RESTAURANT PECHHÜTTE in Bad Saarow

We got a table spontaneously. The duck breast with grilled vegetables was truly delicious, and the vegetarian chili was also very good.

Two of us went there for lunch. We ordered the solyanka and a burger with Caesar fries, along with homemade lemonade. The solyanka had a very harmonious flavor, with a slight acidity; it was very good. The burger—I mean, it was the first time I've eaten a burger with a knife and fork. Very good and definitely a treat. The service was very friendly and excellent. We'd definitely be happy to come back.

Dear Management, Unfortunately, I'm missing everything that makes a restaurant visit enjoyable. The rustic restaurant belonging to the Esplanade Hotel used to be exactly what you'd expect. Today, it's lacking in every way. The staff doesn't speak German, which makes ordering difficult. It's obvious that they're entrusted with running a restaurant here with semi-skilled helpers at best. The food selection is minimal, the prices are completely out of whack, and the quality is, to say the least, appalling. You'd think that a burger and fries could be halfway decent even with an unskilled crew, but that's unfortunately not the case. Specifically, the side salad had no dressing, the cucumber salad had been sitting in the kitchen for at least five hours, more hot than cold, the burger patty was completely cooked, firm to the touch, and covered in an indefinable cheese sauce. The coleslaw was on the other half of the burger bun, underneath which was a kind of vegetable ragout with bacon cubes. It looked to me as if someone had just cleaned the kitchen. If I hadn't felt so sorry for the staff, I would have gladly returned everything and not paid a cent for it. I'll be visiting the hotel/restaurant less often in the future, as the concept simply doesn't make sense to me anymore.

I did NOT like the 3-Cheese Burger (€22 without a side dish!). 👎 Instead of enhancing the medium-cooked patty with a selection of good cheeses in appropriate proportions, the meat was drowned in what felt like 300ml of a yellow sauce that reminded me of the nacho cheese dip you'd find at the movies.

The solyanka was tasty, but lukewarm. The beef tartare was dry (it must have been refrigerated for quite some time) and lackluster in its presentation and service. The shrimp were okay, but also not very refined, and the sauce, in particular, was rather bland. All in all, not worth the high price.

Unfortunately, it was just okay. The pizza came before the appetizers. The food took a very long time.

Fantastic food. The trout on the first night was so good that I went back to the Pechhütte the second night. And the shrimp were even better. The service is fantastic. Friendly, attentive, fast... Top-notch!!! The only downside: It's incredibly loud when you sit inside.

Unfortunately, we were unable to use the restaurant and therefore its food and drinks, as we were asked to leave without a reservation sign despite there being free seats. We were seated at a free table without a reservation and were asked for our reservation. Since we didn't have a reservation, we were asked to leave in full view of the other guests. An unpleasant situation for us. However, we received a friendly welcome across the street at the Esplanade. I'm happy to increase my rating from 2 to 3 stars because I received a pleasantly professional and appreciative response (message) to my review today. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for this, as politeness and appreciation are unfortunately no longer a given these days. Thank you very much!

Ate there today... Positive: Good ambiance, very good waitress (reviews well received and the tip is just for her) Negative: Food: Beef burger and fries... The fries were the best part of the meal. I realize that a beef burger is meat, but I don't expect a meatball on the burger. While it was okay, it could have been made into a decent patty. And why is the burger covered in tomato paste? The coleslaw was also rubbish. I can buy better ones at the supermarket. Totally overpriced at €18. I tried this restaurant, but it was my last visit there.

We went there for dinner twice during our four-day vacation. The food was delicious each time, and the service was very friendly. We'd love to come back next time we're in Bad Saarow.

Very important! Reserve a table! Otherwise, you won't get a seat. The restaurant gets very busy from around 6 p.m. On our first visit, everything was totally relaxed. The drinks arrived very quickly, as did the food. The food selection, while not as varied, was still good enough. The food itself was very tasty and a good size. The price was a bit higher, probably due to the location. On our second visit, there was a small mistake. The waiter passed on the wrong dish to the kitchen. It happens. But then we had to wait an extra 15 minutes. Nevertheless, the food was once again very good, and we were also offered a free coffee.

