We came here for breakfast last week and were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, the breakfast didn't meet my expectations in any way. The presentation seemed very uninspired, and my roll was so hard on the outside that it practically crumbled when I cut it, while the inside was still cool. The salmon tasted okay, but there was a very small portion. It simply wasn't enough for two rolls. I had to eat the second roll with butter, which was also quite sparse. On the positive side, I'd like to mention the tea. But you can't really go wrong with that. However, I was very disappointed that when we asked for hot chocolate or hot milk with honey, we were simply told that they didn't offer those. I would have appreciated a bit more flexibility and customer focus. Overall, it was a breakfast experience I would have preferred to skip, even though the potential is definitely there. With a little more attention to detail, they could certainly achieve so much more.

We were there with a registered group of 20 people. The owner, a typical Italian mom, received a friendly welcome. The drinks and food arrived surprisingly quickly. It's a shame the children didn't get to eat first. The food was both good and bad. Most of the dishes were delicious, and the portions were large. Four homemade tortellini were a joke, though. The portion size was just for an appetizer. Our complaint was rejected on the grounds that they were handmade. The Bolognese sauce was more like a tomato sauce. Any housewife could make it better. A shame.

Top food, local beer and very friendly staff

The boss took some getting used to, the decor was strange, I paid 2 euros for extra garlic and 12 euros for 2 x 1 cl grappa... no commune!

The food was really bad. It tasted like ready-made food from a packet. The service was friendly, but at first, you were shown to your seat rather rudely. Never again.

Most frozen pizzas from Aldi or Lidl are better. The dough was almost raw in the middle. Other guests came after me, ordered pizzas, ate them, and left again. We celebrated our parents' golden wedding anniversary with family and all. The owner entertained us wonderfully and sang us a song. The food was excellent and the service was prompt. We all had a great time; it was a wonderful, successful evening. Thank you so much to everyone. Highly recommended. 5 stars absolutely deserved.

The manager yelled at us because we wanted to sit inside out of the blazing sun, which a member of staff had already approved. After we were finally allowed in, we were forgotten several times during our visit. The starter was never cleared away, so we quickly did it ourselves to make room for the waiting main course. Our glasses were empty after the starter and remained so until the end. The service was incredibly unfriendly, and the food was completely oversalted. The melon and pineapple decorations on the plates were completely dried out and unappetizing. There were also loud arguments among the waiting staff. The manager yelled loudly at her employees. We went up to the front of the counter to pay because we had been forgotten again. There, we were quickly handed a small glass of juice as a digestif, which we quickly downed. Never again!!!

I haven't eaten so well in a very long time, nor have I been so pampered and welcomed as a guest. I felt more at home than I have in a restaurant in a long time. The food was so delicious, and so was the dessert. If I'm ever in the area again, I absolutely have to go back to the San Marino.

My absolute favorite pizzeria in Celle! Pizza Buffalla is exactly my taste. The tiramisu is also highly recommended. At the end of the meal, good customers get a vitamin drink or a grappa. The manager sang a birthday song for a customer on the beautiful terrace—amazing!

There seems to be such a hype about this place, so we went there with high expectations. We even went twice for a better insight on quality. Bith times very disappointed. I definitely had better pizzas even here in Celle before. The tomato sauce was super salty. My friend had lasagne, drowned in sauce and overly salty. Also tried dessert (chocolate lava cake). I know how it should taste....this was some cheaply premade thing, disgusting. My friend actually felt a bit nauseaus afterwards. Would not recommend or go again...dont get the hype...

Food can't be rated. As we tried to enter the restaurant, a member of staff rudely waved us away without saying anything. It couldn't have been due to a lack of space, as a couple arrived right after us who hadn't reserved and were immediately shown to a table. It couldn't be more unfriendly. At the back of the restaurant, late in the evening, you could see the paper and cardboard waste that had been dumped on the sidewalk. Advertising for Celle...it looked great.

The selection on the menu is inversely proportional to the quality of the food. A waste of money.

I've been back in Celle for the first time in 20 years. Back then, it was welcoming. The food was good. This time, it was the worst I've experienced in a long time. I think the expansion was bad for the quality.

