Von der ersten Minute an haben wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Alles wurde freundlich erklärt. Kleine Snacks gab es vor dem bestellten Essen. Dieses war dann hervorragend. Sehr lecker. Der Service war freundlich und super nett. Das war bestimmt nicht unserer letzter Besuch, auch wenn die Anfahrt etwas länger war. Vielen lieben Dank für alles. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wir waren gestern spontan hier Essen und hatte Glück noch einen Platz zu bekommen. Die hausgemachten Vorspeisen waren ausgezeichnet und die regionale Ente saftig und und knusprig. Ein wirklich aufmerksamer und sehr freundlicher Service machte unseren Besuch perfekt. Wirklich lecker und sehr zu empfehlen.

Sehr gute Beratung vom Servicepersonal

Update April 2026: Service über jeden Zweifel erhaben, da wirklich sehr freundlich. Wartezeit in Ordnung, ca. 40 Minuten ab Eintreten und zeitnaher Bestellung bis zum Servieren der Hauptgerichte. Mit (kleinen) Kindern aufgrund der längeren Wartezeit nur bedingt zu empfehlen. Aber in Osterode als sterbende Stadt gibt's ja fast keine Kinder mehr ;-) Das Essen ist lecker; allerdings nicht so herausragend, dass der Aufpreis von 4-5 Euro pro Gericht im Vergleich zu anderen asiatischen Restaurants gerechtfertigt wäre. Von daher "nur noch" 4 Sterne anstatt 5 in meiner ersten Rezension. Update Ende. Ende Mai 2024 zum ersten Mal hier gegessen. Service vom Anfang bis Ende sehr freundlich und informativ. Essen angenehm scharf (gute Einweisung des Kellners in die verschiedenen Schärfe-Grade). Schön eingerichtet: nicht zu viel, nicht zu wenig Deko. Wir waren an einem Donnerstag hier. Im Laufe des Abends war jeder Tisch mindestens einmal belegt gewesen. Wir mussten etwas länger als andernorts üblich warten, haben aber zur Überbrückung als Gruß aus der Küche Krabbenchips bekommen. Das hat für die etwas längere Wartezeit entschädigt, die aber immer noch im Rahmen war. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Rundum zufrieden. Alles wird frisch und lecker zubereitet und die Fürsorge des Personals, besonders bei der ersten Einführung in die Speisekarte, war ein Träumchen. Gerne wieder!

Wir essen dort sehr gern. Man bekommt alle Dinge erklärt, uns schmeckt das Essen dort sehr gut. Es ist auch etwas besonderes, was man sich zu Hause nicht zubereiten kann oder mag. Es dauert etwas länger, weil alles frisch zubereitet wird. Das zeigt sich auch im Geschmack

Nette deutsche Inhaber, die thailändische Gerichte anbieten (wir hatten Thais vemutet). Man wird gut beraten, was die Speisen und die Schärfegrade angeht. Das Essen ist schmackhaft, die Portionen sind ok - beides könnte ein wenig "Upgrade" vertragen. Das Ambiente ist schlicht, aber angenehm. Die typischen Dekoartikel geben den Räumen ein gewisses asiatisches Flair. Die Preisgestaltung ist fair. Es gibt sicher authentischere Thai-Restaurants, aber dies ist schon mal einen Besuch wert.

Ein wirklich angenehmes Lokal. Das Personal ist erstklassig. Da ich kein Deutsch spreche, wurde ich auf Englisch bedient, und das war fantastisch. Wir wurden sehr aufmerksam bedient, uns wurde die Speisekarte erklärt, und der Kellner war freundlich und sehr kompetent. Das Essen ist köstlich; ich empfehle unbedingt den Litschi-Saft, das thailändische Bier und das Kokoswasser. 🔥

Da Essen vor Ort war hervorragend. Der Service Klasse. 10/10 Sterne und immer wieder gerne. Wichtiger Hinweis: Hunde sind im Restaurant nicht erlaubt.

Das Personal ist so freundlich das man denkt man ist bei Freunden. Man bekommt als erstes eine kleine Einweisung in die Speisekarte...toll. So ein Service haben wir seit Jahren nicht mehr erleben dürfen. Und dann kommt das Essen. Whow, wir waren richtig zufrieden. Das Essen auf schönem Geschirr, sehr schön angerichtet, alles frisch zubereitet und sehr, sehr lecker. Hier stimmt einfach alles. Wir haben sofort erneut reserviert.

