Restaurant Römerterrasse in Ransbach-Baumbach

Eine Ära geht zu Ende! Nach 40 Jahren im Familienbesitz schließt die Römerterrasse heute ihre Pforten. SCHADE! Sehr viele schöne Feiern habe ich dort erlebt. Ich wünsche Bosko und seiner Familie alles Gute für den neuen Lebensabschnitt. Unsere Henkersmahlzeit von heute in den Bildern.

Update 15.06.2025 Vorweg, das hier geschriebene ist ausschließlich mein und meiner Frau persönlicher Eindruck. Beim betreten des Lokals sitzt der (Junior)Chef mit anderen „Thekengästen“ an der Theke und trinkt munter ein Bierchen nach dem anderen, Sorry das geht gar nicht, wäre bei seinem Vater der dieses Lokal vorher führte undenkbar gewesen, Thekengäste die lautstark diskutieren und mit jedem weiteren Bierchen impulsiver werden, das passt nicht in ein „Restaurant“, man sollte sich entscheiden, betreibe ich eine Kneipe oder ein Restaurant, beides ist schwierig, ich möchte in Ruhe essen und werde das Lokal in Zukunft unter anderem meiden. Zum Essen: Salatbuffet eine Frechheit, Bohnen, Mais, rote Beete etc. alles aus der Dose, so sieht Lustlosigkeit aus, kroatische Küche ohne Krautsalat 😂 mann war der Krautsalat bei seinem Vater lecker gewesen 😋 Hauptgericht: Fleisch trocken gebraten, bei Schweinefilet schon eine Kunst….. Cevapcici scheint ein Fertigprodukt zu sein, alle exakt gleiche Länge, Konsistenz und dicke, von Hand unmöglich so hinzubekommen. Haben dies alles der Bedienung gesagt, die sehr nett war mitgeteilt, scheint aber keinen zu Interessieren……. sliwowitz oder einen julischka aufs Haus wie es früher einmal war leider Fehlanzeige. Schade für dieses ehemalige tolle Lokal, alles Gute für die Zukunft. Alte Rezession für den Vorpächter: Sehr netter und authentischer Wirt, bis jetzt immer sehr gut dort gegessen, gehen immer wieder gerne dort hin. 🙂

Wir waren voriges Jahr hier schon mal essen, da war das Essen mega. Heute war es mehr als enttäuschend. Die Leber war trocken, sie hat einfach zu lange auf dem Grill gelegen, das Schnitzel hat säuerlich geschmeckt wurde aber gegen ein neues Gericht ausgetauscht. Schade...sehr schade...das die Teller heiß waren , aber die Pommes Frites lau warm und der Reis bei einigen oben lauwarm aber unten eiskalt war obwohl die Teller heiß waren. DieSalatbar...war überschaulich...das allerdings in der Schüssel mit den Tomaten nur eine handvoll war...ist erstaunlich ,da das Resturant ja erst um 17 Uhr öffnet und wir 9 Personen kurz nach 17 Uhr unsere reservierten Plätze eingenommen hatten.

Bisher waren wir hier immer sehr zufrieden, aber dieses mal war die Portion Fleisch, angeblich 200g, so klein...dafür mit jede Menge Pommes aufgefüllt...und medium bestellt, es war komplett durch, bei der Größe auch nicht verwunderlich. Geschmeckt hat es !

Waren mit 8 Personen dort essen. Katastrophale Akustik. Konnten uns aufgrund einer Feier am Nebentisch nicht unterhalten. Essen günstig aber nichts besonderes. Durchschnitt. Zu Hause stellten wir fest, dass einige Getränke zuviel auf der Rechnung standen!

Ein toller Laden mit sehr gutem Essen und angenehmer Atmosphäre.

We enjoyed going to the Römerterrasse restaurant for decades when our parents ran the restaurant. The food was always consistently good. Unfortunately, that has changed significantly. The idea of ​​offering a salad buffet was great. Unfortunately there are only canned vegetables there. Not even the carrots are fresh... We were also disappointed by the main courses, including the completely overcooked salmon fillet. Maybe that explains why so few guests come. Too bad!

We spontaneously got a table here on Friday evening. The service was attentive but not intrusive. For a more than fair price we got a large and tasty grilled plate - plus a salad from the well-stocked salad bar. Yummy!

We were there for the first time and thought it was great! The grill plate and rump steak were both great, the service was very friendly and attentive. Redeeming the voucher book also worked without any problems, highly recommended.

So far we have been happy all these years. But unfortunately it wasn't a delicious meal. Ćevapčići was so dry and unfortunately they completely forgot to season it. Onion cubes stand in a puddle, probably having been frozen. My partner's two meat skewers were also so dry that you couldn't get through them with a knife. Of course we mentioned that and let it go back. But unfortunately no one was interested.

