We made a reservation and ate there today for 7 people. When we arrived, there was no reservation. Even though the restaurant was empty, they had trouble finding a table for us. We were shown to our table with an annoyed attitude and served after about 10 minutes. Every time we went to the buffet, we were stared at and the whole time we had the feeling that we weren't wanted and that we shouldn't take too much. Unfortunately, we didn't feel comfortable or welcome. No welcoming or farewell ouzo. I know that's not to be taken for granted, but we're used to something different from other restaurants and even from this restaurant's earlier times. In future, we will go to the numerous other Greek restaurants in Dresden. Very disappointing experience today. The food wasn't bad.

We went there for the buffet in the evening. The service was mostly attentive and friendly, but there's room for improvement. It took a long time to take our order, and we weren't asked for another round of drinks. Unfortunately, the drinks we were served didn't match our order either. Upon arrival, we were told the buffet would run until 8:30 p.m. By 8:15 p.m., EVERYTHING was already empty and hadn't been refilled. Buffet and à la carte dining. Choices from a rich salad buffet and various meats and side dishes. The quality and taste of the food are good. Unfortunately, the staff seemed a bit lackluster. Not a smile to be seen. Otherwise, a very nice and delicious restaurant.

You can visit, but you don't have to! We were guests with a voucher for the Schlemmerblock (2 main courses for the price of one). However, the host's explanation was quite brief: Each guest is allowed to take exactly two plates from the buffet – one for salad and one for the main course. There was no such thing as free buffet selection, as the other guests had. Instead, using the Schlemmerblock made us feel clearly stigmatized. As we walked to the buffet, the host also conspicuously observed us – a look that seemed uninviting and significantly diminished the enjoyment. Since we were only allowed to take one plate with a main course and some dishes were temporarily out of stock, we were watched while waiting at the buffet until it was refilled. The food got cold as a result, and the enjoyment was lost. In addition, the buffet was officially announced (website) until 9:00 PM, but was cleared promptly at 8:30 PM. There was also no request for a second round of drinks – apparently, there was no interest in it. Conclusion: Unfortunately, not recommended. A friendlier appearance and a bit more hospitality – starting with the host's facial expression – would be urgently needed.

We just don't understand it. The reviews were great, so we made a reservation. Then we arrived and encountered a completely uninterested host. No friendly hello, no active seating, as usual. And so the evening dragged on. The food was great. The decor is attractive, and the restrooms are clean. So, with the drink prices so high, why can't you just keep up the good work and sell more? We wanted to have a nice evening with you. But if we (and several other guests) are regularly ignored, then we simply won't make any sales. The neighboring tables were served and cleared once, but our empty glasses were only filled after repeated requests. If you would like to change tables, please let us know. So, at 9:30 on a Friday evening, we left an almost empty restaurant and drove past very well-stocked restaurants serving the same regional cuisine on the way home. The incorrect bill, which we only received after repeated requests, did the rest. The other restaurants will probably receive our money next. This is it for us. What a pity.

The visit to the Olympia restaurant was rather disappointing. The buffet wasn't worth the money—the overall experience was uncooperative and petty. A lot of money for little quality.

We were a student group, we arrived at 5:30 p.m., and everything was good, very tasty, and definitely highly recommended. The staff was very friendly, and we were given ouzo at the beginning and at the end. We were stuffed! The food was great! The restaurant is one of our favorite restaurants in Dresden. We'd be happy to go back!

We can't confirm some of the negative comments. You're always warmly welcomed, the obligatory ouzo is always served upon arrival and departure, and they ask if you're satisfied, etc.! The farewell is always warm and accompanied by a "Kalinichta" and the wish: "See you next time," which we are always happy to comply with. We honestly can't understand how, within such a short period of time, a thriving and very popular Greek restaurant could become a place that people avoid because perhaps one thing or another has changed. Just give the owner, his family, and his staff a chance. Tell him DIRECTLY what you don't like and don't hide behind some pseudonym. We're sure THEN it will work out! Ya mas!!

During the summer months, there's an extensive menu. Reservations are highly recommended! The Olympic plate was delicious. I'll be back!