Wir waren am Wochenende zu Besuch im Harz und Abends im Restaurant Kho Chang essen. Dieser Abend wird lange in positiver Erinnerung bleiben. Das Essen war sensationell, der Service Erstklassig und das Ambiente zum wohlfühlen. Was will man mehr? Und für alle die Ihre Brille vergessen, dort gibt es sogar einen Brillenservice. Wir waren gestern zum Essen da mit mehreren Personen und bin noch immer begeistert. Schon beim Ankommen wurden wir unglaublich herzlich empfangen – die Bedienung war super nett, aufmerksam und mit echter Gastfreundschaft. Man fühlt sich dort sofort wohl. Das Essen war einfach hervorragend. Ich habe schon sehr lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen. Jedes Gericht war außergewöhnlich, frisch und mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Die Soßen waren exotisch, perfekt abgeschmeckt und haben die Gerichte wunderbar abgerundet. Und der Nachtisch – mein Gott – der war unglaublich lecker und hat das Erlebnis perfekt gemacht. Fazit: Service top, Essen top, ein ganz tolles Restaurant, das ich absolut weiterempfehlen kann.

Alle 4 Personen waren von dem Service, der Karte und den dazugehoerigen Erklaerungen der Servicekraft ( 1a ) sowie dem Essen sehr begeistert. Es wurse auch einmal von der Karte abweichend bestellt. Auch super. Da fahren wir jetzt jedes Mal hin, wenn es in den Harz geht. Preise sind auch fair fuer die Qualitaet und Menge die serviert wird.

Erster Besuch beim häufig empfohlenen Thailändischen Restaurant in Osterode. Von der Reservierung, über den Empfang und den durchgängigen Service ein absolut tolles Erlebnis! Preis/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt.. Die Gerichte werden frisch zubereitet und von daher sollte man sich auf ein wenig Wartezeit von der Bestellung bis zum Essen einstellen. Der Vorspeisen Teller war sehr umfangreich und es reicht auch eine Portion für zwei. Wer nur mit normalen Hungergefühl anreist, der ist auch mit der Hauptspeise ausreichend versorgt, denn alle Speisen haben einen großen Umfang. Die thailändischen Bier Spezialitäten sich sehr milden und eignen sich gut zu den angebotenen Speisen. Wer sich unsicher ist was er essen möchte, der sollte sich beraten lassen. Der Service war hervorragend! Tolle und werschätzende Beratung. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Very authentic Thai restaurant with top products and very friendly advice/service.

The food is simply excellent and true to the original cuisine. The staff is friendly, can provide information about everything, and always has a quick joke ready. All requests were met without any problems, and the menu is not overly extensive. Highly recommended!

We stumbled upon this place quite by chance after a hike in the Harz Mountains and were lucky that there were still seats available on Sunday evening. The restaurant is very popular and has many regulars who are willing to travel long distances. We have rarely experienced such friendly and excellent service. The specialties of Thai cuisine are explained to new guests, making it easy to navigate the small but delicious menu. The restaurant is now on our wishlist for our next visit to the Harz Mountains.

We spontaneously stopped by on a Saturday at 5:30 p.m.... very pleasantly surprised 😊❤️ It tastes authentic, just like in Thailand. I'm so happy to have it nearby. A wonderful little Thailand escape. Thank you so much! Highly recommended ✨️✨️✨️✨️ We'll be back.

This was our first time at Koh Chang, and the food was incredibly delicious 😋. The service is excellent, and the chef is fantastic. We'd love to come back.

We came here for dinner with eight people from our sports group. The welcome was super friendly, with brief information about the dishes and a great sense of humor. Everything is freshly prepared, which naturally takes time. But the wait is worth it. The food is hot, very well seasoned, and there's plenty of it. If you have a larger appetite, a starter is sure to satisfy your appetite. They also make sure you can always order more drinks. Highly recommended.

I recently went there for the first time and would love to go back anytime. Unfortunately, my assignment in the area is ending, so I won't be there for a while. The staff are polite and the ambiance is pleasant. The food was very tasty and the spice was just right. The portions were a decent size.

