Vor einem Konzert in der Grugshalle wegen der Nähe und den Bewertungen das Sa Rang Bang besucht. Zum Glück hatten wir reserviert. Um 18 Uhr war es schon gut gefüllt. Optisch etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber mit Charme. Man merkt sofort, dass es etabliert ist, dass viele Besucher häufiger hier sind. Angenehme Atmosphäre und nette Bedienung. Das Essen, wir hatten ein Menü, war gut, lecker, bot einen guten Einblick in Koreanisches Essen. Kein Schickimicki, kein Kulturenmix, einfach passend und gut. Wir würden wiederkommen.

Es war heute soo schön. Das Essen war wirklich sehr gut und das Preis Leistungsverhältnis passt. Der Service ist gut und sehr freundlich. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Ich kann das Restaurant nur empfehlen.

Wir haben verschiedene Gerichte bestellt, aber ich habe vergessen, von allen Fotos zu machen. Hier sind aber ein paar. Das Essen war sehr lecker, mit frischem Gemüse. Besonders gut haben mir Kimchi Bockum (gebratenes Schweinefleisch mit Kimchi) und Doeju Anschim Bulgogi geschmeckt.

Typisch koreanisches Essen, toller Service. Abhängig von der Messe Essen kann die Parkplatzsituation etwas herausfordernd sein.

Jedes Mal wenn wir hier essen sind wir überrascht, wie viel Geschmack in einem Gericht stecken kann! Die Leute sind super freundlich und man fühlt sich einfach wohl hier. Das Bibimbap und die scharfe Rindfleischsuppe sind meine Favoriten. Auf jeden Fall ein Muss für jeden, der in Essen ist. Seid bereit für etwas Schärfe in eurem Leben!

Wer gut koreanisch essen gehen will ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben. Gutes Essen, freundliche Bedienung und offene Atmosphäre. Alles in bester Ordnung.

Leider haben wir nur selten die Möglichkeiten auf unseren Reisen durch das Ruhrgebiet dieses spezielle koreanische Restaurant zu besuchen. Des Essen schmeckt ausgezeichnet, der Inhaber bedient selbst am Tisch. Es ist von Vorteil zu reservieren, vorallem ab Freitag bzw. an Wochenenden und Feiertagen. Die Einrichtung ist originell, in Teilen etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Dieser Umstand macht aber auch einen gewissen Charme aus. Wir kommen gern wieder.

Wir waren mal wieder im koreanischen Restaurant Sa Rang Bang in Essen-Rüttenscheid und waren wie immer absolut begeistert! Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist wirklich top – für die Qualität bekommt man hier richtig viel geboten. Das Essen war einfach hervorragend: frisch, authentisch und unglaublich lecker. Man merkt sofort, dass hier mit Liebe gekocht wird. Egal ob Fleischgerichte oder Beilagen – alles war perfekt abgestimmt und geschmacklich auf den Punkt. Auch das Personal verdient ein großes Lob: super freundlich, aufmerksam und herzlich. Man fühlt sich direkt wohl und willkommen. Wir kommen schon seit Jahren immer wieder gerne hierher und freuen uns jedes Mal aufs Neue auf das Essen – auch diesmal war es wieder ein absoluter Top-Besuch! Kleiner Tipp: Gerade am Wochenende sollte man vorher reservieren, da es schnell voll wird.

Absolut wundervolles Restaurant. Das Ambiente und der Service sind ein Traum. Das Essen ist äußerst schmackhaft, man muss allerdings finden was einem liegt. Ich kann dieses Restaurant uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Wir waren in diesem wunderschön eingerichteten koreanischen Restaurant zum Abendessen. Wir wählten das 30-Euro-Menü (Getränke nicht inbegriffen) und alles war köstlich. Besonders die gebratene Ente mit Sauce und Gemüse war ein Highlight. 👏🏼 Der Service war exzellent und freundlich. Ich kann leider keine 5 Sterne vergeben, da uns 7 Euro für eine kleine Flasche Wasser berechnet wurden.

Ein etwas schwieriger Start mit dem Parken, aber am Ende vermutlich halblegal im Wohngebiet ohne "Ticket" geparkt. Im Restaurant selbst eine überaus freundliche und hilfsbereite Bedienung. Die Speisekarte war zwar eher etwas kürzer, aber das Essen war sehr, sehr gut und lecker. Absolut positives Fazit und eine klare Empfehlung.

Wir waren geschäftlich in Essen und suchten nach einem Ort zum Abendessen. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Ambiente sehr schön und landestypisch. Essen war sehr gut. Ich habe selten zu gut asiatisch gegessen. Das Lokal besteht seit über 40 Jahren. Das sagt schon einiges 👍 Inhaber beide sehr freundlich. Danke für den schönen Abend und alles Gute.

