Restaurant Panda in Bad Säckingen

You can eat really well here for very little money. This restaurant is highly recommended.

Yesterday, three of us went out to eat there. Today, I have stomach problems with nausea and a kind of disgusting burping, something I've had in the past after eating spoiled food (sushi, which tasted a bit strange... from somewhere else a few months ago). Another of the three of us also suddenly has stomach problems, and it started at night for her. I haven't spoken to the third person yet... We're in the same hospital, and we normally see each other often, so I don't know anything specific, but this is rather suspicious in terms of the person possibly not feeling well. Some items at the buffet also look a bit problematic. For example, the roast beef and beef fillet for the Mongolian grill. There was quite a lot of meat juice in the bowls, so it looked a bit unappetizing, more like a bacteria breeding station. When that much juice comes out of meat, it also says something about the quality of the meat (not properly hung, for example). Also, different pieces of the same type of meat in the same tray had different colors (some of which looked a bit oxidized to me, but I'm no expert; it could have been something else). In retrospect, that should have been a warning sign for me – because it suggests that the meat tray was refilled with raw meat instead of being replaced – which would also explain the amount of meat juice, and which would lead to more breeding time for bacteria (which then have a party in the remaining meat juice...). Additionally, the buffet area is very narrow, which makes the whole thing quite uncomfortable – but compared to the nausea, that's certainly not the main problem.... I can only advise against going! Of course, I can't prove that that's where my stomach problems came from, but otherwise, I hadn't eaten anything critical that would explain the discomfort.

We make the trip there once or twice a year. The reserved table is usually free, but not this time! Furthermore, a large portion of the buffet was empty and unrefilled the entire evening. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired; an order was forgotten, and the service was difficult to catch! On top of that, there's a hefty price increase compared to the past... the hygiene of the sweets, especially the ice cream, also leaves a lot to be desired!

The food was delicious and there was a wide selection.

My beloved husband and I visited this wonderful restaurant for the first time today. First of all, I want to highlight the friendly service staff, the always friendly and smiling people who were ready to help with our choices 🫶 and even the used dishes disappeared from the table as if they had never been there 🥰 And most importantly, everything I tried this time was incredibly delicious. Sushi with eel, my favorite wakame salad, breaded meat, and the most pleasant sweets for my serotonin levels 😉 Even though we were just passing through, we will definitely be back ❤️ You are not like the all-you-can-eat restaurants we've been to before 🤗 Thank you so much 🥰

Anyone who eats there has only themselves to blame!! Absolutely not recommended We arrived and weren't even seated. We were asked for drinks. We were given three small Cokes and two large ones. In the end, we got three 0.5L cups and two 1L cups. We were really surprised. What is this supposed to mean? A buffet, if you can call it a buffet, it's unappealing, cold, and tasteless. It was a huge pain to pay for the garbage they sell there as a buffet. Never again.

The food at Restaurant Panda was decent, freshly prepared, and of solid flavor. The selection is extensive, including classic Asian dishes as well as a few unique specialties. However, the service was rather mediocre—wait times were a bit long and the service was only moderately attentive. The value for money is okay, but there are comparable restaurants in the area with a slightly better overall impression.

The food is great and the staff is very nice

The buffet was very empty; there was hardly anything edible left. The leftovers were also very unsightly; no one refilled the food or even cleared it away. I arrived as a cart, and that was fine, but it wasn't convincing. I often go to this area, but I personally can't recommend the restaurant. No one asked for more drinks either; my glass had been empty for a while, and no one came.

We actually enjoyed the visit a lot. Unfortunately, we felt very sick on the way home and everyone there complained of severe stomach upsets that same evening. It's a shame, but I'll avoid visiting in the future.

Was good.....The cellar is super friendly

Considering the price (buffet), the quality of the meat seemed rather mediocre. Still, there was a large selection.

Buffet is sufficient and has a good selection, both of uncooked products for the grill and cooked dishes. Price/performance is completely fine. Nice and friendly staff. The only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't enough space around the buffet and the food was arranged on two levels.