I was here with my daughter; we had a reservation. It was a beautiful evening, and our burgers were sensationally delicious. Even the lettuce under the meat was still crisp. I've rarely eaten such good burgers.

Our final holiday dinner at the Pechhütte was a complete success. The waiter was able to offer us a sunny outdoor spot. Everyone found something delicious on the menu (beef burger, pulled pork burger, currywurst, vegetarian chili, or trout). The service was very friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was very pleasant. All in all, highly recommended. It's a shame we were there on our last evening.

With prices of €15 for a salad or €10 for a Hugo, it's truly disappointing that four thin, soft slices of baguette are charged €1.50 each – especially when the ordered ketchup never arrives. This unfortunately seems unwelcoming. On top of that, a burger costing almost €20 doesn't even come with a portion of fries, and even that costs extra. It's especially unfortunate because you don't have a choice of restaurants on Mondays, which only adds to the disappointment.

We've enjoyed coming to the Pechhütte for years, but yesterday we were deeply disappointed. Even though we were the first guests, after our appetizer (delicious, but only lukewarm solyanka), we had to wait another 30 minutes for a burger and a steak. For the first time in my life, I had to return a dish. The mini roast beef was overcooked and cold. The new one, about 2 minutes later, was also only lukewarm and so thin that medium-rare wouldn't have been possible! The grilled vegetables were also disappointing; soft and also only lukewarm. The price-performance ratio is no longer there. It's a shame, we've enjoyed coming here for years! Mr. Cudok always promises improvements, but unfortunately to no avail! P.S. The menu has also shrunk considerably!

The burger was very tasty, but I think the prices are too high. A glass of wine was €10.00. The service was good, although some people didn't speak German very well. Reservations are definitely a must. We had reserved six months in advance this time, and we finally managed to get a table.

This was our first time here and we had reserved a table online. We received a friendly welcome, were treated courteously, and our little daughter's special dietary requests were professionally accommodated. Drinks (5 minutes) and food arrived quickly (30 minutes). The food was top-quality, incredibly delicious, and very attractively presented. The value for money was absolutely excellent. We had made a reservation through the hotel because we were told many restaurants in the surrounding area were closed (Monday). Well, when we arrived at the restaurant, which wasn't really full, we were given probably the most ridiculous table ever. The chair was right behind a pillar, so there was absolutely no room. When we asked if we could move, there was no response. Okay, so it took 25 minutes before we got something to drink. The food was supposed to be good German cuisine, but there was little choice and it was overpriced. We opted for the currywurst, which was a lot to be expected for 17.50. That wasn't the case: the sauce was too salty, the sausage was okay, and the fries were too firm. They weren't even snack-quality. Conclusion: Never again, next time we're in Bad Saarow!!!!

The food tastes good, but it's not cheap, and the portions are small. We used to like the selection of dishes more, like the charcuterie board. We also had to wait quite a long time for service.

Food was flawed, service was mediocre, and the location was nice. I ordered a chicken leg, but it wasn't cooked through and the skin was flabby. I offered a quick apology and a drink, but it never came. For us, the Pechhütte is dead. Unfortunately, it's gotten worse every year, especially considering the prices and location. A shame!

