Phenomenal dinning experience. The restaurant start service at 19:00 sharp. The area where it’s located isn’t the most interesting but from the moment you go through the doors it’s an entirely different experience. The service is very courteous and attentive. At all times they will take care of you and ensure your comfort. The food is creative but never goes into excessive or overly experimental territories, the flavors are well balanced, and the wine pairing is perfectly tailored to go along. The restaurant offers only a set tasting menu but will accommodate allergies and intolerances. They need to be informed at least 48 hours in advance. It’s a rather pricey experience but the cost is not really different from what you can expect at a 3 Michelin stars restaurant.

I would like to be able to give Jan Hartwig and his team more stars. Overall it was a unique experience and I felt comfortable throughout. The food was great: varied and we were always surprised by the sauces. I have never eaten so creatively and consistently very well. The wine list is clear, but very great wines. The team was courteous and in a very good mood, so the evening was really fun. I will definitely come back.

Among the 13 3-star restaurants I visited in the summer of 2023, this place was in the top three. Familiar ingredients, but with unexpected combinations and attempts, each dish is a Beautiful Surprise! It had a decidedly more casual atmosphere than Atelier, so I thought, 'Is this what the chef wanted to do?' I was curious. But no matter what, the chef's respect showed that the most important thing in a restaurant is the cooking! The staff also flows smoothly in an atmosphere that is not overly formal. Flexible service doubles the pleasure of dining. See you again, Team Yan! It was ‘one of the best 3’ of 13 michelin 3 star restaurants I had visited this summer. Very familiar ingredients, but with beyond-expectation mix and challenge, every dish was full of beautiful surprise! Compared to Atelier, definitely casual atmosphere. Curious about ‘this is the one chef really wants to make?’ Anyway the only thing I want to emphasize is ‘the most important thing in the restaurant is cuisine itself’ He showed it 100%. Give all my respect! For the staff, without exaggerated formality, services were very smooth in all aspects and it doubled our dining satisfaction. Looking forward to seeing you soon, team Jan!

Absolutely phenomenal. The food was delicious, unique and gorgeous, the wine was incredible, and the staff were the absolute best. They were friendly, attentive, warm and even took the time to write us recommendations for our next city. Hanna was especially helpful and communicative via email when making and adjusting our reservations. We so appreciated how they gave us a special dessert to help us celebrate our honeymoon. A special thank you goes to the kitchen team for their creativity. My allergy problems to some foods were taken into account and replaced with some newly created dishes. We would love to come back.

I was there in February. It was the first of 5 gourmet temples this year and by far the best. The investment is worth it here and people talk about these delicacies for a long time. One taste explosion follows the next. The service is not over-stretched and not too relaxed - very professional. The boss shows interest in the customers and they want to ensure that the guest receives top service. And that was completely successful. I don't think the atmosphere of the restaurant itself is warm, the design isn't very special and I don't find the personal touch - but that's a matter of taste and, as you know, tastes are different. The only reason for us to travel to Munich was to visit Jan Hartwig. Last Friday, the five of us were able to enjoy the large menu at lunchtime. Of course, with Mr. Hartwig's reputation and the 3 Michelin stars, you go to the restaurant with certain expectations, it was fascinating how playfully these expectations were exceeded. Not only the outstanding performance of the kitchen should be highlighted here, but also the service, which was convincing with an ease that is rarely experienced in this segment. A must visit for every foodie who is in Munich. Thank you and keep it up, we will come back at the next opportunity.

Three of us had my birthday lunch here in late September. We each had the 7 course menu with wine pairings. The food was excellently prepared and beautifully presented. Staff were attentive and friendly. They even provided me with a small birthday cake treat with candle at the end. It was by far the most expensive restaurant I've ever eaten at, but you have to expect that at 3 Michelin star level. Lovely way to spend my birthday.

