben wir Abstand und Rücksichtnahme beigebracht. Trotzdem durften sie Kinder sein. In einem Lokal ist man nicht allein und deshalb können sich auch Kinder nicht benehmen dürfen wie in ihrer eigenen Bude. Hier hatten dann die Eltern wahrscheinlich keine Kinderstube. Aber leider sind Anstand und Rücksichtnahme überholt. Solche Leute sollten nirgends mehr bedient werden.

Ich fühle mit und wünsche viel Erfolg mit der neuen Wirklichkeit und neuen Regel. Es ist nicht einfach aber ich drücke die Daumen! Grüße aus Berlin!

Wirtin heult sich bei Facebook über die Unfreundlichkeit der Gäste aus und droht das Lokal für immer zu schließen.....wenn noch mal einer Sagt, die Region lebt doch nur vom Tourismus. Wer so professionell agiert, sollte der gewerblichen Gastronomie den Rücken kehren und die Möwen am Strand verköstigen....Nachtrag; keine sorge, ich werde Ihren Schuppen schon nicht aufsuchen. Alleine Ihr äußeres Erscheinungsbild ist Abschreckung genug.^^

Ich kann mich nur den Rezensionen anschließen. Ich habe noch nie so einen Fraß vorgesetzt bekommen wie hier, dazu noch eine Bedienung die völlig deplatziert ist, wie sich sich so ein TK Schuppen halten kann ist mir schleierhaft. Ja, leider war ich tatsächlich bei Ihnen essen. Selbstverständlich habe ich Respekt vor der Arbeit anderer nur das was sie dort vollführen ist weder Arbeit noch verdient es Respekt und Anerkennung aber ich kann gerne mal klatschen damit sie zufrieden sind.

Kinder unter 12 Jahren sind hier unerwünscht, bzw. werden nicht bewirtet und dürfen die Gaststätte nicht betreten.... wie wenig Herz muss man als Gastronom haben um so etwas durchzusetzen??? Ihr solltet euch schämen!!!! Eure Kinder waren bestimmt auch nicht einfach.... lasst Kinder einfach Kinder sein!