I would like to describe an unfortunate experience we had at the Pechhütte on a Friday evening. We found a table outside in pleasantly mild temperatures and were looking forward to a relaxing evening. After a long wait, the neighboring table was served, and the waiter apologized for the wait. We assumed it was our turn now. Instead, the menus from the neighboring table were brought directly back into the restaurant. When I followed the waiter to ask for the menus, I was assured that they would be brought to us immediately. A waiter then came to our table, but the ensuing conversation devolved into a manner that was neither in keeping with the restaurant's location nor with appropriate customer service. We were informed that all tables were reserved because the neighboring hotel claimed them for itself. When I pointed out that there was no reservation sign at our table, the reply was that there was a notice at the entrance stating that guests had to be seated. However, this sign was not visible at the entrance we used. We were coming out of our house on Seestrasse. The ensuing argument escalated to the point where the waiter, after we asked to leave, threw the menus into the corner. The employee in question not only seemed to be in a bad mood, but also had difficulty with German, which likely made communication even more difficult. This experience was extremely disappointing for us and in no way meets the standards one would expect from a restaurant in this location. We therefore see no reason to visit the restaurant again. I would be grateful if the manager would investigate this matter internally and take appropriate measures to prevent other guests from having similar experiences.

I had solyanka and a fantastic fried beef burger, both highly recommended and without a long wait. Overall, a nice, cozy place.

We wanted to have dinner, but many tables were reserved. Therefore, we were seated in a rather unpleasant corner. Water was offered for our "cute" dog, but unfortunately, it never arrived. The menu selection was straightforward but sufficient. However, the portion size for the price charged defied all comprehension. My wife's burger was tiny for 18 euros and not particularly good. My pork schnitzel with spaetzle was unfortunately okay, but the meat was quite tough. For 20 euros...? The waiters tried hard, but all in all, it was far too expensive for the service.

We've been coming here for years and are very happy with the food. However, what we don't understand and what's currently out of place is that there are no children's dishes. Every restaurant has a children's menu these days. It's possible to order small portions of certain dishes for children, but a small knuckle of pork or lentil salad is rather inappropriate for children. Please change that; we certainly weren't the first to ask for a children's menu.

Unfortunately, the quality here has declined significantly. The poor quality of the food doesn't match the prices. Both the burger and the baked vegetables were a real disappointment, but the fries were okay.

Rather expensive, and the quality and ambiance don't quite match. The fries were great, but ketchup and mayo (from a supermarket bottle) didn't arrive until we were almost finished. We had burgers, but one of them was simply missing a cool sauce. Luckily, it was otherwise juicy. Overall, the restaurant is quite loud and soundproof.

I had the Caesar salad and a Coke I would remove it

Unfortunately, it took ages to get a menu. Then it took almost 20 minutes for us to order (we didn't even have drinks until then, as we couldn't order). After ordering, it took exactly another 40 minutes for us to get our food (a salad, boiled meatballs, and liver). The salad was really very good, but I can't say much about the boiled meatballs. My liver was only half-good. I had simply imagined something different. The liver pieces were beyond tiny, the sauce was too extravagant in flavor, and the little bit of apple was unfortunately overpowered by far too much curry, which dampened the overall flavor. The portion was also very tiny and not filling. It's a shame that no waiter came to our table afterward to take any follow-up orders. The photo shows the portion of veal liver.

The veal schnitzel is not recommended. It was simply prepared incorrectly, and the potato and cucumber salad was extremely mustardy. The burgers are typical of a hipster, bad place. They're overpriced. The service was always attentive.

Unfortunately, it's a dry burger with no sauce. Instead, a bottle of ketchup and burger sauce from the discount store. Can't you do better?

We went there for a spontaneous meal at Easter. Unfortunately it was very disappointing! Especially given the location. The restaurant was empty, but the lady from the service seemed very overwhelmed. But she was trying to be friendly. We then waited almost an hour for the food. The food was the real disappointment. I ordered asparagus and veal schnitzel. I've never eaten this bad anywhere else. The asparagus was ok, although very manageable with 3-4 pieces. The veal schnitzel was really tiny and fried absolutely dead. If I remember correctly the price was €29.90. You can't offer that! We were around the corner at the climbing park and were really hungry. Otherwise I probably would have let it go back! In any case, that impressed me so negatively that I had to write another review.... .

My chicken burger was totally dry and not juicy. And the prices are pretty overpriced too.

