Akropolis in Dresden

I was initially excited about a Greek restaurant in the Neustadt district, and at first glance, the dishes on the menu looked good. Unfortunately, my expectations weren't met. For around 18 euros, I had a baked gyro. The cheese was a solid block and tasted cheap. The meat was indistinctly chopped and swimming in an orange sauce that didn't deserve the name Metaxa. The tzatziki tasted of nothing, and the salad consisted of 2-cm-thick pieces of cucumber, tomato, and onion. The fries were okay. I can't recommend eating here.

Gyros pita has been one of my absolute favorite dishes since my childhood and college years in Thessaloniki. When I heard that there was finally a simple Greek taverna in my neighborhood again, I went there yesterday. I wasn't expecting much, as the last Greek restaurant in the New Town was run by Indians who had no clue about Greek food. But surprise! The gyros pita was as authentic and delicious as the ones at Monastiraki in Athens or Aristotelous Square in Thessaloniki: Fresh pita, crispy meat, well-seasoned tzatziki, 6-7 fries, two tomato slices, and onion rings. A fair €6.90. For those who care: I was served by actual Greeks, and the lady in the kitchen also looked very Greek. I went there again today.

Overall, it's okay. But the seat right next to the trash can was really disgusting. 🤢

About the new shop on Louisenstrasse in Neustadt: 1) None of the staff are Greek, but from the Middle East or North Africa. 2) Extremely indifferent service, and you feel like a nuisance (also observed with other customers) rather than a paying guest, unless you're part of the friendly circle. Lots of idle bosses among the staff, but only one "working" young woman serving. 3) Food OK, but not worth repeating.

A solid 4.5 out of 5. The food was very good, not dripping with grease, the vegetables were fresh, and so was the meat. The lamb was great!

I can only say that again and again 🤍

When I was there—July 4, 2025—the store was closed, and there was no indication as to why. Vacation, closed forever?! 🤷‍♂️

Very good restaurant in the Altmarkgalerie with various pita variations. Highly recommended. Friendly owner and very attentive waiters. A culinary delight, everything is freshly prepared with love. Prices are perfectly reasonable considering what a doner kebab around the corner costs these days. For just over €5, for example, you're very well served with a pita gyro. I can recommend everyone to visit the Akropolis restaurant in the Altmarkgalerie once or more. Enjoy your meal ☺️

Absolutely fine. We were there for lunch. The service was friendly. The price/performance ratio was still reasonable. It was definitely tasty. It's sufficient for lunch or a quick snack.

There was once this hit: Acropolis Adieu...there's nothing to add to that! The food was very expensive and not particularly good. The selection is less suitable for a Greek restaurant. Gyros and meat dead and darkly fried/cooked. Tzatziki without oomph, Metaxa sauce tasteless! Fries were so mediocre. Ambiance just shopping arcade. At least I was able to wash my hands when asked. That was my only personal highlight of this place. If you like Greek food...you better look for something else!

I had dinner here with my wife and I have to say that it was really tasty. Price-performance is great. We found the service very, very nice. All we can say is: try it out.

Gastronomy in the department store - very nice and reasonably priced

We didn't know that such a location existed, probably because we are relatively rare on the upper floor and don't go to the shops upstairs. My wife suddenly got an appetite so we ordered a small gyro plate for her. Waited 25 minutes until the dish was on the table. There was nothing going on, one table was occupied by one person. It didn't taste anything. Gyros cut into thin strips, like paper and also crispy like chips, that's what you'll find in the usual kebab stalls. These gyros strips were also seasoned with caraway seeds, which doesn't belong in gyros. Overall, for a Greek, we are still considering whether this is really run by Greeks, not worthy. Cucumber slices, it should probably be a salad, cut about 1cm thick and 4 slices of it, who should eat that? Zatziki was very weak in taste, we had the impression that nothing was homemade here. It was also made with dried herbs and sprinkled with them. The fries were good. For a small plate of fries around €17, of which my wife only ate 20%. Service with 2 tables was obviously overwhelmed, but nice and friendly. When we complained, we got a free Uzo, which doesn't make the food any better. Once and never again. Not a poster child for Greek food.

