The food is very tasty, I can only recommend it, price-performance ratio is good

We were looking forward to a visit because it had been recommended to us. Unfortunately, we only got as far as the terrace entrance. We were very arrogantly turned away with a wave of the hand because we had a dog with us. It could have been a bit friendlier! It's a shame, but we had always expected a friendlier turndown.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to try the food because we were asked to leave. The reason: we have a child. We were absolutely stunned; children aren't allowed here. Apparently, the fact that children are tomorrow's guests doesn't matter. Absolutely discriminatory.

Two of us dined on the beautiful terrace on Tuesday evening. The service was very attentive, drinks arrived promptly, and the ambiance was wonderful! The food was fantastic. We had vitello tonnato and bruschetta for starters. For our main course, we both had pizza. The pizza was the absolute highlight of the evening. Incredibly crispy, generously topped but not overly so, and the crust was fluffy and crispy. Without exaggeration, definitely the best pizza in Wernigerode and the surrounding area. 5 out of 5 stars!

I went there for dinner with my family and my child. Unfortunately, we were rudely informed that children aren't allowed. While there may be internal rules, a more respectful and friendly approach would have been appreciated. Therefore, I'm only giving it one star—I didn't get to try the food. Fortunately, there are many other restaurants in Wernigerode that welcome families with children.

Children not welcome – that says it all. My children were stunned that there are restaurants where they're not welcome. It's a shame. But there are plenty of other great places where you can have a great meal with children.

Since we had a room in the hotel's own restaurant, we naturally also ate in the restaurant. Due to the warm weather, we sat outside, which was very cozy and romantic. As the evening progressed, the beer garden filled up noticeably, making advance reservations advisable. The chef personally came to our table and recommended what we might like. Based on this recommendation, we opted for the "Pizza Starter" and "Fagotti al Formaggio e Pere," as well as the "Pork Fillet in Gorgonzola Sauce." The food that arrived was simply fantastic. After the starter (which, ideally, never runs out), there was plenty of time before the main courses were served. These were also absolutely delicious and a generous portion, but also enough that you weren't completely stuffed ;) Even as a trained chef, I had nothing to complain about 👍🏻 The chef or the waiter kept coming over and politely, but not intrusively, asked if everything was okay, or if you'd like another drink, even though your glass hadn't been empty for even a minute :) On the second evening, we ordered pizza. The base was thin, but crispy, as was the crust. The toppings were plentiful, but not too much. The Hawaiian pizza had everything you could want on it, including plenty of ham, cheese, and pineapple. The Funghi pizza had nicely thinly sliced fresh mushrooms and plenty of cheese. Simply delicious! The restaurant's price is mid-range, which is really justified given the food and service. I can definitely recommend the restaurant, not only because of the food, but also because of the friendly owners, the attentive service, and the chefs, who are obviously fully committed to their work 👍🏻

A beautiful old house right in the old town with friendly staff and excellent food. The chef is a very special but very good host. He recommended a dish that wasn't on the menu, and it tasted great.

We were on vacation in Wernigerode and were very lucky to get a seat at this wonderful pizzeria – right in the heart of town! What immediately struck us was the cozy and quaint ambiance: rustic wooden furniture, lovely decor, and a truly inviting atmosphere. You immediately feel at home. The servers were very friendly, attentive, warm, and always with a smile. That's exactly what you want! And then, of course, the highlight: the pizza. Truly delicious! Fresh toppings, crispy crust, a great selection – you can tell the love goes into cooking here. The drinks were also delicious and rounded off the evening perfectly. We really enjoyed our visit and would recommend this pizzeria without hesitation. If you're in Wernigerode and want really good pizza in a cozy atmosphere, you should definitely stop by!

We were denied food because neither dogs nor children are allowed – adults only. Not even in the garden. What a shame.

You're not welcome if you're accompanied by a dog. The unfriendly announcement: "No ducks" (he meant "dogs"). When we asked if we could put the dog in the cart, he replied (in 28-degree heat) that it would only be a blanket. We left.