We are an older couple (mid to late 60s) and had reserved. The young lady who was supposed to assign us the table looked at us briefly and wanted to place us at by far the worst table in the relatively narrow passage, even though the restaurant was not even half full. We had the impression: the “old people” won’t say anything!?! This impression was further reinforced by the following observation: Everyone who came after us, including those without a reservation, wasn't even offered a table. We found this discriminatory and not worthy of a restaurant belonging to the Esplanade. The burgers are OK, but nothing more and slightly overpriced.

We were able to celebrate our wedding on the terrace of the beautiful Pechhütte. Overlooking our favorite lake, we enjoyed every single moment with our loved ones. It was wonderful. The service was also great. We were completely satisfied. Thank you very much ♥️

Rustic cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere with attentive service. As guests of the hotel it was no problem getting a place. The restaurant apparently only opens from Friday to Sunday in the low season. We sat upstairs and it felt very familiar there. We definitely preferred sitting there than in the attached “glass box” on the ground floor.

We were greeted warmly and the service was on point and very friendly. I found the atmosphere to be pleasant and inviting. About food: Logically, I can only write about my dish. The pike perch with tomato and braised cucumber. The portion was sufficient. The cucumber was too much for me sour. But it's a matter of taste. Prices are slightly higher in Saarow. Overall, in my subjective opinion, I would like to come back.

Overall, a great evening. The first floor is not as attractively designed as the ground floor. Food was okay, even if the peppers in the Cesar salad are a bit strange. 9 euros for a bottle of San Pellegrino is definitely too expensive.

Our visit was spontaneous and without reservation, but we immediately got a place for two (~8:30 p.m.). As a starter we had the bread with the olive paste. The olive paste tasted very good. The bread, on the other hand, was very unspectacular and a bit too dry. The main courses were goulash with dumplings and red cabbage, as well as schnitzel with spaetzle. The sliced ​​meat was really delicious, the meat was on point and the spaetzle was well fried (but could have been a little more). The dumplings were also great, the red cabbage was well seasoned, but a bit overcooked. The meat was good, but could have been a little more tender. Can be recommended :)

We spent a short vacation at the Esplanade and really wanted to escape the stress. Unfortunately, it's not that easy to get a table even as a hotel guest. That day we finally got lucky for 6:30 p.m. We sat in the attic, which unfortunately seemed a bit loveless. We had the feeling that a few tables were quickly set up to accommodate the number of guests. Our young waiter was very friendly and tried to make us feel comfortable, but it seemed a bit rehearsed and lacked a warm touch. After a neighboring guest advised us against veal schnitzel, we decided on the solyanka & pumpkin soup as a starter. Both were a great start. The avocado tomato salad was ok. The oversized decorative salad “bunny ears” were unnecessary and rather strange. The dressing can be improved - a simple yogurt dressing with little taste - that could be better. The chicken/tandoori with bulgur was surprisingly good, with a little more tandoori and spice it would have been great. Our table next door had booked half board and was surprised on the second day with a repeat of day 1. You can do it, the gentlemen still noticed it despite their advanced age. But the most important point is the ambience - we can't give a rating for the lower area.

Half of the restaurant is free, “there won’t be room again for another hour”. And goodbye - never again.

Very disappointed...the Wiener Schnitzel was a complete disaster...served completely dry!!! You have to order the side dish separately at a price where you think the side dish is included. The beef tartare as well... 3 small slices of bread that weren't enough... Tartare is served differently and not in a tin cat food tin.. .the egg wasn't served with it either. It is supposedly already mixed in... which you couldn't tell from the taste... Conclusion: not good cuisine and customer deception!!! Enormous prices and no service...customer service grade 5-. Never again !!!!

We visited the Pechhütte restaurant in Bad Saarow on Saturday, August 31st, 2024. The service was very warm, courteous and guest-oriented.😊 We had garlic bagette with chicken as a starter, wild & spicy burger as a main course, and fries as a side dish. Went to the pitch hut for the second time today. With great anticipation, the first visit was great. Unfortunately we were disappointed. After being ignored by our waitress for 20 minutes, the food was unfortunately very disappointing. The fries were dripping with oil and were completely unseasoned. The remaining food was carelessly thrown onto the cellar. Unfortunately, the beautiful plates that are available in the Pechhütte don't help either. We won't be coming back again. The service and the food have absolutely deteriorated compared to the first visit, where the shop was very full and we managed to get a table even without a reservation thanks to the efforts of the employees.