I was somewhat underwhelmed by the ambiance of the restaurant when I first stepped inside. It is a very nice space but is without the bells and whistles like some other places that I have been to during this trip to Germany. But I soon found out why this place is the only 3-star in Munich. The food totally blew me away. The menu and amount of food is similar to a French 3-Michelin-star, aka there is a lot of insanely delicious food but with a distinctive Bavarian flair. Chef Jan definitely elevates every single dish. My favorites of the evening were the char, the oyster, the sweet bread, and the pear dessert. We were pleasantly stuffed at the end of the night. The sommelier helped us pick out a delicious German Riesling as well. I really love dining at Jan and would come back in a heartbeat when I am in Munich again. Update: this is the best meal that I had during my first trip to Germany. 🇩🇪

The food was incredible, and the dishes were beautifully presented during my lunch on 27th September. The culinary experience exceeded expectations, with meticulous attention to detail in the plating that truly reflected the Michelin-star quality we were expecting. However, there was an issue regarding the purchase of an umbrella. One staff member informed us it was complimentary, but we were later charged €50 by another. This inconsistency was disappointing, particularly given the high standards your restaurant upholds. I understand misunderstandings can happen, but I hope this matter can be reviewed, as it left an unfortunate impression after an otherwise excellent experience.

My last day in Munich starts at midday in Jan Hartwig's three-Michelin-starred restaurant JAN. I'm in pole position in terms of space and sit opposite the pass, where I can watch Jan and his team perfectly as they serve up the outstanding interpretation of German home cuisine in the "Labor of Love". One of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful afternoon of my life so far, the team that looked after us (me, my husband and a Turkish friend) ('served' is really NOT the right wording here...) was warm-hearted and humorous, technically perfect and ' visually' (I don't often meet women who are beautiful AND friendly...!) wonderful... The menu as well as the wine pairing? I can hardly remember the fantastic atmosphere (but I was later told it was 'out of this world'...😂) and the loving attention of the people who looked after us and cooked for us ('laboratory of love' - yes, that's actually true …) I would especially like to thank you for the card and the surprise (I actually didn't open it until the next day!) and a warm greeting to the lady of the house for choosing the musical accompaniment to the meal - music was exactly my taste, loud enough to listen (and enjoy), quiet enough not to drown out our conversations... Were there again a few weeks ago and have known Mr. Hartwig's kitchen from his studio for years. The service was excellent as always. The kitchen was also very good, only the patisserie did not meet our expectations. Overall, a nice evening, except for Mr. Hartwig's lack of critical ability regarding the patisserie. He then came to the table and made a loud fuss, which you couldn't do anything about as every word was twisted in your mouth. We have never experienced anything like this in any restaurant, let alone a star restaurant. These probably went to the boss's head. So if you have criticism, it's best to keep your mouth shut and don't come back or just accept it!

The menu at Jan is a true masterpiece of culinary art. Each dish is a carefully composed creation that impresses with the highest quality and creativity. A special highlight of the evening was the glazed sweetbreads, which impressed with its delicate texture and intense taste. The pork cheek “La Chinoise 2.0” with XO sauce and 80-year-old rice wine was also a delight, impressing with the perfect balance of flavors. Another notable dish was the JACAN pigeon, accompanied by kohlrabi, black garlic, anchovies, vadouvan and cherry blossom. The pigeon was perfectly cooked and went well with the sophisticated side dishes. The MANGITSCH, a dish with mature mountain cheese, was also a culinary experience that impressed with the combination of melted cheese, horseradish and verjuice sauce. Particularly noteworthy is Jan's dessert selection. The MIEZE SCHINDLER SORBET with Tahitian vanilla, pisachios, long pepper and raspberries was a refreshing end to the menu. The creative and artfully presented petit fours, including profiterole, lemon & basil, and Pina Colada, pineapple & coconut, rounded off the experience perfectly. The service in Restaurant Jan is remarkable. The employees are not only extremely professional and well trained, but also extremely friendly and courteous. They are always available to provide competent recommendations and ensure that guests don't miss anything. The wine pairing was excellent and complemented the food perfectly. The Restaurant Jan offers a top-class culinary experience in Munich. The combination of exquisite cuisine, first-class service and a pleasant atmosphere makes every visit a special event. It was simply wonderful! My husband and I had a very nice afternoon with you on Wednesday The food was absolutely wonderful. Of the six three-star restaurants, definitely in the top three, if not two ❤️ What we also really liked was that special requests were skilfully addressed and the meat-free dish often came across as a little sister to the meat dish, making it easy to compare/chat about the food. Unfortunately, we sat next to the counter, which caused a bit of unrest and somehow there was always a hustle and bustle around us, which I found to be a bit stressful. But I don't think there's much you can do about it because the room already dictates that ❤️ I would have been happy with such a small pocket chair. The hook thing didn't work for my bag and I didn't want to put it next to the drinks for fear of water stains or something similar. But otherwise everything was great and we will definitely come back next time!

