One of the top restaurants in Solingen. The beer garden is fantastic. The food is very creative and delicious. I'll be back.

We were there with a group of 12 people. The selection and the food impressed everyone – both in terms of quality and quantity. The staff was delightfully dedicated and courteous (where do you find that these days?), and the ambiance was very pleasant. We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

A beautiful ambiance in the old town hall, a great beer garden, and creative, high-quality cuisine. Despite the busy times with large crowds, the waiters were always attentive to our requests and were always friendly, attentive, and professional! Absolutely fair value for money thanks to the high-quality ingredients! For me, one of the best restaurants in Solingen!

After several years, we wanted to give our old favorite restaurant another try: unfortunately, it was in vain. First, the positives: the staff is friendly, and the outdoor ambiance is very appealing. Unfortunately, a number of negative factors tarnish the overall picture: - Extremely few main courses on the menu - Mostly very simple dishes (Lummer, schnitzel, steak, and burgers...) - Prices always at the upper end of the usual range (€25-40 for a main course, €8.50 for an Aperol...) - Not nicely set up - Aperol glass half full with lots of ice - Portion size without an appetizer is definitely not enough to fill you up - Card payments are only possible inside at the cash register - Water in the restroom is freezing cold None of these are disasters in themselves, and the taste is nothing to complain about. However, it still leaves a bitter aftertaste to be asked to pay a lot and at the same time not receive even a hint of the service that would be expected at that price level.

Great location in Solingen. Slightly hidden away in an old, venerable building, you'll find the Junkbrunnen. A green oasis for fine dining, the likes of which are rare in this city. A wonderful beer garden surrounded by mature trees. The interior is tastefully adapted to the diet of the old core. Top-notch cuisine and excellent service complete the picture. Excellent value for money, as you get top quality for which you would pay significantly more in other cities. The young owner couple, coupled with the young and professional service, ensure a wonderful evening that calls for a repeat.

A truly upscale gourmet restaurant. Prepared with love, the food is a true delight. I especially recommend the onion soup, which can be shared between two people—a real treat. All the dishes that evening were worthy of a Michelin-starred restaurant, and I consider this wonderful restaurant the best I've visited in recent years. I would give it 6 stars.

A Visit Between Dream and Reality Until this morning, the "Junkbrunnen" restaurant in Solingen was completely unknown to me, but then I received a tip that they serve exceptionally good, original "Wiener Schnitzel." In the following review, I'll only address why I didn't give it a 5-star rating. First of all: Anyone looking for good food and willing to pay a few euros more for good ingredients is certainly in good hands at Junkbrunnen. But let's start from the beginning: After the tip, I took a look at the menu online, which reads like a culinary manifesto. The owners repeatedly point out that each dish is supposed to have a signature twist; perhaps my expectations were too high, and I would simply have to choose something other than a Wiener Schnitzel. After examining the menu, I sent a booking request for this evening and promptly received a reply offering me a table at the counter. On raised, well-cushioned bar stools at equally raised bar tables. I said yes! Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted very warmly and politely and escorted to our table. The ambiance is beautiful, harmonious, and high-quality. After a quick look at the menu, I ordered Vitello Tonnato as a starter and the Wiener Schnitzel as a main course. The drinks were all very good, and the hand-mixed drinks are especially recommended! After ordering, a bread basket with baguette slices and herb cream arrived. The taste was okay, but not a standout. The Vitello Tonnato was also okay, but the description on the menu somehow read much better than the look, feel, and taste. I wouldn't order it again. The Wiener Schnitzel actually ended up being two schnitzels, which were very well pounded and deliciously soufred with a tasty breading. I can't confirm that it was exceptionally good, but it was solid and good. Somehow, the fries were completely out of place with the dish and the restaurant's character. It just didn't seem right. Perhaps the inexpensive fries ultimately kept the meal under €30, but that was far too uncreative for me. If the fries had been homemade, I might have found it okay. It's also worth mentioning that homemade mayonnaise was charged extra, but it was necessary to make the fries a bit "smoother." The fresh salad bouquet with a very tasty homemade dressing deserves a special mention. The service was always friendly, attentive, and unobtrusive! Regarding seating, all I can say is that the counter area is a no-go. Especially for a restaurant in this price range, the tables near the counter are far too loud and noisy. The constant rattling of bottles, the banging of refrigerators, and the hectic activity, as well as the clatter of plates and dishes, made the visit stressful and made a pleasant and quiet conversation almost impossible. To be fair, I noticed that the waiter had pointed these points out to the customer when making a reservation that evening. Since I only communicated via email, the table selection certainly couldn't have been explained to me as clearly as it would have been over the phone. All in all, a solid meal at a higher price point. I will definitely return to try another dish from the menu, which, based on the description, sounds interesting and very, very delicious. For today's visit, I missed the brothers' announcement from their website. I didn't experience or taste any culinary highlights, so unfortunately, "only" a solid 4 stars.

