Absolutely delicious food, just like mom's home! What I really liked was the kids' buffet, where the little monsters could start eating right away and didn't have to wait. The staff was very friendly, and the food portions were very generous. I could hardly finish it all. If I go on holiday there again, I'll definitely eat there again!

My wife and I had dinner with my parents at the Plünnhock restaurant today. We celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary there. It was so warm and lovely, as if we'd all known each other for years, and the food was also very good. The beautiful Dankernsee is just a few meters from the restaurant. We will definitely come back and are already looking forward to our next visit.

The menu is varied and special. The "personal pan" alone is NEW to me. The food was delicious, but the schnitzel plate wasn't enough. The staff was friendly, but unfortunately absent and barely noticed us. A 15-minute wait for a drink... difficult.

I'd love to comment about the food, but it has been 35 minutes since we ordered and they don't seem to even be aware that we ordered anything. We have been brought two empty plates (literally) after I asked where the food was and when it was coming. The food did not follow!

Simply fantastic, the food is always outstanding, the service is second to none (this time we even had our food before drinks). The children's buffet also eliminates the whining wait for the little ones, and afterward, they have plenty of opportunities to play. Anyone looking for a child-friendly, cozy, and thoroughly good restaurant has come to the right place. The food selection is also very good, and vegans and vegetarians are also catered for! It's just a shame that we can only go here when we're on vacation (the journey takes 2.5 hours). Otherwise, we would be here much more often. This is a truly extensive and, unfortunately, negative change. First of all, I'd like to mention that the service was very good; they really made an effort. This job is quite unpleasant; anyone who really knows Plünnhock will be disappointed here, and the service is the first to notice this. We've eaten at the "old" Plünnhock several times, and the almost 150 km drive has always been worth it. Since then, Plünnhock has apparently experienced a change in management. This change has resulted in a significant reduction in the number of dishes originally offered, and the quality and quantity of the food has also declined considerably. In the attached pictures, you can clearly see the portion sizes; the steak isn't even a third of the size of the "old" one. To make matters worse, the flavor of the food has also diminished. The meat wasn't particularly tasty, and it's certainly a challenge to fry such small pieces. The mushrooms and onions are missing from the load of crap, and the portions have become uniform instead of small or large. Currently, only one portion is offered, which is definitely smaller than the small portion of the "old" Plünnhock and, at €24.50, more expensive. The vegetables were a disaster. The pasta dishes, fish dishes, and burgers are not on the menu. Dishes suitable for the asparagus season are also unavailable. When asked if side dishes such as mushrooms, pasta, or boiled potatoes could be ordered, we received the sobering message that these side dishes are generally unavailable, quite incongruous with the German cuisine on offer. Furthermore, it is no longer possible to get, for example, a piece of chicken instead of a pork medallion; it was not calculated that way, according to the answer. The Königspilsener, like the vegetables, was inedible; it lacked carbonation completely. The wheat beer from the bottle was at least good. Overall, I can only give the 5* service one star in the overall rating. The children's play area has also been significantly upgraded, but this cannot compensate for the resulting deterioration. The portions, whether large or small, were generally sufficient, and the quantity was perfect. Complemented by the excellent service, Plünnhock was a great restaurant, especially in the area. We haven't left Plünnhock without a few takeaway boxes yet; it was the first time. Overall, it was a truly unpleasant visit; it was really uncomfortable to point out the various shortcomings to the friendly waitresses. The atmosphere was very poor. The price increases should also be communicated; even in these difficult times, this change is unfathomable. Anyone expecting good food and a substantial meal in the "old Plünnhock style" will clearly be disappointed. We personally weren't deterred by the new reviews and deeply regret this. It's quite an achievement to disappoint ten people, two of whom were there for the first time. Accommodation is also impossible, so you can expect to pay the full price. There won't be another visit, and we strongly advise everyone against it.

We were there last week, three adults and one child. We made a reservation the same day. The food was fantastic. The kids' buffet idea is great; our little one ate three times and ate more than usual. The play area idea is also great; I can recommend it to families; definitely make a reservation in the play area. The prices are reasonable, the food is worth the money, and we prefer eating there to eating out in the park. Next year, we'll only eat there.

The restaurant was good overall, but I wouldn't go back. The portions are generous. The food came so quickly that I wondered if it was just being kept warm somewhere. The pork fillet was okay, but I would have liked it to be seared on the outside instead of just baked in the oven?! The fried potatoes were okay, but not really crispy. The vegetables, on the other hand, were excellent! The food could have been warmer, though. The restaurant is rustic, with plenty of tables/seats around the room. Unfortunately, there were breakfast crumbs everywhere on the chairs?! And the upholstery was all stained. The prices are also steep. A change to a side dish cost €2 or something! A little extra sauce cost €4.50. The children's buffet was €9, even though we were told it would be €7. They also said not all the dishes were brought out at the same time; I had to wait another 10 minutes for my plate. That's not possible, then I have to time it so that everyone finishes at the same time.

