We had a family gathering at the Ochsen on Halloween Friday 2025. The ambiance, food, wine, and service were simply fantastic—it couldn't have been more perfect! Our two dogs were also warmly welcomed. We felt very comfortable and were absolutely thrilled! We highly recommend the Ochsen! We've already earmarked the Ochsen at Bihlplatz for our next visit to Stuttgart.

We had a small salad to take away (10 minutes away), which was very good 👍 One carbonara, which was mediocre, underseasoned, and slightly sour in taste. And a corn-fed chicken with mustard and black rice. The chicken was a bit dry, but the rest was delicious.

We booked through TheFork with a discount and because they have all regular clients that pay full price today they cancelled our reservation twice, they don't even bother telling us on the phone to come but paying full price... Wir waren schon mehrmals dort und wurden noch nie enttäuscht! Nach einer herzlichen Begrüßung gab es ein leckeres Brot mit selber gemachtem Hummus als Gruß aus der Küche, wobei man aufpassen muss, dass man nicht zu viel davon ist (es schmeckt einfach mega lecker) sonst schafft man das Hauptgericht nicht mehr... Es gibt sowohl klassische als auch von der Vorspeise bis zum Nachtisch ausgefallene, saisonale Gericht, die wir in der Kombination noch in keinem anderen Restaurant gesehen haben. "Hirsch trifft Gin", "Carbonara trifft Kalbsfilet", Schweinebäckchen treffen Yorkshire Pudding", "vegan Jakobsmuschel trifft Soba" usw. Das Essen ist wirklich excellent und von TOP Qualität, gekocht wird mit regionalen Produkten. Somit stimmt auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis absolut! Hier wird mit Leidenschaft gekocht und das merkt man. Die Weinempfehlung war sehr passend. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und sehr nett. Das Ambiente in einem Traditionslokal mit modernem Flair ist ist wirklich schön. Wir hatten einen sehr gelungenen Abend und freuen uns schon aufs nächste Mal!

The last time we were there, everything was great. Today the complete contrast program. Everything took forever until we could order, until the starter came and then another hour until the main course came. Then they said the food would come straight away and still it took another 20 minutes until the main courses came. Then there was no comment about the long waiting times. The food itself was ok, apart from the fact that the meat wasn't cooked properly and the spinach only tasted like garlic. So it's a shame because we had a very positive experience on our last visit and this time we were very disappointed with the service and the waiting times.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio didn't quite meet my expectations. The salad was very tasty, the scallops were okay, but the venison ragout was below average. I would also have liked to order something to drink at the end of the meal, but unfortunately I didn't pay any attention to it. When the entire table had nothing left to drink, we wanted to pay, but that also took an unusually long time.

We were in Stuttgart for three days for an event and were therefore looking for a place to have dinner. We ended up in this restaurant quite spontaneously, but we were really impressed. The ambience and the food are rather upscale. But the service staff is still absolutely open-minded and friendly, even with guests who are rather inexperienced in this area, as in our case. You immediately feel welcome and get the feeling that every guest is really being looked after warmly and honestly. Although the map is relatively small at first glance, it still offers a good selection through modification options. All three of us decided on the porcini mushroom risotto. My companions also had saddle of venison and I had zander fillet. But a completely vegetarian selection would also have been possible. At the table next to us we also noticed that it wouldn't be a problem to take any further requests regarding vegan or intolerances into account, as everything is really freshly prepared. The risotto was a dream, the fish was also absolutely delicious and the saddle of venison was absolutely tender. Really three very, very good meals. Afterwards we each decided on dessert. There was apple strudel, the filled chocolate cake and a speculoos tiramisu. The desserts were also consistently delicious and we were very impressed. We also received very good advice and support from the service staff when it came to choosing the wine. We can really recommend this restaurant. Thank you very much for this really nice evening and the delicious food.

My absolute favorite restaurant in town... I've been going there for years and am only now rating it. Top cuisine (always everything fresh), great landlady and team, there is never anything too much.. wonderful service. Great location, it couldn’t be more comfortable. There are also always charming gift ideas in the brasserie. Unreserved recommendation!

