La Collina in Wernigerode

We ate at La Collina during a short holiday and were so impressed with the food and service that we went back again the next day.

We were very satisfied and would gladly return. We encountered very friendly staff, delicious food, and a very pleasant atmosphere. Thank you very much.

Friendly staff. Unfortunately, the food has nothing to do with Italian cuisine and love. The pasta is cheap and not cooked in the Italian style. The pizza dough is also the same. The price is okay. I would gladly pay more for a decent meal. The kitchen needs a real Italian chef who prepares and coordinates everything with love.

Not recommended. Families with small children are not welcome here! Strollers and wheelchairs should be left at home when visiting this restaurant. The interior is very cramped, and even parking them is impossible. We were there with a larger group, and although there were small children with us, neither children's menus were served (perhaps they don't even have children's plates?) nor a high chair was offered. The restaurant was quite crowded, the seating was cramped, and the service staff seemed very stressed. We had to wait a long time for our order, which was a test of patience, especially for the little ones, with a wait of over 1.5 hours. You're used to children getting their food served fairly quickly at a good restaurant. However, this was far from the case here. Part of the order was even forgotten. The food itself was average. Pizza plates were okay, but one was missing an ingredient, and the fried vegetables and rosemary potatoes were swimming in oil there. According to the owner, however, they like to prepare food that oily... Changing a baby's diaper was interesting. It's hard to believe, but there are actually no changing facilities on site. When we asked, they recommended changing the baby next to a sink (on the cold, wet stone countertop). We honestly thought they were joking. Then, in all seriousness, the child had to be changed on the floor under the dining table. It's speechless. Finally, paying was a bit of a guessing game. Some of the service team only works with numbers when taking orders, others only with the names of the dishes, and by the end, no one knows exactly what was ordered. The customer is asked to remember everything. Overall, the restaurant team seemed unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful. Organization and child-friendliness seem to be foreign concepts here. We absolutely cannot recommend "La Collina." There are certainly better restaurants in the area where families are welcome and where you can spend your money with a clear conscience.

⭐️ 1 out of 5 stars We went to eat with a larger group (15 people, including children) – unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing. From the moment we arrived, it was extremely cramped and stuffy, with two large groups right next to each other – this wasn't pleasant for us or the other guests. A particularly negative aspect was that there was no changing table. One mother in our group actually had to change her baby on the floor after being told she could do it "on the stone." Unfortunately, the staff was quite rude and unfriendly. Some things also went wrong with the food: A children's meal was completely forgotten, and the children generally didn't get their food until very late. When paying, the staff were again stressed and unhelpful – you were suddenly supposed to know which dish you were having, even though they only used numbers when ordering. Unfortunately, questions were again met with a rude response ("I'm just the counter lady"). The food itself was mediocre: My appetizer (Caprese) was significantly overpriced at €10, the vegetables tasted quite cheap, and much of it was very oily—more oil than flavor. The pizza was okay, but nothing special. Overall: cramped, stuffy, unfriendly service, no room for families with small children, overpriced food. By the way, there's no parking nearby either. Unfortunately, this isn't a restaurant we would recommend.

Even though it was full, the three of us still got a table. The staff was friendly and very attentive to their guests' well-being. The food was absolutely delicious.

The food and dessert are highly recommended. However, the prices are lower elsewhere in the Harz. One older waiter was very cheeky, but the others were all very friendly.

Long waiting time but otherwise very nice

Delicious and reasonably priced food, along with exceptionally friendly and accommodating staff. The outdoor area is very inviting, and the food arrives quickly. If you like Italian cuisine, this is definitely the place for you.

Highly recommended! The pizzas were outstanding – super tasty, topped with fresh ingredients, and cooked to perfection. You can immediately tell the quality and attention to detail that goes into making them. We were particularly pleasantly surprised by how quickly they were prepared: just 15 minutes after ordering, the steaming pizzas were on the table – perfect when you're really hungry! The garlic bread was in the oven a little too long, but still tasted really good – crispy, intense, and a great start to the evening. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable visit. We'll definitely be back! 🍕💯

We were there five years ago and definitely wanted to eat there again. The pizza is crispy and the spaghetti is fantastic. The staff is attentive without being intrusive. Reservations are recommended. We'll be back!!!

Not recommended despite the cozy atmosphere: tourists are rudely told that they are supposedly 90 minutes late, but the table has been kept free. Processing is then carried out in quick succession. Pizzas with unpleasant toppings, thick dough. Pasta drowned in poor quality oil, wrong drinks brought...Italian hospitality is different!

We can also highly recommend this restaurant. The food was very tasty and also plentiful. The staff here was also very friendly and accommodating. The Frutti di Mare spaghetti was very tasty and the pizza was also tasty. Everything tip top.

