Everyone has to decide for themselves what the place is like...we wouldn't go there again

I have to honestly say I was very shocked by the couple. My boyfriend and I wanted to go there for dinner, and according to the opening hours, they were still open. Since I'd only heard positive things about the Pfeffermühle, I thought, "Okay, let's go." However, that changed very quickly. When we arrived at the yard, the owner yelled at my boyfriend, but in a very strong tone: "What are you doing here? We're closed!" My boyfriend remained calm and explained that we didn't know, since it says outside that it's still open. The owners started swearing and getting loud. My boyfriend remained calm and even apologized. The couple was so rude and disrespectful, I've never seen such behavior before. I was so shocked, I didn't know what to say. Well, I'd rather go to the Greek restaurant!

We visited the Pfeffermühle today. It was lovely, with a cool atmosphere, great service 👍🏻, and such delicious 😋 food 🤤 wow, we'll definitely see you again.

We enjoyed our time there and the food immensely, but the very snippy and almost cheeky behavior of the owners is abysmal and defies all hospitality rules. We will never enter the establishment again and wish the hosts a speedy, undeserved "retirement."

We were there for lunch last Sunday. The food and service were absolutely excellent. I highly recommend it.

Unfortunately, we can't comment on the food, as we couldn't get a seat for two people, even though we could have at some of the tables. When we asked about it, the staff were very unfriendly. At the pizzeria next door, we received very friendly service, and the food was delicious, too.

The food is truly excellent and the service is quick, but the waitress is overwhelmed and consequently unfriendly. A real shame for this cozy restaurant.

You're only welcome there if you keep ordering. As soon as you don't order, you get a receipt thrown at you without even asking for it. The waitress (presumably the owner) is extremely unfriendly. The atmosphere is cozy and very pleasant.

Last night, we spontaneously visited the Pfeffermühle, after asking if we could still come. There were five of us rehab guests, and we left after the last treatment (which ended at 8:00 p.m.). When we arrived, we were informed that we had taken more than an hour. We apologized and were allowed to sit down. We were asked if we wanted anything else to eat, and we politely replied no. Immediately afterward, two women changed their minds and, before they even sat down, went to the manager to ask what was left. They wanted something else to eat. They were rejected in an unfriendly, loud manner, clearly audible to all the other guests. With the words: "No means no, that's it!" he disappeared into the restaurant's supply room. That was very unpleasant and inappropriate! Both women had approached the manager in a friendly manner. The service was very friendly, the drinks were like those in other restaurants. The ambiance was pleasant. Our mood was dampened. Cash only!

A rustic open-air restaurant serving German dishes. I wouldn't recommend dropping by spontaneously; we were turned away quite rudely on a Friday. They refused to seat us at tables that weren't full, didn't tell us to come later, and didn't offer to eat at the empty standing tables. A very unpleasant experience. If you don't want that, either make a reservation or drive to the beautiful viewpoint. It's also full there, but the staff is hospitable and the food is delicious.

The food was fantastic. Dogs are also allowed. They also made special arrangements for a guest who wanted vegetarian food, and they offered to prepare something that wasn't on the menu. I loved the ambiance. The staff were very good. However, they deducted one star for the fact that you could only pay in cash. That's outdated. I would have had to leave for a spontaneous visit. You have to plan ahead and bring enough cash. That's a shame.

Highly recommended. We stopped by for dinner on a whim one evening. We were seated outside in the courtyard. There's an outdoor kitchen, and the food was prepared promptly. The portions were generous, very tasty, and reasonably priced. The service was attentive and friendly.

We arrived in town and were looking for a last-minute place to grab a bite to eat in the evening. We found what we were looking for at the Pfeffermühle, where we were able to eat and drink good, home-style food at a good price. The ambiance is rustic, and the service was very attentive. When we were there, it wasn't very warm outside. Patio heaters made it a bit warmer, but in colder temperatures, an extra jacket is recommended. The customer is king here. You can customize everything to your liking. Highly recommended, and we'd be happy to return.