One of my favorite restaurants! Food is always freshly prepared and very tasty. The combination of the dishes is brilliant. The service is always friendly and you feel welcome.

The ox is something completely different. Service is great, the preparation is fresh and takes a while, but it's worth it. We had 2 starters and drinks and were full. We found the prices to be completely reasonable for the enjoyment. The outside of the restaurant has a great ambience and the table and arrangement show style. I sat outside. There was an extremely pleasant atmosphere at Bihlplatz with old houses and cobblestones. I had a crab and gooseberry appetizer that was delicious and looked like a dessert. The other dishes I saw and tasted were surprising, colorful and unusual.

The oasis on Bihlplatz 😍 What Christina and her team have conjured up on the table is really great 😋 Always new creations and always guaranteed to be delicious… And sitting outside on the square in summer is really an insider tip for Stuttgart 👌 Best food, good service and at a fair price… what more could you want 👍!

Reinfall in Perfektion: Das Wiener Schnitzel war trocken und offensichtlich aus der Fritteuse, der schwäbische Kartoffelsalat handwerklich und geschmacklich sehr schlecht. Auf Grund unserer Reklamation wurde uns der Preis erlassen. Das war O.K. Viel lieber hätte ich aber bezahlt und einen schönen Abend verbracht. P.S. Der empfohlene Wein war auch nicht verfügbar.

Great concept, good quality and friendly service - that's how to eat well

We had dinner there in a larger group on a Friday evening. The dishes were excellent. I can therefore recommend the restaurant.

Ochsen seems like a more higher end restaurant. Unfortunately the menu online is not the actual menu they offer. The have around 2-3 vegan options, which seemed pretty nice on the menu. As the vegan / vegetarian mains are around 15-17€ on the menu, I decided to get a starter - beluga lentil salad and “scallops” (oyster mushroom) for the same price, expecting it to be maybe not big, but somehow around a same priced main dish. Wrong. It was tiny, tiny. Some bites (depending on the size ;-)). I’d have expected from the waiter to introduce me to that fact (as I ordered the starter as a “main”). We also ordered pasta for a child, they came spicy, without note on menu or advice from staff. Everything took pretty long in general, ok, we were a group of people, but nevertheless. An info about that should be mandatory. What I disliked the most - and therefore I only give 2 stars - I wrote a friendly email about my criticism and got no answer. Unprofessional and disappointing.

Absolute recommendation! A positively exceptional card and outstanding quality make the Ochsen a “must try”! The ambience inside is very nice, and there is also seating outside in the summer.

After the food came after 2 hours for a group of 8 people, there was nothing to complain about, but if you were hungry the waiting time was very long.

The food was good, the service was very nice. Unfortunately, in my opinion, that doesn't justify the extremely high prices. The portions are rather small, the main course is in my opinion more of a starter in size. But without meat you pay almost 20 euros (with meat or fish the additional charge is over 10 euros). The starters are also too expensive. 8 euros for four slices of bread plus some spread. The restaurant is also not recommended for small children/babies. Before we sat down, I asked if we could eat there with our baby. This was answered in the affirmative, but we were not offered a high chair. I don't think there were any either. We probably came into the restaurant with false expectations.

Some portions were very small, you need a starter and a dessert if you're hungry, which is OK but makes the whole thing much more expensive. Unfortunately, my rabbit was also very dry despite being coated in bacon.

A really nice and modern interpretation of the economy in the village. The menu was small with good, high quality food. The service was personal. The price-performance ratio was very good.