A gastronomic experience like the ones you'd expect from a book. Excellent service, delicious food, and a great atmosphere. I'll be back.

I was stunned when a family with a child and a pregnant mother was turned away. Only adults, no children. Unbelievable, so much for tolerance in Wernigerode. Never again...

WARNING: CHILDREN NOT ALLOWED We were just about to eat there as a family! An older man came out and very rudely shoved a sign in front of the door, saying "no children," and that in this day and age... This man is freakish, I've never encountered such an unfriendly person!

Very good value for money, unusual pasta dishes, excellent Italian food at a low price. Very friendly service, starters and desserts are also impressive. Ambiance OK. Suggestions for improvement: Ginger Ale from Schweppes! The building could also use a new coat of paint. And a separation outside from the cars would be nice! Update (2025, after 3 years): We came back and the ambience is now really better in the outdoor seating area. A clear dish recommendation (still just as great as back then): Fagotti al Formaggio e Pere! 😋

Unfortunately, it is an example of how you have to invest something for an ambience. I found the store very uncomfortable. Starts with the music being too loud and the furniture being ugly. A lot of old decoration that is out of place. Service is good and food is ok. The menu doesn't offer much choice, so you'd expect a little more pasta.

The filled handmade pasta with Gorgonzola and caramelized pears is a dream.

Wir haben kurzfristig reserviert und offensichtlich den letzten freien Tisch am Rand erhalten. Die Speisekarte gab es nur online, aber da sie nicht so umfangreich war, hatten wir schnell das Passende gefunden. Die Penne arrabiata waren al dente, die Soße nicht zu scharf, die Pizza mit Lachs und Spinat war köstlich, dünn und knusprig, so wie ich sie liebe, aber selten finde. Der Service war ok.

Wir wollten nett als Familie essen gehen und reservierten daher für 6 Personen (4 Erwachsene, 2 Kinder) auf der Internetseite. Da wir weder eine Bestätigung noch Absage erhielten, gingen wir spontan zu La Rustica. Auf der Website hieß es schließlich: "Egal, ob Sie Lust auf Antipasti, Pizza, Nudeln, Fleisch oder Fisch haben - Sie sind immer Herzlich willkommen." Von wegen!!! Dort erwartete uns ein sehr merkwürdiger Empfang: draußen ein Schild (keine Kinder unter 10 Jahren; davon stand NICHTS auf der Internetseite), innen Discolicht, und Kneipenambiente. Der Wirt wirkte total lustlos und genervt, dass man sofort das Gefühl hatte man würde stören. Keine Begrüßung, keine freundlichen Worte. Nachdem man gefragt hat ob Kinder nicht hineindürfen und ob dies wirklich das ‚La Rustica’ sei ( ich konnte gar nicht glauben, dass es sich um ein Restaurant handelte), hat sich der Wirt einfach weggedreht und einen am Eingang stehen lassen. In so einem unfreundlichen, familienfeindlichen „Restaurant“ möchten wir gar nicht essen und dieses auch keinesfalls unterstützen!!!

Very great restaurant. The food is great and of high quality. There are great wines to choose from. I also really like the concept of minimum age. No loud children disturb you, you can spend your evening in peace. Maybe not everyone likes this, but you can expect a little tolerance from parents with small children. This will be pointed out in a friendly manner at the entrance.

The atmosphere was good, but the food wasn't tasty. I had spaghetti with shrimp, but it was more like oil soup with spaghetti. Spaghetti swam really in oil... Not tasty and stomach problems afterwards :( Cash only.

Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. War sehr lecker. Ambiente ist halt altmodisch und alt, das trügt den Eindruck. Service war ok, aber halt nicht vom Fach, das merkt man dann, aber sehr bemüht. Negativ keine Kartenzahlung… wo gibt es bitte schön das noch? Kleinstartikel kann man mittlerweile mit Karte zahlen. Wenigstens stand es dran und war noch schnell zur Bank. War auch recht laut, weil nur ein großer Raum… trotzdem danke, war in Ordnung.

