Our conference guests at the University of Tübingen were fascinated by the food and ambience in the Mauganschtle restaurant. And the service was great: beyond friendly, warm and very attentive.

We had a great evening there with great food and the best service. Absolutely recommended. Gladly again.

Wonderful dinner, service was exceptional.

Great food. I had the seasonal beef carpaccio as starter and the Maultaschen with green pepper as main. Excellent. You can order sparkling water in a carafe instead of a bottle. The water tastes great, it's environmentally friendly and cheaper than the bottle. I didn't like the seasonal aperitif I had, but that was the only aspect of dinner which was not excellent. I recommend to reserve a table for dinner

The restaurant “Mauganeschtle” (Swabian: hiding place for delicacies) in Tübingen lives up to its name. There is delicious food here, namely gastronomy at a high level (only the wine list should offer more choice). The service lives up to this requirement, the ambience is harmonious: my recommendation. You should park in one of the parking garages outside the pedestrian zone; the König parking garage or the Neckar parking garage are just a few minutes' walk away.

We celebrated our wedding in the restaurant and couldn't be happier. From planning to organization, everything went smoothly. The team was extremely professional, friendly and supported us every step of the way, so we felt like we were in the best hands right from the start. On the day itself, the service was excellent - attentive, friendly and always available without being intrusive. The food was fantastic and exceeded all of our expectations, both in quality and presentation. Our guests were also thrilled! The location was simply fantastic. The team's flexibility allowed us to organize the evening exactly as we wanted. We couldn't imagine a more beautiful place for this special day and are incredibly grateful for the amazing support we received. Thank you for this unforgettable evening!

Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und die Bedienung sehr nett. Das Essen ist gut, aber für dieses Preisniveau erwarte ich mehr. Der besondere Pfiff fehlt. Leider gibt es in der Küche einen großen Fan von Balsamico Creme.. Frank Rosin würde sich im Grab umdrehen wenn er schon tot wäre. An den Tischen um uns herum gab es sehr viele Reklamationen zu falschen Bestellungen. Bei uns war es in Ordnung. Eher 3,5 Sterne als 4, aber das geht ja nicht

The schnitzel was good, the breading was slightly softened in the oil. The baked Maultaschen were very tasty.

Rarely have we had such a bad meal and the prices are absolutely exorbitant. Spelled pasta with asparagus. The pasta tasted like cardboard - memories of whole wheat pasta in the 1980s were brought back. Asparagus partly raw. And the sauce at least tasteless...

Very nice location. Especially in summer outside on the terrace. The service was good and the food was okay. I would have expected much more based on the recommendations and the prices. The consistency of my dumplings with chanterelles were warmed up, kept warm or simply didn't have the right mixing ratio. The sauce wasn't amazing either. The other dishes weren't bad either, some were too salty and overall not overwhelming.

Great service and nice atmosphere. Particularly noteworthy is the great/unusual selection of vegetarian/vegan dishes. There are not just the usual standard dishes. Everything was very tasty. Please keep it up!

Quaint restaurant below Tübingen Castle. We had an outdoor space with a view. The reception and service was very friendly, quick and competent. The food itself was very tasty, largely traditional Swabian cuisine. We decided on the pork fillet with spaetzle and a real Viennese schnitzel, also with butter spaetzle. Both were super tender and tasty. We were very satisfied and will definitely come back.

Minimalist Swabian cuisine, slow service (not recommended for larger groups), price/performance absolutely not right. Food tastes OK. Some of the seating is too tight.

Aus dem Schwäbischen übersetzt heißt es in etwa "dort, wo heimlich angesammelter Vorrat an Obst, Nüssen un dergleichen aufbewahrt wird, etwa im Heu, Stroh aber auch im und unterm Bett und in anderen geheimen Lagerstätten." - in welchen Kontext das nun zum Restaurant steht, haben wir leider nicht in Erfahrung bringen können, sehr wohl aber können wir bestätigen, dass es sich um ein gemütliches Restaurant mit exzellenter schwäbischer Küche handelt, wo man gemütlich die Abendstunden verbringen kann. Auf alle Fälle vorher reservieren, denn es ist immer gut ausgebucht (insbesondere an den Wochenenden)

Mainly traditional dishes but also other, relatively many vegetarian dishes. Nice balcony at the back, service was always there when you needed it. I liked it very much. Gladly again.

Very tasty eaten at #mauganeschtle. The beef steak on a hot salt stone is something special. Of course, the real Swabian Maultaschen and lentil dishes should not be missed. Very nice staff from the boss to the service. We'll be back.

All in all, a lovely evening. A star deduction for the ambience because the tables on the upper terrace are too close together. One less table would be perfect. We'll be back.

Food, ambience and service very good!

Everything worked out so far. We had the chanterelle cream soup and the Maultaschen with potato salad (dish was very good and sufficient). On the other hand, I ordered the "colorful summer salad with fresh chanterelles and balsamic dressing (vegetarian) as a main course at a price of 18.50 euros. One star deduction for this meal because unfortunately I wasn't full of the leaf salad, which was very good. The potato salad was mine My companion then "saved" me. I also told the waitress - unfortunately only a verbal reaction. We'll still come back because the atmosphere is very nice.

We made a reservation for 4 people inside on a Friday evening and due to the great weather we easily got a table on the beautiful outdoor terrace. Restaurant with fine Swabian cuisine. Very nice, cozy garden terrace with a view over the old town of Tübingen. Good traditional Swabian food. You'll get your fill here. The starters are also delicious. When the two of us started with starters, we were able to share a main course. The service is attentive, quick and very friendly. The prices are reasonable. All in all we felt very comfortable here.