Angefangen beim Service: Wir sind angekommen, uns wurden die Jacken abgenommen und da wenig los war durften wir uns unseren Platz selber aussuchen. Die Begrüßung war herzlich. Da wir beide sehr starken Hunger hatten, habe ich direkt nach einer Kleinigkeit vorab gefragt. Diese wurde mir auch innerhalb einer Minute gebracht, das war meine Rettung. Als wir danach die Speisekarte studierten und manche Gerichte nicht kannten, kam direkt der sehr aufmerksame Kellner und fragte ob er uns helfen komnte. Wirklich sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Auch während des Essens kam er und fragte ob alles in Ordnung sei und die zwischendurch dazu bestellten Getränke kamen direkt ohne lange Wartezeit. Auch dies ist mir sehr positiv aufgefallen. Als wir zur Nachspeise einen Cortado bestellten ist dem Mitarbeiter ein Fehler bei der Herstellung des Cortados unterlaufen. Dieser wurde jedoch ohne zu fragen ausgetauscht und der (wie ich vermute) Küchenchef brachte mit einer Entschuldigung 2 neue, sehr gute Cortados. Abschließend muss ich wirklich sagen; der Service war eine 10 von 10. Nun zum Essen; Als Vorspeise gab es für beide eine vorzügliche Karottencremesuppe, für mich mit einer excellenten Riesengarnele dazu. Dazu haben wir uns noch Roastbeef trifft Harissa geteilt. Und auch das war zu gut. Man hat gemerkt, dass wirklich nur die besten Zutaten verwendet werden. Die Hauptspeise; Ich habe handgemachte Gnocchis mit einer herausragenden Soße, wildem Brokkoli und dem besten Kalbsfilet meines Lebens gegessen. Meine Frau hatte „Sandkarotten“ — Karotten mit Schwarzkohl auf einem Polenta auf irgendeiner grünen Soße? auch mit Kalbsfilet. Naja wie auch immer, es war herausragend. Und dann der Nachtisch— Pistazien trifft Creamcheese und Himbeere trifft Schokolade. Probiert selber und ihr werdet es wissen. Nachtisch muss nicht süß sein um excellent zu sein. Nun, im Endeffekt werde ich noch öfters dort zu Gast sein und freue mich schon auf den nächsten Besuch. Ich danke dem Team für einen sehr schönen Abend und einem der besten Essen meines Lebens. Ich freu mich schon auf das nächste Mal.

This little gem of a restaurant is located in the south of Stuttgart, in the Heslach district. Here, classic German/Swabian dishes are combined with innovative, modern and international cuisine. The selection on the menu is small, which is mainly due to the fact that the dishes are based on the regional and seasonal food available. However, there is always a sufficiently large selection available for vegetarians and vegans. Excellent wines from Germany and Europe complete the picture. When it comes to dessert, you should pay attention to what “Mom” offers.

Cute bar with very good food and good advice… the breakfast was fresh and prepared with love - simply very tasty! The bar stools on the window front show the bustling market activity on Bihlplatz while you relax and enjoy your delicacies. If anyone has any questions regarding the choice of drinks, a very technical explanation is provided here (short or extensive). Great team, gladly again!

Nice little restaurant in Stuttgart Changing menu with regional and seasonal products. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing because it felt like it came to the table without any spices. Unfortunately, the regional idea has been completely lost in the "small wine list" - there are no local wines. Which is a bit strange in the middle of a wine region.

Wir waren zu 6. zum Brunch hier. Super leckere Auswahl an Frühstücksgerichten zu sehr fairen Preisen.

Nettes Lokal mit sehr guter Karte für Essen und Wein. Heinische Produkte in Kombination mit internationalen andeeen Produkten wie Meeresfrüchte und Fleisch. Gut auch für Vegetarier. Toller engagierter Service mit modernem Ambiente. Mal wieder eine gute Adresse für ein schönes Abendessen mit vernünftige Preise.

Kamen um 17 Uhr an. Restaurant war offen, wollten nur einen Drink nehmen, auf Aussage vom Kellner würde aber erst ab 17:30 bedient und es wäre noch geschlossen mit Pause. An einem anderen Tisch saßen allerdings 6 Leute die bedient wurden. Ja das wäre was anderes, die sind ja vom Haus. Guter Service geht anders mein lieber Ochsen, ich war das letzte mal dort!

