The food and service is good. The ambience leaves a lot to be desired. Uncomfortable chairs and the tables look worn out. The rooms are also not attractive. There is a lack of attention to detail.

The food is relatively elaborate. You should pay attention to the opening times so that you have more than an hour to spare. It's not a fast food joint.

We were here two years ago and loved it! Unfortunately the prices have risen and the portions have become smaller 🤷‍♂️ It's a shame actually 🤔

It was good. The wait until we got a drink was quite long. The service was moderately friendly. With the 39€ menu, there was an option to choose another side dish with the duck. But we weren't asked. When I asked about it, I was not very kindly told that it was already on the way, but then without comment the request was put on the table. I have to say friendly is different. No smile, no question as to whether everything was OK...the quality of the food was average. The sushi aisle was really narrow, not like the previous pictures. I would have expected a little more.

😢I was once really excited about the sushi there. My mother too! For years it was the only place where we enjoyed eating. I've been there again and I'm totally disappointed! The sushi kept getting bigger in my mouth because the seaweed sheet was too solid and tasted like rubber! We had to spit it out. Raising prices is okay, but then the quality also has to be right. 😢😡🤢 Sorry, but they won't see us again in the Orchideea. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤢 Too bad! 😢 PS also the summer rolls weren't what they used to be.

Ordered duck and shrimp soup to pick up. It was ready very quickly, which is unfortunately how it tasted. We used to stop here and eat on site, and it was always very tasty and well prepared. What we had in our take-away restaurants wasn't even at snack level. Sauce was forgotten, soup was oily, duck was dry, vegetables were tasteless and overcooked. Too bad, what's going on?

I ordered duck crispy, but it was simply covered with a weak sauce and was therefore no longer crispy. Otherwise service and ambience very good.

Every time we visit Wernigerode we stop here at least once. The food is authentic, tastes very good and the entire team is friendly and solution-oriented. See you next time!

A very, very tasty dinner for two. Every dish was absolutely delicious. Definitely a big recommendation if you want a special meal!

The two of us were here during our vacation in Wernigerode. An incompetent newcomer (trainee) as a waiter, waiting times were very long, menus were reduced because many things were no longer available. Soup and main course were ok but nothing more, but the dessert (crepe) was a disgrace! Cold crepe (much too thick dough) with a few fruits, complaint was completely ignored, and what about the prices? The restaurant may have been good once, but now I definitely can't recommend it.

Absolutely 5 stars, everything was just right, rarely found such a good Asian restaurant.

After a few years we went here for sushi again. We used to always be thrilled and give 5 stars. But unfortunately this restaurant has also declined somewhat. We looked online beforehand to see what we wanted to eat and were looking forward to it. Bad idea. Because there weren't many dishes. They were in the card, with the price stuck underneath with the word AUS. So the selection was no longer particularly large and what we wanted wasn't there. Given the higher prices, that's not appropriate. The service is no longer as nice as it used to be. More of a dispatch. It's a shame, we were looking forward to this evening.

My new favorite restaurant, not just for special days. Especially numbers 5, 13 and 50 are my favorites. Finally - a must - Vietnamese coffee with sweet condensed milk.

We spontaneously decided on Orchidea Huong and asked for a table for two without a reservation on a Friday evening around 6:30 p.m. After consulting the lady at the entrance Two other employees offered us a table on the upper floor and warned us that it would take a while because there was a lot to do at the moment. We immediately received the two menus (Japanese with lots of sushi and Vietnamese with dishes from all parts of Vietnam) as well as small damp towels to refresh and clean our hands. We then had a good 20 minutes to make our choice before our order was taken. After this waiting time, everything went faster, the service was very good and attentive: the drinks arrived in no time and we had barely taken the first sip when we were served a greeting from the kitchen (sushi) (yummy!). A few minutes later our main course arrived, which we had chosen from the Japanese menu. We enjoyed it very much. The large amount of work in the house had now been managed. We ordered two more desserts and were again very satisfied. Conclusion: We were lucky to get a table without a reservation and were very impressed with the quality of the food and the service.

Eine nette Abwechslung zu der eher kulinarischen Karstlandschaft in Wernigerode. Im Vergleich zu den Mitbewerbern hier gut, anderswo eher oberes Mittelfeld. Serive und Essen waren gut, der Garten auch. Die Innenräume eher ohne Ambiente. Preis - Leistung waren in Ordnung.

A dream. Unfortunately there are only 5 points for the service. I'll voluntarily add another 5. Food: We had e.g. the 6 course menu. So delicious. It doesn't look like much, but by the end you'll be completely full. We are looking forward to the next time.

So the food was delicious, but I expected more (also based on the reviews). Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right here. Service was overwhelmed, but still good.

