We ate at Magu today. We really enjoyed it. The entire team is very friendly and accommodating. Everything tasted excellent. I particularly enjoyed the onion soup. The value for money is more than acceptable. Quick tip: They serve "men's portions."👍

We ate here three times during our vacation. Very delicious food in a lovely atmosphere. We especially liked our waitress, Katja. Despite the stress, she was always nice, friendly, and attentive. I wish her boss was as nice as she was. It's not nice to overhear him talking to his staff.

We were thrilled. The food was excellent, the service was fantastic, and the Mediterranean-style courtyard was simply stunning.

First of all, I'm a real cheesecake lover! I was there on a recommendation and got a slice of the cheesecake to take home. A definite plus point is that, despite it being a takeaway, the kitchen does its best to serve the cake beautifully. And now to the point: the taste was absolutely phenomenal, the mouthfeel was just right, and the fresh fruit combined with the fruity sauce further perfected the cheesecake.

Dogs are welcome. We were able to stop in without a reservation. The rustic ambiance has its charm, though. The small nooks and crannies create a cozy atmosphere, inviting you to linger. The service was friendly and attentive. The food, a "Rhenish-style" roast and the falafel burger, tasted perfect. We'd happily stop here again if we ever find ourselves in the area again.

Since we moved from Cologne to Mechernih a few years ago, Magu has been one of our favorites. Delicious food (especially the burgers!), friendly and quick service, and a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Super tasty burgers, really good, the Magu Burger is highly recommended. The ambiance is okay but definitely not bad, the service was very friendly and quick, definitely worth a visit.

The paved floor, the trees with fairy lights, and the wooden tables and chairs – just the kind of place I'd want to feel at home. The food, the appetizer, the main course, and even the dessert were all unbeatable in terms of taste! The staff was fantastic, friendly, helpful, and patient when it took a while for my 8-year-old to choose her food. Thank you for a lovely evening that I was able to spend there with my family!

Grumpy service. Very smelly restrooms in the basement. The food is acceptable, but the raspberry sauce isn't. I guess allergy sufferers might have problems here. A small addendum for the owner who responded TODAY after 8 years: I'm convinced things have improved since then 😊

The sauerbraten didn't taste as good today as it used to...when I asked if they had horseradish instead of apple compote, I was told no, even though it was there before. I expect good service from a restaurant, and unfortunately it wasn't that great today. My son didn't like the pork goulash either, just the mashed potatoes.

After a few rounds of beer at the fair, we were hungry and didn't feel like eating currywurst, etc. We, six men between 25 and 38, found ourselves at Magu. The service was very attentive, the menu appealing, and my rump steak was really good. I can recommend it.

Wir hätten echt gerne im Magu gegessen, sind extra mit dem Fahrrad dafür ins Städtchen gefahren. Obwohl der Laden höchstens zu einem Viertel besetzt war, hat man uns sehr unfreundlich abgewimmelt. Wir könnten etwas trinken, aber auf keinen Fall Speisen bestellen, da gleich viele Reservierungen kämen. Wären wir zu sechst oder mit mehr Personen spontan erschienen, hätte ich dafür vollstes Verständnis, aber als Pärchen zu zweit bei lauter leeren Tischen… Schade.

We come from Oldenburg and were visiting Mechernich and found this great restaurant. From the outside it looked like a pub and then you walk in and are just amazed ❤️The food 10 out of 10. Service was very nice and courteous ❤️

A great restaurant. Insanely delicious food and great, personal, very nice service. The location itself and the ambience are also really great. The offering is very diverse, so there really is something for every taste. We were there for our daughter's birthday and the visit to Magu topped off the day. We'll definitely be back!

Magu has a unique atmosphere compared to other restaurants. The food tasted very good and was actually very plentiful, except for my fried potatoes, which I wanted to have with the schnitzel instead of the fries. There was, perhaps an isolated case, an unusually large amount of free space on the plate - compared to the other 5 meals. The service, even if it sounds very clumsy, is an absolute eye-catcher and very nice (+ 1 star), although a little "off track" that evening. This concerns the allocation of the schnitzels or drinks. It was certainly not their responsibility that some guests had their main course served before the salad. A fundamental point of criticism is the price charged. If there are no guests, you should consider whether it might be worth generating more customers with cheaper meals, see the “Schnitzel Day” that has already been introduced.

