Food is simply delicious. It seems simple, but don't let it fool you, it rivals the most exotic sounding ones. Which speaks to the quality of the preparation. My favorite, the starter potato's in a tomato onion sauce. Simply Devine.

A great little restaurant The one star deducted for ambience is because the restaurant has a modern decor and doesn't reflect the life and lifestyle of the Afghans, at least not as I experienced it in Afghanistan. The service, I think, is the owner, and she's incredibly friendly. The food was excellent and very similar to the food in Afghanistan. I think the difference is simply that they have to work with ingredients from Germany. Moreover, Swabians have to be satisfied, which is why there are unfortunately fries on the grill plate, which I find a shame. But overall, I'm thrilled with the restaurant and happy that this culinary specialty has made it here and that you can once again broaden your worldview here in this country. I recommend specifying when ordering that you only want what is available in Afghanistan; this will make it a very special experience and demonstrate that every country is wonderful in its own way. I hope you'll be here for a long time and that you continue to be so successful in representing your homeland so wonderfully.

Wonderful food, lovely server and beautiful dining area. Small dining area, we got lucky with no reservation to walk in. They also do take out. Husband and I split the Marefat grill plate. Kids had the kofta Chalaw, chicken nuggets (real chicken not weird ground chicken) and chicken soup. The food was amazing. Flavorful, perfectly cooked and served quickly. Server was lovely. Attentive when we needed her. Prices reasonable for the amount of food - If you have small kids who want an adult meal they will allow you to split (we had a 5 and 3 year old who wanted to split the kofta Chalaw). Marefat grill plate was 3 kinds of meats (chicken, lamb and a ground meat) with salad, fries, yogurt dip AND rice. The grilled vegetables (tomato and pepper) were especially delicious. The kofta chalaw was 3 meatballs (my kids said best meatballs ever) in a sauce with rice and salad. Portion large! Chicken nuggets and fries (not pictured) were hot and very good. Chicken soup was delicious - had a thicker texture and wonderful flavor. Will absolutely return and recommend! Menus in German and English which we appreciated. We can read German and order but to have to translated already made it much easier for our kids just learning to read. Thank you thank you for such a great meal!

Been looking for a new restaurant to try and came across this little gem. Super cozy, soft Afghani music in the background. Food is delicious, freshly prepped. We had their mixed grill for two. The chicken was perfectly cooked and still juicy, the lamb soft and tender and the minced meat skewer was excellent. The Qabeli rice was on point! We really enjoyed our dinner and hope to put this restaurant into our rotation!

This restaurant is the best thing that has happened to Vaihingen in a long time. Anyone who has the chance to eat something here should take advantage of it. If I could afford it I would eat there for the rest of my life and I say that not after one heavenly dish but dozens.

We have eaten at the Marefat restaurant a few times and have always been very, very satisfied. The taste of the food is very good, as is the quality of the ingredients. The service is very friendly and you immediately feel at home. We personally really like the ambience. Since the restaurant doesn't have that many seats (maybe a little more than 20), I think it's recommended to make a reservation in advance.

I had the pleasure of visiting Marefat Afghan Restaurant and I absolutely loved it! The ambience is warm and inviting, and the traditional Afghan decoration creates an authentic atmosphere. The food was simply excellent. Every dish we tried was freshly prepared and seasoned with a wealth of flavors. I can particularly recommend the Kabuli Palaw and the Mantu. The portions are generous and the prices are absolutely fair. The service was also first class. The staff was very friendly, attentive and gave us great recommendations. It is obvious that the work here is done with a lot of love and dedication. For anyone who loves Afghan cuisine or simply wants to try something new, the Marefat restaurant is an absolute must. It's a great place! Not knowing what Afghanistan food is like I must say it was very tasty! We ordered the aubergine and the recommended lamb dish with potatoes. To drink their traditional Yogurt drink (was surprised by it because it's savory but I liked it! Def. Order water with it though jiji) Service was super nice and quick!

Food was amazing. No doubt. You hardly find authentic kabli pulao but this place is right there at the Top for it's Kabuli Pulao. Chicken speise was also super delicious and juicy. My only disappointment is the serving amount was very less. And maybe Brot should have been fresh and warmer.

Great food - also to take away Luckily we had reserved a table for 4 for Friday evening as space is limited. The starters and main courses are large portions and extremely tasty.

It was the Afghan food that I loved from my deployment. I got the Qabeli - lamb with rice (cooked in lamb bone broth) with shredded carrots and raisins. I went with the side of eggplant which was also very well seasoned. The restaurant is small - only about six tables. When I got to the place there was only one table with a reserved sign on it by they let me sit anyway. I was a little sad that there was no alcoholic drinks but that is also similar to my stay in Afghanistan. . .

Und das Essen war sehr geschmackvoll und lecker: nicht nur Mantu (gedämpfte Teigtaschen mit Füllung), das Lamm mit dem tollen afghanischen Reis und das Dugh (persisches Joughurt-Getränk). Und das Mousse au chocolate: ein Traum.

This restaurant is a diamond in the rough! ❤️ I was there last week. We ordered two plates of Qabuli Pulao — an afghan national dish — which turned out to be very authentic! There are 3 sides you can choose from; Chicken kofte, fried eggplant with gravy, and potatoes, all of which are superb! There was a slight misunderstanding in our order, but as soon as we addressed our concerns to the server, she exchanged our food with a smile on her face — and that kind of service is impeccable. Thanks a lot to the team and I look forward to visiting Restaurant Marefat once again! 😁 💯 recommended.

Übrigens sind die Portionen wirklich groß und man wird immer satt. Die Inhaberin ist ebenfalls sehr freundlich. Ich komme wirklich sehr gerne in zu Marefat!