Unfortunately, the restaurant is no longer what it once was after the change of ownership. We were forgotten in the next room, and the food was comparable in quantity and taste to a takeaway. Several drinks were empty, and we weren't really full. Nevertheless, the meal for five people cost €160 (one starter, five main courses, and five drinks).

Just to briefly address that: Because it's in a holiday resort, the prices are quite high, and then you get annoyed. Ultimately, however, they accommodated us, and a small agreement was reached! I think that's very important. The three stars could be five for the friendly staff, but since I go to a restaurant to eat, I can't give more for now. However, I'd be happy to give you another chance to do better in the near future.

We ate at the Plünnhock restaurant this evening and were absolutely thrilled. The service is super friendly and very relaxed and friendly with children. Our three children, ages 2 to 12, had a blast. They also have a great little play area for the kids. The food was very good, absolutely delicious, and plentiful. The wait was also perfectly reasonable: from placing our order to the food being served, it was about 15 minutes, and we all had our meals at once. A very cozy atmosphere and very child-friendly. Highly recommended for families. We love vacationing in Dankern and will definitely eat there more often. And on the way back to the holiday home, you can take a leisurely walk along the lake.

Meal size normal. A lot of meat and a lot of dishes paired with sauce Hollondaise. Service staff does their job and tries their best, but (management) organisation is lacking. Double bookings, missing tables, wrong dishes delivered..

Great ambience, offers and everyone is served lovingly and with a lot of joy. Very child-friendly, also great dealing with people with special needs. We called at short notice and got a table spontaneously. The service was very friendly and we noticed that the restaurant was very child-friendly, which we weren't used to, so it was a very positive impression. The waitress told us that it would take some time because they had a large group of about 17 people. We were really hungry and were unsure whether we would stay, but we also showed that, but the staff was super friendly, had recommendations ready and made an effort. We were there on Christmas Day. Never again with a larger group. Arrival 12:20 p.m. Order at 12:30. Some wanted an appetizer. Everyone’s order for the main course has already been taken. The appetizer came about 15-20 minutes later. After repeated requests, the main course arrived at around 2:00 p.m. Was told our order was mixed up with another table. WHAT A STUPID LIE!!!! When you arrive at another table with the dishes we ordered, you immediately notice that something is wrong. The highlight was that we hadn't had the main course yet and a waitress came to us and asked how it tasted and whether we would like dessert. ABSOLUTE RUDE!!!!!!! There was only one waitress who apologized afterwards. There were also several people at our table who were very dissatisfied with the food. The roulades were extremely dry and could hardly be cut. The dumplings were sticky, probably from the cooking bag. And prices as if you were in the Berlin Hilton Hotel Most of us would have liked dessert. But if you finish the main course around 2:30 p.m., dessert probably wouldn't have been served until around 4 p.m. If you don't have the potential to make a reasonably good Christmas dinner, you shouldn't offer it. It's a disgrace to treat customers like that and take money out of their pockets for bad food. Even the Coke is saved. There is only afri-cola.

We ate at Plünnhock on a Saturday evening and had made a reservation in advance. The staff was very friendly and in a good mood, which of course also affects the mood of the guests. The overall ambience is OK, but it is one large open space, we would have liked a little more separation. The menu is rich and offers a wide variety of dishes. Here a little less would have been more. We then ordered the lock plate. The dishes themselves were good, the meat was mostly well-chosen, and the quantity was more than sufficient. The rump steaks were a little tiny. When it came to the sauces, you had the impression that there were already one or two tetra packs in the kitchen. However, they tasted OK. A real point of criticism are the French fries, they were really soggy. Not only with us, we also saw this in the dishes of our neighbors at the table. The dessert also really disappointed us. We expected more from the “moor in a shirt”. A small cup of warm chocolate cake sent to Dr. Oetker cup cake is reminiscent, and a scoop of ice cream for 8.90 euros is pretty steep. Overall, the prices are quite hefty, and you also have to pay 1.50 euros to change the supplement. Where is there any additional effort or additional costs if someone wants fries instead of fried potatoes? It's a shame actually, the restaurant has good ideas and the staff was very friendly, there should be some work done on one point or another