The food was OK. The waiter was extremely unfriendly. He told me I had to order a large drink. It was extremely disappointing. Never again.

We were really looking forward to a lovely Greek evening, but the Olympia restaurant disappointed us. Upon arrival, we had to wait despite having a reservation, and were then asked at our table whether we would like to pay in cash or by card...what? That immediately dampened the mood. Unfortunately, the host was very unfriendly, and we felt completely unwelcome. After our meal, we weren't even asked if we wanted anything else. We found it particularly disappointing that the typical ouzo is only available for cash payments – it seems uninviting and doesn't fit at all with the Greek joie de vivre we were hoping for. There are so many Greeks...unfortunately, this one isn't.

I'm always hesitant when it comes to Greek food. Too meaty, tzatziki overshadows dry grilled food, etc. ... When my girlfriend recently decided we should go there, I was still skeptical. This is my third time here. The cuisine is varied, and the staff is super friendly and attentive. Best to make a reservation. I think I'll go again.

We ordered food. Unfortunately, the food seemed to have been sitting around for a long time. The fries were completely soggy and mushy, and the meat was only half-warm. The portions were also, unfortunately, quite meager. The price was completely unjustified.

Attention, this is a warning! To everyone ordering food here, we placed an order together. When the food arrived, it was not only cold, but we were also delivered bottled food. After contacting the restaurant and even providing proof of the order, they offered to complain about the order and refund our money. Suddenly, however, the conversation took a turn for the worse. After an unfriendly discussion, the restaurant simply hung up. Later, someone on WhatsApp irritated me with a voice message. We had to block the contact and we were not refunded. After being told to report them and give them a bad review, we did the same here, and the restaurant was also reported. Even though the restaurant claims we had an agreement, I haven't received a credit or anything to date. I can only recommend everyone not to order or eat here. There are much better Greek restaurants in Dresden, including those in the surrounding area.

We have actually always been very satisfied; we have visited here a few times. In the end we were a bit shocked that the buffet price had increased to almost €30. We know that everything is getting more expensive, but no normal person can eat €30. Especially since there is always the same offer at the buffet. The innkeeper was extremely unfriendly. The food was incredibly overpriced, especially because it wasn't tasty and the portions were very small. For example, a small side salad cost over €8. Absolutely not recommended. There was no ouzo either.

We reserved a table online for the evening buffet. Since we couldn't find the price per person on the homepage, we wanted to ask again by phone. We were informed that there was no more space available at the time we had booked. Although we had a written confirmation including a booking number, we were told: "It's better to order a table on the phone instead of online"

The two of us ate there with a gourmet block. Within 30 minutes we had drinks, a pre-salad, a main course and we were ready. Very nice and attentive staff, food was absolutely delicious and pleasant atmosphere. Prices for the main courses are ~20€ from the menu and 30€ from the buffet. Buffet also looked very inviting, we'll try that next time. Friday evening seems to be very relaxed, Saturday is expected to be much more crowded, so maybe be careful. I would just like an online menu so that you have a better overview.

We were there with the whole family for a birthday. Unfortunately, we didn't receive a very warm welcome. We weren't allowed to order ouzo, with the instruction that it would only be served after dinner. We couldn't order side dishes separately, only with a meal. Our children had to pay the full price for the buffet. The waiter stood next to our table the whole time, checking that those paying for the buffet didn't give anything to the others. Very unfriendly and definitely not Greek. The food was hearty and OK, but nothing special. A real shame, but not recommended.

This Greek restaurant is no longer run by Greeks. The owners looked like Indians, only the waitress was Greek and he seemed annoyed.

I made a reservation online for my son's birthday. However, we found ourselves in front of a locked door because it is closed on Wednesdays. There is no day off listed on the website and I received a reservation confirmation. The disappointment was of course great. We urgently need to work on the website and the online reservation system!

