Unfortunately I can only give the San Marino 2 stars. We were guests many years ago and had chosen the restaurant today for a family reunion halfway. Our waitress really tried very hard, the other lady and the boss seemed quite harsh, everyone seemed very stressed. But the farewell was very friendly. We found the ambience inside to be incredibly overloaded. We felt like we were in a cross between a junk shop and my grandmother's living room. This made everything seem very restless and arbitrary. About the food itself: The carbonara was apparently the Germanized version with cream, not just egg and parmesan. It was creamy and relatively tasteless. My calzone barely had any sauce, but had 4 layers of simple cooked ham and very thick, very raw, tasteless mushroom slices. My son's salami pizza was mostly very soggy in the middle and unfortunately way too salty, and unfortunately the edge wasn't crispy at all. My other son's lasagna was also too salty. The two dishes from the special pasta menu were okay, but nothing more. Overall it's unfortunately not worth more than 2 stars, and that's only because of the attentive service and the friendly farewell.

A bit cheesy for some, for others it fits perfectly with the “operator”, who can definitely be described as authentic and an absolute “original”! The restaurant has something if you get involved and has a space inside that you would never have expected! The boss has "the place" very well under control, and we were served without exception in a friendly, competent and tongue-in-cheek manner - the costs for food and drink were also in the usual mid-range, but also reasonable! In my opinion, San Marino is the best Italian restaurant in Celle and the surrounding area. Silvia is the heart and soul and, together with her excellent team, puts a smile on the guests' faces. The food is excellent. Clear recommendation.

Very unfriendly service and loud atmosphere, even though there were few guests. The extra portion of homemade pasta we ordered was very small (just too expensive at €6 extra) and was almost cold at the table when it was served. Very disappointing, especially since we had already eaten there a few times and we had experienced that things could be better.

Actually I can't give any stars, you feel like you're in a junk shop and not a restaurant, but that's a matter of taste. There were a lot of waitresses in the store, but there was no one who was friendly. We got the starter before the drinks, the cola was stale, the Alster was mixed with cheap lemon juice where we didn't taste any beer. And the food was subpar, the spaghetti was swimming in fat and was completely over salted and peppery. I could list a lot more here but I think it's enough. It's a shame about the beautiful shop that once had a very, very good reputation in Celle.

We always enjoyed being guests in San Marino. The food tastes good, but unfortunately it's difficult now when you have a small change. Suddenly you can no longer deviate. Why? Dishes only as on the menu. Difficult. You often have to wait a long time for service to come back. Too bad. In the small shop it used to be nicer. But still we had a great time and the food was delicious.

Just round the corner from the hotel I was staying at. Located on a beautiful street lined with buildings dating back to the 1600’s. Nice out door seating being served by young bubbly staff. Pricing is very reasonable (read: value for money). I ordered the spaghetti carbonara with a nice local beer. 🍺. Pasta was good and just portion size. Will be back next time and try out their pizza.

The best Italian restaurant in Celle. Much of the magic comes from the owner Sylvia. She is a special picturesque person with a big love of people. The dishes are big and tasty and fresh. The atmosphere is quite non German rather Italian, happy and lovely. Have been there numerous times and will always come back to Sylvia.

I rarely write reviews, but the owner of the San Marino is simply wonderful. Super friendly service, very tasty food and very fair prices. We were there for my grandmother's birthday and the manager sang her a great song. So did several other guests with birthdays. The San Marino really lives up to its name as “the ristorante with heart”, and everyone who is ever in Celle should stop by here. A big ❤️ to you from me.

Wir saßen in diesem prallvollen Lokal sehr gut auf der schönen Sommerterrasse. Für uns war das Highlight die sehr gute Auswahl an frischem Fisch. Tipptopp! Der Wolfsbarsch war sehr lecker und der gefüllte Tintenfisch in aromatischer Tomatensoße ebenfalls. Auch die frischen Kartoffeln geschwenkt in Rosmarinbutter waren lecker. Ein großes Dankeschön an die fitte Chefin und ihr langjähriges Team!