From my point of view, a recommendation. Despite the rather rustic furnishings, a very appealing atmosphere... Good service and rich food complete the overall package. I'd love to come back...

Looking for something new, we came across Magu. Almost as we drove past, a guest standing in front of the restaurant kindly invited us to visit the beer garden (today is December). So open the door and go in. There was a huge, great bar area and a very friendly welcome from the bartender. We bravely followed the friendly gentlemen into the beer garden, which was heated and modeled on a southern street scene. We found our dishes on the menu. We feasted our way through the evening with steaks and medallions fried to perfection. One thing is for sure, we will feast our way through the menu, we will be back.

Gladly again and again... We celebrated our birthday there with more than 70 people. It was really nice - delicious buffet, very attentive waiters. We and our guests were thrilled.

Good food but pricey drinks (7.50 for 0.75 liters of water). Service disinterested and slow, they don't speak English. Only pay with German card, foreign cards will be refused. When we paid in cash they also rudely asked if they could keep the change. So no.

Were there for “Schnitzel Day”, the food was delicious. Everyone has had their fill. Price-wise, completely okay. It looks really chic inside, you can't even tell from the outside of the restaurant.

The food was mediocre, my hamburger bun disintegrated as soon as I touched it and the potato wedges were soaking in fat. Moreover, the service was very slow, after we ordered drinks it took over ten minutes before the waiter brought our drinks, we even saw the waiter casually chatting with other guests. Furthermore, in true German ignorance, card payments are refused. And not even kindly refused, but I was pointed to the door by an angry waiter who told me to hurry up (after they were very slow themselves all evening). I would not recommend this place at all, I'm sad that I didn't reserve at the Rathaus Bistro 50 meters further along the street. So, don't make the same mistake!

We were looking for a restaurant that had fresh asparagus in its daily menu and found it at Magu in Mechernich. We were both happily surprised because the asparagus was fantastic. Cooked to perfection, extremely delicious in taste, not - as is so often the case - drowned in the delicious Hollandaise sauce, and - since we are both vegetarians - well-seasoned potato patties made from good potatoes. Of course, asparagus is also available with the other usual classics as a side dish on the season menu. Very friendly service and an interesting conversation about the origins of asparagus rounded off the gourmet visit to Mechernich after a hike in the wonderful nature of the Eifel. Thanks!

Wir waren letzten Sonntag zu viert da und waren absolut zufrieden! Das italienische Flair der Location ist top,die Bedienung sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Der Chef war auch für einen netten Plausch zugänglich. Das Essen war absolut top! Der Grappa als Abschluss war noch mehr wie köstlich. Wir werden ab jetzt öfter dort essen.

I was recently at the Magu restaurant in Mechernich and I was absolutely thrilled! The burger was not only delicious, but also perfectly prepared. The location itself is a real eye-catcher and looks really great from the inside. So if you're in the area, you should definitely eat there. An absolute recommendation for anyone looking for a culinary highlight in the region!

Although we had reserved a table to eat potato pancakes, we couldn't get one. The lady on the phone didn't write it down. It wasn't possible to serve us any anyway.

From the outside the store is a disaster compared to what happens when you go inside. To be honest, I don't think I've ever been to such a beautifully decorated restaurant! Great atmosphere, great furnishings, super nice waitress and food was delicious too! 30€ for a rump steak is relatively normal, if you go you should plan on spending 25/30€ per person. Gladly again!

Das Magu besuche ich mit großen zeitlichen Abständen seit vielen Jahren. Ich bin noch nie enttäuscht worden und finde das Ambiente sehr schön. Die schnitzel haben mir auch immer geschmeckt. Sicherlich in Mechernich eine solide Adresse mit der man nichts falsch machen kann.

A great party yesterday on Women's Thursday. Unfortunately, no tent or anything similar was provided as rain protection for the smoking area on the outside terrace. Unfortunately, many smokers were very annoyed.