We visited the San Marino during the vintage car and half-timbered house exhibition. Thanks to the good weather, the restaurant was very busy. The staff was friendly and attentive despite the busy schedule. There's not much to say about the food: good as always 😁

On Saturday, July 19, 2025, in the early evening with two people: A completely overrated Italian restaurant. The portions and pizzas are large, the quality mediocre. The taste reminded us of convenience and frozen products. The very long wait, 45 minutes, for the main course, a glass of white wine (0.25 l) (Lugana) for €13.80, was completely excessive. Unfriendly service! A shame considering the restaurant's location and ambiance...

We won't go there again. We had booked a table for 6 people. Upon arriving, they had to check if there was space. We then waited forever for the menu. And then again until we were asked for drinks. We can highly recommend the pizzas. However, we had two No. 73s (pasta with a Bolognese sauce), and they were abysmally bad. We felt like the leftovers were smashed together. It was also unpleasant to note that we weren't asked for more drinks when our glasses were empty. The poor service is certainly due to the waitresses, as the neighboring tables were doing well. However, the place wasn't even half full. Conclusion: Bad service, food - meh. Never again.

We visited the restaurant for lunch and received a warm welcome. The service was friendly and attentive. Our two small dogs were very welcome. We enjoyed the food very much. Card payments were accepted. We highly recommend the restaurant.

We were there on the weekend, and the beer garden was very busy. Unfortunately, we waited over an hour for the pizza, and the dough wasn't fully cooked on all of them. Some of the toppings were also sparse. It felt like a mass-production operation. It's a shame, it used to be different.

In my opinion, San Marino is the most authentic and best Italian restaurant in Celle. The fish dishes, in particular, are always a delight.

Riktigt dåligt! Kanske fel av oss, skaldjur på en måndag, oätligt, skickade ut maten och fick in två nya rätter, de gick inte heller att äta. När vi gick vile vi ta med resten av pellegrinoflaskan för 90 kr. Det fick vi inte. Ägarinnan var fruktansvärt otrevlig och kallade oss för förfärliga saker på italienska. Nu kan jag italienska och vet vad hon hävde ur sig.

I'm from Hamburg...and I often travel to Celle and eat at the San Marino restaurant. 👍 A wonderful restaurant, super friendly service, and the food is incredibly delicious. ☕ And the coffee is the icing on the cake. Thank you very much.

This was not good food. The homemate pasta was not homemate, it was tasteless and bland and for sure store bought. They decorated af mushroom pasta with watermelon and pineapple slices. Witch says it all. The pebersteak was ok cooked and was decorated kiwi and watermelon. The fries were bad and so was the patatos. The red wine was very varm and very bad.

Absolutely recommended! The food and drinks were great, and the dessert was the highlight! If I lived in Celle, I'd probably be lost! La chefa is the highlight!

While looking for pizza and pasta, we came across San Marino. We really liked the menu and the setting. The people and the atmosphere made you feel like you were actually in Italy. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The pizza was delicious, not too thin and not too thick, well-topped, and fluffy. When we ordered dessert, we were given two sets of cutlery without being asked, which was a great way for us to try it.

For us, it's simply a top-notch Italian restaurant with an exceptional chef who's almost always present. Reservations are essential, as it gets very busy at peak times.

The pizza tonno was quite good, but not the pizza I wanted. I would have liked salmon and Gorgonzola on a spinach pizza, and I was willing to pay more for the salmon. I was told that wasn't possible, and they reiterated emphatically that they wouldn't do "that sort of thing." So why would they write on the menu that additional ingredients can be added for a fixed surcharge? Completely idiotic behavior.

Wir waren mit 14 Personen an einem Samstagabend dort zum Essen. Wir wurden sehr schnell bedient. Sowohl Getränke als auch das Essen kamen sehr schnell. Gute Qualität der Speisen bei einer wirklich sehr vielfältigen Auswahl. Die Bedienung war freundlich und am Ende haben wir ein sehr unterhaltsames Gespräch mit der Chefin geführt. Sehr empfehlenswert!

We sat in the packed outdoor area in beautiful weather. First, a large mixed salad with plenty of simple iceberg lettuce and a subtle dressing, which we adjusted to our taste with vinegar and oil. Both pizzas were well-topped: Pizza Diavolo with spicy salami. Our request for extra spice was met with a "spicy" tomato sauce. The broccoli and feta cheese pizza (individual request, not on the menu) was okay. Both pizzas had a one-finger-width crust. The dough was rather thick but fluffy. A generous tomato sauce and cheese were added. Service was quick and attentive. Thankfully, no blaring music. We'll be back.