It’s obvious that they take pride in their dishes. Visually they were all perfect. I didn’t care for a few of the dishes but that I think is more personal preference. There were three issues I had with the service. First, our first sixty percent of the courses were served right on top of each other. I think we finished them in less than an hour. The remaining courses took three hours. It was painfully slow. Secondly, I opted to have a few wines by the glass instead of the tasting menu. The wines were fine, although very small pours for the price. The issue was I sat there for the last hour and change with an empty glass while all the tables around us were being served and no one came to us to ask if we wanted more. This is also the same for our water. I think it was about 45 minutes we had empty water glasses. Lastly, after four hours and finally getting and paying the check, while we were waiting for them to “find” my wife’s jacket in the coat closet (for 10 minutes), they accused her of stealing a tea spoon off the table. This is ridiculous. She was appalled and so was I. They were vocally accusing her in front of other guests, which was quite embarrassing. Who would spend $800 on lunch and take an $8 spoon??? What a joke and an awful send off. This review wouldn’t have even been written if not for that. Although everything above is accurate.

Three-star restaurant, certainly. Impeccable service, very professional and knowledgeable about the food and wine offered. The small problem in my opinion is that the first appetizers and starters are too salty. The rest is extremely sophisticated and delicious. The wines accompany the dishes wonderfully. The homemade bread is excellent. Even if the portions are small, the classic tasting menu is very substantial and nighttime digestion was a little difficult. Last small downside, the interior decoration. Very sober, the relief paintings which punctuate the gallery are in a somewhat "firefighter" style and clash with the refinement supposed for a restaurant of this rank.

Food was okay, although not my preferred style because there was too much cream and whipped cream. The paid supplements were also promoted quite aggressively by the staff. At the end of the day, during the tour of the boss, his reaction to the remark that the morels tasted like burnt fat: "That can't be right, I made them myself", he turns away without any further reaction and goes to the next table. But he has 1300 € more for 2 pax. Then I mentally turn away and prefer to spend my money in the Eifel or in Baiersbronn or in Munich at Sigi's. Thanks.

The evening was a disappointment. It started with the wine being poured for my wife, even though she still had her champagne in her glass. The supposedly freshly caught sardine was caught. Possibly because of the very young audience, it was casual (no table linen) which doesn't please everyone. It's not acceptable that after pouring/spilling the water, the table was only cleaned after a vigorous request. Likewise after pouring/spilling the brownish umami broth, which tasted too much like Maggi. The bread that came with it It was served with a lot of brimborium, had a good crust, but was squishy on the inside, not juicy as advertised. The problem is that despite the hot plate, the food is sometimes too cold on the inside. Special requests are taken into account (e.g. we didn't want sweetbreads), the baked one The substitute egg was successful in itself, but the combination was boring. The saddle of venison, which we ordered instead of the pigeon, was so heavily seasoned that we had problems. Fortunately, the fact that a steak knife was served with it was excessive. Overall, a disappointing evening for us as we were spoiled in terms of taste and appearance on our first visit.

5 courses for lunch for 290 euros per person is quite an announcement. But you know that before you make a reservation - but your expectations are correspondingly high. Has it been fulfilled? The champagne had very little bubbles and this couldn't be explained to us well - a selected wine from the wine list wasn't even available at first. When explaining the Armagnac, the areas were a bit confused. The service was mostly great. Once we had to help when the next course was served, although the plates from the last course were still on our table. Apart from the piece of deer calf (it was too dry for me), the kitchen performance is outstanding and probably cannot be optimized further. Sensational and one taste explosion after the next. All in all, a truly heavenly experience for us with one or two small discrepancies (in relation to the overall price)

The food was consistently excellent - every course was perfect! The excellent service and the brilliant wine pairing rounded off the experience. We had a very nice evening. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether the whole thing is worth > EUR 1,000 for two people. One wish for improvement: I would like modern star cuisine to refrain from processing goose liver. It's no longer up to date - animal welfare should be the priority here!

Wow, finally surprising taste experiences again. We have been to many different star chefs, from 1 to 3 stars. But Mr. Hartwig and his team did a great job of making the dishes something special with their own unique style. Upon request, we had our own vegetarian menu created, which was really great and deserved to be called a menu. Unfortunately, I also know it differently. Everything was perfectly balanced, the sauces were outstanding! The service and communication in advance were just as perfect. We are simply thrilled and regret that we don't live near Munich.