Wir sind mit der Firma und privat seit 6 Jahren, also von Beginn an, Stammgast. Für uns mit die beste Gastronomie in Stuttgart. Immer alles frisch! Alle (Wirtin und Team) sind super engagiert.. manchmal darf man etwas Zeit mitbringen, und: es lohnt sich IMMER! 100% Empfehlung.. wer einmal da war, will und wird immer wieder kommen!

Super lecker Essen. Tolles Personal und Location . Ständig wechselnde Speisen, gehen gerne auf Wünsche von Kunden ein. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen und es sehr weiterempfehlen.

Ich kann den Ochsen zu 1000% empfehlen! Wir hatten mit einer kleinen Gruppe dort unsere standesamtliche Trauung gefeiert. Die Vorabplanung lief schon super unkompliziert und das wurde vor Ort nochmal bestätigt. Der Service war großartig und das Essen war erste Klasse! Es wurden alle Wünsche (vegan etc.) problemlos und super lecker umgesetzt. Schade, dass unsere Anfahrt aus Freiburg zu lange dauert, sonst würde es auf jeden Fall unser Stammlokal werden! Hochzeitsessen: Es war ein ein super ausgearbeitetes Menü. Den Gästen hat alles sehr gut geschmeckt. Nachdem Sie den Mittel alten Rioja Wein nicht zur Verfügung hatten. Haben Sie mir den älteren Rijo zum gleichen Preis angeboten. Super Service & Essen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir waren mit Freunden dort und sind um ehrlich zu sein ,eher durch Zufall darauf gestoßen. Auf der Terrasse mitten auf dem Bihlplatz zu sitzen, ist "wie Urlaub in Frankreich". Wir hatten als Vorspeise einen Flammkuchen und die Mergez mit Kräuterseitlingen und ich hätte mir mehr davon gewünscht ;)) sehr lecker und leicht. Mein Entrecote mit Spargel war auch perfekt. Mein Mann hatte den Chili-Cheese-Burger mit Pommes, super lecker. Der sehr freundliche Service hat und zum Essen eine wundervolle Weinempfehung gegeben.

Arrivés sans réservation, le serveur nous propose une table en terrasse (il faisait beau et bon). Lors de la commande, on s'emmêle les pinceaux entre l'allemand, l'anglais, l'espagnol et l'italien... n'est pas polyglotte qui veut!!! Ce qui entraîne des rires et un échange sympathique avec notre serveur du soir. Les plats sont succulents, le vin magnifique. A recommander les yeux fermés.

leicht gehobene und moderne Küche. Karte beschränkt sich auf eine Auswahl an Vor- Haupt- und Nachspeisen, die frisch gekocht werden. Die Spargelsuppe mit Erdbeeren zur Vorspeise war lecker, das Hauptgericht mit Entrecote ebenfalls richtig lecker, die Nudeln gut abgestimmt mit Gorgonzola ein Traum. Spargel, bzw. Gemüse leider nur etwas wenig auf dem Teller. Auch waren die Portionsgrößen teils sehr unterschiedlich bei den Sitznachbarn. Das betraf selbst den Aperitif, mal halb volles Glas, dann wieder volles Glas. Hier sollte man mehr drauf achten. Beim Nachtisch die Käseauswahl sehr lecker und gut abgestimmt. Personal war schnell und aufmerksam, allerdings zeitweise auch stark ausgelastet - wenn einiges los ist selbst bei den wenigen Tischen Wartezeiten mit einplanen - bei mir wurde auch ein Getränk zwischenzeitlich vergessen. Die Getränkekarte ist gut, die Cocktails lecker, allerdings recht viel Alkohol drin. Kann man positiv wie negativ sehen. Preislich eher gehoben, Qualität gut. Ambiente modern. Lage direkt an Haltestelle Bihlplatz sehr gut.

Kreative und qualitativ hochwertige Küche. Dazu sehr engagierter Service. Tolle Weinkarte. Preislich tendenziell gehobener - ist aber auch mehr als gerechtfertigt!