Very good food, all the staff were super nice, although there were two buses of Dutch people eating there and there was a lot to do. A nice final chat with the boss rounded off the visit. Highly recommended, we would love to come back.

Scandalous. It was 8.15pm and there were at least 8 free tables outside, just because the waitress wanted me to stay inside. Ridiculous and this way of telling lies is not acceptable. A person like that should wash the dishes instead of losing possible customers and I was ready to eat appetizer, first course and dessert and instead I go to the competition!

A short vacation in Italy. Authentic cuisine and a boss with attitude. Very child friendly. We always enjoy coming there from Hanover.

Service: The drinks were forgotten to be served, so we ate our meal without them; they were noted on the bill. No high chair was offered for our daughter (20 months). Food: The pizza was filling because the dough was much too thick, it wasn't enjoyable. San Marino shouldn't just be full, at least after so many years in Celle there should be more. You have to try harder again! Price/performance: It wasn't right, San Marino showed its bad side today. You went in in a good mood, were disappointed and came out in a bad mood. Conclusion: Won't come back.

No, not recommended. A pizza scampi for 14.50 with 11 shrimps was very lean, the garlic mentioned couldn't be tasted. Apple spritzer for the price of €5. Also half a slice of lemon juice without asking. The boss on the terrace was talking at a volume that rang across the entire terrace. You were confronted with your medical history without being asked. I imagine a quiet and relaxed lunch differently. For us, never again San Marino.

Pizza was okay (Parma with lots of cheese but no rocket - rather unusual), service was nice but could be more attentive. We each had to wait quite a long time before we could get rid of our wishes.

This is unique! A restaurant with many souvenirs. Sometimes like a living room... The food is classic Italian. Honest Italian, homemade pasta, friendly service, family atmosphere. Fair prices. All around an experience! For little money.

Unmöglichen Service. Sitzen seit 12 Uhr im Lokal mit 12 Personen und warten aufs Essen. Es ist jetzt 13:40h und ausser "faulen" Ausreden passiert nichts. Nie wieder. Dann kommt das Essen, wird aber sofort wieder abgeräumt. War leider der falsche Tisch.

One of the best restaurants in and around Celle, at peak times you may have to wait for a seat, but it's worth it. You will be served quickly and you don't have to wait long for your food. The service is friendly even though they are busy, you feel like you are part of a family. The menu is good and the food is excellent, I haven't eaten so well in a long time.

Spent a lovely weekend in Celle and had Italian food. A bit creamy but tasty, the homemade noodles are particularly recommended. Price level is slightly higher.

Unfortunately I have to say that our last visit to your restaurant was extremely disappointing. While my pasta tasted good, my companion's dish (salmon) was of very poor quality - the fish was dry and tasteless. There were also significant deficiencies in the service: the service was unfriendly, drinks were forgotten, and things were cleared away even though people were still eating at the table. What was particularly annoying was that my two-year-old daughter wasn't given plain noodles with ketchup. While this may not be true to Italian cuisine, I would have liked more flexibility and understanding for a young child. In addition, we subsequently noticed that there was an error on the invoice and that we had been overcharged. Such experiences leave a very bad impression. Unfortunately, due to the combination of poor service quality, poor communication and incorrect billing, this will be our last visit.

Since the pizzas are tiny in comparison, we opted for three pasta dishes - all of which were tasteless. The ratio between pasta and sauce wasn't right. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant, it has nothing to do with a quality Italian restaurant.

Not comfortable, very kitschy. Ordered pizza and didn't eat it. Because the oil just ran down the pizza. No crispy pizza. Worst pizza ever in a restaurant.

Unfortunately, our visit today was very disappointing. Neither the food, the service nor the ambience was convincing. The owner seemed very unfriendly and annoyed from the start. When she complained about one of our pizzas, she reacted angrily and with incomprehension, because unfortunately the base of the vegetarian spinach pizza was extremely flat, hard and inedible. The other pizza we ordered, on the other hand, was noticeably more risen and softer. The topping with frozen spinach was also tasteless and seemed careless. But the highlight was the new spinach pizza: it was also topped with ham! Great for a vegetarian.
