Two years after our last stay, we visited Wernigerode again and took this opportunity to stop by Piazza Colombo again. While we were extremely enthusiastic back then, today's visit was sobering. When entering the restaurant around 8 p.m., the low number of guests was noticeable. The light was too bright, no table lighting, uninviting, so we asked the waiter for a wine recommendation and were each given a watery-tasting red and white version of an alcoholic grape juice. The water ordered with it, obviously from the Schickimicki Sodastream for €6, makes every Italian in his restaurant doubt his pricing policy (€2-3). But that's your own fault...it's certainly on the menu🤷 The Spaghetti aglio olio Peperoncino with additional fried vegetables (this off the menu at our request) was unfortunately drowned in oil, while the Pizza Rustica with salami, ham and mushrooms was presented unimaginatively and boringly (the base covered with ham, four slices of salami on top, cheese on top...zero herbs...done ÷[ ), although the base was delicious. No questions from the waitress about satisfaction, further requests or when clearing away after dessert, espresso or something similar. We then took care of ourselves, asked what was available and ordered. Panna cotta was flat in taste, the tiramisu was passable. Meanwhile, the staff present sat down to eat at different tables within the restaurant and were busy watching videos on their own cell phones, so that we got the impression that we were no longer with the hosts, but rather a nuisance. Unfortunately it was a waste of money and was neither worth words of disappointment nor a tip. While Wernigerode will certainly see us again again, this is almost certainly not the case in Piazza Colombo.

The food was very tasty, I can highly recommend the tiramisu. The condition is very polite, formal and very attentive, they take great care to ensure that the guests get their orders quickly. It looks very tidy and spacious, there is enough space to put on your jacket and there is enough distance from the next table. I've tried a lot of restaurants but I didn't like any of them as much as this one! 1st place colombo!

All of the food was really good and tasty. I have rarely eaten liver as good as Veniziano veal liver. My friend also thought her pasta was outstanding. And you can't go wrong with the Vitello Tonato as a starter.

You can hardly believe it 1418 reviews and 4.8 points out of 5.0. We were in the suburbs and had to see what was behind it. Service great! The food was great! Ambience great! In addition to the really good food, the service knows how to do it, and the owner is also very friendly and will sweeten the guest's evening with a recommendation. We couldn't believe it, but we had to prove ourselves wrong. NO, we are not acquaintances and unfortunately we are not part of the family ;-). It's worth a visit here! Full 5 points from us for everything.

I've never eaten so well at an Italian restaurant. I worked at the Giardino restaurant for 26 years, but I have rarely experienced such freshly prepared food and friendly service. Simply great 😊

Very nice place, in the most beautiful square in Wernigerode. The food was pretty good, and for the prices in the area it wasn't bad at all. We ordered the pasta with mushrooms, and the fish risotto. The risoto, although it lacked some sweetness, was very good in flavor. Decent pasta. I would give the food a 7/10

Highly recommended. The food was tasty, well prepared and presented. Authentic flavours of Italian cuisine. The service was very attentive and prompt. We went to eat with our youngest son (neurodiverse) and they fulfilled our orders efficiently so that he could remain calm and we could enjoy our meal. The atmosphere is very pleasant. Excellent value for money.

Unfortunately I cannot share the many positive reviews. The atmosphere is good, modern, but not so comfortably furnished. The selection of dishes isn't that huge, but it wouldn't be so bad if the quality was excellent. We actually only had pizza, but based on the ratings of 4.8 I can't say that. The dough was ok, the toppings too, but more like 4.0. I've already eaten pizzas with a 4.8, but this wasn't one of them. Dessert was a disaster. We ordered an After Eight sundae, which came without After Eight. When asked, they said everyone. I think a hint or an apology would have been great. The ^ doesn't really matter ^The service was unfortunately very unfortunate and unprofessional. Overall, rather cold. So the restaurant isn't completely stupid, but it's far from a 4.8

Totally recommended when it comes to taste and quality of food. Vegetables, meat, pizza, pasta, ice cream - the menu offers a lot in a clear format. We ordered, among other things, lamb and rump steak with potatoes and vegetables. The lamb was sensational (buttery soft & pink), the rump steak was also very tender, but unfortunately a little too cooked for our taste. Unfortunately we weren't asked and didn't think about it ourselves when ordering. Vegetables & potatoes to the point and very nicely presented. We found the price (around €30 each plus side dishes) absolutely fair given the quality and quantity of meat. The service was friendly, but unfortunately only based on signals at the table. Proactivity would be desirable here - of course also for the benefit of beverage sales. We were there with our 10-month-old son and felt comfortable. Gladly again!

Very nice Italian (: delicious tiramisu

We are a family of four, our children ordered pizza, we ordered pasta (my wife and I). Everyone was very happy with their food. We also tried each other's dishes and everyone liked all four dishes. The dessert was to die for. The service was to die for. At the end we were surprised by the boss himself by serving the ice cream with sparklers for the children. From entering to the end it was a wonderful experience. We thank you very much.

Great atmosphere, delicious food, would be back again

Unfortunately my visit wasn't that nice, we mostly just waited for our food. Then our food was taken to someone else who sorted it out again. You can't complain about the food, it was just average but the price was okay. For dessert I ordered an ice cream with kiwi, banana and strawberries and got an ice cream with cherry, chocolate and mint. The atmosphere was ok, there was music, you just couldn't hear it, the waiters were confused, but the boss made the whole atmosphere more relaxed.

You get what you pay for. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait 20 minutes for a table. Pizza was rather mediocre. You've had enough.

Food ok. We had to add seasoning to bruschetta and pizza. The chilli oil was, among other things: an Asian sauce for spring rolls. Prices ok, but quality see rating. The calzone didn't fill me up.