My 25 euro main course was very tasty on the menu. (See Appendix) Then came 2 small slices of meat with an approx. 2x2cm slice of mango that you couldn't even see under the meat. So absolutely not like in the map!!! The waiter then came with the excuse that the dish is normally served in the form of a 6-course menu and it is different without the menu. Just cheeky when you consider that the meal costs 25 euros even without a menu. Add to that the unfriendly waiter and I was served! Otherwise everything was very tasty, which is what I expect given the prices. The sushi specialties are very tasty and highly recommended. I wouldn't come back.

Gleich zu Beginn, eigentlich 4,5 Punkte, geht leider nicht! Essen echt toll, super frisch zubereitet. Wir hatten das Menü, Einen halben Punkt Abzug für die Ente, war leider nicht kross. Bedienung und Service super. Auf die Allergie unserer Tochter Rücksicht genommen und das Essen so umgestellt das es keine Probleme gab. Wir kommen gern wieder.

It was my wife's birthday. When making the reservation, I asked if it was possible to decorate the table a little differently and what can I say: it was wonderful! A beautiful bouquet of roses stood on a separate table - everything was arranged very lovingly, my wife was thrilled! The food was just as excellent and so was the service: starting with the warm, moist towels at the beginning, the friendly service and the nice boss. A great address in Werningerode, highly recommended!

We were there for the first time on a recommendation and can recommend it with a clear conscience. The service and the entire team are very friendly and attentive. The food is very well prepared, the quality is high and very tasty. You should take some time, as everything is freshly prepared and the kitchen can only work to serve high quality food, it sometimes takes a little longer depending on how many guests order at the same time. A very clear recommendation.

We have been to this restaurant several times and have always been satisfied. Now it was different: the roasted duck was only served lukewarm and when we asked why we were the only ones who didn't get a "welcome schnapps", we were told that we were Forgot.However, we declined the "reserve" and went home quite disappointed.

Best quality and food for the soul, a true pleasure trip in one of the few good restaurants in Wernigerode

We wanted to eat good Asian food. Following a recommendation, we spontaneously went to Orchidea. It would be difficult without a reservation, but we were lucky. The boss seems slightly cold, but the young waitress is very polite and friendly. The cards (Vietnamese and Japanese) seem selected, the prices are rather high. In terms of taste, we couldn't find any difference in the taste of the Teriaki chicken and duck (each with fried noodles) compared to a normal Chinese restaurant. The portions are also not necessarily enough to fill you up. Price/performance not consistent.

A wonderful culinary journey to the Far East. Very tasty (even things that might not appear from the name), great service. The experience has its price, but it is worth every cent. I would like to go there a third time as soon as I can.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed today. Since I moved away after studying, a visit to Orchidea has always been at the top of the list when we go to Wernigerode. The tofu soup alone is worth the visit. Unfortunately, our evening today didn't live up to the anticipation. We had reserved weeks ago and studied the map. So now we sat and were hardly noticed for 20 minutes, even though we had put the cards aside for a while. After ordering, we received our 3 courses in less than 40 minutes. When we wanted to order something more, we were looked at in shock - we didn't know whether that would still be possible. It didn't work. Even though it was only 8:50 p.m., there was already no more fried rice. In the meantime, all the places around us were empty. Only one other table occupied. Uncomfortable. We were no longer offered dessert, even though it was well before the restaurant closed. There was only coffee. However, we had to wait another 15 minutes to pay because we were ignored again. Instead of a carafe of table water, there was the smaller and more expensive bottle of still water. Overall, it's a shame. Totally uncomfortable “bouncer” atmosphere. Just wondering if it was the last visit. Overall, you could have communicated differently & at least pointed out right at the beginning that you have to expect a limited offer on Friday at 8 p.m.

We were looking for an Asian sushi restaurant and chose this one. The atmosphere inside is very nice and cozy. We were served immediately. The warm wet towels for the hands were very nice. After a lot of back and forth, we decided on the 7-course menu. Everything was wonderfully delicious. For the palate but also for the eyes. Conclusion: In my opinion, the Orchid is a gourmet restaurant where you can get dishes that are also pleasing to the eye. The price is corresponding too. But if you want to get your fill cheaply, you should look for another restaurant.

Magical atmosphere, very friendly service and extremely delicious food.