Unfortunately no recommendation at all. Food is okay, service is not. As a guest, my nephew doesn't have to be seriously insulted by the boss for wearing a hat?! I ask you... I want to feel welcome and comfortable in a restaurant and not be made to feel like I am unwanted before I order.

As always, we felt very comfortable. Nice atmosphere and very good food. The mussels were absolutely fresh and delicious. We always enjoy coming here! April 18th is actually always a fixed date! And having found ourselves in this restaurant on a recommendation, my boyfriend and I decided to try lasagna and onion soup and also ordered a glass of wine, to which the waitress looked at us disapprovingly and asked why we were taking so little food. The food was brought quickly enough, despite the fact that there were a lot of people in the place. But the presentation left us with dubious impressions, because the onion soup was brought to us not only in an iron plate, but also with softened bread in the soup. However, when we decided to take the bill, we had to wait a very long time, and after asking three waiters for it, only then 15 minutes later they brought it to us. But the lasagna was delicious

Really good food for the price, lots to choose from, cozy place whether it's inside or outside. The service is good, the restaurant was full, yet they had enough for good service and the food came quickly 87 euros for two starters main course and red wine

Fandt dette sted netop via Tripadvisor og vi fortrød ikke valget af denne restaurant på vores ene dag i Celle. Betjeningen var hyggelig, hjælpsom og meget venlig. Maden kom hurtigt og som vi bestilte den (blandet forretter og hovedretter sammen) og smagte himmelsk. Og stemningen på restaurantens udendørsområde var helt i top

The place, the ristorante, reminds me a lot of Italy. All that's missing is the sea and a breeze Sea wind, then the Mediterranean idea would be reality. The food is very good and as I said, the service Italian friendly and attentive.

Unfortunately we had to leave the restaurant after three quarters of an hour (unfortunately we hadn't made a reservation.) My wife had ordered sole, but unfortunately she got everything else except sole. I ordered ravioli stuffed with ricotta and spinach. It was pasta from industrial mass production. No revelation in terms of taste. The service left a lot to be desired. All in all, I have never enjoyed worse Italian food.

I just love coming back here for years. The city is unimaginable without Silvia and San Marino. The pasta selection is great and the service is always impeccable. Going to San Marino is always a feel-good event for me.

Først og fremmest var der virkelig mange fluer på terrassen, og den slags der er der af en årsag. Vi fandt dog først ud af det efter vi havde fået maden, for der blev vi overfaldet. Andre borde var faktisk plaget endnu mere. Min mand og jeg fik brucheta til forret og fettucino med laks til hovedret. Først nævnte var vitterligt et stykke ristet brød med en skive røget laks, ret kedeligt. Men indrømmet det var billigt. Næste ret var ok, men der var kæmpe forskel på mængden at laks på de 2 tallerkener. Vi nævnte begge forhold da vi betalte, men der var ingen umiddelbart forståelse eller tager ansvar. Vi kommer aldrig tilbage!!!

Unfortunately I can't give it more than 3 stars due to the poor service and small portions. As far as service goes, not once were we asked if everything was OK with our food etc. and our glasses remained empty for most of the meal until I had to tell the waitress that we were thirsty. The portion size for an adult was a bit small and the bruschetta was a bit soggy. The kids pizza was good and I think that would be my next choice. The dessert (lava cake) was hard (baked) in the middle, which is a shame. The owner is very friendly and I would come again.

Larger Italian restaurant with outdoor seating, which is often used by guests in sunny weather. Extensive menu with inserts for fresh pasta dishes. The gnocci with Bolognese sauce should also be completely homemade. So much for the visit and the choice to compare with my favorite Italian in Hattingen. The food was okay with a clay-like sauce and some minced meat and very pale gnocci. Friendly service.

Everything was great, the food was delicious.

We went there for lunch for the first time yesterday, had Spaghetti Frutti di Mare and Spaghetti Carbonara. The pasta was homemade, the seafood was fresh and the carbonara was also very tasty. The staff very friendly. The first spontaneous visit was worth it and definitely wouldn't be our last there.

