Restaurant Lumperhof in Ravensburg

We went for a meal on short notice. The food was delicious, and they also had some special dishes. Veal heart and lamb shoulder were my favorites. The food was excellent, and the service was top-notch.

I spontaneously drove to Lumperhof, only to discover upon arrival that it was closed for a private event that evening, forcing me to turn around hungry and disappointed. I wish this information had been available on the website—or that the opening hours had been updated accordingly in their Google profile. I even double-checked to make sure I hadn't missed something. It's 2025, almost 2026. Digital communication is essential. I'll gladly update this review if I can manage it on my next visit to Lake Constance.

For a special occasion, the Lumperhof is an excellent choice! We've never been disappointed and are always delighted. It's exceptional that everything is still made in-house! This definitely pays off in the taste. The service is also memorable. We always receive a warm welcome and are now even addressed by name :) The menu recommendations are outstanding, and any questions about the dishes are answered thoroughly. A particular highlight for me personally is always the dessert! A variety of different small delicacies, lovingly presented and perfectly coordinated. Here, too, everything is made in-house, and there's a new version every time. We are so happy to have found this restaurant and thank you sincerely for your dedication and hospitality!

I highly recommend it. I first went in 2015. To this day, it remains one of my top 10 culinary experiences. The chanterelle cappuccino still brings a sparkle to my eyes. My second visit in 2017 was good, but not outstanding. I recently went back – and it was very good again. The service was very friendly. My girlfriend ordered a different side dish due to an intolerance. A waitress came over and discussed it with her – excellent service. The food speaks for itself; it's consistently high quality. Down-to-earth, yet varied, without being pretentious. I wish there were places like this in Berlin. As for the atmosphere: I really like it, very much so. The lighting is lovely in the winter (in the dining room). One small drawback: They only accept cash. That's really outdated in 2025. Otherwise, it's always worth a visit, and we're looking forward to the next time.

Great – my family has been coming here for many years. The food is simply fantastic, as the chef has a talent for subtly combining Asian, Italian, and classic Swabian cuisine. The food is cooked with attention to detail, beautifully presented, and served with humor, skill, professional know-how, and a welcoming atmosphere. There's a selection of regional wines, beer from the local brewery, meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes, and even allergies can be accommodated without any problems. You can sit outside or inside and have a wonderful time here. My "insider tip": the homemade elderflower sorbet

My partner and I have eaten at Lumperhof four times now. The service is always very attentive, friendly, and welcoming. Definitely worth five stars. A major drawback for me is that you have to pay in cash and you still can't pay by card. In my opinion, this is outdated and no longer acceptable. In 2025, I can't explain this by a lack of card reader reception. Perhaps the few percent transaction fees simply have to be paid. Unfortunately, I have to deduct a star for this. The food (starter and main course) is excellent and simply very good. Only the dessert is a disaster. For dessert, they constantly offer instant desserts as a potpourri. This has been a huge disappointment every time because, in my opinion, it doesn't properly round off the otherwise wonderful food and devalues ​​it. Why this variety of purchased items? - It's a shame. The portions are always very large and absolutely sufficient for everyone. A small deduction is made for the presentation of the food. The taste is fantastic, but the presentation is unfortunately not as lovingly presented. The decor could use a modernization. The "homely" ambiance would still be preserved even with upholstered benches and chairs. I find the number of tables very pleasant, which makes an evening there much quieter and more pleasant than in other restaurants. Overall, it's definitely worth a visit, but I've gotten significantly more for this price at other places.

From the welcome to the farewell, a wonderful evening. The friendliness of the staff is outstanding, I have rarely felt so welcome :-) The food was simply delicious. Fresh salad with delicious dressing and seeds. The Kässpätzle and the onion roast are dishes that have been thought through in detail, are of high quality and highly recommended. The portions are rather large, which I didn't expect. I wouldn't miss the homemade ice cream/sorbet, it tastes delicious. The atmosphere is cozy, somewhat rustic with modern details. The only thing that could be mentioned is that payment is only possible in cash. But it's not really a bad thing for me, after all it's pointed out on the homepage.

