Even our question about the possibility of a small dog under the table was answered in a friendly and, even a little, humorous way. Above all, positive. Overall, I have to say, it was definitely worth the visit. In detail: I think I now know very well when a Schäufele is perfectly prepared and when it isn't. This was the case here, even though it was a Saturday night. Only, as a sauce enthusiast, I would prepare it without any additional tools. But everything else, whether appetizers or main courses, was fresh and beautifully prepared and excellently served by a very friendly staff. So again: a heartfelt thank you for this. You can enjoy delicious, home-style food here. The food was delicious and nicely presented. The service was also very friendly and attentive. The ambiance is so-so. However, the owners have made the most of the not-so-nice location.

We ate at St. Michael's yesterday and all opted for the shoulder of pork with dumplings and red cabbage. And what can I say: it was outstanding! The meat was super tender, the beer sauce was delicious, and the dumplings and red cabbage were also perfectly cooked. The owner of the restaurant is also super friendly and happy to chat. The price was absolutely reasonable, too. The other guests' dishes also looked very tasty. Reservations are recommended!

Delicious Franconian cuisine, friendly service, and all at fair prices. My shoulder of pork was just as excellent as my wife's creamy chanterelle mushrooms with medallions and napkin dumplings.

The best Franconian restaurant I've visited in a long time. Everything we ordered was excellent. Veal liver with mashed potatoes and fried onions, beef roulade with spoon spaetzle, roast pork with dumplings. And where else do they serve black salsify these days? The menu always offers a seasonal selection. And most importantly: The quality remains consistently high. The service was very friendly and attentive. The terrace seats 30 people – a real crowd in the summer evenings – and the interior is very small. That alone is why I shouldn't advertise here. Parking is available in the nearby Residenz parking lot. Currently, there's an extensive chanterelle mushroom menu. The salad with various toppings is a dream, and the price is reasonable. Try it! The entrance is not wheelchair accessible. Parking is difficult.

We were in Würzburg over the weekend and, after our first visit, decided to return. The food is incredibly delicious, the service excellent, and the value for money is simply top-notch! A real recommendation 😍

We had a cream of chanterelle soup, a baked fish fillet with mixed salad, and a saltimbocca. The meal was once again a great delight at a perfectly reasonable price. We had a lovely seat on the terrace and extremely friendly and attentive service. This is what makes it fun!

Fresh salad and schnitzel. This is a restaurant that I went into because it was close to where I was walking on a very hot day in Würzburg. The portions were very large and delicious, so it was enough for two people to eat and it was good. However, when I received the bill, it was a restaurant where taxes were charged separately from the amount written on the menu. So the amount was unexpectedly high.

We went to the Sankt Michael restaurant for lunch and had an outdoor seating. The service was attentive and the food was delicious. The prices are on the high side, but the quality is also good.

Delicious as always, still one of the best restaurants in town.

Very good food across the board

“Grandma's Kitchen” triggered us because we actually want to try out regional cuisine. The service was rather non-binding, but very quick. We had onion roast and liver, both very good and nice portions. There were also small, good salads included. Plus Silvaner and Pilsner. Prices good. Ambience almost like a living room from the 60s, 7 tables close together. We liked it.

Bad food and bad service. It is better to look for something nice in the residence or old town

We came here because of the top reviews and apparently had a bad day. It was incredibly cold in the dining room and we were squeezed into a table in the corner, even though the restaurant was empty when we arrived. The food was supposed to be Bavarian home cooking, which we expected, but it didn't convince us at all. The cordon bleu was partially burnt, dry on the inside and the breading tasted like old frying fat. There was a maximum of 2 drops of dressing on the salad. The bratwursts were okay. Apparently the dressing that was missing from the other salad was put into the side salad here. The service staff was very hectic and seemed somehow disoriented.

Great cuisine! Small but nice restaurant. Franconian home cooking, deliciously seasoned. Simply highly recommended!!! :)

Excellent Franconian and German cuisine with a changing menu. I love the Würzburger onion meat and the cabbage wraps with veal, but duck, fish, steak and the like also taste impeccable and to the point. In addition, everything is freshly prepared and prepared. That's why we like to come often, even just for a glass of Silvaner. The Sankt Michael is centrally located, but a little outside the immediate city center and usual routes. Therefore an insider tip for me :)

We were warmly welcomed and served quickly. The food was very tasty. The location with the street next door, where the horn was honked a few times, wasn't ideal, but it was quite pleasant due to the beautiful plants and therefore good screening. If I'm back in Würzburg and want to eat good home-style food, I'll definitely come here again.