The restaurant is conveniently located, but just the walk from the parking lot to the entrance dampens your anticipation: the area looks unkempt and uninviting. There is an urgent need for improvement here, because the first impression counts - and unfortunately it was negative. The service at the table was friendly, which made the start pleasant. However, other employees who walked past the table could have at least said a friendly “Hello”. Instead, people seemed rather disgruntled at times - not a detail that will be remembered positively. The menu is small but well chosen; the dishes sound appealing. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio doesn't fit. As regular guests in very good restaurants, we are used to spending €150 to €200 for dinner if the quality is right. Here, however, the performance clearly lagged behind the price. My truffle pasta with slices of rump steak cost a whopping €45 - a price that I rarely pay even for similar dishes with fillet in top restaurants. There was also a bit too much salt, bordering on edible, but overall it tasted pretty good. Noticeable: The portion at the next table was significantly larger. Uniformity should be a given here. Without the additional portions of meat I ordered, I would hardly have been full. The meat was cooked well, but not as tender as you would expect for this price. My husband's dish - roast beef for almost €40 - was tasty in terms of taste, but also simply overpriced. However, the sauce was exorbitantly good and the mashed potatoes were also very tasty. But it is and remains only roast beef, quite a small portion and unfortunately quite firm to the bite. Unfortunately, the dessert continued the trend: the portion was small, the taste disappointing - it seemed like a finished product and didn't convey the freshness and sophistication that you would expect for this price. The bread and spread that was served was very tasty – a small bright spot in the overall experience. Conclusion: The restaurant generally offers a nice ambience and an attractive menu, but fails because the prices are too high. If prices were 10-20% lower, we would certainly come more often, because then what was offered would be in a much better relationship to expectations.

The food is TOP, as parents of small children we only have the huge problem that we would like to order after 8 p.m. and unfortunately that is not possible. Absolutely bitter because we simply can't manage bedtime beforehand. Therefore, unfortunately only 3 stars because it is unfortunately quite inflexible if you are open until 10 p.m.

Es ist immer wieder ein Genuss, diese mit bester Küche und grandiosem Service bestückte Location zu besuchen. Die Vorspeisen - Hauptspeisen - Desserts lassen schon vorab ahnen, was geboten wird. Der Internetauftritt ist sehr aussagekräftig. Eine Topadresse im Bergischen Dreieck. Der Erfolg dieses jungen Restaurants wird nicht ausbleiben. Gemütlich ist es auch noch !!

We had a wonderful evening in the Junkbrunnen restaurant! We tried out the menu with four people and were thrilled from start to finish. The starters were a real treat – freshly prepared and tasted excellent. The main courses also exceeded our expectations. Each of us chose something different, and we agreed that everything was simply delicious! The crowning glory was dessert. We would particularly like to emphasize the friendly service. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely come back and can only warmly recommend the Jungbrunnen restaurant!

I was briefly overwhelmed when looking at the menu because there were so many unusual, great dishes that interested me. In the end it was the edamame gyoza as a starter, the peanut curry chicken as the main course and the tiramisu as dessert. All the dishes were totally different and incredibly tasty. I have rarely eaten so consistently well. The ambience is like a chic modern brewery if you ask me. A mini star deduction because it was packed and therefore a bit loud. Which in turn speaks for the restaurant, as in demand as they apparently are. I will definitely come back and try out more on the menu :) I immediately recommended it to friends and colleagues.