Delivery via Uber Eats: Ordered food as a test to see if it was worth visiting the place. Conclusion: rather no. Food was well packaged and arrived quite quickly. At least it was still warm. Had gyros in Metaxa sauce with fries (I'll leave out the fries review because delivered fries are always ungrateful) and gratinated feta as a starter. Unfortunately, Metaxa sauce has no note whatsoever. Watery and pretty tasteless. Baked feta also like from the supermarket. It was okay and you could eat it, but no advertising for a restaurant visit. There are at least two Greeks in the area who are significantly better. The delivery prices are also too high for the quality and portion sizes.

The food was very good, but the service was unfortunately unfriendly. We came with the voucher booklet and therefore didn't get an ouzo to say goodbye. Unfortunately, the marketing concept behind the voucher booklet was very wrong. If it hadn't been for this, we would certainly have come again.

We were assigned a table and brought the menu. When we got our drinks, we pointed out to the waiter that we had a gourmet voucher. He laughed and said that it couldn't be redeemed on a Friday or weekend. We had read the redemption conditions beforehand and everything was correct. We then wanted to show him the page of the gourmet voucher booklet but he refused. He insisted on his opinion and was quite unpleasant towards us. We then got up and left the restaurant. We will never go there again. It's an impudence if you allow yourself to be included in the gourmet voucher booklet and then don't even know the terms and conditions.

There was a large group of us and we were all there with the gourmet block (eat two meals, get one free). After this information, the waiter was more than unfriendly…. Restrictions from the buffet, not only in terms of food but also in terms of time... are not possible. The “normal” dishes were okay in terms of taste, but unfortunately not particularly worth mentioning. If you take part in such activities, you know what to expect! We still brought in a lot of sales with drinks, appetizers, etc... We were there in November last year and were also very happy with the Schlemmerblock (which we have been using for many years in Dresden and nationwide, always to our satisfaction), otherwise we wouldn't have come again. I can only agree with the negative comments here. The food got here after 1.5 hours, was absolutely cold and limp AND the driver refused to bring the food up so I had to go downstairs with a sprained foot to pick it up. After there was no tip based on the delivery person's performance, he mumbled something (probably an insult) in a language I didn't know. Absolutely disgusting behavior. Never again.

Sooooo we arrived at this restaurant at 8:10 p.m., showed our gourmet block and were immediately told what we were allowed to eat in the buffet. We didn't experience this on our first visit. We were allowed to choose everything once and not overdo it. So let's eat a salad, but not everything, and if it's warm, it's best to keep your plate half full. And for dessert either ice cream or yoghurt or cake. Unfortunately, not everything was there at this time. The side dishes such as fries and potato wedges were empty. The Cordon Bleu was empty. There were no more cucumbers, tomatoes and sauces at the salad buffet. And unfortunately the yoghurt was gone for dessert. Please ask if there is anything new to come. Unfortunately we received a very unfriendly response. So we were here for the second and last time. Table no.15 . In general, everyone would be very unfriendly today. We didn't know it the first time. Update February 14, 2025 🌟🌟 What can I say, I've always enjoyed being here over the last few years. Only this time we were put in the basement, which is rather bad with a buffet because you have to go past the toilet and up the stairs before you get to the buffet. I have to say the service, the girls are nice and attentive but the men are quite unfriendly. In terms of food, it's ok but the buffet is rather sparsely refilled. Since you're sitting in the basement, you obviously don't notice when things are being refilled upstairs! In terms of price, I'm excited to see what we'll have to pay! 30 euros per person is absolutely not recommended by us. 5 years ago there were 4 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 The staff was very accommodating. Food was good in itself, once you got the right one. Our reservation wasn't taken properly, so we had a seat in the middle of the room and ended up sitting in the way. The service was very confused and came across as very overwhelmed. We waited three quarters of an hour. The invoice was incorrect. The buffet is certainly worth it but the service is not enjoyable.

It was really nice again, nice staff and delicious food. Were warmly welcomed. Everything was clean, nothing to complain about. Come again.

Food was good, we went to the buffet, what was there tasted good, but nothing was added, everything was more and more empty and when you were at the buffet again at 8:30 p.m. you would be rudely informed that the buffet was now closed and the rest was sold to other people in Tupperware containers. You can't accuse the staff of being overly friendly. The voucher from the gourmet block was checked with skepticism, it was probably only set up for a buffet. The taste of the food was OK, but not exactly exorbitant for a Greek restaurant and the prices quoted. There was no ouzo either. The restaurant didn't do any advertising for itself with the voucher booklet!