Wir hatten einen sehr schön Abend beim Jan mit sehr vielen exzellenten Gerichten. Selten haben wir so viele Gerichte gehabt, die eine 10/10 wert waren. Die Weinauswahl war gut und hat fast immer hervorragend zu den Gerichten gepasst. Der Service war immer sehr nett und professionell. Preis/Leistung ist vollständig akzeptabel und das Jan gehört definitiv mindestens in die Top 3 in Deutschland. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung für besondere Anlässe.

Das Restaurant befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe zur U-Bahn Station Königsplatz, vom Marienplatz läuft man zu Fuß ca. 25 Minuten. Das Erdgeschoss eines historischen Gebäudes wurde aufwändig renoviert und setzt auf eine angenehme, gemütliche Atmosphäre. Keine Tischdecken oder Stuhlhussen, sondern runde Holztische und bequeme Stühle. Der Raum wird durch mehrere Durchgänge gegliedert, von unserem Tisch im hinteren Teil hatten wir einen perfekten Blick auf die offene Küche und den Pass. Im Hintergrund lief eine Playlist mit Musik aus den 80er Jahren, auch das sorgte für eine lässige, entspannte Atmosphäre. Der Service schafft den Spagat zwischen Professionalität und Lockerheit perfekt - in keinem Fine Dining Restaurant haben wir uns bisher so wohl gefühlt. Helene, die für unseren Tisch zuständig war, hat mit Humor und einem ansteckenden Lachen von Anfang den richtigen Akzent gesetzt und uns perfekt durch den Abend begleitet. Großes Kompliment an das Team, das war ganz großes Service-Kino! Ich hatte im Vorfeld um ein fleischloses Menü gebeten und bekam daher direkt eine entsprechend angepasste Speisekarte. Das Menü bestand aus 7 Gängen, unterbrochen von einem Brotgang, davor gab es mehrere Grüße aus der Küche und im Anschluss Petit Fours. Anders als in anderen Restaurants war jedes einzelne Gericht auf der Menükarte ausgewiesen, man wusste also genau was man vor sich hatte. Optional konnte man zusätzliche Gänge wählen, die sich entweder um Kaviar oder Trüffel drehten. Die Präsentation der einzelnen Gänge übernahmen die Köche selbst, was wir überaus sympathisch fanden. Die Küche arbeitete wie ein Uhrwerk, und war mit dem Service perfekt abgestimmt. Über dem Eingang zur Küche steht in großen Lettern „Labor der Liebe“, und selbige Liebe zum Produkt spürte man. Die einzelnen Gänge waren ausnahmslos hervorragend - kreativ, ohne bemüht „anders“ zu sein, mit einem Fokus auf Geschmack und Texturen. Insbesondere die Saucen waren zum Niederknien. Selbst eine einfache rote Beete wurde in ein Gericht verwandelt das geschmackliche Tiefe und Komplexität hatte, ohne das Produkt zu übertünchen. Zu guter letzt ist der Küchenchef von Tisch zu Tisch gegangen und hat sich ehrlich nach Feedback zu Küche, Service und Ambiente erkundigt. Auch das ein sehr sympathischer Zug, denn es wirkte nicht aufgesetzt sondern authentisch - es ging um einen offenen Austausch, nicht um Höflichkeiten. Natürlich bewegt sich das Restaurant in einer preislichen Liga die einen Besuch zu etwas Besonderem macht - der Menüpreis ist mit 320 Euro absolut angemessen in Anbetracht der aufwändigen Herstellung und hochwertigen Zutaten. Die volle Weinbegleitung lag bei 189 Euro, wir entschieden uns für eine leicht modifizierte Variante die glasweise abgerechnet wurde. Auch hier empfangen wir das Preisniveau als absolut angemessen. Insgesamt ein toller Abend - modernes Fine Dining ohne jegliche Steifheit, mit einem Fokus auf Geschmack und Genuss.