We were in the Pechhütte on August 6, 2024 without booking a table and were accepted to have dinner there even though there were a lot of reservations. What was particularly noticeable that evening was the team's good interaction, completing their tasks in a completely calm manner without becoming hectic. We found the ambience and history of the Pechhütte quite good, and all three of us enjoyed the food very well, including the presentation. We got drinks and food promptly. I was here on a Tuesday evening in the summer. There was hardly anything going on, few guests. The staff was very friendly and the food tasted good. The prices were higher than expected, but they are tourist prices for a hotel, so that's acceptable.

Went there spontaneously on the weekend. After a very nice 2-hour steamer trip on the Scharmützelsee, we wanted to take a little break in the Pechhütte, which belongs to the Hotel Esplanade. It was noticeable that 90% of the tables were occupied with reservation signs. However, we still found a table without a sign. After a short wait, a service person came and asked in a harsh tone whether we had even made a reservation. Since we didn't have that, he made it clear to us that he couldn't offer us a table! When we looked there again after about an hour, all the tables were still unoccupied. Well, you ask yourself, what's the point, dear Hotel Esplanade?! Are old GDR habits celebrated here? Do you no longer value external guests? In addition, and it is well known that there have been problems with good staff for some time, you should perhaps check the friendliness of one or the other service person from time to time. Sorry, but we will spend our money elsewhere in the future.

We had reserved a table and when we got there we were seated at a broken table. After we pointed this out, we were just told that it couldn't be repaired. We ordered a starter and a main course. After we had finished with the starter, it wasn't cleared away and the cellar just said when he stood in front of us with our main course, "Oh, hasn't it been cleared yet?". The burger I ordered wasn't very tasty either. The burger bun was soggy, little cheese and the pulled pork was very coarse. When we ordered another drink, it was forgotten and only brought to the table after we asked. Overall it was a disastrous experience for the price and I personally cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Sat at a broken table for a birthday party. None of the dishes met our expectations. Rather poorly warmed ready meals, absolutely overpriced and poor quality. THE service was completely overwhelmed and I was reluctant to pay the bill. Absolutely not recommended. And that as a restaurant in a 4 star hotel.

I'm sorry, but I've eaten better and tastier for the money. The fact that the side dish was served incorrectly at first and the side dish ordered after the main course was already cold didn't really lift the mood. This shouldn't happen when there are only about 10 guests in the restaurant. A pity.

For the citizen alone you pay around €17. You then have to pay another €5 for a side dish. Fresh tomatoes were not on the citizen. The drinks are also quite expensive for very little content. As mentioned here many times… high prices and you expect something in return. But not what we had to experience today. The fact that the degree of grilling of meat can be off, it happens, but all other dishes are also cold to lukewarm allows only one conclusion. For whatever reason, our food sat somewhere too long. That's why the meat has been adjusted to the grill level. It would be nice if the waiter would admit something like that and deal with it professionally. It's nice that my wife was given the new meat and side dishes, but I ate alone and when I asked where my mushrooms were with the game ragout, he said they were in the sauce and I asked him, the two pieces? He then brought me a whole bowl of mushrooms. Unfortunately, I was already finished eating. 😂 In terms of taste, everything here was fine, really good quality. But the time management and handling of the complaint was anything but professional. And that with a bill for two people of 135 €. An espresso or schnapps or dessert on the house wouldn't have particularly brightened my mood. But that wasn't even taken into consideration for this sum. Or rather for the entire process. It's a shame... it should be mentioned again that everything tasted very good here, but the processes and the management (service) were only worth three stars.