Under strange circumstances I had the pleasure of dining here. The restaurant is completely hidden but quiet and cozy on the grounds of the art museum. Super friendly and humorous service accompanies you through the evening even if you're not in a great mood. The menu leaves almost nothing to be desired and the kitchen almost does magic 😍 From ordering to drinks or even eating at the table, time flies very quickly and you can enjoy the art on the plate even longer. Therefore, all thumbs up and “KEEP IT UP” and again at any time.

We are really lucky, the wonderful restaurant is not far from our home. So we try to enjoy a meal in the Junkbrunnen restaurant as often as possible and as much as our wallet allows! We are always absolutely delighted with how friendly, attentive and accommodating the entire Junkbrunnen team is!! The dishes are all delicious, there is something for every palate. A highlight when the weather is nice is the large beer garden! We can absolutely recommend this restaurant 💯!

Meine im Restaurant Junkbrunnen verbindlich reservierte Geburtstagsfeier mit mindestens 20 Gästen, teils aus München anreisend, wurde leider einige Wochen vor dem Termin abgesagt - das Restaurant werde an dem vorgesehenen Wochenende komplett schließen. Begründung: Der Beikoch habe gekündigt (fragt sich, warum), und der Chef selbst könne aus familiären Gründen nicht an die Töpfe. Lapidar per Email mitgeteilt, traf mich die Absage wie ein Schlag: Die gesamte Organisation (gedruckte Einladungskarten, Hotelbuchung in der Nähe, Anfahrt der Gäste) war hinfällig geworden. Fazit: In diesem Restaurant werde ich sicher nicht mehr buchen.

Nice restaurant under the blade museum in Solingen Gräfrath. The food was very tasty and the plates were well filled. Unfortunately, what was a bit lacking was the dessert. I ordered two scoops of ice cream. The ice cream scoops were simply served in a glass bowl. The starter and main course were excellently prepared. That's why I was a little disappointed with the ice cream. Employees very nice. Very nice, large outdoor area, with lots of tables and chairs. Toilets tip top fine. There is also a barrier-free toilet with an electronic door opener. Toilets are also accessible from outside.

We are very enthusiastic about the creativity of the chefs and the quality of the food as well as the exceptionally good and cheerful service. Why aren't we here much more often? That needs to change!

For me one of the best addresses in Solingen. Always top quality, the daily specials are also very varied. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right. I actually still wish I had lunch back, but I can understand that the capacity utilization has also changed due to the Corona times.

Wir gehen schon seit Jahren in dieses Restaurant und sind seit Jahren unverändert überzeugt. Sowohl von dem Essen als auch von der Freundlichkeit der Kellner! Auch die Speisekarte verändert sich zwischendurch wodurch es immer neue Möglichkeiten gibt. Wenn es nicht zu voll ist sind die Kellner auch für viele Späße und Gespräche zu haben. Aufjedenfall immer eine Empfehlung wert!

Wir hatten unsere Weihnachtsfeier dort, wir haben uns sehr auf dieses Restaurant gefreut, da die Bewertungen sehr gut waren. Leider war das Essen nicht sehr gut, ich hatte das Filetsteak mit Pommes , das Fleischstück war schon sehr klein als es kam . Ich würde schätzen 150gramm . Dann war alles komplett versalzen. Ich habe wirklich ein Stück gegessen und einem Mitarbeiter probieren lasse, er bestätigte das , dass Essen versalzen war. Habe es auch reklamiert, wo leider nur gesagt wurde , wir würzen immer sehr stark. Bei vielen waren die Pommes versalzen , bei einigen war das Essen auch sehr gut. Ich würde nicht nochmal hingehen, da dass Essen einfach nicht gut war . Die Burger wurden von den anderen als gut bezeichnet. Ich kann daher nur einen Stern geben , hätte fürs Essen auch 0 gegeben , wenn es möglich gewesen wäre . Der Service war sehr nett und zuvorkommend , aber die Reklamation wurde nicht erst genommen, daher nur 3 Sterne

Wir hatten einen ganz tollen Abend. Angefangen bei der super sympathischen Bedienung, über das hervorragende Essen und einem sehr schönen Ambiente, war alles wirklich mehr als perfekt. Wir haben selten sooooo gut gegessen. Die Qualität ist wirklich hervorragend. Hier sind Profis am Werk mit absoluter Leidenschaft! Empfehlung von Herzen!