Luxuskantine mit Unterhaltungswert! Das Restaurant wird bei Michelin mit drei Sternen geführt und zählt zu Recht zu den besten Restaurants weltweit. Es wird ein 7-Gang Menü für derzeit 320 Euro geboten, das um signature/extension dishes ergänzt werden kann. Die sieben Gänge werden dekoriert mit einer Vielzahl an amuse-gueules, amuse-bouches, was man auch despektierlich Luxus-Fingerfood nennen könnte. Die Speisen sind hervorragend zubereitet und werden wie Kunstwerke präsentiert. Geschmacklich und optisch ist das auf höchstem Niveau und somit seinen Preis wert. Highlights waren der Schliersee Saibling, der Bouillon, das Senfei, die Jakobsmuschel und das Dessert. Das Personal ist immer präsent, ob im Service oder beim Blick in die offene Küche. Ob die Gäste oder die MitarbeiterInnen in der Mehrheit sind, ist schwer zu beantworten. Der Besuch ist Entertainment pur und nicht nur für den Gast bereichernd. Nachhaltig ist das sicherlich nicht, auch wenn hier alles gegessen wird, was auf den Tisch kommt. Das ist mein Kritikpunkt an dem 3-Sterne-Konzept. Der Gast wird als Konsum-Objekt bespaßt und entmündigt, da er weder die Anzahl der Gänge, noch die Art der Speisen bestimmen kann und auch das Menü nicht kennt. Das ist allerdings das Erfolgsrezept und es funktioniert für den Chef und die Gäste. Ich empfehle jedem, sich das Erlebnis nicht entgehen zu lassen und am Tag hinterher den Besuch eines „einfachen“ Sterne-Lokals😋😊

What a find in MUNICH! The interior is subdued but the food is outstanding. Service is very friendly and informative. We are from the USA and came here for a 75th birthday. It was a great celebration. I want to know of there is a cookbook so I could buy it for a present and a memento of a magical culinary adventure in Munich. It is expensive but what are birthdays. The staff gave my cousin a signed birthday card plus of course an additional sweet. We waddled out the door....lol. Of our 35 days in Europe....JAN, THE BMW MUSEUM, LE CHEVAL BLANC IN BASEL AND THE 4 SEASONS IN BUDAPEST WILL be memories frozen in our brain.

Das Ambiente war elegant und einladend, der Service super aufmerksam, höchst professionell, gleichzeitig herzlich. Die Musik war nicht zu laut, und der Abstand zwischen den Tischen in Ordnung. Das Beste, was ich persönlich bisher erlebt habe. Mein Essens-Highlight des Abends war zweifellos das Senf-Ei, ein Gericht, das mir auf ewig in Erinnerung bleiben wird. Einfach geil. Auch alle anderen Gerichte waren göttlich. Nicht perfekt für mich war der zum Menü gereichte Rotwein von Walter Schullian: 2020 Lacus (70 % Cabernet Franc – 30 % Merlot). Dieser war mir viel zu jung und schwer zugänglich. Eventuell hätte hier dekantieren ein wenig geholfen, aber trotzdem nach meiner Meinung nicht die beste Wahl. Wenn meine Freunde oder ich selbst mit diesem Budget kochen und Wein trinken, kann es passieren, dass der Geschmack des Essens oder der Duft des Weins mich zum Weinen bringt (vor Genuss 😊 ), das ist leider im JAN-Restaurant nicht passiert. Insgesamt war mein Mittagessen im JAN aber ein absolut besonderes Erlebnis, mein erstes Mal in einem 3-Sterne-Restaurant. Ich werde wiederkommen, sobald ich es mir leisten kann. Wenn es soweit ist, bringe ich meinen eigenen Wein mit, wenn das möglich ist (hab gar nicht mitbekommen und nicht daran gedacht zu fragen, ob es eine Weinkarte im Restaurant gibt).

THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE IS PHENOMENAL. My cousins 75th birthday was near and we celebrated by seeing Art and going to fine dining in 7 countries. THIS PLACE WON AS THE BEST HANDS DOWN EXPERIENCE for us. The meal is a curated experience. As one female staff memember put it...what makes JAN special...THE WHOLE TEAM. JAN has a cookbook out in December. I would suggest four things...1. Have a staff member cook independently every recipe in the book. 2. JAN must be on cover, TEAM ON BACK COVER. 3. HAVE SOME RECIPES REGULAR NON GIFTED FOOD GODS CAN MAKE and 4. Share an example of the birthday card they place on your table with Helen's handwriting and original signatures. JAN, your face in front of your place with 3 fingers is priceless. I asked Wolfgang Puck one time what was his greatest success. He said, I sadly make more money in two weeks on a shopping network than all year at all my eateries. Is that a good thing or a bad thing ...lol. I dont know JAN or staff personally but WE TRULY FELT AT HOME THERE. WE WILL HEAR MORE FROM THIS MUNICH MASTER. AS BMW IS TO CARS, JAN IS TO COOKING. Es hätte ein perfekter Abend werden können…. Meine Tochter und ich waren an ihrem Geburtstag bei Jan Hartwig zum Abendessen. Die Reservierungserinnerung samt nachfolgender Korrespondenz bzgl. Unverträglichkeiten etc. waren sehr freundlich und professionell. Am Abend selbst wurden wir sehr freundlich vom Service empfangen, an unseren Tisch gebracht und uns das auf uns zugeschnittene Menü (pescetarisch) erklärt. Am Tisch stand auch eine Karte mit Geburtstagswünschen vom ganzen Team. Die nette Dame vom Service reichte uns auch schon die Aperitif-Karte. Doch dann ging es leider nicht mehr ganz so schön weiter… Der Maître Kilian Skalet fragte uns kurz nach den Wünschen für den Aperitif und verschwand dann wieder. Der Aperitif wurde dann vom Service serviert und es ging auch schon mit dem Menü los. Gang nach Gang wurde serviert, schön erklärt und schon diese „Grüße“ waren jeder für sich ein Geschmackserlebnis. Herr Skalet reichte dann auch unseren Nachbarn die Weinkarte, uns ignorierte er gekonnt. Als auch allem Anschein nach noch Stammgäste im Restaurant erschienen, war er diesen sehr zugetan und kam in unsere Richtung gar nicht mehr. Der erste Gang des Menüs, der Saibling vom Schliersee, wurde serviert. Da wir zu diesem vorzüglichen (und für Jan Hartwig bekannten) Gang auch gerne einen passenden Wein genießen wollten, machten wir die Service-Mitarbeiterin darauf aufmerksam. Diese war sehr erstaunt, dass wir die entsprechenden Karten noch nicht erhalten hatten und stimmte sich umgehend mit ihrer Kollegin ab. Vom Herrn Maître fehlte leider jede Spur. Auch der Gast am Nebentisch merkte an, dass der bestellte Wein immer noch fehlt. Die Kollegin kam dann recht schnell zu uns an den Tisch, entschuldigte sich vielmals und wollte uns einen „Schluck“ zur Überbrückung aus der Weinbegleitung anbieten. Auf meine Frage, ob es zum Menü denn eine Weinbegleitung gibt, stellte mir sie die Gegenfrage, ob uns diese nicht angeboten wurde. Auch hier merkte unser Nachbar an, dass auch ihm nur die Weinkarte, nicht aber die Weinbegleitung angeboten wurde. Wir kamen mit der Servicedame überein, dass wir Weine aus der Weinbegleitung nehmen wollen und diese wurden uns dann auch sehr flott serviert. Herr Skalet kam dann auch an den Nachbartisch, servierte den Wein und entschuldigte sich. Uns ignorierte er immer noch gekonnt. So wurden uns Gänge und Gänge serviert (jeder einzelne davon ein Erlebnis) und wir vom Serviceteam umsorgt. Nur der Maître war wohl vollumfänglich mit seinen Stammgästen beschäftigt. Nein, nicht ganz! Irgendwann bequemte er sich und kam mit den Worten „jetzt MUSS ich mich bei den Damen auch entschuldigen“ kurz an unseren Tisch. Auf ein weiteres Gespräch ließ er sich gar nicht ein…. Sehr schade, denn dieser eine Herr hat uns einen eigentlich schönen Abend kaputt gemacht! Ich möchte nochmals erwähnen, dass das Essen von Jan Hartwig auf jeden Fall drei Sterne wert ist, dass alle anderen Mitarbeiter im Team hochprofessionell arbeiten und dass auch auf die Anlässe wie Geburtstag, Hochzeitstag liebevoll eingegangen wird. Der (neue) vegetarische Hauptgang war perfekt und das Gespräch beim Gehen mit Herrn Hartwig rundete alles ab. Ob die Wartezeit auf die Rechnung von ca. 20 Minuten dem geschuldet war, dass der Restaurantleiter auch hier wohl nur auf das Wohlbefinden seiner Stammgäste besorgt war, kann ich nicht beurteilen. Als wir dann auf unser Taxi gewartet haben, hat Herr Skalet seinem ganzen Verhalten an diesem Abend noch ein kleines Krönchen aufgesetzt. Mit seinen Stammgästen hat er noch auf den Fahrer gewartet, für uns hatte er leider nicht mal mehr eine „Gute Nacht“. Wie schon eingangs erwähnt, hätte es ein perfekter Abend werden können…

Die Auszeichnungen und das erhaltene Lob sind absolut verdient. Viel mehr muss man gar nicht sagen. Man merkt es beim Essen, beim Service, beim Wein. Einzig: die Abfolge der Gänge war schon sehr schnell, da könnte etwas mehr Zeit dazwischen sein. Mein Highlight: die Desserts - diese waren einfach herausragend.