We were there for the third time and were thrilled every time. Just being greeted with warm towels for cleaning is wonderful here. There are 2 menus and a special menu. The 6 course menu is highly recommended as there is a large selection of dishes. I've already tried it twice. You then have to bring the appropriate amount of time with you. But 2 hours passed quickly. The restaurant is highly recommended and is not for nothing among the top 40 Asian restaurants. We will definitely come back…

On the recommendation of a colleague, I tried this restaurant for dinner. It was very busy (Wednesday evening), but they still had a free table on the upper floor for me. I don't know how it's set up on the ground floor, but upstairs it was pretty functional and cramped. I took summer rolls with shrimp as a starter, which tasted really delicious, especially with the dip, which was incredibly good and strongly seasoned. I asked the waitress for the name of the dip, but unfortunately after a few incomprehensible words she quickly disappeared again. Beforehand there was a small piece of sushi as a greeting from the kitchen, which also tasted excellent. For the main course I ordered a large fish soup with butterfish. The portion was really huge. Unfortunately, I wasn't that impressed with the soup. A tad too sour for me. I also somehow missed the diverse flavors. The butterfish pieces were also very firm. Either it was overcooked or dried fish had been used, but there was nothing wrong with the taste of the fish. As I said, it was very busy that evening, which is why I turned a blind eye to the long waiting time and the cool, yet polite manner of the service. I will definitely try it again, and maybe try sushi next time. Update September 13, 2023: I tried sushi today and it was delicious.

My parents and I just wanted to have a nice day and grab something to eat before we went to this store. We're definitely not thrilled. The food was simply terrible, you had to wait far too long and the whole thing was also overpriced. The service from the staff was quite acceptable, but that doesn't change the fact that the rest is more than just in need of improvement. I can't recommend anyone to go there because, as I said, everything is way too overpriced and the waiting time is too long. You also sit table to table and feel like you're locked in a kennel. Not a pleasant feeling. In addition, if you say that you want to pay, you have to wait more than half an hour until you can finally leave. Absolutely not recommended the store. You get a stomach ache from the food for free.

The young man who has been working there for a short time unfortunately clouds the positive image somewhat with his abrupt and very unfriendly manner - both on the phone and in person. It is a perfectly coordinated restaurant. Everything fits together and you can tell how much thought went into building it here. The food is also very good. You should bring your time because you just want to enjoy and absorb the entire atmosphere.

The restaurant is a real insider tip. The service, ambience and food are exceptionally good and always worth a visit. We recommend the menu “Travel through the Countries” (or something similar). Small point deduction: If something changes in the menu, please discuss it with the guest ;-) Otherwise, keep it up. I look forward to the next visit

We ate there on Saturday and had the 6 course menu. Everything was really perfect, both eating and waiting times, even though it was very busy.

Very nice atmosphere, very good food and pleasant service. The prices are also very reasonable. I have already been to Vietnam and Japan and can confirm that it is really authentic here.

There have been some not so positive comments recently, but we can't agree with them. The food was excellent, as was the service. The wine list is worth more than a glance. The white wine selection is great and goes well with Vietnamese cuisine.

Overall, the restaurant left us with a good impression. We had ordered the "culinary trip" which came to the table at regular intervals despite the restaurant being full. Some drinks that are not available (here the spring wine - specially advertised, Japanese cappuccino) and the somewhat opaque quality of the fish on the sushi (but not spoiled) are worthy of criticism. Otherwise, the service was very good (e.g. menu components were exchanged without any problems! The restaurant ambience is appealing, but a bit old. Gladly again!

Es war großartig! Super lecker & toller Service. Auf der Speisekarte gibt es zu jedem Gericht ein Foto, sodass man sich besser vorstellen kann, was man bestellt.

Das Ambiente ist natürlich wirklich schön, aber für die Preise ist die Qualität wirklich nicht berauschend und die Größe der Portionen ein Witz.

Das Essen ist gut. Was mich jedoch stört, dass es seit einigen Jahren immer die gleiche Karte ist und keine Abwechslung stattfindet. Wer zum ersten Mal dort hin geht, kann dort sehr gut vietnamesisch und japanisch essen. Ich lege erstmal eine Pause ein, da ich nun alles kenne, mich nichts mehr überrascht und bei den Preisen wünscht man sich Innovation und Abwechslung.

Wir hatten uns auf einen schönen Abend im Orchidea gefreut. Leider waren wir etwas hungrig, die Wartezeit bis das Essen serviert wurde, betrug deutlich mehr als eine Stunde. Der Service ist freundlich und das Essen ist gut aber nicht überragend.

Wir waren schon öfter hier. Sehr war wieder ein super Service und ein sehr leckeres Essen.

Eine Stunde Wartezeit bis wir erst mal ein Getränk hatten. Es war kalt in den Räumlichkeiten und auf die Nachfrage, ob die Heizung höher gestellt werden könnte, bekamen wir die Antwort, dass diese defekt wäre und erst am nächsten Tag repariert wird. Das hätte man schon bei unserem Eintreffen sagen können und vielleicht ein heißes Getränk als Entschädigung wäre nett gewesen. Aber das passierte nicht. Alle anwesenden Gäste froren so vor sich hin und übten sich in Geduld, schließlich haben sich alle auf einen schönen Abend gefreut. Wir hofften, dass das Essen dann wenigstens entschädigt. Die Enttäuschung war groß, nach zwei Stunden Warten im Kalten kam das Essen. Es war lauwarm, sah nicht besonders frisch aus und geschmacklich nicht gerade der Renner. Leider war dieser Restaurantbesuch ein purer Reinfall und schon der eine Punkt ein Punkt zu viel. Die Mitarbeiter wirkten gestresst und so als würden sie keine Lust haben. Wir werden dort keinesfalls ein zweites Mal hingehen und empfehlen dieses Restaurant ebenfalls nicht weiter.