Getränke und Essen ist alles sehr gut. Sehr nette Bedienung.

Rosenkohl trifft Tofu Dumpling, Linsen mit Garnelen und Kräutersaitling, Spitzkrautwickel auf Kartoffelstampf mit Roter Beete oder Backhendl mit Kartoffelsalat - das hat großen Spaß gemacht. Alles mit Liebe und Kreativität gemacht, fein gewürzt und mit Freude serviert - gerne wieder!

Tolles Frühstück im Restaurant, schöne Einrichtung, sympathischer und zuvorkommender Service-rundum zufrieden!

I liked the place with its calm athmosphere. Friendly staff. Beverage and food arrived in longer sequences between the different meals. Good tasting food and quality in a good price level. Think of the boxes for your jacket below the bench. In my opinion the kitchen is on its way to more high class, not there yet. I loved the espresso martini cocktail. Taste it. It is worth to be there for food and cocktails.

Kann nur über ein veganes currygericht urteilen: die zutaten erlesen und die abschmeckung phantastisch. Preissegment: gehoben, ist es unbedingt wert. Athmosphäre und bedienung auch besonders zu loben.

Sehr leckeres und gemütlich eingerichtetes Restaurant, welches für Vegetarier immer ein spezielles Tagesgericht anbietet. Besonders zu empfehlen sind der Burger und die Flammkuchen!

Der Kuchen, ein absoluter Traum! Und der Mittagstisch ist ebenfalls sooo lecker - ganz tolle vegetarische Auswahl! Ich freue mich aufs nächste Mal 😋

Unser Favorit! Tolle Speisen und kreative Ideen. Wir lieben den ochsen und die kleine brasserie. In der brasserie kann man auch tolle kleine Geschenke kaufen was uns schon oft bei kurzfristig erfolgten Einladungen bei Freunden gerettet hat. Wir wurden immer nach einem Gastgeschenk fündig.

Wir hatten ein sehr schönen Weihnachtsabend im Ochsen mit einem sehr leckeren Menü. Die passende Weinreise hat wunderbar unterstützt. Auch so haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt und der Service war sehr aufmerksam.

Pandemiebedingt waren wir im Frühjahr auf der Suche nach einem guten Restaurant, dass auch Essen liefert. Wir sind dann auf den Ochsen gestoßen und haben über das Jahr hinweg immer wieder Essen bestellt, unter anderem auch ein Weihnachtsmenü. Wir waren immer sehr begeistert, sowohl von der Qualität der Produkte, dem Geschmack der Speisen und auch der Anrichteweise. Und das trotz Lieferboxen. Wir freuen uns schon auf die nächste Bestellung.

Отличный ресторан, невероятно вкусные блюда из оленины. Гарнир был необычным и тоже очень, очень вкусным. Если вы знаете толк в еде и любите вкусно поесть, однозначно рекомендую. Но внимание: еда такого качества не может стоить дёшево, а приготовление её занимает время, соответственно, подача не быстрая.

Nous y sommes allés pour un déjeuner. L'accueil à été chaleureux. Les prix sont en peu élevés mais la qualité tout à fait correspond. Très bonnes les viandes comme les accompagnements. Je recommande !

Ist zur zweiten Ess- Heimat geworden. Seht gutes Essen und immer wieder neue Ideen. Dazu tolle Weine und ein schönes Ambiente. Top!

Service nett, aber könnte schneller sein.

Wir waren an einem Mittwochabend da, hatten den Gastraum für uns. Angenehm aufgefallen ist die Musikauswahl und die wirklich nette Bedienung. Auch das Prinzip "kleine Karte" finden wir prinzipiell gerade im höherpreisigen Bereich absolut sinnvoll. Das Essen war gut überlegt, gekonnt komponiert und kam zügig. Die Menge war genau richtig. Sternchen für die Weinauswahl. Ein wirklich schönes Restaurant und die Preise waren bei der gebotenen Qualität absolut in Ordnung.