Ich muss sagen: ich bin immer noch geflasht von dieser unglaublichen Perfektion und den perfekt herausgearbeiteten Aromen. Jeder Gang setzte nochmal eins drauf! Auch die Weinbegleitung war absolut perfekt, das ganze Personal war jederzeit hochkonzentriert und sichtlich mit viel Liebe dabei. Es war für mich das erste mal in einem drei Sterne Restaurant und ich kann sagen, es war ein Erlebnis! Von Beginn bis zum Ende gab es einen Top Service (Aufmerksame Bedienung, gute Beratung uvm). Das Essen war einfach nur Spitze und wir wurden immer wieder auf‘s neue Überrascht. Lediglich waren das Gericht „Gedämpfter Wan Tan“ hat uns vieren nicht zu gesagt, wo wir etwas enttäuscht waren. Das Ambiente ist sehr ruhig und überschaubar mit einer edlen und Stilvollen Einrichtung ausgestattet.

Was soll man groß sagen, die 3 Sterne sprechen wohl schon Bände. Absolute Weltklasse, was hier gekocht wird. Genussorientiert, intensiv, Einflüsse aus der ganzen Welt. Der Saibling wird mir als eines der schönsten (geschmacklich sowie ästhetisch) Gerichte in Erinnerung bleiben, die ich jemals gegessen habe. Weiterhin das wahrscheinlich beste (klassische, aber auch modernere) Soßenhandwerk was ich bisher in Deutschland erlebt habe, unglaublich intensiv aber gleichzeitig nuanciert und die Gerichte immer perfekt unterstreichend. Wer daran zweifelt, sollte definitiv den Schweinebauch mit schwarzem Rettich (der aber eigentlich grün ist ;) bestellen, falls vorhanden. Wer danach nicht den Teller mit einem Stück Brot saubermacht und ein paar Tränchen verquetschen muss, dem kann ich auch nicht mehr helfen. ;) Ganz ganz großen Dank an das gesamte Team, dass ich das erleben durfte!

Früher im Atelier war es schon großartig. Jetzt haben der Chef und sein Labor der Liebe Team aber noch mal einen oben draufgesetzt und völlig zu Recht den 3. in Karlsruhe eingefahren. Dem zuvorkommenden und sehr freundlichen Service sei an dieser Stelle auch herzlich gedankt. Wir fanden das Menü einfach nur großartig. Ein kulinarisches Feuerwerk. Ein gustatorisch perfekter Abend. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder (trotz Bernardaud Ecume und Hering Berlin ;-) )

Last evening was one the best restaurant experiences of my long life of eating in restaurants. The whole relaxing 4 hours was incredible. The food was stellar, innovative, technically highly accomplished with so many diverse flavours. Fabulous wine. Charming, friendly, personable attentive service from all the many staff who could describe the complex dishes in perfect English and it was so evident that they all very much enjoyed and took pride in what they were doing. I particularly liked that the young chefs would come out of the kitchen, deliver and describe several of the dishes. The whole setting, the detail, styling were spectacular. A fabulous experience

Jan Hartwig hält München mit dem JAN weiter in der Liga der 3*-Restaurants - und das absolut zurecht. Ein Abend im JAN ist kein Dinner - der Abend ist ein Erlebnis, er ist eine Reise des Genusses. Der perfekte, aber keinesfalls steife, keinesfalls distanzierte, sondern herzlich-interessierte, fokussierte Service ist ununterbrochener Begleiter des Genusses. Zu jedem Moment fühlten wir uns perfekt umsorgt. Konzentriert, leicht, sympathisch. Auf Zack. Wunderbar! Das Essen gehört für mich persönlich zu den bisher besten weltweit. Das Menü bis ins letzte Detail durchdacht, die Dramaturgie stimmig. Die Weinkarte nicht ausufernd-überfordernd, sondern präzise und mit Sachverstand kuratiert. Einzig die Räumlichkeit überzeugt nicht vollends. Es mussten offenbar Kompromisse eingegangen werden (tragende Wände sind nun einmal dort, wo sie sind). Die Beleuchtungs- und Farbkonzepte skandinavischer Sterne-Restaurants überzeugen mich persönlich mehr. Dafür sind die Sessel wunderbar bequem im JAN. Es tut gut Jan Hartwig in München zu wissen. Wer den Genuss zu schätzen weiß, wer gerne exzellent isst und eine entspannte, aber jederzeit professionelle Atmosphäre schätzt, ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben. Und das PS: Tobi backt das geilste Brot der Welt. Aufpassen, dass nicht viel zu viel davon gegessen wird. Es folgen ja noch so wunderbare weitere Genussmomente aus dem Labor der Liebe.