We had an incredibly good cordon bleu. It doesn't happen often in Würzburg anymore. Price-performance ratio is absolutely fine. We'll be back.

We were here on Christmas Day. The restaurant was small and very rustic. We were immediately warmly welcomed and shown to our table. The service here was great, the drinks came immediately and people regularly asked about what was going on. The pike perch was super tender and the skin was crispy. As it should be. The duck was also very tender and juicy, the croquettes were crispy - just as it should be. For dessert there was a chestnut mousse and a chocolate cake with kumquats. Everything was perfect (only the kumquats weren't our thing, but that's entirely a matter of taste)

Stopped in for a German Lunch. Great food one of the best meals I have had in Germany. Great service Great atmosphere and close to the Residence UNESCO site. Would come back.

Unfortunately the whole thing wasn't for us, we were completely confused after the visit. It's supposed to be a Franconian inn run by Asian service staff. The furnishings and ambience were getting old. There were plastic roses on the tables and old pictures on the walls, some with price tags. The small room didn't seem comfortable or inviting. In the anteroom there was a very unpleasant smell of a cellar and whenever new guests came they stood in the door for ages and the cold mixed with the smell. High praise only goes to the kitchen, someone really knows what they're doing here. The dishes all looked appealing and tasted GREAT. We particularly recommend the salmon salad or the salmon main course.

Alles perfekt. Nette Bedienung, schönes Ambiente, sehr sehr leckeres Essen. Beim nächsten Würzburg Besuch werden wir wieder hierherkommen.

Das St.Michael ist ein kleines, aber sehr feines Lokal. Fast schon ein „Geheimtipp“. Sehr freundliche, nette Bedienung. Die Speisekarte bietet für jeden Geschmack genügend Auswahl. Das Steak auf den Punkt medium gegart mit Beilage nach Wunsch. Die Ente sehr lecker und der Hirschbraten mit Knödeln ein Gedicht! Beim nächsten Besuch in Würzburg ganz bestimmt wieder.

Von außen eher unscheinbar, erwartet einen hier richtig richtig gutes Essen. Preis-Leistung absolut in Ordnung, große Portionen, super Qualität und unterschiedliche Gerichte. Service freundlich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Das Essen ist ein Traum. Wir waren alle ( 5 Hauptgerichte) begeistert. Wenn auch noch die Bedienung ein bisschen freundlich wäre würden wir jede Woche dort essen.

Wir waren mit 5 Personen da. Drei bestellten das Würzburger Zwiebelfleisch, einer das Pfeffersteak und einer das Schäufele. Die Qualität war sehr gut, auch die Portionsgröße. Die Bedienung war super nett und aufmerksam. Eine echte Empfehlung!

Sehr leckeres und reichlichen Essen, gute fränkische Hausmannskost, Service etwas rustikal, schnell, aber nicht besonders zugewandt, merkwürdige Platzzuweisung (Zweiertisch an der Türe, obwohl alles frei und es schon spät war) Ambiente nichts besonderes.

Alles sowas von toll Essen Trinken Eis 🍨 wir waren sowas von zufrieden . Nach der Roulade hab ich noch ein Eis gegessen . War sehr lecker. Die Bedienung war so freundlich ! Ein Glückstreffer: nahe an der Residenz und dem Hofgarten mit tollen fränkischen Essen! Das Würzburger Zwiebelfleisch war ein Traum. Die kleine Portion war riesig, 2 Scheiben Fleisch mit viel Bratkartoffeln, Zwiebeln und Salat. Selten sowas gutes gegessen. Alle anderen Gerichte waren auch sehr gut und die Kellnerin sehr nett. Das Ambiente ist auch schön auf der kleinen Terrasse. Drinnen auch OK. Können halt nicht so viele Leute kommen und es ist mittags nur bis 14:30 geöffnet. Gerne wieder!

Sehr leckeres Essen, was natürlich auch kein Zufall ist, da der Eigentümer, der frühere Koch der Marktbärbel ist. Auch der Service ist zuvorkommend und freundlich. Preise sind sehr gut und angemessen.

Restauracja jest bardzo urocza, gdzie można zjeść naprawdę pyszne jedzenie. Obiad podano w niespełna 20 minut od momentu zamówienia. Danie smakowało i wyglądało wybornie. Całość w towarzystwie winorośli i jabłonki na tarasie.