Unfortunately, the restaurant offers more canteen flair in the family area than the cozy ambience of previous table arrangements. We generally felt comfortable, which was probably because there wasn't that much going on that evening. The children's buffet is a great idea, but the dishes on offer are very simple. Although chips, nuggets, pasta and fish fingers are ideal for children, I would have hoped for more creativity from a restaurant. In addition, the mashed potatoes were seasoned with nutmeg - not necessarily a taste that children appreciate. Overall, a nice idea, but the implementation was just “okay”. There was significantly more choice on the adult menu compared to before. We tried a variety of dishes and the portion sizes were generous and reasonable for the prices. What doesn't fit, however, is the relationship between price and quality. For example, the chicken soup with garnish was disappointing in terms of taste, not completely rounded and not well thought out - overall just “ok”. The quality of the meat was mixed: the chicken and schnitzel were dry, while the pork fillet was fried quite well. Unfortunately, the schnitzel was also quite tough. The vegetables served with it were served with a hollandaise sauce, but it wasn't homemade, which is disappointing as it shouldn't be a big hassle. However, the Maultaschen, which were convincing in terms of taste, should be mentioned positively. However, the other supplements couldn't keep up. The fries were unconvincing and the fried potatoes were dry and partly burnt, which may have been due to the presentation in the hot pan. Overall, I would give the food a grade of 3 - okay, but not a highlight that would encourage us to visit again. In my opinion the menu is far too extensive and lacks a clear concept. Schnitzel, tarte flambée, giant cream puffs, pans that you can assemble yourself, etc. and even old dishes from the previous owner - it seems incoherent, as if you had stopped at the last few meters or you had simply packed all the guests' wishes into a menu. A noble gesture, but not appropriate for a restaurant. A positive highlight is the service, which was very friendly and accommodating that evening. Unfortunately, that's not enough to compensate for the food's weaknesses. For me, a nice example of the overall situation in the restaurant is the dessert. The idea of ​​serving it on a slate plate with a Weck glass is good at first glance. But upon closer inspection, the glass appears lost and placed somewhat carelessly on the plate. The powdered sugar that was scattered around doesn't make any sense at this point, and the spoon has been arranged as part of the decoration - which makes the overall look unfinished. Here, too, a more coherent impression could have been made with a little more effort. The cream itself was unfortunately just average, with no particular taste or sophistication. Overall, there was a certain something missing that would round off the dessert and leave the guest with a good feeling. This example clearly illustrates the impression we had of the entire evening: good approaches that are often weak in implementation. There is a lack of subtleties and a well-thought-out concept that offers guests more than just “okay”. It's a shame, because in my opinion the potential is definitely there.

We were on vacation last week, 5 adults and 3 small children. My father wanted to go out to eat and I had a subtle panic going to the restaurant with 3 small children, which meant pure stress for me. BUT it's so child-friendly here that I'm not used to in North Rhine-Westphalia. The children were able to get something to eat straight away at the children's buffet. Afterwards they played in the games corner while we could eat in peace. The service was super friendly and super relaxed despite lots of kids running around. Typical theme park restaurant. It is being processed. Furnishings are a matter of taste but the food is not worth the money. Everything was tasteless and greasy and overpriced. The fact that there was no heating and the outside temperature was 10 degrees didn't make it any more comfortable. No second visit planned.

A nice rustic restaurant with creative seating. We ate in "bed". Stopped for lunch on the way to the North Sea. The restaurant serves warm food throughout. Allergies and special requests are taken into account. The restaurant has its own parking lot and is located directly on the lake. The restaurant is recommended for a short break or the rooms are also set up for larger celebrations. A rest is worth it.

Went there yesterday with 15 people. The kids had their own buffet (where they could start right away). There was something for everyone - meat lovers praised the beef and the concept of "your own pans" and tarte flambée meant you could put together wonderfully varied vegetarian dishes. The kids were well entertained in the games area and the nearby playground. The service was competent and friendly. WhatsApp orders come quickly. Gladly again!

On September 28th, 2024, our family (7 people) stopped here after prior reservation for our 50th wedding anniversary as part of a 3-day stay in the Schloß Dankern theme park. A great, rustic restaurant with very nice, attentive service. All the dishes we ordered from the extensive menu were super tasty and very well portioned. The meat and vegetables were cooked to perfection. The drinks are well tempered. Thank you very much, we will definitely come back again.

About the new owner: Quality is still excellent. The menu and opening times have been expanded. Service is still good. The price has become a little more expensive. And you just have to forego the suckling pig buffet now. The whole ambience is "different", which doesn't have to be a negative thing, but you have to like it To the previous owner: Excellent restaurant with very courteous and attentive staff. Tastefully decorated. You can also taste that the food is freshly prepared and of high quality. This is worth the slightly higher price. Drinks are a bit expensive in some cases. There are regular activities such as buffets and family evenings. Absolute recommendation! Reservation makes sense.

Absolutely recommended! It was an absolute pleasure, especially with our child. Staff that love children like this is absolutely rare and I would advise all parents to eat here. The food is delicious, the people are simply warm and the atmosphere is very special! The schnitzel evening is an enrichment :)

If you're looking for really good food, nice service and a great ambience, this is the place for you. The "Erwin" table No. 13 is a great story. If you come as a couple, you should ask whether the "Erwin" table is still free/already free. Delicious food, nice places both outside and inside. Great service

A really great restaurant. Quaintly cozy. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. We were there with our dog. Even the dog was provided with water. The food was nice and hot, the vegetables were nice and crunchy and the meat was super tender. WE'LL LOVE TO COME BACK.