Wir hatten Gyoza Teigtaschen als Vorspeise, was einen erstaunlichen Geschmack hatte. Die Hauptspeise war auch sehr zufriedenstellend. Junkbrunnen hat mal wieder bewiesen, dass es einer der wenigen Lokale ist, das nicht nur die deutsche Küche beherrscht, sondern auch gerne mal experimentiert und das mit großem Erfolg. Auch die Bedinung war sehr sehr freundlich und hat immer sicher gestellt, dass wir versorgt waren. Im großen ganzen, Top Lokal!

Wir kennen das Restaurant mit seinem guten Essen. Leider haben wir heute eine „skurrile“ Situation erlebt: Anruf um 19:40, ob wir für zwei Personen um 20:00 essen könnten. Antwort des Mitarbeiters: Küche ist zu, Köche sind weg, da keine Reservierungen mehr vorlägen. Was bringt die Angabe im Internet, dass das Lokal bis 22:00 geöffnet ist, wenn die Küche beschließt, um 19:40 bereits zu zumachen … spontan essen gehen ist um diese - normale - Uhrzeit anscheinend nicht möglich. Schade. So verliert ein Restaurant vielleicht Gäste.

Wir waren schon öfters im Junkbrunnen und es war immer sehr gut. Unser Highlight war allerdings Mitte Oktober. Nochmals vielen Dank an das gesamte Junkbrunnen-Team für unser großartiges Hochzeits-Menü. Ihr habt einen bleibenden Eindruck hinterlassen. Es wurde noch Tage später davon geschwärmt.

Wir waren nun schon des Öfteren hier essen, haben es auch schon einigen Freunden empfohlen und alle sind begeistert. Das Ambiente im Restaurant sehr schön, mit viel Liebe zum Detail aber auch nicht zu gehoben, in meinen Augen. Der Service ist immer freundlichen, offen, kommunikativ, man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Das Essen ist hier schon etwas außer gewöhnlicher aber gerade das macht den Junkbrunnen aus. Auch Vegetarier kommen hier nicht zu kurz, es ist für alle etwas dabei. Wir freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Besuch :)

Nach längerer Pause waren wir wieder einmal im Junkbrunnen und haben mit Freunden einen netten Abend verbracht. Wir wurden durch das nette Ambiente überrascht. Das Essen war super lecker und der Service sehr freundlich.

Ein gutes Restaurant mit ausgefallenen Getränken und guter Küche. Leider konnten wir nicht in den Biergarten, das Wetter hat nicht mitgespielt. Aber auch im Restaurant passt das Ambiente.

Ich war als Fotograf, auf einer Hochzeit welche ich begleitet habe gebucht. Die Hochzeitsfeier fand dort statt und ich bin in den Genuss gekommen, etwas von der tollen Karte essen zu können. Ich muss sagen absolut TOP !! Besonders das "Hausmarke" Salatdressing war MEGA! Das Personal war hoch motiviert und sehr nett. Alles in allem ... ein tolles Restaurant

Gestern wieder im Junkbrunnen gewesen. Wieder hervorragend gegessen. 4 x Wiener Schnitzel für uns 😉 Aber da es einfach unglaublich lecker ist, wollten wir alle dieses Gericht. Kleine Änderungswünsche bei den Beilagen sind hier problemlos möglich. Die Salatsauce des Beilagensalates ist übrigens mega 👍 Ambiente ( wir konnten gestern draußen sitzen) und Personal prima. Was will man mehr?