Small, delicious food, friendly staff. ..always happy and perfectly located in the Altmarkt-Galerie...ONCE UPON A TIME, Today we had to experience a rude waiter, he does his "work" listlessly, repeat orders are simply ignored, signs that he wants to pay are also ignored, instead he stares at the women walking past. When you go to the counter to pay, you are insulted. The food was also significantly better. NEVER, NEVER AGAIN!!! The one star is a huge exaggeration, actually there should be -1 star...

Very friendly service. Food well prepared, generous portions, very tasty. Right in the shopping arcade, so a bit restless and loud.

Gyros here is quite ok. Crispy enough, the seasoning is good even if it's not the best and the pita is filled well enough overall. Unfortunately, the two times I was there, the fries in the Gyros Pita were a bit poor (not really hot and not crispy) and the tzatziki could also be a bit fresher. Price was okay, although given the portion size I would say it should at least be a little cheaper. But service was friendly and quick and the ambience is ok for a shopping center establishment.

The taste of the food was not convincing and it came to the table lukewarm. The portions were quite small for the price.The quality of the ingredients was not particularly high.

Food average and expensive. Large pieces of meat, very fatty casserole. On the sidelines of the gallery, few people and silence. That's a plus. There were 8 people in total and no one seemed to like it.

It's in the Altmarkt Galerie in Dresden and it tastes very good, you can eat Greek and then go shopping again.☺️

Nice bistro-taverna Very tasty, authentic food, typically Greek. The selection is large enough, everything tastes fresh and is very well seasoned. The portions are sufficient and the prices for the dishes are fair. The only thing that could be added to the dishes is more tzatziki. What I didn't like at all was the juice. This is made from concentrates and is therefore simply too expensive. Otherwise everything was clean and the staff was very nice. We were served by three different people. We would definitely eat here again :)

You can eat well here. Fast attentive service. Normal prices for Dresden city center. You can watch people pass by the shopping center.

Unfortunately the dishes had an Arabic touch but the Greek waitress tore it out 👍🏻

Wenn wir in Dresden zu Besuch sind, gehen wir gern ins Akropolis. Netter Service und das Essen schmeckt.

Es war sehr lecker und wir sind alle von den Tellerportionen satt geworden. Das sättigungsgefühl hat auch sehr lange angehalten. Wir hatten Tzaziki als Vorspeise und Gyrosteller + Gyrosteller Hähnchen mit Pommes. Super lecker 😋 jamiiiiiiiiiiii... Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ich habe leider noch nie so schlechte metaxasosse gegessen und ich war schon bei unzähligen Griechen essen. Noch dazu war mein Essen lau warm. Es waren nur noch 2 andere Tische besetzt. Also nix los. Qualität 0 Punkte. Sorry

Not really the Greek food one would expect. There is scope for a lot of improvement. The food is not bad but it can be a lot better. The portions are good for the price. Vegetarian options are not many . The service and people were good. Good luck.

kleines Restaurant in der Einkaufspassage. Hatten Lammkeule mit Nudeln. Nudeln und Lamm waren kalt. Nach unserer Beschwerde wurde neu angerichtet. War heiß, aber das Lammfleisch ließ sich nur schwer vom Knochen trennen. Es gab zwar einen Ouzo als Entschuldigung, welchen wir auch nicht annahmen . Alles in Allem war der Besuch für uns eine riesige Enttäuschung. Wir sind bei Besuchen in Griechenland und griechischen Restaurants in Deutschland besseres gewohnt.

Sehr sehr leckeres Essen und die Besitzer sind sehr herzliche Menschen. Wer das perfekte griechische Essen sucht wird hier fündig. Leider im 1 OG was mir für den Besitzer und dem Personal sehr leid tut da es dort fantastisch schmeckt!!!

Gyros - fleisch trocken zu wenig Tzatziki Geschmacklich schon bessere Tzatziki gegessen. Pommes haben aufgewärmt geschmeckt. Habe hier schon deutlich besser mal Geschmeckt.