Excellent food and great hospitality We had the pleasure of dining at Lumberhof in Ravensburg last night - and it was simply fantastic! We chose the 5-course menu, and every single course was a real highlight. A taste journey where every bite offered a new surprise - overwhelmingly good! The wine recommendation went perfectly with the food and rounded off the experience wonderfully. We were particularly impressed by the hospitality. Since we overlooked the fact that cash payment is only possible here, we were faced with a small challenge. But the landlady immediately met us with a lot of goodwill and showed us solutions in a relaxed manner - absolutely pleasant and uncomplicated. An all-round successful evening! If we are in the area again, we will definitely come back. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

We were at the Lumperhof again yesterday. It was once again an absolute highlight, both the service and the overall ambiance. The cuisine is excellent, creative, and perfectly presented, delivering dishes of the highest quality. For us, it's still the best restaurant in the Ravensburg area. We're already looking forward to our next visit. The warm welcome immediately impressed us; we immediately felt at home. The professional, attentive, and friendly service also contributed to this. The food is fantastic. It knows how to score points with fresh, regional ingredients, perfect craftsmanship, and excellent stylistic language. We'll definitely be back and recommend the Lumperhof to anyone who wants first-class food at reasonable prices.

The hosts are incredibly friendly and approachable, but the food didn't quite live up to expectations. The menu announcements sounded grander than what was served could hold up. A dish like the potato strudel is certainly perfectly crafted, but the taste is rather one-dimensional - just like mashed potatoes in strudel dough. Even Espuma and hard-to-chew savoy cabbage chips cannot catapult you into another dimension. The meat was perfectly fried. As I said: friendly welcome and nice atmosphere, but overall it doesn't quite meet expectations.

Ein erneuter zweiter Besuch. Amuse Butter und Brot. Vorspeise eine sehr überschaubare Bouabaise mit 4 kleinen Fischstückchen. Salat war ordentlich. Hauptgang zähe Entenbrust mit läppriger Sauce und nach nix schmeckendem Knödel. 3 halbrohe Maroni, Blaukraut war noch akzeptabel. Anderer Hauptgang Lammrücken versalzen, Risotto hat den angekündigten Stilton Käse nur von weitem gesehen. Die Sorbets waren gut gemacht. Alles in allem bei dem Preisniveau nicht akzeptabel. Das beste war das Wasser und 1 Flasche Bordeaux.

Today we were at the Lumperhof again for a long time. It was simply fantastic! The various spices & the fine vegetables in combination with the house chicken were sensational! Everything else as well, including the service was courteous and very friendly. We'd love to come back more often!

You have a choice between stupidity and stinginess in this restaurant. After sharing a tiny starter, a main course each and three glasses of wine, we were presented with a bill for €120.20. After I had paid €120.00, to pay in cash -- "because the internet is not working properly" -- the waitress promptly demanded the last €0.20. I gave them €1.00 and gave them €0.80 as a first gift in their savings fund for a customer service and vocational training course.

Après 1 hors-d'oeuvre partagé + 2 plats qui étaient bons et 3 vers de vins médiocres, l'addition s'élevait à 120,20€. Après avoir payé avec le sourire les 120,00€, la serveuse nous réclamait les dernières 0,20€, explicant qu'elle n'était pas authorisée à les donner, et qu'elle aurait dû les payer de sa poche si je ne les payais pas. Je lui ai évidemment ajouté 1,00€ en lui suggérant de donner les 0,80€ de trop à ses patrons comme sponsorisation, dont ils semblaient avoir besoin. En outre, soi-disant parce que le signal téléphonique y était trop faible, la maison n'accepte pas de payement par carte. L'Allemagne un pays en développement, ou un pays de restaurateurs radins ? Ou les deux ?

Really fantastic food in a warm, family atmosphere. A “bench” for special occasions for years, but also the right choice for sausage salad in the garden after a walk. We are already looking forward to the next visit and thank you for the many wonderful hours so far!

We were at the lumperhof for the first time today and were very impressed. The food was simply great, very nicely prepared and tasted great! Worth every euro! The service was super nice and accommodating! We can only warmly recommend this restaurant and will pass it on as a tip! We'd love to come back!

The positive comments first: The operation/service was very friendly and quick. The atmosphere (outside) was also great and idyllic. However, the food was “just” ok. Especially for the price. I'm happy to pay €40 for a dish, but then it has to be great. Especially when advertising with a Michelin star, the standard should be slightly higher. I doubt that this cuisine would get a Michelin star again today. Overall, the food was okay, but just not justified for this price range.

We were in a group of 7 people for dinner. We had reserved our seats and received a very warm welcome. The table was lovingly set and very inviting. There was something for everyone on the menu. The drinks came very quickly, the food came for everyone in a very reasonable time. The dishes are very attractively presented on the plates. Each of us was thrilled. The menu also includes something for those with a sweet tooth. Praise for the service - the two ladies were super nice, humorous and, although the restaurant was very busy, friendly and relaxed. We felt completely comfortable. Thanks to the whole team.

