China Restaurant Ginza in Bad Säckingen

I finally managed to try the Ginza Restaurant/buffet today. After reading and hearing so many bad things, I still dared to go. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised and can't understand the negative reviews at all. I don't know where you usually go to eat, but name a better place! The selection is top-notch, plenty of different kinds of sushi, a wide variety of fish, meat, and everything else. Everyone will find something there and is guaranteed to leave satisfied. I'm not someone who likes everything, but I have to say everything I had there was delicious. Unfortunately, there are some people in suits who want to be posh, so I have to say, go to a 5-star restaurant and enjoy your 5-course meal. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic Chinese restaurant. Something for everyone. Huge selection of ingredients for the griddle and boiled and fried dishes. Feast to your heart's content. Nice decor, also suitable for large groups. Attentive and friendly staff.

Now it's purely commercial...it used to be lovely, but for the prices, the mass catering, and the now-deteriorating quality...no...we won't be going there anymore...all you can eat...but please, as quickly as possible...

It used to be... But now it's just mass catering. We reserved a table by phone, then when we arrived they told us to just find one. We finally "fought" for a table in the furthest corner. We could only get to the buffet if the guests at the other tables went too, otherwise it was impossible to get through. The food wasn't nearly as good as it used to be, just mass-produced junk. No thanks. Never again.

This was our first time at Ginza, and we loved it. The decor is simple and straightforward, without any unnecessary frills, which we appreciated. The concept is simple and uncomplicated. We found the price per person more than fair. We arrived at 5:30 pm and were able to choose our own seats. We shared the buffet with about four other people until around 6:15 pm. We also appreciate the €5 charge for taking too much food and not finishing it. The €3 surcharge for arriving two hours or more didn't affect us, but we found it a bit customer-unfriendly. However, we understand the intended purpose. About 90% of the food we ate was good. The floor was quite slippery and oily in places, which we didn't like. But we'll definitely be back; we enjoyed it too much!

A little Chinese guy was really rude. My wife and I were there when he came and took our rose. And it was only 8:30 pm. They're open until 11 pm on weekdays. Very classy. Why do you put a rose out for everyone and then take it away in the middle of the meal? Is that how things are done in China? Then when we paid, it said it cost 27.90 or something like that on weekdays, drinks cost 4 euros, and we didn't even have any alcohol. I still wonder how we paid 70 euros for two people. I don't even understand how you guys were so unfriendly, especially with small change. Like I said, the little Chinese guy with his hairline was the worst. Never again. You have enough competition, go there.

The food was extremely bad. The meat was old and dried out, and everything tasted almost the same. The sushi was the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten; the rice was slimy and the fish tasted of nothing. None of the desserts were tasty, and all the fruit was canned and served directly at the buffet.

I think the all-you-can-eat and drink offer is great. The food is fresh and the selection is huge. There is a wheelchair parking space, but it's quite narrow, especially when others aren't parked in their space, and with a side lift, it gets tight. However, there's another option across the street where you have plenty of room to exit. The entrance has a raised edge of about 8mm; for wheelchairs longer than 80cm, the second door can still be opened. There's a fair amount of space around the buffet to maneuver around. Unfortunately, the drink stations are quite high and therefore difficult for small wheelchair users to reach. However, the tables are easily accessible. The wheelchair-accessible restroom is a drawback. Because there's a changing table in the middle, it's difficult to get to the restroom. Furthermore, there's unfortunately no grab bar on the wall. And the folding grab bar on the other side has the toilet paper stuck to the back, so every time you lift the handle, the paper falls out. Therefore, a toilet paper holder is also needed on the wall. There is still NO GRABBAR ON THE WALL!!!