We spontaneously stopped by the restaurant in a very nice, cozy outdoor area. Staff very friendly and quick. Food and drinks very tasty and hearty in nature. You even have the opportunity to talk to the chef because part of the kitchen is outdoors. The prices are perfectly fine, you could even say inexpensive. Definitely recommended and if we're in the area again, we'll eat there.

Price/performance ratio is good. Food was very good, especially the burger was delicious. But cash alone is not traceable.

Everything is just right here. The owner is also the chef. I've never had such delicious garlic bread before. Everything is freshly prepared here. The service is absolutely warm with a quick saying on the tip of their tongue, that's how I like it!

Beautiful inn with a beer garden and great design, the food is fresh and, apart from the burnt fried potatoes, very good. Unfortunately, the burnt fried potatoes were just acknowledged by the service staff with the sentence, the chef doesn't like making them anyway, and no apology.

I'm currently in Bad Schmiedeberg at the Eisenmoor Clinic. Today I had a visit from my two best friends. And because I had already read a lot of positive things about the pepper mill on the internet. I booked a table for us for lunch. Now I have to say, unfortunately my expectations were not met. As a starter we had Soljanka, which wasn't really good in terms of taste, a lot of old sausage and was overcooked. So for the main course I chose the moor roast, the meat was very dry and the sauce was all overcooked as if it had been prepared too long. The side dishes, however, were good. A friend had roulade and she said exactly the same thing Not good meat, much too dry. Too bad.

A really great restaurant...in terms of food and ambience. However, the service could really be a bit nicer...we received a very snippy reception with the final statement: "of course they would also be happy to go next door".... So answer this as to whether that doesn't belong with the outside! We had never been there before and unfortunately we didn't know our way around. Seemed a bit annoyed or stressed. It's a shame...because we were still very polite and nice.

I can't say anything about the food. The very unfriendly reception was enough for us. The waitress had a snappy manner about her...really underground. However, you should keep in mind that the spa guests and visitors keep the restaurant running and bring in the money. You can also expect a nice shot of juice.

So wonderful and loving, rustic, cozy, that certain something. Prices absolutely justified. We were there today, rump steak medium, baked potato wedges, salad 24.50 euros. Absolutely awesome, you won't get that in any "steak restaurant" Authentic cuisine on an open flame to watch over. We'll be back, definitely, indescribably beautiful and haven't eaten so well and simply in a long time.

A very good restaurant, a staircase leads to the roof where there is seating for a smaller number of people. The food tasted excellent, the atmosphere is rustic but chic. Pre-orders are welcome as well as cash payment.

Here you will find the best selection of steak and game between Leipzig and Berlin with a wide range of menu options. I've looked around a lot and can say this and I'm not kidding. I can only agree with the previous speakers in saying “very tasty” and continue this with additional additions. Everything is cooked on point. The meat is as good as possible from organic farming, for example from Argentina or was shot by regional hunters. The menu is so broad when it comes to game and steaks that it's difficult to choose. When it comes to wild morels and wild boar in spring, it should ring a bell. Everything is very reasonably priced, even for the area. The portions are ordered in such a way that you are guaranteed not to go home hungry and are more likely to linger in the Landsknecht atmosphere for a while. There is a wide range of spirits available, e.g. whiskeys, some of which are a bit expensive. Extra requests can be discussed with the host. The professional staff is always quick, thorough and friendly. Music offerings are rare, but when they are, you can tell that the host himself probably enjoys it. Often well attended. Reservations recommended. One of the few treasures in the deep Düben Heath. Thank you for the good hospitality over the years.

Food was good, but there was no vegetarian alternative, only meat dishes. But they were great. Overall, everything seems a little old-fashioned, but the guests are treated warmly.

From the first impression it is a cozy and small restaurant. There is a second floor accessible via stairs. The selection of food is sufficient and great value for money. Everything is homemade and beautifully prepared. The starters, garlic toast, bruscetta and sweet potato fries were super delicious. There was a veggie dish, Pfannenspätzle, they were good. The burgers with meat looked very good, would be a highlight in vegetarian form. The service staff seemed slightly overwhelmed and stressed because the whole restaurant was full. A changing table would be desirable. Children's chair is available.