Had venison 2 strips, side dishes no salad, well. Paying €39 for this was a shame If you wanted something else, unfortunately there wasn't anything left. Menu on site is not the same as on the homepage.

Ein sehr gutes Restaurant mit herausragendem Service. Das Essen hat Top-Niveau. Es werden hier nur die besten Zutaten verwendet. Das ist beim Blick auf die Karte und natürlich auch beim essen spürbar. Eine saisonal angepasste Speisekarte und verlockende Tagesgerichte runden dieses Gesamtbild ab. Das Resultat ist ein gehobenes Restaurant für jeglichen Anlass. Wenn man nicht Vorspeise, Hauptspeise und Nachtisch braucht, kommt man bei einem ordentlichen Gericht (Rinderfilet, Rehrücken…) auch sehr gut unter 50€ aus. Auch ein kleiner Nachtisch ist da noch mit drin. Für die Qualität ist der Preis mehr als gerechtfertigt. Worauf man allerdings achten muss in diesem Restaurant: Keine Kartenzahlung möglich (darauf wurden wir aber beim Reservieren schon sehr höflich hingewiesen). Absolute Empfehlung - hier ist für jeden was dabei (auch die vegetarische Auswahl sah phänomenal aus).

Zum wiederholter Mal haben wir dieses wunderbare, im Wald gelegene, Restaurant besucht. Die Küche arbeitet auf hohem Niveau und die Gerichte sind schmackhaft und ansprechend eingerichtet. Die Preise sind etwas gehoben aber für die Qualität gerechtfertigt. Die Wirtin ist stets freundlich und verbindlich. Einziger Wermutstropfen stellt die ältere Bedienung dar, die manchmal unempathisch und genervt mit den Gästen umgeht.

Wir hatten fuer die Osterfeiertage etwas Besonderes gesucht und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das Restaurant ist etwas ausserhalb von Ravensburg mit angenehmer, heller Atmosphäre. Die Karte ist klassisch mit gehobenem Niveau (tafelspitz, fisch, kalbsruecken…). Alle unsere Gerichte wurden in ausgezeichnet guter Qualitaet zubereitet und vom Team sehr freundlich serviert. Wir hatten dabei einige Fragen zu Allergien welche uns nach Rueckfrage in der Kueche beantwortet wurden (Gerichte wurden nicht entsprechend angepasst, aber wir konnten Alternativen in der Karte finden). Die Preise sind - wie die Kueche - gehoben, aber mit etwa 30-35 EUR fuer die Hauptgaenge auch nicht ueberzogen fuer die Qualitaet. Auch Getraenke und Desserts wurden zu angemessenen Preisen offeriert. Es gilt zu bedenken, dass das Restaurant nur Bargeld akzeptiert. Alles in Allem eine klare Empfehlung und vielen Dank an das Team vom Lumperhof!

Mit Abstand das beste Restaurant der gehobenen Gastronomie in der Gegend. Für die Qualität sind die Preise gerechtfertigt. Viel Liebe zum Detail, hier wird das Handwerk noch verstanden. Herzlicher Empfang und gute Beratung. Komme auf jedenfall wieder.

Man merkt von Anfang bis Ende, das ist gelebte Gastronomie. Der Empfang super herzlich, einwandfreier, aufmerksamer Service. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und immer mit einem gewissen Extra. Wir waren schon öfter da und kommen auch gerne wieder.

Es war für uns ein Erlebnis heute, erste mal dort gewesen. Preise sind ziemlich hoch, essen aber sehr frisch. Allerdings wer grosse Hunger hat kann es sein dass auch nicht ganz satt wird. Hier ist für Feinschmecker. Uns hat fast alles geschmeckt. Sehr freundliche Bedienungen, alles sehr sauber.

Es ist etwas besonderes, die Gerichte sind eine wahre Kunst in jeglicher Hinsicht, ein Geschmacksorgasmus nach dem anderen. Das Restaurant ist schön gelegen jedoch die Einrichtung könnte einen kick vertragen. Fachliche sehr freundliche Bedienung die Ihren Beruf sehr ernst nehmen und dem Gast eine schöne Zeit vermitteln! Warum in die Ferne schweifen wenn das Gute liegt so nah.