We have rarely been too disappointed as guests. I had to drink my Aperol Spritz out of a mason jar. The strange chicken leg dish with limp skin and raw baked potatoes was a complete disaster. I don't understand the entire system here. Can't see any line of the kitchen. The veal schnitzel came to the table in two large, not tasty pieces. The potato salad was so mustardy that it didn't work well with the schnitzel. The acid was completely missing. The allergens are also wrong. As a hotel manager I would be ashamed of this number. The service, who went to great lengths, canceled the inedible part. Thank you. Location great. Book an independent catering consultant and have them work out a concept for the beautiful restaurant. There is definitely more to it!!!!

I ate there on Friday with 8 friends, the service was good, and the food overall was too. Since no bread was included with the simple salad, which was a bit overpriced in my opinion, my wife asked for some bread, but was charged for it. There were 2 measly slices of baguette for 1.50 euros. That really wasn't appropriate. Then we discovered that the menu on site didn't match the one online. I am so disappointed! We have been coming here for 12 years, but today nothing was recognizable from the previous pitch hut. “Wurscht&Bier” is still written on the wall, but there is no sausage anymore. According to the staff, the menu was changed exactly today. I had the cold cucumber bowl (far too salty) and the tandoori chicken (already named as a "salad" when served, even though it's supposed to be a main course). The chicken was not edible because of the spices. Positive: The staff was always super nice. However, one person also said that he/she would no longer work here. Such a shame!!! Pechhütte was great! Please change that again!

Today we had lunch in the Pechhütte, Unfortunately, that wasn't really good! The pork tenderloin au four really had nothing to do with this dish. I want to put it like this: “Pour boiled sour on it and bake it with cheese and let it cool down.” Citizen showed little expertise “Pullet pork?” Cauliflower casserole €18 in a compote bowl? I think the best was that Currywurst, however, is available next door for a third! 16€ At the next table there was a fly in the soup and the waitress asked if she should change the soup??? Better next door than visiting the beer garden.

Yesterday we had dinner at the Pechhütte and had a great evening. The food (burgers with grilled cheese, truffle fries) was absolutely delicious, as well as very nice service and a great ambience. We will definitely come back and can recommend the restaurant to everyone.

Beautiful restaurant close to the lake and harbor. 4 stars for the food because the quality and quantity were good, but the price was way too expensive. 3 stars for the service because we had to wait for a very, very, very long time, the service staff didn't understand German well and this resulted in errors in the order. 5 stars because it's just beautiful here.

I recommend, good fries and burgers

I had dinner here with my wife on June 7, 2024. The food was very good! Great seasoning! I had the bratwurst, which was really tasty, and my wife had a burger. Also great! The service was quick and friendly! Finally, the waitress spread the remaining burger sauce over my wife. But as compensation there was a drink on the house! It's all ok! Definitely worth a visit! Was here as a returning guest of the hotel. Food is so bad it is offensive. They served us waffles which still were deep frozen half way. Super expensive steak was not pan fried, but seemingly cooked on the low heat. It was soggy, not very nice smelling boiled beef. High price, long wait. This place is only here because of the lack of options around. If you can, avoid at all costs, there are a lot of spa hotels who manage to put delicious foods to their guests. We were served an uneatable food for high price, disprrspectful totally.

The food was delicious but the waiting time was unacceptable. It's not much fun to wait more than an hour for your food.

We ate there on May 25th, 2024, nice restaurant, friendly service and then that was it for the positive. 50% of the menu is overpriced snack food. I covered one of the castles with bacon; you could also have put a piece of cardboard on top. You have to pay extra for fries. Children's food is not shown on the menu. When asked whether it would be possible to order a simple hamburger, the answer was no, there were chicken nuggets for children. Chicken nuggets for children are 2 lumps of chicken (approx. 200g) breaded and fried with chips and peas so far so good, but the meat was not cooked through but still raw. We complained about this to the service, the service got smart in the kitchen and the answer was “there is no other way”. No apology, no alternative, no discount but charged in full.
