Restaurant Maharaja in Ansbach

By far the best Indian restaurant we have ever been to. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was cozy and the employees were extremely friendly and quick. Any time!

Maharaja is probably my favorite Indian restaurant out of every place I’ve ever lived. The food is always hot, always fresh, always delicious. We love that we are always greeted like friends when we come for dine in or take out.

The best Indian restaurant we know in Franconia. The service is very friendly and attentive and the dishes are very varied and well seasoned, as you would expect from good Indian cuisine. Fresh herbs like cilantro are so important and there are fewer and fewer restaurants that can make this happen. We love the Maharaja.

The food was okay, a lot in terms of quantity but nothing special in terms of taste. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was warm and cozy.

Very chic Indian in an absolutely good location. Went here for lunch at lunchtime on my government day. For €10 including a tip you can have a portion that is absolutely filling and a drink. The guest is king and is served excellently. Thumbs up, rarely found. I'll definitely be back.

The Butter Chicken is the best Indian dish I have ever eaten. There is no Indian restaurant that comes close to this one. Plus the lunch menu price. There is often a slight delay in delivery (approx. 15-30 minutes). Nevertheless, I can only recommend the restaurant.

M23 - Butter chicken, is by far the best thing I have ever eaten in this restaurant, the meat is very tender and soft. I've been to many Indian restaurants and no one has come close to Maharaja's bitter chicken 12/10 The lunch menus are very inexpensive, but if you order something at work you always have to expect a little delay, which is acceptable since it is after all lunchtime and everyone wants their food at 12.

Super lovely woman who served us. The restaurant is small but not cramped and very comfortable. The food was excellent, the meat was tender, the garlic naan was fresh and still warm. We will definitely come back and try more specialties

The Maharaja Restaurant in Ansbach is rather inconspicuous from the outside, but inside it turns out to be a real gem with beautiful Indian furnishings. The atmosphere immediately invites you to feel good. Particularly noteworthy is the friendly and courteous service. Even without a reservation you can get a table quickly. The dishes are served quickly and the portions are generous, especially for the meat dishes. You can also order extra rice for free! The highlight for me was the fresh naan, served with various delicious sauces. Overall, a very good restaurant and a recommendation for every lover of Indian cuisine.

The food here is incredibly authentic and original, reminding us of home. We dined here for dinner every day and even ordered lunch for our German colleagues at the company we visited - they loved it too! Super tasty and inexpensive food, very cozy atmosphere, extremely courteous service. Even rush hour or prime time deliveries arrive after half an hour and pickups are usually ready after 15 minutes.

From the outside the restaurant doesn't look very inviting. You're even more positively surprised when you go in. Without a reservation it is difficult to get a place. It is therefore best to call shortly beforehand, even if you are planning a spontaneous visit. The food is very tasty and reasonably priced. The whole thing is topped off by the extremely friendly staff.

The restaurant has a nice ambience, it feels warm and inviting The two of us paid €50 for a large portion that left each of us full. The portions are well balanced so you don't have to take a lot with you, but there are boxes to go. The food is beautifully prepared and tastes very tasty. The dishes are served out in hot plates or in little pots where everyone can put the food on their own plate, which is great for trying out all the dishes. The staff is friendly and does a very good job. You definitely need to make a reservation as the restaurant is very busy. We found a parking space right in front of the door, but there is a large parking area in the town of Ansbach nearby (5 minutes walk). We will definitely come back and recommend the restaurant.

A very comfortable vibe with even better food. One of the most memorable experience in Germany :). To top it all, the people managing are really friendly and offer the most homely vibe.

Portions are very large and taste excellent. We always take butter chicken and the mixed starter plate mixed pakora with 8 different starters. A visit is recommended and it is best to make a reservation.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant ever. They have the best food! I have eaten nearly everything off of the vegetarian menu, but now only eat the butter chicken sauce. I used to order it with paneer instead of chicken but the sauce is so good, I just want the sauce. The portions are great. We come nearly monthly and usually get it to-go, but if you dine in, they will pack your meal up and give you extra rice usually. The staff are very nice and speak English. I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone. We rarely eat out, but choose Maharaja 80% of the time when we do. And so should you ;)

Keine wirklich authentische Küche. Die Sauce des Hauptgerichtes hat nach Fertigsauce geschmeckt. Die panierten Champions waren langweilig. Personal sehr nett und aufmerksam. Schade....