It was very good friendly people great food

Unfortunately I was very disappointed, the meat was more than dead and vegetables couldn't be ordered because there was nothing left (and this was on a Saturday at 7 p.m.). Service was limited. You had the feeling that those who watched football and Sky were more important than the guests who booked a table and wanted to eat comfortably.

Very tasty schnitzels eaten on schnitzel day, service very friendly. Nice atmosphere and well heated in the cold outside temperatures. Parking spaces available. We'll definitely come back.

Not very convincing. The waitress (man) didn't smile throughout the entire visit. No small talk. The sauce for the schnitzel was guaranteed to come straight out of the bag, tasted subterranean and was carelessly slapped onto the schnitzel. The salad buffet was unimaginative and had ready-made dressings. Ambiete seems more like a sports bar - two TVs with winter sports were on the whole time. I can't understand some of the very positive reviews - possibly below average standards. A restaurant that no one needs.

We were there for the first time today and unfortunately also the last time. The meal took about 80 minutes, even though the restaurant wasn't full. Maybe they could have just explained to us why it was taking so long. The calamari was from the freezer, which was honestly admitted when I asked about the meal, but I wouldn't have ordered it if it had been on the menu and I had known it beforehand. At the price of €20 I just thought that they were freshly prepared and not just taken out of the freezer and into the deep fryer. Were not good at all. Please just write it on the card if it is a convenience product. 3 stars because the other food was ok and the staff was friendly.

We visited the Römerterrasse restaurant this evening and have to say that we were once again very satisfied. We ate the Casanova plate and a small ice cream with cream and it was great. The meat was nice and tender, the grilled vegetables still had a bite and weren't mushy and the croquettes were really hot. The ice cream rounded it all off. The service was also great and very accommodating.

I was very satisfied on my last visit. Friendly staff. German - Croatian cuisine.

Unfortunately, our visit to the Roman terrace was a disappointment. The atmosphere didn't seem particularly inviting, rather cool and not very comfortable. The wait staff seemed overwhelmed, which affected the service. The dishes were extremely greasy and lacked any sophistication. The salmon dish was particularly disappointing - every component was dripping with fat, even the vegetables were swimming in oil. Some of it was so inedible that I had to leave it behind. My husband's meal was similarly disappointing. In addition, there are very few meat-free alternatives. All in all, unfortunately not a restaurant that we would recommend.

Actually a nice restaurant. The prices are okay too. Unfortunately, our evening was ruined by a group sitting behind us. The whole time you could hear the screams of children. Some children were running around the whole time. Directly behind us, a child was being changed on the restaurant floor. All the tables next to us kept looking over at the spectacle. Unfortunately there was no word from the staff or the boss. We won't be coming back again.

We've been coming for years... were in the restaurant last night and had a very nice evening, I can't understand what it says about the salad bar, it's just not true... It's a shame We enjoyed it very much... we would like to come back and like this restaurant and its operator

The taste of the food was okay, but the salad bar was careless and some of it was already noticeably dried out. The middle-aged waiter was quite uninterested in entertaining the guests. No drinks were offered either after the starter or after the main course. You are much better off in the restaurant next door

I like to eat here and because I work shifts I regularly have something brought to me in between... The price is also okay. Service staff is always friendly... 😊

That was the worst meal I've ever eaten anywhere in years, there were four of us, it was just nothing, 4 different dishes, zero spices, salad from the buffet, very clear, salad already dry, coleslaw totally over salted, ordered a table at 6 p.m., opened at 5 p.m., everything was supposed to be tip top, that was absolutely not the case. We won't visit this restaurant again, we would definitely have been better served at the chip shop

This evening we were in this restaurant for the first time with 7 people. Due to the many positive reviews, we tested the restaurant in order to possibly stop there after our civil wedding. Unfortunately we were totally disappointed with the food and can't understand the positive reviews... Positive: -nice ambience - Everything at ground level (wheelchair accessible) Negatives: - Starter (board with bread, sausage and cheese), was served very carelessly on a wooden board without any decoration such as olives or anything similar. 2 slices of salami, as thick as a thumb, and 3 slices of raw ham, with 2 pieces of bread and a bit of butter, were simply placed carelessly on the board. There were no plates and the table was full of bread crumbs. But these were also left on the table. - after 75 minutes of waiting, the main course arrived - Rösti and fries were in the deep fryer for far too long and were just hard and full of fat. - Portion sizes are sometimes a joke. Grill plate was ok, turkey pan was 2 dark brown, hard hash browns with a fist-thick piece of turkey and sauce as thick as pudding. Unfortunately we are very disappointed and will not visit this restaurant again. Apparently we weren't the only guests who were disappointed. At the next table you could also hear dissatisfaction.

Picked up food, had great expectations, unfortunately the food was very, very bad!! Prepared like it was just thrown on!!! All ready-made sauces, 5 fries that were hard as a rock, croquettes dark brown, grilled vegetables only consisted of mushrooms, cevapcici were not only inedible, they also looked very unappetizing!!!!!!