Am Samstag des ersten Advent-Wochenendes sind wir nach dem Bummel über den Weihnachtsmarkt dort eingekehrt. Drei verschiedene Suppen (ich hatte die Butterfischsuppe 🥰) und zweimal Sushi später waren wir restlos begeistert! Alles war wirklich super schmackhaft, Respekt! Ebenfalls erwähnenswert: Zur Begrüßung gab es warmen Pflaumenwein (lecker!), ebenso wie feuchte (ebenfalls warme)Tücher um die Hände leicht zu reinigen. Alles in allem ein rundum schönes „Genießen“, jederzeit und gerne wieder!

Fantastisch ... kaum zu toppen ... es gibt nichts zu bemängeln.. drei Stunden sehr genossen. Es gab nichts auszusetzen...

Auf eine Empfehlung hin und weil wir gerade Urlaub in Wernigerode machen,resavierten wir einen Tisch. Das Servicepersonal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Nach einem warmen Handtuch,kam der kleine Gruß aus der Küche,der sehr schmackhaft war. Die Sommerröllchen mit Garnelen,als Vorspeise,waren sensationell. Ich bestellte mir die Sushibrücke. Kann es kaum in Worte fassen, weil ich so gefläscht war. Die verschiedenen Shushisorten waren geschmacklich,perfekt,ab gestimmt. Der Thunfisch/ Lachs und Butterfisch war von aller bester Qualität. Die gedünstet Birne mit Vanilleeis war der perfekte Abschluß. Dieses Restaurante ist wärmstens weiter zu empfehlen. Liebe Fr.Huong! Für Sie und Ihr Team alles Gute und machen Sie weiter so.

Man zahlt mehr für das Ambiente als für das Essen. Der Gruß aus der Küche war eine Mini Frühlingsrolle, die man beim Asia-Imbiss gratis zum Mittagessen bekommt. Die Sommerrollen mit Schrimps bestanden hauptsächlich aus Reisnudeln, einem Schrimp pro Rolle und ein paar Blätter Koriander. Die Soße dazu, kam nach Konsistenz und Geschmack her, direkt aus der Hoisin-Flasche. Wir hatten als Hauptgericht den Butterfisch in Kokossoße. Der Fisch war trocken und nichts außergewöhnliches. Meinem Geschmack nach wurde hier die fertige gelbe Currypaste aus dem Asiashop angerührt. Die Ente war gut angbraten, innen rosa zart, aber leider nicht knusprig. Bei beiden Hauptgerichten habe ich mehr Gemüse erwartet, dafür kann man auf die großen Deko-Karotten verzichten. Als ursprüngliche Vietnamesin war ich enttäuscht von der "Authenzität" des Essens. Die junge Bedienung war höflich und freundlich. Schön, dass die Bedienung das traditionelle Ao dai anhaben. Die japanische Karte haben wir nicht probiert, die können wir nicht bewerten.

Toller Service, qualitativ hochwertiges Essen, ein wirklich gelungener Abend - Danke, wir kommen gern wieder.

Nur kleine Köstlichkeiten bestellen, das reicht! Wir gehen immer gerne hier hin und genießen die Vorspeisen.

Da muss man nicht viel kommentieren. Wer etwas anderes sucht, als die Gluten-überfrachteten China-Imbisse mit Ente für 10,50, ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben. Das Ambiente hängt dem Ganzen etwas hinterher, aber das kann man schnell ändern. Essen war köstlich, die MA aufmerksam und sehr freundlich.

Hübsche Lokalität (besonders der Hinterhof), freundliches Personal, eine optisch sehr ansprechende Karte und dazu noch delikates Essen bzw. guter Wein - ein Besuch im Orchidea kann icb rundum empfehlen.

Absolut köstlich, hervorragende vietnamesische Küche , die nichts gemein hat mit den üblichen Imbisstuben. Der Umgang mit dem Personal gefällt mir allerdings weniger.

Bereits vor vielen Jahren waren wir gerne Gäste im Restaurant Orchidea und haben oft die Kulinarische Reise und Sushi genießen dürfen. So auch bei diesem Besuch ! Frau Copperpot und mir hat es auch im Jahre 2023 ausgezeichnet gemundet.Die Kulinarische Reise 2023 ähnelte die der von 2015 sehr.Wir waren wieder sehr zufrieden mit diesem Menü.