Hervorragendes Essen auch für bayerische Geschmäcker! Man kann sich schön Zeit lassen und genießen, da das Gericht direkt am Tisch warmgehalten wird! Außerdem wirklich sehr günstige Preise!

Schnellrestaurant wäre eine treffende Bezeichnung, man hat noch die letzte Gabel mit der Vorspeise im Mund, wird der Teller weggezogen und die Untersetzer für die Hauptspeise unsanft auf den Tisch gelegt. Man sollte schnell essen, sich nicht weiter aufhalten und den Tisch für die nächsten Gäste frei machen. In dem engen Lokal drängen sich während man ißt, die kommenden und die gehenden Gäste zusammen mit den Lieferdiensten mit den großen Steroporboxen, was zu einiger Unruhe beiträgt. Das Personal ist eher unfreundlich, man wird keinesfalls gefragt, ob man noch was trinken oder gar einen Nachtisch möchte, dies würde „Zeitverzug“ bedeuten. Ach ja, um noch das Essen zu erwähnen: Vorspeise war einigermaßen gut, die Hauptspeise lieblos angerichtet, das Fleisch trocken, insgesamt geschmacklos. Die verschiedenen Soßen sind sicher nicht hausgemacht. Fazit: wir können dieses Lokal nicht empfehlen!

Sehr leckeres Essen, gute Preise und top Naan! Serviert wird in einem kleinen Topf der warm gehalten wird durch Kerzen mit einer Schüssel Reis und einem Teller zum anrichten und verzehren.

Hatte was zum abholen bestellt. Der Service-sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und entgegenkommend. Das Essen selbst-total lecker, zerging richtig auf der Zunge! Die Portionen richtig großzügig.

Gemütliche Atmosphäre, sehr freundliches Personal allerdings ohne Reservierung schlecht einen Tisch zubekommen da sehr gut besucht das Lokal. Essen sehr gut ob Huhn oder Lamm oder Fisch ,angenehme schärfe im Essen 👍 sehr zu empfehlen.

Ich war zum ersten mal hier. Ich hatte schon viel positives gehört und ein Besuch war schon lange geplant. Ich war sehr beeindruckt von dem unglaublich guten Essen. Ich habe noch nie zuvor so zartes und gutes Lamm gegessen. Der Service ist sehr gut, Reis wird kostenlos aufgefüllt, Brot gibt es dazu. Peis Leistung ist hier absolut Top. Ich komme sehr gerne wieder. Reservierung ist zu empfehlen.

The food was a 3/10. I ordered more rice to go with my Chicken Masala. The waiter stuck his hand inside the bowl of rice to test if it’s warm in front of my face and wasn’t friendly at all. They did not greet us when we first entered, even after we sat down but we still gave it a try. Flies everywhere. Dirty cutlery and glasses. Never again.

Das Lokal ist ein kleines, sehr sauberes Restaurant mit absolutem Indien Flair. Sehr nettes Personal. Und das Essen ist super lecker. Im Sommer kann man auf der Terrasse wunderbar unter Schirmen sitzen. Tipp: der frisch gemachte Chai Tee ist ein Traum. Wer unter der Woche mittags kommt, kann von den Mittagsangeboten profitieren. Hier bekommt man für unter 10€ ein Gericht einschließlich Reis und Naan Brot.

Für den deutschen Gaumen exotisch genug. Als Hobbykoch mit Freunden aus dieser Gegend der Welt ist mir das nicht elegant genug gewürzt und die Konsistenz hat uns nicht gepasst. Es gibt aber kaum bessere indische Restaurants in Deutschland. In Erlangen gibts viell. eines ;-)

Ich würde am Geburtstag entführt und als Überraschung ins indische Restaurant Maharaja in Ansbach eingeladen. Ich habe dort zum ersten Mal indisch gegessen und war begeistert. Das Essen, der Service und das Ambiente super. Ich habe mich sofort sehr wohl gefühlt und werde da öfters hingehen.