Unfortunately, the service wasn't that good, but the boss himself was there when the employees had left you alone with empty glasses and plates for too long. Thanks for that. :) Very nicely decorated, but with Eros Ramazotti in the background it wasn't really my cup of tea. Still worth a visit!

The food here was very tasty, you can sit comfortably by the window and have a nice view of the beautiful old town of Wernigerode. The waiter recommended an excellent wine and overall did his job very well. I just thought it was a shame that our children got their food a long time before us; before we finally had our food, we were bored.

The menu is varied and every dish is very tasty. I ate there twice. Service was slow the second time, but still worth it. Colombo is friendly and attentive. I would recommend at any time.

Delicious food. I had Pizza Colombo, the pizza had fresh vegetables on it and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture. Fair prices. Especially with the drinks. I was very happy about the fresh flowers on the table and the beautifully set tables.

Shortly after Christmas it was of course very crowded. Unfortunately, no reservations were accepted over the phone, even though tables were reserved in the restaurant. The food was quick and the service was also quick. But the tables in the restaurant were too close together and so it wasn't really comfortable.

Good, classic Italian. The menu was rather small, but the food came very quickly. Quality was okay. The Spaghetti al Tartufo could have been seasoned a little more lovingly. Small mix-up with the drinks. All in all, you can't go wrong with a visit here.

The pizza 🍕 was very tasty, large and well topped. The risotto with seafood was extremely spicy (unfortunately it wasn't on the menu), quickly swapped and then really great 😋. The dessert didn't blow our minds. Tiramisu (in a glass) was very dry and could have had a little more coffee taste. Ice cream was good. Prices are reasonable for the pizza, but too high for the dessert. Recommend booking a table. The restaurant is busy in the city center.

The food was ok. The pizza is very cold at first, let it go back, then it's better. No apology, no nothing. Extremely unfriendly waiter. I was ashamed of the Dutch people sitting next to me at the table. This one waiter desperately needs replacing, the rest were nice. Can mess up a lot.

Ich habe noch nie einen so arroganten Service erlebt. Wir haben für Samstag den 28.12.2014 bereits eine Woche vorher einen Tisch bestellt. Als Einheimische wissen wir um den Platzmangel in den Restaurants in Hochsaisonzeiten wie z.Bsp. um den Jahreswechsel. Wir waren dort auch schon früher Essen und eigentlich zufrieden. Aber was uns an diesem Samstag geboten wurde war eine Frechheit. Zum Reservierungstermin war kein Tisch frei. Auf Nachfrage wurden wir um etwas Geduld gebeten, was ja nicht schlimm ist. Aber wir wurden dann komplett ignoriert. Wir haben dann im Eingang gewartet. Dann hat der Chef hektisch eine Mitarbeiterrin gebeten uns zu einem Tisch im ersten Stock zu bringen. Der Raum, ausgestattet mit zwei Tischen erinnerte eher an einen Konferenzraum. In der Ecke stand eine große Musikbox aus der laut Musik kam. Der Raum sah aus, als wenn dort gerade eine Feier zu Ende gegangen war. Die Toiletten in der oberen Etage waren sehr schmutzig und Papierhandtücher waren nicht mehr vorhanden, Abfalleimer überrandvoll. Unser Tisch war schmutzig, nicht eingedeckt und lieblos aufgestellt. Nach einem Hinwies, doch bitte die Tischdecke und die aufgelegten, völlig versifften, Tischservietten auszutauschen, kam die Mitarbeiterin mit einem Spüllappen, um den groben Schmutz aufzunehmen. Dann wurden die Speisekarten lieblos abgelegt. Wir haben uns dann entschieden zu gehen. Ich habe dem Chef dann im Restaurant unten noch die Situation geschildert. Als Antwort Schulterzucken mit dem Hinweis, das wir doch Plätze im schönsten Raum des Restaurants bekommen haben. Das war gegenüber unseren Freunden, die ein paar Tage im Harz zu Besuch waren, mit denen wir einen schönen Abend verbringen wollten, schon peinlich. Damit ist dieses Restaurant, vorallem wegen Herr Beqiri, mit seiner Arroganz, gestorben. Schade, weil die Küche eigentlich recht gut ist. Als Einheimische wissen wir aber auch, das es Restaurants gibt, in denen man willkommen ist.

The pizza tasted good, the children's pizza was as big as dad's (😮). Unfortunately, the bruscetta was a wild salad on unroasted bread (I know it completely differently) and the tiramisu couldn't convince any of us (7 people). The staff was nice and courteous, the points were deducted because there was unfortunately no high chair for our toddler.

Simply not recommended. …… Carpaccio cut way too thick and way too tough and certainly too expensive for the price/performance ratio. The Taiglatelle with Scampi Extremely salted, simply inedible. The second star only because of the delicious homemade bread.

Italian restaurant right on the market square with a view of the market square. Parking spaces cannot be found directly on site, but are within walking distance in the neighboring streets (mostly free after 6 p.m.). Owner very committed, service staff unfortunately sometimes a bit disorganized despite the restaurant being full. Beer glasses sometimes not filled properly, wrong/missing drinks and food. The taste is rather mediocre, but well suited for a nice evening in good company. Portion size good.

We came here because of the good reviews. Unfortunately, we have a high standard when it comes to good pizzas. My pizza wasn't hot and to be honest it was a maximum of 1-2 levels above a frozen pizza. We also had to wait a relatively long time. I can't really understand the reviews. I don't have to go here anymore. When I pay almost €14 for a pizza, I at least expect it to be hot. Sorry

Centrally located with a view of the Christmas market. Starter was garlic bread in the shape of a large pizza. Price €4.50. Great value for money and delicious. Main course linguini with scampi and zuchini for €16.50 is highly recommended. Were very satisfied.