Unfortunately no longer recommended since the change of operator. A larger group went to the buffet. Service was unfortunately subpar, although perhaps... At most 3 more tables were occupied and there were enough staff present. We didn't ask for more drinks, the dirty plates were now piling up on our table... which was also noticed, but continued to be ignored. "Olympia" is the only Greek restaurant far and wide that offers an all-you-can-eat buffet. The selection is generous, refills are quick and attention is paid to order and cleanliness. Prices have now reached a level that can no longer be estimated. It is all the more incomprehensible that blackened olives are offered instead of real ones. That doesn't fit at all with the otherwise extremely tasty, fresh food on offer. The rather worn seating furniture is also noticeable. The fact that the service is more cold than friendly hardly seems worth mentioning. The house is always full (and quite loud); you do your job, the guests come and go... Oh yes, finding a parking space nearby is not exactly easy. Just downtown. It's probably not the store's fault.

Four of us went out to eat today and wanted to redeem mobile vouchers because we were told that you can only redeem them from Monday to Thursday, even though it isn't written anywhere. I forwarded the problem to Schlemmerblock (VMG Vertriebs-Marketing-Gesellschaft). There wasn't even an ouzo with the bill, as is usual with Greeks, which is a shame. The food was tasty, but you shouldn't be very hungry here.

I was in the restaurant on Christmas Day on December 26th, even though the price of the buffet has increased due to the special buffet, I think it's quite okay for the number of buffets. Lamb, duck and calamari were the best meat dishes. Not only the main course but also the starter and the desert were great, with salad and fruit. Worth recommending

We were guests there on Christmas Day. Unfortunately, we experienced more than poor service from the waiters there. We had a mishap, a glass accidentally fell over. Despite there being fewer guests, no one from the staff came to help us. For a buffet, which was of a small standard, we paid €34.90 per person. The waiter told us the price when we collected it, it wasn't obvious at first glance. When we served ourselves at the buffet, the service staff regularly stood behind us and checked how much food we were eating. Unfortunately not recommended in our opinion, there are definitely better restaurants in Dresden.

At 8:30 p.m. you are basically encouraged to leave, from then on there is nothing more to eat if you know.

Ambiance is just a bit poor. All in all, 4/5 * is completely okay. There is still room for improvement. Maybe next time.

Many of us had already ordered delivery to our homes, as I said, there was a lot going on that day, many also had it delivered to their homes, no complaints. A young lady calls us after they have eaten the food (or not) and said on the phone that she would refund the money, so the waiter said that the order could be given out again. Well, he couldn't have said anything more. The thing is, after the whole conversation, you write such a bad review just because you didn't get your money back... I honestly find it very sad! It's also a serious thing that only those people tasted bad the food, I mean there was a lot going on that day, a few more people could have written something bad about it, but oh well. Meine Frau und ich wollten einen schönen Abend verbringen, doch wir wurden sehr enttäuscht 😞 der Kellner hat uns sehr unfreundlich behandelt, wir haben uns nicht wohl gefühlt, auch wurde der Gutschein vom Schlemmerblock nicht eingelöst, angeblich würde dieser Freitag und Samstag nicht gelten, das stimmt so nicht, es ist im Schlemmerblock nicht vermerkt, der Gutschein gilt an jedem Tag in der Woche, noch etwas ist an unfreundlichkeit nicht zu überbieten, meine Frau hat sich erdreistet eine Pfeffer und Salzmühle mit an den Tisch zu nehmen, sie wurde vom Kellner regelrecht verfolgt, als sie am Tisch ankam hat der Kellner in einer Art und Weise die Mühlen wortlos ohne Erklärung vom Tisch gerissen, sowas geht garnicht, man fühlt sich als Gast nicht wertgeschätzt, ausserdem war das Zaziki von einer schlechten Qualität so dass mir noch am Samstag davon total schlecht war. Fazit, uns als Gäste sehen die nie wieder, es gibt bessere und freundliche Griechische Restaurants in Dresden und Umgebung

We were there with the gourmet block - which was rejected on Friday evening. Unfortunately, it wasn't written anywhere. We stayed there anyway and ordered from the menu. When I got salt/pepper from the buffet to season it - it was taken away from me - it was probably decorative - the spice that was supplied was also more decorative 😅. Unfortunately, neither of us tolerated the food well... The facility could also use a backup.