We are always satisfied when we are there

We usually go to a Chinese restaurant 5 minutes away from this one. Because of the very good reviews we thought we would visit the Panda today. Unfortunately we were bitterly disappointed 😞 The reception was nice and the staff friendly 👍 Unfortunately, we noticed as soon as we arrived that the restaurant had probably seen its best days behind it and was only in need of some makeshift repairs. Unsightly repaired and glued everywhere with a lot of silicone. The walls at the tables are covered in food residue and the paint or wallpaper is peeling everywhere. The buffet area is very small and narrow. Everything looked much bigger in the photos and videos. Too few scoops everywhere. Sushi selection was small but okay. Unfortunately, the food on top of the plates was only lukewarm to cold. Unfortunately there was no spring in the spring rolls, just a pureed mass and the dough was as tough as leather. The dumplings are also cold and filled with pureed mixture 👎 The selection for the Mongolian grill was fresh but unfortunately not very large. The fried food then smelled extremely strongly of over-fried grill fat. So much so that I couldn't eat it and lost my appetite. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try the scoop dishes anymore, but they were all too sweet for my husband. For 50 euros (without drinks) for 2 people, we ate enough but not really well 🤷‍♀️

A wonderful evening spent with the family. DESERVE

We visited this restaurant for the first time with my family. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. They consider people over the age of 12 as adults. I paid a total of 88 Euros for me and my 11, 15 and 20 year old daughters. Everything is served as an open buffet, but an extra fee is charged for drinks. We came to this restaurant for lunch. Food variety was limited. For example, there was no trout left and no new ones were being brought in. Ice creams were very tasteless. We will definitely not visit again.

Unfortunately the food looked very unappetizing. The selection for vegetarians was quite disappointing - hardly any dishes without meat, and even the sushi only had fish options. There was an unpleasant smell in the restaurant, which further spoiled our appetite. When it came to dessert, I noticed that the ice cream spoons may not always be cleaned thoroughly - a little more hygiene would be desirable here. Overall, unfortunately not a positive experience.

Out of ten times I ordered jasmine tea, I only got it once, and every time I received green tea. I specifically asked for it to be jasmine tea, and yet I got green tea again..🤷 The food is good, but the decor could be a bit better.

We went to the restaurant for lunch for the first time (and certainly not the last time) on November 22nd, 2024. The location is pleasantly bright, the food/selection is very good and the staff is very friendly, helpful and attentive.

It was an incredible experience, the food was divine, 5 stars isn't enough, it's a fantastic restaurant.

The Panda in Bad Säckingen has been my number 1 for years. Everything from the service to the food on offer to the price-performance ratio is just right. The only thing that could do with some work is the ambience. The facility is a bit old.

Very fine food. Staff was friendly and quick with the drinks. Unfortunately, the fried noodles were bland and I didn't like it. I know them differently. Everything else was very nice! It had a huge selection of fresh seafood and smaller selections of meat. Of course there were tons of dishes. Price for adult lunch: 16.50 euros. Child up to 11 years: 11.50 euros. You can eat as much as you want there! TOP!

Very tasty dishes, balanced spices. The staff is very friendly and competent. There are no waiting times. A few repairs need to be made to the exterior. But that doesn't hurt the restaurant. My recommendation, try it out.

Horrible place, non-existent staff, cold, old and poor food, very little choice of sushi, in fact almost zero, drinks placed in huge and very uncomfortable glasses, zero hygiene, both inside and outside, we ate outside and there weren't even placemats and chopsticks, plus they cleaned a dirty table with just a rag, excessive price for what we ate, if I don't get food poisoning I have to thank Jesus, I won't go back again and I don't recommend it to anyone.

The all-you-can-eat buffet is highly recommended. Soup, salad, sushi, Mongolian grill, breaded, fried, typical and delicious dessert. We'd love to come back.

Food wasn't good. Salmon was ordered and crispy fish was served. The menu stated that the food was spicy. However, the meals had little to no taste. Portions, however, were very large. The quality of the meat was very low. We also had to wait a long time for the bill. A thoroughly disappointing dinner.