Um es mit den Toten Hosen zu sagen: „An Tagen wie diesen „ es war ganz schlicht Perfektion. Das Menü perfekt abgestimmt, jeder Gang für sich ein Erlebnis. Ohne Klimbim, das Produkt im Focus, gradlinig, fein angerichtet fürs Auge, ich könnte stundenlang weitermachen. Abgerundet durch einen perfekten Service, charmant, witzig und fachkundig, nimmt den Gast mit auf die Reise durch das Menü und bringt ihm die Philosophie von Jan Hartwig nahe ohne schulmeisterlich zu sein. Der beste Koch der Welt wäre nichts ohne sein Team. Das macht Spaß, das ist großes Kino und wenn jemand fragt, womit hat Jan Hartwig alle die Lorbeeren verdient, muss die Antwort sein „mit Recht“ . Danke für einen fantastischen Abend , wir sehen uns wieder.

Jan Hartwig kannten wir noch aus dem Atelier und haben uns daher einen sehr schönen Abend gefreut. Alles in allem war der Abend gut. Beginnen wir mit dem Service: Wir wurden freundlich begrüßt und an unseren Tisch geleitet. Danach hat man uns für über 5 Minuten sitzen lassen, bevor uns Wasser angeboten wurde. Das haben wir als eindeutig zu lange empfunden. Der Champagner und die Weine (aus der Weinbegleitung) wurden mir voll eingeschenkt, ohne mir die Möglichkeit zu geben diese zu probieren. Wir mussten die Rechnung zwei mal verlangen, was sehr unangenehm war. Abgesehen davon war der Service sehr freundlich. Das Essen: Das Essen war bis auf einen Gang sehr gut. Leider war der Gang „gedämpfter Wan Tan mit Foie Gras Füllung“ zwar geschmacklich ok, jedoch die Konsistenz nicht stimmig. Auf diesem Niveau fällt das negativ auf. Positiv fanden wir die Leichtigkeit der Gänge. Die Location: Sehr schlicht gehalten. Positiv ist die offene Küche.

Was soll man mehr über JAN sagen als „herausragend“. Jeder einzelne Gang überraschte mit kreativen Ideen und Interpretationen der ausgezeichneten Produkte. Ebenso beeindruckend die Weinempfehlung, weiß, Südtirol, 2010(!), perfekt! Doch kommen wir zum besten, dem Service. Noch nie verflogen 5 Stunden Abendessen in einer solchen Geschwindigkeit. Besonderer Dank an Helene für diesen außergewöhnlichen Abend.

For a special occasion, my wife and I had lunch at the Werneckhof. We both chose the 4-course menu as suggested, which was served with two amuse gueules and a small selection of petit fours with the espresso. The menu was accompanied by a 2021 Chardonnay from Polz (Obegg) in Styria, which went well with most of the courses on the menu. A glass of Barolo was only drunk with the meat course (venison saddle). In all courses of the menu, it is worth emphasizing how carefully Ms. Schilling prepares each individual component, tastes it and puts it together on the plate to create a “culinary work of art”. I particularly remember: - the beef broth with addition, which was served as the first amuse-gueule (golden-yellow, intense tasting without being intrusive in the aftertaste) - the various vegetable side dishes to accompany the scallop - the turbot in combination with the accompanying vegetables - the perfectly tasting saddle of veal The Chardonnay was decanted by the sommelier, explained knowledgeably and served in the large Zalto goblets. It was an all-round successful meal, especially since the food, service and environment were all worth 5* even when viewed critically.

We booked ISARDOGS for an event at our company with over 600 people and had consistently positive feedback, everyone liked the hot dogs and fries very much and the service was really great. Our employees were enthusiastic about the different versions of the “classic hot dog” on offer and everyone found something for themselves, including vegetarians and vegans. The process before the event also ran without any problems. We would book ISARDOGS again at any time.