The access is a bit adventurous. It's better to park downstairs and enjoy the short climb to the summit through the beautiful alleys. You will receive a very friendly welcome here. The ambience is great, the terrace offers a fantastic view. The service was perfect and the food was a dream. What more do you want.

I reserved a table for 9 people in advance. Worked perfectly (with appointment reminder). When the weather was nice, we even got a place on the terrace above the roofs of TÜ. Professional service and very good Swabian cuisine! Bstelladze, Drengaddze, Essadze, Riläggzadze . My guests and I were very, very satisfied. Gladly again!

Reservations work well by phone. Menu offers something for everyone, including vegan dishes. Quality very good, prices reasonable.

A really great restaurant. Inside it is small and very comfortably furnished. The outdoor area is on two levels. Large trees protect you from the sun. The staff is super friendly and very fond of children. Our son (4) was still at home talking about the service. The food was divine. The Maultaschen come in a variety of variations and are super tasty. For dessert we had ice cream from the Black Forest. A dream. We can only recommend the Mauganeschtle. Everything was fine. If you want to show friends Swabian cuisine and hospitality in the best quality and in one of the most beautiful spots in the country, you're doing everything right here. When the weather is nice, be sure to reserve a spot on the garden terrace...

Excellent swabian food, the selection of Maultaschen (swabian version of Ravioli, Dim Sum or Momos) is outstanding. You can have the regular version, the vegetarian or the vegan version with different combinations of sides and sauces. Divine! The terrace overlooks the old town and has thus a pleasant view. Service is very friendly and competent

It's wonderful to sit on the terrace with a view of Tübingen framed by beautiful trees. The food tasted great and everyone is very friendly.

We had reserved a table for 4 people in advance. We sat outside with a great view of the city. The Maultaschen were very tasty; upon request, the meat filling was replaced with vegetables. We didn't have much time, but everything was relaxed and we felt very comfortable.

Very nice view, great service. The menu is quite manageable, unfortunately there are few options for vegan dishes. But the salad was okay. The Maultaschen and meat dish looked very good.

It was a nice evening. The food was good, but there was still room for improvement in terms of taste. The service, a young man, was top class: very friendly, we haven't experienced that in a long time. We had to wait a relatively long time for food and drinks, but it was also quite full and there might have been a few staff there, as far as we could see.

We were very satisfied. The service worked excellently. There were 17 of us and that's saying something. The food was wonderful and everyone got it at the same time. We had the room to ourselves and it is beautiful with the moss pictures and lots of wood. Thank you very much. We will be back!

We had reserved as a group (17 people) and unfortunately we had to take quite a long time to order, as well as the drinks and much more. wait for the food. The dishes were mostly good, but not outstanding, and did not always correspond to the high prices. Finally, it was annoying that we had to wait 45 minutes until the individual invoices were created and we could finally pay. To ours - really polite! - Feedback on this matter was unfortunately not followed by a word of apology from the staff. A pity!

A Michelin gem in the heart of scenic Tubingen!

Als wir einen Tisch reservierten, war nur noch 18 oder 20 Uhr frei. Wir wählten 20 Uhr. Als wir uns um 20.05 Uhr im gediegenen Lokal am gepflegt weiss gedeckten Tisch setzten, war das Personal noch sehr mit den Gästen von 19 Uhr beschäftigt. Wir lieben die schwäbische Küche und bestellten zwei Mal Zwiebelrostbraten mit Beilagensalat, dazu Lemberger Rotwein und Mineralwasser. Der Lemberger war in Ordnung, überzeugte aber nicht besonders. Fast eine halbe Stunde sassen wir mit Getränk am sonst leeren Tisch. Um 20.30 Uhr baten wir hungrig wenigstens um Brot, was an anderen Orten unaufgefordert zu Beginn angeboten wird. Es kam schnell und entsprach dem Üblichen. Bald darauf kam auch der Salat, der uns gut schmeckte. Um 20.55 Uhr wurde der Rostbraten serviert. Das Fleisch war von guter Qualität und perfekt medium gebraten. Die Sauce war eine Enttäuschung: dünn, fad und lieblos. Manche Beutelsauce aus dem Supermarkt schmeckt besser. Zum Dessert hätten wir gerne frische Erdbeeren bestellt. Die waren aber schon aufgegessen. Deshalb verzichteten wir, zahlten und machten uns auf den Heimweg. An diesem Abend schienen uns Küche und Personal überfordert. Schade!

When you visit Tübingen, the Mauganeschtle is a must. I like the menu, the ambience and the staff are always nice and friendly. You have a beautiful view from the winter garden and when the temperatures are pleasant you can sit on the terrace.

Unfortunately, the table top of our table in the winter garden wobbled.

I had announced in advance that we would have a birthday child with us. The table was beautifully decorated and there was a great dessert with small table fireworks ready when we came in. Everyone congratulated. Great friendly team. Thank you for the relaxing stay!

As always, super tasty, great atmosphere outside on the terrace with a view over Tübingen. The price is still ok, but already at the upper limit. But it's nice that the Mauganeschtle exists. We always enjoy coming back regularly.

I loved that there were vegan options on the menu - keep it up! The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed at times and occasionally forgot a few orders, but they were also a large group. Well suited for a communal drink in combination with decent food.