Folgender Vorfall fand am 17. September 2024 am späteren Abend auf der Terrasse des Hotels statt: Wir (Hotelgäste mit Freunden, ebenfalls Hotelgäste) saßen auf der Terrasse, wollten unseren Wein bezahlen. Der Besitzer machte eine Bezahlgeste mit zwei Fingern und sagte: "Weißt du, was das bedeutet? Das bedeutet: toter Jude. Denn wenn er lebte, würde er so machen:" Es folgte eine Bezahlgeste mit drei Fingern. Sowohl wir als auch drei Gäste, mit denen der Besitzer am Tisch saß, waren wie versteinert. Dann sagte ich: " Das ist klar antisemitisch. " Der Besitzer stand auf, ging wortlos ins Haus. Seine drei Tischgenossen sagten: "Dass er damit nicht aufhören kann. Er macht es einfach immer wieder. Er kann es nicht lassen."

Unfriendly boss. Were not welcome because we wanted to eat with three small dogs. Also outdoors. Even though the place was almost empty. We were there last time. Luckily there are other restaurants with friendly people. Who also have a heart for animals.

We sat outside and the ambience is very nice. However, the chairs could be a little more comfortable and due to the uneven surface, the heavy chairs were not that easy to move. As a starter we had “Mozzarella dorata e crudo” and “Bruschetta”. If you like baked Camembert, we also like baked mozzarella. :-) There's not much to say about the Brushetta. It was just a classic Brushetta. For the main course we had “Tagliatelle Pollo” and “TONNO e CIPOLLA”. The portions were decent and the food was very tasty. At first I thought that the tagliatelle had a bit of a lack of sauce because I am a real “sauce child”. But she always had plates hidden downstairs and there really was enough. The cellar was attentive and the boss himself was also walking around. The starters arrived very quickly, but we had to wait a little longer for the main course because it was also getting fuller. But the waiting time was still completely reasonable. We would definitely eat here again and can recommend it.

Food was good, not a lot of choice. I would have liked some pasta dishes. The food was brought to the table quickly. Only the sign at the entrance irritated me a bit - luckily our kids were older. In and of itself we were satisfied

Very pleasant, family-run restaurant with a very good, well-thought-out selection of dishes and pleasant furnishings. The two of us spontaneously came by and got a nice table. My penne arrabiata was seasoned and prepared to perfection. We felt extremely comfortable and will definitely come back on our next visit to Wernigerode.

I went in as a solo traveler without a reservation and was greeted in a very friendly manner. I was offered a seat and was able to fully enjoy the meal. I can recommend this restaurant without reservations. The service was extremely friendly and accommodating. Thank you for a great meal.

In diesem Lokal sind Kinder bis 10 Jahre NICHT willkommen. Der Wirt ist auch super unfreundlich und kann dies nicht mal nett kommunizieren. Man wird direkt an der Tür des Lokales verwiesen. Als Familie oder generell Mensch der Wert auf Freundlichkeit und Respekt legt, kann ich dieses Restaurant NICHT empfehlen

I would like to give ZERO stars! Extremely rude and impossible owner! You can see that when you read his answers among the other reviews.