⭐☆☆☆☆ Serious hygiene deficiencies documented – Immediate remediation required. During an inspection on June 23, 2025, numerous deficiencies were identified, which were published on July 17, 2025. The report cites, among other things: Defective or damaged floor areas Inadequate cooling temperatures in the self-service counter (meat, fish, shellfish) Contaminated storage containers and inadequate covering of open food items Worn ice cream scoops, dirty griddles, old grease in drains Contaminated sinks, dirty work surfaces, and rotten grout Employees wearing dirty work clothes Ant infestation in the storage room Water accumulation and a musty odor in the dishwashing area Undermining of floor tiles with water sources I quote: "Floors damaged in various places. Inadequate temperatures in the self-service counter for beef, poultry, fresh fish, shellfish, and mussels. Storage containers contaminated inside. Ice cream flavors offered without product labeling. Vanilla-flavored ice cream was labeled as vanilla ice cream. The ice cream scoop was worn. The sink was contaminated inside. Silicone seals on the wall and grill plate are peeling off. Grill plate heat extractor is contaminated. The grease duct of the grill plate and microwave is dirty. The kitchen floor area under the kitchen units, on the floor, on the wall, and in the stove area was dirty. Employees were partially wearing dirty work clothes. Live ants were seen in the storage room. Water accumulation and contamination in the scullery caused an unpleasant, rotten, musty, decay-like odor. Food was being stored uncovered in the freezer. The floor tile was undermined. Water oozed out when exposed to pressure. Such conditions are unacceptable in a catering establishment. The combination of temperature violations, contamination, pest infestation, and inadequate cleaning demonstrates that essential hygiene and operational standards were not being met. I hope that Ginza GmbH will immediately correct all deficiencies, introduce permanent hygiene and pest monitoring, and be able to pass regular inspections without any complaints in the future.

This was my second time visiting the Ginza restaurant. The food there is delicious, with a great selection. I also really like that drinks are included, and everyone can help themselves to whatever they want. On the downside, I have to say that the restaurant is probably very popular—when we were there, it was quite busy and noisy. Nevertheless, we enjoyed it very much.

We now eat there monthly. The variety is enormous, and there's something for every taste. The quality is very good, and you can eat everything without hesitation.

The staff member who welcomed us was very nice and friendly. Although we came with no reservation they were able to find us a table quickly. The restaurant was packed with people. To the point I thought if I put my plate for the grill it'll be forgotten because there were so many plates on the counter. Surprisingly, it was not. The meat was fresh and tasty. All the other dishes I tried were also very tasty. The toilet and the rest of the restaurant was clean.

Mass processing We were supposed to pay a €5 fine (see photo). Because the four of us had left over. That was the last time we went to Ginza Wallbach. I think it's really busy here. They can't get enough.

Very large selection and especially the drinks are included in the price

The food was delicious but the service was not. The staff couldn't refill my drinks, not everything was really warm and the food took about 1.5 hours to cook at the freshly prepared counter.

I can't recommend this restaurant. Upon arrival, you're immediately told that you can't stay there for longer than two hours. No one needs to tell us that in an all-can-eat restaurant, because everyone knows they thrive on the crowds that come to eat there. At some point, a very unfriendly, somewhat older woman came to our table and told us we had to eat everything. I told her it wasn't a problem and I would eat it all, but she shouldn't be surprised if I threw up afterward. She told us if we didn't finish it, we'd have to pay an extra €5 😂. Hey, by that point, I was so full that I just couldn't eat anything else 😂. Do you know what happened next? I couldn't eat any more because I was simply too full, and I wasn't willing to pay the extra €5 anyway 😜 Aside from the two things that happened there, there was a happy ending: the evening was free 😁

The food was very delicious, nicely seasoned. The staff were friendly.

If you're coming for the first time, it would be nice to get an explanation of how everything works. We arrived at 5:40 PM, a bit lost at the entrance, and were ushered in. But that was about all the service we could get. The food was nothing special. The grilled meat, especially, was very tough. The dessert selection was okay. The coffee machine didn't have any milk for a cappuccino, and the cup had several corners chipped. When we paid, the lady at the cashier had a smartphone in her hand and a plate of food in front of her. We were lucky to be allowed to pay. All in all, not recommended.

After the renovation, it has definitely become more beautiful and the quality has also improved.

A very large Asian restaurant with 400(!) seats, but divided into several smaller units. Modern, stylish, very clean, and not overly cluttered interior. We were there for lunch on a weekday and were more than satisfied. Very friendly welcome and service, a very large buffet, very clean, appetizingly presented and stocked, tasty and with something for everyone, and what we were very surprised about was the very large and extensive selection of sushi, as well as fresh ingredients prepared on the grill. Also very worth mentioning is not only the all-you-can-eat, but also the all-you-can-drink option. For a reasonable surcharge, many different drinks and juices are included, as well as coffee, and even simple alcoholic beverages like beer and wine! The restaurant was very busy for a weekday afternoon, which may also be due to the relatively reasonable prices. We will definitely come back.