Very cozy little restaurant in town. The staff is super friendly. The food is delicious. The building was built around 400 years ago and is now one of the oldest open inns in Bad Schmiedeberg. It initially housed the Posselt brewery and passed into the possession of the great-grandfather, the Otto Gruhn family, around 100 years ago. It was used as a consumer restaurant until 1989 and as a pub from 1991 to 1996. After extensive renovation and refurbishment measures, it was opened in 1997 as the “Pfeffermühle” restaurant. The farm was used as an agricultural machinery factory until 1964 and after the ruined buildings were demolished we were able to build a summer restaurant here. The old stones and wood from the ruins were used. Up to 100 guests can experience a variety of events here (e.g. dance, live music, blues evening). Because the seating is covered, the courtyard is a popular excursion destination for young and old, even in unsettled weather.

Uriges Restaurant mit Außenküche. Man kann bei der Zubereitung der Speisen zusehen. Uriges Ambiente in der Scheune (Gastraum in der Sommersaison). Sehr leckeres deutsches Essen.

Das Aussenrestaurant im Innenhof mit einsehbarer Küche ist ein super Erlebnis, der Chef wirbelt allein in der Küche sowas von gut, das Essen ein Traum, war 5 mal zu Gast und immer begeistert. Das Restaurant Pfeffermühle in Bad Schmiedeberg ist eine urig gemütliche Gaststätte und so wie es aussieht im Familiebetrieb und sehr nett und freundlich geführt.

Wir sind regelmäßige Gäste und immer wieder sehr zufrieden. Das Essen ist super lecker, immer frisch und toll angerichtet. Die Inhaber sind nett und freundlich, haben immer einen lustigen Spruch parat. Die Einrichtung ist gemütlich und schön urig. Der Außenbereich ist in den Sommermonaten ein absolutes Muss und jede Live-Veranstaltung super gefüllt und mit reichlich Stimmung versorgt. Ich kann die Pfeffermühle nur weiter empfehlen.

Hinter den Holztoren vermutet man nicht so ein Kleinod von Gaststätte. Die Speisekarte ist auf Schiefertafeln an der offenen Küche angebracht, die Getränkekarte liegt auf den Tisch. Das Personal ist super freundlich und erfüllt jeden Wunsch. Das Essen ist sehr gute Hausmannskost, es geht mit einer leichten Schärfe einher. Das Ambiente ist super toll. Am Wochenende sollte man vorbestellen. Ich würde immerwieder die Gaststätte besuchen.

Gemütliches Ambiente. Wer was trinken will, für den ist es eine gute Adresse. Ansonsten ist es mit der Reservierung recht merkwürdig. Die weibliche Bedienung ist ziemlich eigenartig, manchmal auch ziemlich unfreundlich und nicht gerade gastfreundlich. Das Essen ist okay, aber es gibt deutlich bessere Restaurants mit viel mehr Gastfreundlichleit. Diese bleibt hier ziemlich auf der Strecke, da es weit und breit das einzige Restaurant in Bad Schmiedeberg ist. Ich würde dieses Restaurant nicht unbedingt nochmal besuchen und auch nicht empfehlen!!!!

Wollten eigentlich reservieren. Ging aber niemand ans Telefon. Sind dann heute einfach hingefahren und haben 2 Plätze bekommen obwohl reserviert daran stand. Wir haben sehr gut gegessen . Personal sehr freundlich. Wir kommen gern wieder. Vielleicht ein modernes Reservierungsystem einführen. Vielen Dank.

Im Sommer wird im wunderschönen Innenhof bewirtet, hier wird auch das Essen finalisiert und ausgegeben. Die Bedienung ist freundlich und meist sehr flink. Das Hauptgericht war sehr lecker, appetitlich angerichtet und über jeden Zweifel erhaben, der Preis angemessen! Unsere Vorspeise, ein Würzfleisch, war dagegen nicht das Geld wert: eine winzig kleine Portion, die eher flüssig war und nur eine homöopathische Menge Fleisch enthielt! Schade!

Wenn man Bock auf tolles Essen und eine nette Bedienung hat sollte man genau dort hin gehen.Toller Biergarten wo man dem Koch noch zuschauen kann.