We spontaneously got a table in the evening. The employees were all very friendly. "We apologize ;) the nice lady with the short blonde hair certainly knows. Thank you for the warm service" There is a very good vegetarian and vegan selection. That really excited me. The ambience is also beautifully designed. The pizza with vegetables was delicious, even if the creme fraiche was a bit unusual. A huge compliment for the dessert “poppy seed donuts” wow how incredibly tasty they were. A small portion is easily enough for two people. That was pure culinary delight. Simply delicious. Very big recommendation

We are Hamburgers and come to Ero's La Colina restaurant every time we are in Wernigerode. There is NO better Italian. We book weeks in advance to even get a table. It's always full. That's saying something. The delicious pizza bread is amazing. The fruity tomato soup and all the main courses. Everything is super delicious. You can't decide at all. The service is always good too. The furnishings are comfortable. At the weekend we're going back to Wernigerode. Table is pre-booked. We are happy.

We were in Wernigerode for a few days and went out to eat there because of the good reviews. Our expectations were exceeded. Such a great, cozy restaurant. Such nice employees. Had to wait a very long time for our food. And we hadn't finished eating yet when people were already clearing away and asking if we were ready. Very cheeky. Never again.

We were there spontaneously on Friday when it opened at 5:30 p.m. The first question was whether we had reserved, which we said no. We were allowed to stay with the information that we had to be finished by 7 p.m. My mother asked for a specific table, but the question was ignored. It's a shame because my mother used to live there with her parents and siblings - it was a residential building back then. We ordered and the food and drinks came quickly and tasted good. The service was very good. However, it is very narrow there and the noise is therefore increased. Prices are reasonable.

This evening we had the last minute idea to go out for a really good meal again. Called La Collina and within an hour we had a table! The shop was buzzing, we received a very friendly welcome, and the restaurant staff were quick, hard-working, polite and extremely friendly. The food was cooked to perfection, lovingly prepared, hot and very tasty. Here the guest is actually a little king and is looked after with warm hospitality. Unfortunately we were only in Wernigerode for 2 days (as a short trip) and were very happy to have gotten a table. We were there on the evening of April 2nd and had a really good time! It was supposed to be dinner, the child was with us and there had to be fries. But mom and dad also wanted to eat something and it had to be something other than fries. ;-) By chance we drove past La Collina and there was a free parking space right in front of the door. The decision was quick and spontaneous! In! There was still a free table and the waiter was friendly and accommodating and showed us to our seat. The restaurant is really cozy! Thick, ancient beams, a low ceiling and everything made of wood. But everything was clean and well maintained. The service was very attentive and the food came quickly. It was very tasty! Pizza, grilled food, fries… everyone got what they liked and everyone was happy! We would love to come back again!

If you like half-timbered houses, you'll find the ambiance of this restaurant appealing. Some seats have corner benches, creating a cozy atmosphere. The food was good. For starters, I had vitello tonnato. Unfortunately, the slices of meat weren't completely coated with the cream, and the capers were dry. For main course, I had the grilled pork fillet with rosemary potatoes and grilled vegetables. Everything tasted quite good. Perhaps adding eggplant and/or zucchini to the vegetables would have been a good idea.

Wir haben sehr gut in der Pizzeria gegessen. Unsere Pizzen waren lecker und das Personal war gut organisiert. Das Lokal war gut gefüllt und das Essen kam trotzdem zeitig. Personal sehr freundlich. Reservierung ist am Wochenende sinnvoll, viele Leute wurden wieder weggeschickt, weil alles belegt. Preis-Leistung stimmt!

We went there spontaneously on a Friday evening and were able to get a spot cleared straight away. I had the pasta with salmon and there was literally so much salmon in it I would almost say 50/50 pasta/salmon. I didn't really like the consistency of the salmon but that's a matter of taste. They even made a small children's portion especially for our 1 year old! Really great!

I don't go to La Collina that often, but when I do, I really enjoy it.

Top food, top service, it couldn't be better

Very nice service. Food was fresh, hot and at the table quickly. We had pasta. The only problem is that we once had pasta aglio e olio with pepperoni. But it came with crabs. We returned it and also received a new one. Either the crabs were just collected out or they were cooked again in the same pan. Not acceptable for fish in an Algeria (unfortunately I'm allergic). Noodles were stingy and still tasted like fish. The waiter apologized, it wasn't his fault. In the end the plate remained full. We didn't want to wait for a new dish again because it wasn't particularly warm there. But the cold in restaurants and cafés seems to be a resin thing. Pasta and tomato sauce were great

This Italian is an insider tip. We had Bruschetta classica and then Spaghetti Carbonara and Combinazione Wunderplatte. The food was very tasty, freshly cooked and filling. The red wine is full-bodied and the Hasseröder is freshly tapped. It doesn't get any better. The service is excellent, even though we didn't make a reservation and the restaurant was fully booked, a nice table was found for us. The price-performance ratio is great and the ambience is very nice in a charming half-timbered house. If we are in the area again we would love to come back.

Very nice little restaurant with friendly staff. I really liked the Parma pizza. They didn't skimp on the rocket and the quality of the ham was very high.

We were here for lunch, the food was great, I had chicken in a white wine sauce and spaghetti that tasted really delicious. We then drove there a second time for dinner, just a 20-minute drive from our home. I had decided to try something different and my chicken ended up being very tasty again 😋 this time too. Got a table for 2 next to the counter on Sunday without a reservation. It was loud and busy there. The food was good. Starter and main course served quickly despite the full house. Service very friendly and attentive. Good value for money.