I was here for the first time today and was unfortunately very disappointed. Upon arrival, it was unclear whether I would be assigned a seat or should sit down myself. After all the employees walked past me several times, I finally sat down myself. A lady immediately recommended the "all you can eat" package, which I didn't want. When paying, the card machine didn't work, and I was asked to pay in cash. Furthermore, without consulting me, I was charged three times for the most expensive dish, even though I had only ordered it once. After a long discussion, the amount was reduced from €70 to €60, but I was also charged a 10% "penalty" because my son didn't drink anything – a procedure that I found completely incomprehensible. The food itself was okay, but not outstanding in quality – typical Chinese fare with a lot of batter around the meat. Overall, the experience was unfortunately very disappointing, especially because of the way I was treated as a guest. I certainly won't be coming again.

It was a fantastic evening. I highly recommend it.

Fresh, fine, you can try different

Very, very good Chinese restaurant with a large selection. We come mainly for the sushi. I have to deduct one point because the grill masters unfortunately always cook everything twice over 🙈 The selection and the freshness of the grill are really great. Unfortunately, I can't eat it anymore when it's so dry after cooking. If you can manage that, you'll get full marks 👍

A very large, varied, and delicious buffet with raw ingredients (fish, meat, vegetables), ready-made dishes, salads, and desserts. You can have your meal freshly prepared using raw meat and/or fish. Drinks are included in the price. The value for money is good. The service is good and friendly.

It's an all-you-can-eat and drink concept, so the service isn't great. It was very busy when I was there, which also put some pressure on the staff. The buffet was extensive and catered to everyone's taste.

An incredibly extensive buffet with freshly prepared Chinese dishes, as well as sushi, cakes and ice creams, vegetables, salads, and a drinks bar—a huge selection of everything. The grill buffet is special; grilled food is delivered to your table by a robot. I've never seen such a long buffet! Friendly staff, plenty of space. I'd love to go back. A very pleasant surprise!

Everything was delicious, but the desserts still have a lot of room for improvement. It's a shame that wine is only available from the tap; it tastes like vinegar and is therefore undrinkable.

Great food, everything's just right. But I won't go there anymore because almost all the people who come are Swiss and eat everything, and then I have to wait until it's refilled. Not like this.

Unfortunately, I have to say that was a complete misstep. It probably wasn't anything. We thought we'd give it a try, but once and never again, we'd rather drive a few kilometers to Lörrach. The food is so-so, more like a snack bar than a restaurant.

A good all-you-can-eat restaurant (including soft drinks if you want them). The selection is really extensive. From sushi to ice cream, they have it all. Various types of meat, including unusual ones like zebra, kangaroo, etc., are available if you want to try them. Once you choose, a chef will cook it fresh and then bring it to your table. The atmosphere is okay; we were there once on a Saturday evening. We could hardly talk because it was far too busy. We went for Sunday lunch.

Unfortunately, I always get the wrong side dish on my plate, for example fish from the grill. I don't eat fish, but after grilling there is fish on it, the meat is completely cooked, burnt and dried out. I would think I was eating the sole of a shoe.

We were there at lunchtime; everything was top-notch. The food was delicious, with a large selection. We'd be happy to go back.

I've often heard that it's good. I tried it once and it was a huge disappointment. The plates and glasses are dirty and damaged. The food is often cold and you can really tell that it's been sitting there for a while. The cakes and sweets in the fridge taste of fish. All the fruit isn't ripe. The chocolate fountain is very dirty because it seems like it's never mopped or the sticks are ever changed/washed. The only good thing about this place, unlike other all-you-can-eat places, is that you don't have to pay for drinks.

The food is excellent and the selection is very large, but the staff doesn't speak German very well, but they are all very, very friendly and very helpful.

Was put down by the boss himself. Lunch buffet is open until 3 p.m. At 2:20 p.m. I wanted to ask if they were still making baked chicken in honey and fried noodles because there were 5 of us and there were 15-20 guests in the restaurant. He simply said no because it was already 2:30 p.m. even though I showed him the time and it was 2:20 p.m. At the checkout he “accidentally” charged more, which I also paid and told him that it wasn’t nice how he treated customers and that it was the last time we were there. (Regular customers for almost 7 years) He just smiled provocatively and said very cheekily, well then it won't come anymore. Unbelievable really.