Food was cold, didn't taste good, was unsalted and some of it was forgotten when it was delivered. Not recommended!

How terrible can delivery service be? Bifteki with feta doesn't deserve the name, meat almost cold, not good quality. The cheapest packaging that doesn't keep you warm is used for delivery. . There was just a hint of feta 5g or less in the meat. The meat and tomato rice had a neutral taste. Very small portion, had to eat a cheese sandwich afterwards. Farmer's salad was just as bland and tasteless. Seldom eaten so badly. And that for 30€! Has the owner changed somehow? That used to be way better. This won't happen to us again.

Avoid at all costs. Constructive criticism comes from all guests and could be heard and seen as a suggestion. Maybe there will be a second or third chance. We have enjoyed staying here again and again for decades. After the change of ownership, there is now a clear reduction in the quality of the food and service, and the buffet is no longer so generous with refills. Of course the prices only go up. It was the last visit for us.

It was our first time at Olympia and what we immediately noticed was that the furniture was outdated and very worn, especially the benches. The salad selection at the buffet wasn't really great. It was only refilled when it was empty and what is out of the question for me is that it smells like old fat and the squid rings also taste like old fat.

The third star is only given because the service is friendly... We had the food delivered and I can't say it was tasty at all. The food was cold. There was suflaki which had more fat than meat, which I didn't know at all. The gyro with metaxa sauce had more fatty pieces in it than meat. The savings on rice were more than exorbitant. The garlic bread wasn't even crispy, as if it had just been put on the grill for a short time. We also ordered extra zarziki which was forgotten but we still had to pay. (But we didn't notice it until a little later.) Conclusion: We don't recommend it. It used to be really tasty but today it was anything but tasty. At least the customers are treated very friendly

I would like to expressly praise this restaurant. Food a'la card corresponds to the price and is also very plentiful. Our friends chose the buffet, all you can eat, and were also very satisfied. I couldn't complain about anything and therefore all full points from me in the rating.

Unfortunately, you can tell that the restaurant's best years are behind it. You can still see the former glory. An upholsterer could certainly make a difference in the short term. If the ambience is missing, the food unfortunately doesn't taste as it should because the eye eats with it. This also applies to the presentation of the buffet and the staff themselves. Then you wonder what it looks like behind the scenes. 😔 The staff is very friendly. Unfortunately that's not enough. The prices are not exactly cheap, but the ambience has to be right.

schlechteste griech. Restaurant...Essen schlecht zubereitet...Service sehr schlecht, hat keine leeren Gläser gesehen....Essen hat gefehlt....und würde aber abgerechnet....nicht zu empfehlen!

(takeaway food) The portion size is very good (plenty), but unfortunately the taste didn't convince us as a Greek restaurant: it tastes too irrelevant, the typical Greek, the love in the food is missing. Olive oil, herbs, olives. It's too expensive for that. However, garlic is not spared. The starter “Saganaki” was disappointing: This is 1 breaded and fried feta, without any side dish or sauce for €8.50. - The restaurant and the beer garden are very nicely decorated but it is far too warm inside in the summer (feels like 40 degrees).

Been there for the first time and found it very good. For a Saturday there was relatively less going on at 7 p.m., but the service was super fast and friendly and you got an ouzo on the house right when you ordered. Food was very tasty and the portion was good, we had 1x bifteki and once baked chicken with metaxa sauce, absolutely recommended and really worth a visit

The food is very tasty and the buffet has a moderate selection. Gyros is the meat that underlies most dishes. Of course there is also fish, fried squid, cordon bleu and the usual dishes like potatoes and rice. Once a month we try the Greek buffet and leave us feeling pleasantly full.