We were here for breakfast. Small selection of breakfast options and some of the toppings are very clear for the price. Coffee and tea are a good option. The service was nice and courteous.

Very tasty food served by very friendly service staff

We like to drive almost 40km one way for this restaurant. We like the food very much and it always gives us a little dream trip to Italy. The restaurant is busy, so it is advisable to reserve a table, especially on weekends. The tables are a bit too "full" for my taste, but that's just a minor thing. The waiters even noticed that it was my birthday and they promptly presented me with a helium wish balloon and sang, I was overwhelmed! Warmth is very important. We also like to eat there because the whole package just fits there! Grace 😊

Very tasty, we celebrated my daughter's 19th birthday there and had a good time in the cozy and personal atmosphere. Sylvia sang in Italian (several times, there were other birthday children) and as always there was a lovingly prepared dessert and a delicious digestif at the end. Ate in the rather kitschy restaurant yesterday. The food itself was OK but not particularly great either. The service staff, on the other hand, were not OK. We were served but they didn't really want to hear what we had to say. My husband criticized the "seafood" because it tasted a bit old, but no one wanted to hear it. I find it a bit unprofessional if you just ask to walk away. Overall, you feel like you're just being processed there.

Quite a kitschy and overloaded atmosphere for an Italian... I ordered Pizza Frutti the Mare but unfortunately the Fruttis tasted old or fermented... the waitress wasn't very interested... let's see what the bill says... there are definitely some in Celle better Italians

If you know Celle, then you also know San Marino and Silvia. A soul of a human being! It's always nice and the food is delicious! We always enjoy coming. ♥️

We had lunch as a very large group and were served satisfactorily. The food came very quickly, but the quality was very different. Basically, you can recommend the extra cards (not available online) for homemade pasta, while the main card is rather neglected. With the meal there was free (probably homemade) delicious bread and at the end a small strawberry smoothie was served for free. The bruschetta was basically just this bread with tomatoes on it and therefore rather unnecessary. The presentation of the dishes was interesting and some dishes were a bit very salty (e.g. the gnocchi and tortelloni in cream sauce). Unfortunately, my colleague couldn't determine whether the gnocchi were actually homemade. The black tortelloni with porcini mushrooms and scampi and the fagottini with gorgonzola, on the other hand, were from a factory and tasted very, very tasty. But there could have been more tortelloni. The pizzas (relatively hard) and the lasagne are not recommended, as they were very runny, tasteless and not really a lasagna. Basically, I would like to come back again to try the rest of the homemade pasta. Addendum: I ordered the tortelloni filled with lamb fillet, chestnuts and Gorgonzola sauce to take away and unfortunately it wasn't that good. The sauce had way too much butter and the tortelloni filling tasted like nothing. The lamb fillet was also underwhelming and apparently wasn't in the pasta, but in the sauce. At least there were three extra slices of bread.

It was a lovely evening with relaxed entertainment.

My pizza was in the oven a little too long. I didn't taste the garlic, it was too much salmon for me. The only way I know it is that the salmon goes on the pizza before it is baked. It was different here. Is a matter of taste.

Wirklich sehr gutes Restaurant. Gutes Essen, sehr familiäres Ambiente. Typisch italienisch. Die hausgemachten Nudeln sind ein Schmaus. Gerne wieder.

Leider ein total Ausfall! Auf die Speisen und Getränke mussten wir ewig warten. Zwischen Vorspeise und Hauptspeise haben wir über eine Stunde gewartet und auf nachbestellte Getränke 30 min. Erst nach mehrmaligen Nachfragen wurden uns die Getränke gebracht. Essen was überbacken sein sollte nicht überbacken geliefert und am Ende noch vorbehalten bekommen das man 3 x rauchen war , bei einer Zeitspanne von knapp 3 Stunden Aufenthalt. Trotziges Rausreden bei dem Hinweis auf die Probleme die entstanden waren. Keine Entschädigung angeboten und noch nicht mal ne Entschuldigung .Die Chefin völlig unfreundlich. Für uns das erste und letzte mal.