Even after years, it's always good. I've never tried as many dishes from the menu in any other restaurant as I have here, and I haven't been disappointed once. Well done, Koh Chang. How lucky that this restaurant exists in Osterode. The two of us ate there and were really impressed. The starters - soup, spring rolls and the delicious papaya salad... a stunner. If you want friendly, courteous and authentic service and also want to eat delicious Thai food, this is the right place for you.

Good Thai cuisine can generally be found in large cities, but the best is not in Hamburg or Frankfurt, but in Osterode am Harz. Excellent cuisine, the duck hoisin is fantastic.

Everything really fits! We eat at this restaurant regularly and can say that the quality of the dishes is always consistently high. The level of spiciness can be easily adjusted based on personal preference. This also fulfills my desire for extreme sharpness very well. The service is very friendly, always trying hard, with a lot of background knowledge about the contents of the individual dishes.

Be sure to reserve, the seats are in demand, and for good reason: You enter a delicate fusion flair, tidy but cozy. Unobtrusive Thai decorations in previously typically German half-timbered guest rooms. Friendly service begins with small talk as a greeting and extends to excellent, comprehensive advice on the menu, with Thai radio playing quietly in the background. The selection of drinks offers the usual classic soft drinks but also Thai thirst quenchers such as Chang beer or blue butterfly pea flower tea. And the starters are already excellent: Whether soup, satay, trigon or handmade spring rolls, everything was delicious, beautifully presented and, above all, absolutely freshly prepared, with crisp salad and fruity sauces - real amuse-gueules at the start of a successful dinner. The main courses are also prepared à la minute using fresh, sometimes regional ingredients, so you should take some time with you, but the wait is worth it. It's also worth following the recommendations of the friendly staff, European hot is quite fiery and you can also sharpen it up with chili paste or seasoning powder. The dishes range from vegan to vegetarian, pescatarian to omnivorous, from mild to sweat-inducingly hot, are very varied and always full of deliciously combined, fresh flavors. This was our first time in Koh Chang and my wife and I absolutely loved it. Very nice ambience, great service (if you wish you can get the menu, the combination of spiciness levels and everything else you would like to know about the dishes explained very nicely) and everything we ordered was super tasty and authentically Thai. My wife is Thai and should know ;-) We will definitely come back!!!

The food was good...for the two stars. Everything else was less than average. Here you have service like at a kiosk. You only see the service at the table when you first order. If you want something, such as another drink/dessert or the bill, you go to SERVICE...and then you are very reluctant to comply with your request. If you want to order something here, we only recommend to-go.

We come from Recklinghausen, but we are often in the Harz Mountains because our son lives here. We already know the restaurant from the other locations where it used to be. It's always worth it for us to come here. Since the food is freshly prepared, you have to wait a little longer, but it's always worth it. Not only is the food excellent here, there are also delicious drinks. The service is super friendly and attentive. For us there was nothing to complain about.

The food and service were top, it's freshly made and when you're there for the first time you get a little introduction to the topic. I only give deductions because it is not possible to get a table there without a reservation and because it is very loud because the restaurant was very full. Nevertheless, I would like to come back, I ate spicy Thai, but you should be aware that it is not for the faint of heart!

This was my second time there and it was delicious again! The service is very friendly and accommodating, the food is freshly prepared, and you can order rice free of charge if you wish. It is also advisable to book a table during the week. The only problem was our place, which was drafty. Gladly again!

Essen ist sehr lecker, es gibt auch viele vegetarische Gerichte, die Ente ist aus der Region👍sehr lobenswert. Man schmeckt, das die Gemüsevariationen frisch zubereitet werden. Der Service ist super nett, ein Besuch ist zu empfehlen. Wir sind inzwischen sehr zufriedene Stammgäste.

Das KohChang bietet wirklich tolle frische thailändische Küche. Sehr zu empfehlen sind die Currys mit der knusprigen Ente (ich habe noch nie so gute Ente gegessen (wird bei einem Bauern in Osterode eingekauft)). Aber auch sehr viele vegetarische Varianten sind auf der Karte zu finden. Zur Sommerzeit gibt es auch eine kleine Terrasse. Parkplätze sind ein paar vorhanden. Der Service ist super. Preis-Leistung ist mehr als passend. Einen Tisch sollte man vorab reservieren. Immer wieder ein Garant für einen leckeren und gemütlichen Abend.