An sich eine Coole Sache das man Griechisch in der Altmarkt Galerie essen gehen kann, aber dieser wiederum schmeckt halt einfach Null. Das Fleisch labbrig die Soße dünn.

Essen war super. Preis/Leistung stimmt. Das Gyros war echt sehr lecker. Würde immer wieder dort essen.

Nichtmal die Kaffeemaschine ging aber die Service Kraft hat die Bestellung trotzdem aufgenommen und wir warteten vergeblich und sie machte Stühle Rücken in der Zeit bis der Koch kam und fragte ob wir bestellt hätten da meinten wir ja 3 Latte Macchiato da sagte er die Kaffeemaschine geht nicht und wir fragten wieso die Bestellung dann aufgenommen wurde, er konnte es uns nicht erklären.

Sorry aber ich kann diesem Restaurant absolut nichts abgewinnen. Jahrelang daran vorbei gelaufen, haben wir uns heute mal gedacht, wir probieren es mal aus. Den Preisen nach war die Erwartung entsprechend hoch. Was dann hoch war, war die Enttäuschung. Klebriger Tisch, schmutziger Babyhochstuhl, Pommes ohne Geschmack, Deko auf dem Teller kann man sich sparen, Haar im Gyros und es wurde auch ein Essen nicht so gebracht wie bestellt. Und ganz ehrlich, die Metaxa Soße hat mit ner typischen Metaxa Soße nichts zu tun. Es hat einfach nur nach Sahne geschmeckt, weder nach gegrillter Paprika oder Champignons. Handwerklich mittlere Imbissbude und dafür einfach zu teuer. Nachtrag zur Reaktion des Restaurants Es ist völlig daneben über eine ehrliche Kritik beleidigend zu werden. Anstatt auf die Punkte einzugehen, argumentiert man völlig falsch! In einem normalen Umfeld eines Restaurants würden Sie mit Ihrer Einstellung und der Qualität des Essens nicht lange überstehen. Griechische Gastfreundlichkeit kenne ich anders. Einfach mal bei den Kollegen essen gehen dann wissen Sie was ich meine. Und das Haar war war real, genau wie die fast 50 Euro die ich bei Euch für unser Essen und Getränke bezahlt habe. Es ist absolut falsch zu behaupten wir haben nichts bezahlen müssen. Es war der volle Preis. Außerdem waren wir an dem Tag nicht die einzigen die unzufrieden waren.

Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett und das Essen schmeckt super 👍 man fühlt sich hier wie sein eigenes wohnung. Ich komme gerne immer vorbei 😍

Für ein Restaurant in einem Einkaufscenter sind die Preise völlig überzogen, teurer als in einem klassischen Restaurant. Das Essen schmeckt, ist aber nicht überragend.

Wenn es mal schnell gehen soll, blöderweise man keinen Tisch in den wirklich guten Restaurants der Stadt vorbestellt hat, kann man hier noch kurzfristig seinen Hunger stillen. Gute Portionen, kulinarisch natürlich kein Highlight, satt waren wir trotzdem.

Wir waren letzte Woche zum Einkaufsbummel in der Altmarktgalerie. Und da so eine Einkaufstour auch hungrig macht, sind wir in dieser kleinen, feinen Location gelandet. Das Essen, wir hatten Gyros, war sehr lecker und die Portionen haben richtig satt gemacht. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Da kommt man gern wieder!

Etwas versteckt in einem Nebengang der Altstadtgalerie aber dadurch abseits vom Trubel und schön ruhig. Das Essen war lecker wir hatten den Platon Teller und ein kleines Gyros. Bedienung war sehr schnell und freundlich

Langjähriger Grieche in der Altmarktgalerie. Für Snacks "to go" (Gyros Pita, Gyrosteller) sehr zu empfehlen...beim verweilen und Essen im "Restaurant" eher weniger zu empfehlen (kleine Portionen und eher lieblos). Da gibt es weit bessere griechische Lokale in Dresden. Trotzdem 4 von 5 Punkten weil die Snacks wirklich gut sind.