The store itself is nice, but if someone uses a cane and is obviously disabled and wants to use the disabled toilet, they will be refused. Instead, you will be asked to use the regular toilet. The behavior of the employee and the boss was absolutely unfriendly - no excuse, even when it became clear that we were upset about the way we were treated. In addition, the quality has decreased compared to last time, while the prices have increased - especially if you order alcohol with it. After this experience I definitely won't come here again. At Tenmanya in Lörrach the people are much friendlier. Here you will find the unfriendly Chinese restaurants within a 30 km radius. (BTW the incident was on February 14th, 2025 at noon)

The Ginza restaurant is a place where you eat well and the food is tasty. You have many varieties to choose from. The staff is also attentive to the customer's needs and serves you quite quickly. Parking is free. There is also a room where children can play, as well as a few slot machines. We have been coming to this restaurant for 7 years and even though the price has gone up quite a bit compared to past years, the quality is the same. We recommend!

Great restaurant with a huge selection. Dishes can either be taken from the buffet or selected and freshly prepared yourself! Everyone will find something to suit their taste here! 👍 The selection of desserts including ice cream is also impressive. Lots of space! Very clean: tables are constantly cleaned and plates cleared. Toilets are also very clean and well maintained! Emomissable👍

High quality fast food, so to speak. I actually tried everything. So the whole buffet. There was nothing I wouldn't take again. I've been there three times so far and always more than satisfied and satisfied. However, I recommend that everyone who, like me, can shovel in, to give a decent tip for decency's sake. Very good buffet at a good price Has lots of places to sit

The prices are made as you please. The gentleman at the reception or at the “checkout” is very unfriendly and sets the prices as he wants. Buffet including drinks is priced at €40. We asked him that according to the menu it was €34.90 and he didn't come to meet us and was very unfriendly. I had to pay €13 for a coke. When we noticed that unfortunately we wouldn't be coming again, he said "it's better that way". Customer friendliness is different! The toilets are very dirty. There are used ties lying around. The food isn't great, but it's okay. The only “positive” here. Hospitality is different...

I had dinner here with my partner today. The food was inedible! It was so extremely greasy, even the fried rice was swimming in oil! It was not possible to finish the food. We would be made aware that if the plate was not eaten completely empty, we would have to pay an extra €5 per plate. However, it was not possible to eat during the meal. We then told the lady that, but she was just annoyed when we said that unfortunately it wasn't edible. The dessert cakes were still frozen on the inside. A ready-made Asian dish from the supermarket would have been better and certainly of higher quality. It's a shame that we paid just under €70 for this disappointment and subsequent stomach ache. Absolutely not recommended!!

Saturday evening, every space around the restaurant is parked with cars. The staff is hopelessly overwhelmed by the flood of guests. The food is quite fatty and the taste is not crazy. The floor in the toilet was a puddle of water and slipping all evening! An inspection and cleaning in between is probably not planned. The restaurant is far too small for the number of guests that evening.

I'm here often. Large selection, drinks are part of the menu price. Everything fits.

The food is delicious, except for the chicken, which was pretty pink. There were seven of us and we couldn't finish our fruit, so we asked if we could take it with us. The answer was that you would have to pay an extra €5. I find it absolutely unacceptable and also disgraceful. I pay €40 for one person and then suddenly I have to pay an extra €5 because I ask for a box to take it with me? They also said that we shouldn't take so much, I totally understand, but when you're such a big group, you can't estimate who would eat how much of it. Even if we had left the fruit there, it would just be thrown away, it would be a total waste.

The dishes are not that special in terms of taste. On a scale of 1-10 I would lean towards 5. I can recommend it for people who want to spend a fixed amount and eat and drink until they burst. I won't go there again. I'd rather spend a little more but it tastes good (somewhere else of course).

We had dinner here today for a festive occasion. Unfortunately, there was wire and a blue rubber band from the packaging material in the spring rolls. No one responded to our complaint and we were ignored. Pay attention!!!

Food as always good. After the renovation, the ambience now looks like a canteen. The staff was a bit overwhelmed by the large number of people, but they tried very hard.

The restaurant is in an industrial area and is surrounded by bright neon lights. The dining areas seem a bit unkempt and the staff is unusual and unfriendly.