Rarely have I been so discriminated against by a restaurant owner (unkempt, around 60 years old, with a cheap mustache and a head of white hair that reflects his intellect). The plan was to end the holiday comfortably, have a hearty meal and reflect on the holiday. Instead, we were immediately turned away with the most hypocritical reason ever: No babies are allowed in the restaurant!!! (our son was sound asleep in the buggy!!!) We didn't even get through the doorstep and WHITEY WHITEHEAD a.k.a. The Very Old Old Jack Sparrow rushed towards us to brush us off at the door. It is completely legitimate to exercise your house rules and to deny dark-skinned people entry in 2024 is absolutely unthinkable. Good night, Germany. The perfect example of an AfD voter at its best. You have to go from Italy to Wernigerode to experience racism. Unfortunately, it leaves a bad aftertaste for an otherwise lovely city with outstanding people. If the host's bitterness knows no bounds and doesn't even stop at children or dogs, he should avoid this restaurant if possible and go to the Italian restaurant 20 meters away. There is still room for decency and respect. I ask for your opinion, Maestro. 😂😂😂

Impossible service!! We wanted to go out for something to eat here at 6 p.m. with our toddler (1.5 years old) and were turned away at the door saying that babies are not allowed. We have never experienced anything like this!! Not recommended for families or people who value friendliness!

We always enjoyed eating with you. The children under 10 rule is a joke. What a shame!

We booked from Berlin online once 2 weeks and once a week before our trip to Wernigerode for the restaurant on January 31st. Seats reserved. Since we didn't receive an answer both times, our presence was probably not valued. We then decided not to visit on site.

Great food, great recommendation from the boss, a successful evening. Be sure to reserve, it's worth it!

The boss wants to come across as funny, but that doesn't work for everyone. The pizza dough is very good but overall it lacks pizzazz, maybe because of the pizza sauce!? Bruschetta was good but carelessly prepared. Conclusion: You can do it, but for us it's not worth a second visit. After the meal, the table was completely cleared including the glasses. One glass still had something in it, which my wife was able to save. She also comes from the restaurant industry and was shocked.

We had the pork medallions and a pepperoni pizza. The meat was perfectly grilled and the tagliatelle that went with it also tasted great. The pizza was very crispy on the edge and the dough was nice and soft, and the taste was also super delicious. The soufflé al cioccolato was served warm and there is nothing wrong with that either. The ambience looks very cozy thanks to the indirect light. The restaurant will definitely become a standard when we are in the Harz.

Die Tomatensuppe auf jeden Fall essen, diese hat suchtpotential. Auch die Pizzen waren super lecker und machen Lust die Speisekarte komplett durchzuprobieren.

Essen war gut. Bedienung war freundlich . Alles in allem kann man gut Essen gehen.

Herrliches Restaurant. Der Chef kommt selbst und gibt als Geheimtipp noch spezielles Öl dazu. :-) Pizza und Pasta schmecken super. Man kann auch draußen sehr gut sitzen. Freundliche und schnelle Bedienung.

Ein schönes Restaurant etwas versteckt vom Hauptgeschehen an der Breiten Straße, aber verstecken muß sich die Qualität nicht :-) Wir waren zu Viert im Restaurant und haben sogar noch kurzfristig einen Tisch im Freien bekommen können. Das Essen war wirklich toll. Besonders zu empfehlen ist der panierte Mozzarella mit Parmaschinken (Vorspeise) sowie die Pastagerichte. Das Steak kam auf den Punkt gebraten und war ebenfalls top. Am Nebentisch schwärmten einige Gäste von der leckeren Pizza. Die werden wir uns beim nächsten Besuch sicherlich auch mal schmecken lassen.

Ich war vor vier Wochen dort und muss sagen, es ist ein richtig schönes Hotel direkt im Zentrum der historischen Altstadt. Die Zimmer sind super und das Restaurant hat richtig gutes Essen. Das Personal ist super nett und sehr familiär. Ich kann es nur weiter empfehlen und komme gerne wieder. :-)

Essen ist recht teuer, aber auch sehr gut. Der Pizzatanz der Köche ist ein absolutes Highlight.

Das Essen war unglaublich lecker. Sowohl die Vor-, als auch die Hauptspeisen waren so etwas von geschmacksintensiv. Habe ich selten erlebt. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der nette (und geschäftstüchtige) Chef. Alles zusammen ein echter Geheimtipp, wenn man etwas besonderes in Wernigerode essen möchte. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.