Wir besuchten das Restaurant zu viert, unsere Freunde wählten à la Carte, wir ein Menü. Was mir besonders gut gefallen hat, war das unsere Gänge sehr schnell serviert wurden, um unsere Freunde nicht zu lange warten zu lassen. Der Service war generell sehr gut, super freundlich, besonders der Chef des Hauses ist ausgesprochen unterhaltsam. Das Essen ist ebenfalls sehr gut.

Waren heute zum ersten Mal hier und hatten das Menü Nr.1 Das Ambiente ist sicher Geschmacksache aber der Service und die Speisen waren Top! Besonders gefallen hat uns,dass man durch das Menü mehrere Sachen probieren konnte und so einen guten Einblick in die koreanische Küche bekommen hat. Das Kimchi war übrigens herausragend! Schöner Fermentationsgrad und angenehme Schärfe. Wir kommen gerne wieder :)

Viel braucht man nicht zu schreiben. Das Essen ist einfach nur hervorragend. Scharf ist scharf - pikant ist pikant. Sonderwünsche kein Problem. Reservierung unbedingt.

Tolles Restaurant an der Gruga Halle. Familien geführt, top. Leckere Speisen und tolle Getränke. Kimschi is hervorragend. Klare Empfehlung für jeden der lecker Essen gehen möchte. Komme definitiv wieder.

We come here every year for Spiel. Unfortunately not for next year I'm sure. We sat and after 15 minutes of no-one coming to the table to even give us a menu my partner got up and grabbed them himself. Another 10 minutes before they took our order. Then the soups order was wrong but they took so long we ate them anyways. Then we waited for over an hour and 20 minutes between the soup and the main dish to come, no one came to the table to ask is if we wanted drinks or explain to us why the order took so long. They are clearly understaffed in the kitchen and it shows, it's a shame because the food is good but not worth sitting for over 3 hours for a soup and a main dish.

Saturday evening, we're lucky and get a table spontaneously. The staff is very polite, and everything goes quickly. Jasmine tea, Shanghai soup, bulgogi. Everything is delicious and well prepared and presented. The decor may be a bit dated, but honestly, it's a good fit for a long-established Korean restaurant in Rüttenscheid. So, it deserves 5 stars.

I ate here a while ago with my parents, who had also been to the restaurant when it was located in other parts of Essen. That must have been around the last millennium. I was very impressed by the delicious food, and they still thought it was very good too!

Quaint restaurant between Gruga and Rü. The food was very tasty. Unfortunately, it wasn't as spicy as advertised (in my case, not at all). I was even asked specifically if I'd seen that it said "very spicy," to which I replied yes. The owners/chef were probably worried that, as a German, I wouldn't be able to handle the Korean spice. Still, a good visit. :)

We really enjoy coming to the Kim family's Korean restaurant. The food is of very good quality and the service is very friendly. The restaurant is quaint and could certainly use some updating, but perhaps that's part of its charm. It's not a restaurant that constantly reinvents itself—but maybe it doesn't need to. We'll be happy to keep coming back! PS: The duck is delicious!

The Sa Rang Bang restaurant is located in Essen, close to the trade fair center, making it an ideal place for trade fair visitors to enjoy a meal outside of the usual business hours. They offer affordable Chinese and Korean dishes. The service is attentive, but a table reservation is highly recommended.

Of course you can recommend the restaurant... definitely to anyone who likes Korean. The menu selection isn't large, but you can find something to eat. I think it's relatively expensive...parking is poor...only the large parking lot is very expensive...another €8.

My husband and I went there for the first time and absolutely loved it. The food was delicious – the bulgogie in particular was wonderfully tender and perfectly seasoned. The service was friendly, attentive and pleasantly reserved. Overall, a very relaxed and enjoyable evening. We are already looking forward to the next time.

I took menu 1 and was very satisfied. It was my first time eating Korean food and it was a very nice experience. The waiters were super nice and the food was also an experience. Even though I don't have a comparison, I definitely recommend it! (Unfortunately the kimchi salad is missing from the photos and the Ku Man Du had two pieces)

A nice Korean restaurant with extremely friendly staff and a pleasant Far Eastern flair. The dishes taste good and the portions are also fair. You get full, but don't overeat a meal. The limited selection of vegetarian options spoils the experience a little. Furthermore, it should be mentioned negatively that some dishes in the menu are explicitly advertised as being prepared at the table, but this then consists of the raw meat being shown to you shortly before preparation. Overall, Sa Rang Bang is recommended.

Taste very good. However, the rice is served in small bowls without a lid, This means it gets cold pretty quickly. You should think about that and choose a version with a lid. Otherwise nothing to complain about.

Although the food and service in the restaurant are not good, the prices are quite high. 50 euros per person, I will never go there again.

As outsiders, we only became aware of Sa Rang Bang because of its proximity to the Gruga Hall. This turned out to be a happy coincidence as both service and food were excellent, despite the restaurant being very busy on a Saturday evening. A small star deduction because at least the larger hall seems somehow uncomfortable.