Great restaurant with a great ambience. It looks very cozy inside and out. There are also enough parking spaces available. For many dishes, like the schnitzel, you can put together your own dish with side dishes and sauce and also the salad at the buffet. We had the Jägerschnitzel and the stuffed steak. The food tasted fantastic. Our server seemed new, but he was very accommodating and super friendly. We'll definitely be back! 🤩 PS: There is so much sauce on my plate because I asked for “a lot” of sauce. 😁

Full marks in everything. We often order there to be picked up or are there in person. The food has ALWAYS been absolutely top. Good portions and quality that you can taste. I can't understand some of the negative reviews here. We have always been very satisfied there. Keep it up!

Unfortunately we were invited and wouldn't recommend the place, actually they say you eat with your eyes, that was wrong, we had the meat skewer, minced steak, Djuvec rice and fries, the Djuvec rice looked like it was tomato soup with a few grains of rice on the plate distributed, the fries were very greasy, not nice to look at. Other friends had salmon with rösti, these were in the fryer for far too long, it's a shame that I have to make such a comment, we all had hoped for more from the kitchen on the Roman terrace, plus There was also not enough staff for the number of guests. It's a shame

Modest restaurant, service needs to be friendlier, steak was unfortunately through and through... I hoped for more from a salad bar, especially since half of it was empty.

100% recommendation. Our meal included a salad plate from the buffet. The dishes also tasted excellent. All meats were 😋. Tender, juicy and ideally seasoned and not even remotely dry, which other restaurants often have (especially with pork skewers). So it's clear where we're going again tomorrow🙈.

A nice place to enjoy a good meal. My dish was wonderfully tender and I enjoyed it very much. The service was very nice and attentive, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The prices weren't too high, on the contrary, I was surprised that there are still restaurants where you don't find exorbitantly high prices. All in all....absolutely recommended!!!

Please note: We were here at Christmas. The schnitzel was not unbreaded because it was already pre-breaded. The salad was swimming in sauce. The service was overwhelmed due to the occupancy and the drinks came incorrectly in several orders. We had to wait 30 minutes because the table was not yet available at the time of reservation. We were at least offered a mulled wine, but had to wait outside. The available space was exhausted. So there were a lot of people there and it was too loud for meaningful conversation.

Schöne saubere Gaststätte, sehr nettes Personal, das Essen war super lecker,das Fleisch genau auf den Punkt, Pommes-frites total knackig, gutes Salatbuffet. Zum Abschluss gab es noch ein Schnäppchen auf das Haus, das gibt es fast kaum noch. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall bald wieder und genießen die Stunden in der Römerterrasse. Danke macht weiter so.

Essen reichhaltig, Getränk (Bier) war warm . Salatbar nicht sonderlich frisch.

Wir hatten einmal einen gemischten Fleischteller mit Reis und Pommes sowie ein 300-g-Rumpsteak mit Pfifferlingen und Pommes, vorneweg ein Salatbuffet mit sehr viel Auswahl an Salaten und verschiedenen Dressings. Was soll man sagen: sowas von lecker!!! Das Rumpsteak für 38.90 war schon ziemlich hochpreisig, dafür perfekt auf den Punkt gebraten. Freuen uns schon auf's nächste mal. Die Bedienung war sehr sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Draussen eine einladende Terrasse. Sehr sauber, ordentlich und schön eingerichtet. Das Essen wurde schnell und heiß serviert. Waren schon oft hier essen und werden noch oft wiederkommen. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Lecker, preiswert, guter Service - alles, wie es sein soll.

Wir kamen mit ziemlich hohen Erwartungen hierher, die wurden leider nicht wirklich erfüllt. Das Essen ist "in Ordnung", aber selbst zum Attribut "gut" fehlt noch ein Stück. Der Service bestand bei uns aus offenbar ungelernten Aushilfskräften, denen oftmals das Gespür fehlt, wie man sich Gästen gegenüber artikuliert.

Personal etwas schläfrig .Man wurde nur nach nach frohe bedient Personal Unaufmerksam da werden eher Tischd abgeräumt und neu eingedeckt sls Kunden mit Getränken zu versorgen. Denke wenn einer Kraptisch mag eher nach Ruppach -Goldhausen zum Split gehen da wird Service sm.Kunden zu 100% gelebt..da ist der Kunde König

Wir waren gestern zum ersten Mal dort und sehr zufrieden. Bei insgesamt 8 Personen und 6 verschiedenen Gerichten gab es nur zufriedene Gesichter. Nettes, freundliches Personal, gutes Essen und angemessene Preise sind diese Bewertung wert. Wir kommen sicherlich wieder.

The meat was seasoned well, taste was good in general, but nothing amazing. However the food took 1.5hr to arrive and by the everyone was ready to leave. We were seated in a dark corner, would have preferred a table next to the window but it was fairly noisy in the open dining room.

Dafür das wir jetzt zum 2 mal dort waren, kann ich nur sagen TOP weiter so.