Experience at the Korean restaurant Sa Rang Bang in Essen Sa Rang Bang in Essen offers an interesting culinary experience, especially for lovers of Korean cuisine. After my visit, I asked myself who I would recommend this restaurant to. If someone wants very good Korean food? There are better ones. If anyone wants to have an authentic Korean experience? Rather not. It is a western restaurant with Korean food. If someone wants to be full for little money? Here too you get more for your money. The food wasn't bad, even tasty, but it didn't blow your mind. Nothing I would go to another city for. However, the ingredients seem good and fresh. Overall, I have the feeling that the Korean food experience has been Germanized so that the more well-heeled Rüttenscheider community feels comfortable there without overwhelming their taste buds. Do you want really good Korean food? Drive to Korea House in Düsseldorf Do you want to be full for good money? Drive to Nirvana down the road

We love this Korean! Ask the waiters for recommendations, they know what and how to eat. We love the duck, the marinated beef in spicy sauce that he prepares shortly beforehand. Absolute recommendation!

Ein Fleischgericht bestellt und in der Schale waren drei kleine Scheiben Rind -Auf Nachfrage wurde ich ignoriert und gesagt ich habe das Gericht bestellt. Auf weitere Nachfrage, ob ich Rind noch zusätzlich bestellen kann, wurde ich schlichtweg ignoriert - Fazit : für Reis habe ich ich knapp 17 Euro bezahlt. Schade denn mein Partner hatte genau das Gegenteil und der Geschmack war gut.

Ordered the following meat dish: Heading of the dish was meat dish - beef with vegetables and rice. My dish was served as follows: A bowl full of dry rice arranged on top: six slices of zucchini, half a handful of carrot sticks, three mushrooms and three small slices of beef - topped with a fried egg with a spoonful of sauce. When I asked if I could get some meat with it, I was told that I had ordered the dish. A second request as to whether I could get meat with it was simply ignored! After that we weren't really paid attention to anymore - even drinks were brought to Tosch after three requests. It's a real shame because my partner had a great dish and the taste was good. Unfortunately, it no longer gave me a good feeling as a guest. Conclusion: very poor hospitality, as Krutik was not wanted and simply ignored. Instead of the meat dish I ordered, I got a bowl of rice with some vegetables and a hint of beef for a price of over €16!

Very friendly, very tasty. It was a shame that a soup that was specifically ordered without bean sprouts was then served with bean sprouts. But it wasn't a problem to have the rest of the soup packed up to take away and we were also able to get a bedside table with two forks to share.

Right from the start the food was amazing, the lobster soup was great, no question, the sweet and sour chicken was very, very good. But the service, well, was very spartan and a little careless, with a background noise like a train station. Prices too low for the quality in my opinion. But something else is comfortable - we ate and went out. As I said, the food is great but the rest takes some getting used to if you want to have a nice evening, that sort of thing.

Diese Restaurant ist seit über 40 Jahren mein Lieblings Restaurant. Damals in Essen Überruhr bin ich schon mit Mitte 20 gerne dort hingegangen. Dann war mein Lieblings Koreaner plötzlich verschwunden. :( Geschlossen, spurlos verschwunden. 22 Jahre später durch einen puren Zufall in Essen Rüttenscheid wieder gefunden. Die Freude war groß. Da meine Frau und ich vor so vielen Jahren bei einem Essen im Sa Rang Bang näher kamen. Das Essen selber ist immer noch perfekt und lecker. Einfach unvergesslich gut :))

We love Korean cuisine. And here the food is the way we like it. Good portion size very good taste. However, the mandu rolls were a special feature and surprise. Until now we only knew them as dumplings. All in all, we are more than satisfied. We'll stop by every now and then as unfortunately food isn't right around the corner.

I recommended the restaurant to my friends and had dinner with them today. ..in my opinion the restaurant and the quality have deteriorated significantly. The "standard" Korean dishes in this restaurant are okay but not anymore... (I tried the food at friends' houses). The beef fillet steak (medium)..a "catastrophe"...see photo of the plate (BEEF FILET?) ..the tough, almost fried piece of meat has nothing to do with fillet. Sprouts, onions barely fried (no trace of roasted aromas), in an indefinable sauce. Pineapple seems to come from a can. Rice is already cold and a sticky mass. Today that total disappointment. In a customer-unfriendly manner, they didn't really agree on the payment, but even though the food was completely returned (I had lost my appetite), they still asked for half the price when billing. The ambience in terms of furnishings, seating in the restaurant, etc. was also bad now due to many years of use and no longer really in keeping with today's times... old wooden chairs, partially worn out cushions on chairs that have them... it becomes uncomfortable as the evening progresses. I will not recommend this restaurant anymore!
