Today, August 1, 2025, was my second time there, this time invited by a customer - thank you so much, Karlo! Everything was fantastically beautiful! I'll be back as soon as I can afford it. A beautiful place. Not too pretentious, but "relaxed" and cozy. Absolutely fantastic staff, so human and visible at the table and in the open-view kitchen. The food "won me" from the first bite, simply divine, WOW! My "criticism" at "very high level" is irrelevant, merely a suggestion for improvement: The menu print is illegible. The panna cotta could have been improved, perhaps with a vanilla pod. Everything else: Hats off, I'm blown away by what's possible in a "restaurant." But thank you, thank you, thank you to the team; it was an unforgettably wonderful visit. I get emotional and sometimes cry at special wines or smells. Today I cried with you. Because it was so beautiful. I'm sorry, despite all the complicated, divine dishes, it was the "bread" that made me cry with joy. It hurts me so much right now that I didn't insist on packing the leftovers, but I was simply "full & happy" at the end. The music wasn't too loud, and the distance between the tables was just right. The best I've personally experienced so far. My meal highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the mustard egg, a dish that will remain in my memory forever. Simply amazing. All the other dishes were divine, too. The red wine from Walter Schullian that accompanied the menu wasn't perfect for me: 2020 Lacus (70% Cabernet Franc – 30% Merlot). It was far too young and difficult to approach. Decanting might have helped a little here, but it's still not the best choice in my opinion. When my friends or I cook and drink wine on this budget, the taste of the food or the aroma of the wine might make me cry (from pleasure 😊 ), but unfortunately, that didn't happen at JAN Restaurant. Overall, my lunch at JAN was an absolutely special experience, my first time at a 3-star restaurant. I'll be back as soon as I can afford it. When I do, I'll bring my own wine if possible (I didn't even notice and didn't think to ask if the restaurant had a wine list).

This was definitely in the top 5 meals of my life! The dishes, particularly the fish ones, were really great. My only complaint is the timing seemed off - sometimes, we would wait forever for a dish, and sometimes they would come quick. Either way, this is a must do for fine dining fans!

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my husband's birthday at Jan, a three-Michelin-star restaurant renowned for its exceptional cuisine and outstanding service. We had a unique and delightful dining experience as each dish showcased the creativity of the chef, whose innovative approach to flavors and presentation left us in awe. I especially liked that for each dish there was a story behind it, drawn from Jan’s experience as a cook and artist. The kitchen is named "Lab of Love," which perfectly describes what Jan's kitchen is all about. Often, the cooks came to the table, presenting and explaining what they had created, which added a personal touch to the experience. Additionally, we enjoyed a fantastic selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic pairings that perfectly complemented our meals. I wholeheartedly recommend Jan to anyone seeking an extraordinary dining experience.

For a 3-star restaurant, the room has a very odd seating arrangement. If you're unlucky, you'll get a table at the very back in the "bunker." The waiters are constantly opening the cupboard to get glasses and prepare the wine, etc. nearby. There's a narrow corridor with a few tables, and then the large room. At this price level, I don't expect any bad tables, and there's so much to dislike about the room decor. The food was good, but there were a few dishes that were very average. The service was very hit-or-miss and seemed chaotic. The wine pairing was very average. As some reviewers have mentioned, the regulars seemed to receive the best service from the head waiter and the waiting team. The others receive only minimal service. After eating at many 3-star restaurants around the world, this was the biggest disappointment for me. I'm glad Tohru has now received 3 stars. It truly deserves it, and I will go there again.

Over and over and over again........! My "all-time favorite"! We've been here several times. Both for lunch and dinner. Starting with the service, the menu is more than worth a visit. The atmosphere is light, very inviting. The service is fresh, friendly, and professional. If you're worried that a 3-star restaurant might be unapproachable, don't worry. You can feel at home here. Every course is a delight, not just visually but also culinary! If you get goosebumps while eating, it speaks more than a thousand words. The plates are arranged like a painting. Almost too good to touch. But only almost ;-) Every bite is balanced in flavor and consistency. You can taste the selection of ingredients in every bite. The sauces!!!!! Please bottle them! What I personally found exciting, as a native of Lower Saxony, were the interpretations of these regional dishes that we were able to enjoy. Over and over and over again....!

The fact that JAN continues to hold any Michelin stars—let alone three—is incredible. I went with my mother and father on our trip to Munich and our experience on June 24 presented us with a dining experience that would be unacceptable at any price point—let alone €560/per person we paid. We entered into a very casual and unrefined dining room playing 80s music—which we didn’t originally pay much attention to—as we were greatly looking forward to the food. Our attention was grabbed though when we noticed one guest was seated awkwardly facing a structural pylon and directly in a walkway, an unthinkable layout for a supposed fine dining establishment. Additionally the tables were almost entirely barren—with no tablecloth and just a little cloth placemat with JANs name on it—a very cheap looking setup. Service throughout the evening was abysmal. Dirty silverware remained on our table across multiple courses. When replacements were eventually brought, they were carelessly placed, often not even set on the provided silverware stones. Overall Staff coordination was chaotic with kitchen staff occasionally coming out to serve food. Making matters worse, there was no designated sommelier, which is simply unacceptable given that the wine pairing is priced at €189 per person. The “sommelier” was regularly seen serving food and helping the kitchen. That price point demands thoughtful selections and knowledgeable service. Instead, we received acidic, overly tannic, uninspired wines that didn’t remotely pair with the food and left an unpleasant aftertaste. We even had to ask for a different wine for the short rib pairing because the one provided tasted worse than boxed wine from a college party. Finally, the food did not redeem the experience. After a great amuse bouche and a passable tartare and pikeperch, the kitchen completely fell apart. The short rib was dry and inedible, the duck was chewy and served with dull silverware and “breakfast for dinner” turned out to be little more than a buffet granola and yogurt. That was on top of the disharmonious pace of the operation. The final dessert was a chaotic pile of fruit and sugar. At best, the food was a 4/10—and that’s generous. Everything else about the experience was a firm 1/10. When confronted about some of these issues the staff’s tone ranged from indifferent to actively condescending. When we politely noted that the knives provided with the duck course were too dull to cut the meat, the response was a patronizing, “Are you using the correct side of the knife?”—as though we were children unfamiliar with cutlery To add one final layer of strangeness: the dining room seemed artificially filled. A few diners were sitting alone— and most notably —there was one woman who slept through half the meal. It gave the impression that guests were comped or paid simply to give the appearance of demand—an uncomfortable and shady practice for a restaurant of this supposed stature. We paid our bill and sprinted out of the restaurant relieved to be done with the most gruesome 4 hours in recent memory. JAN is not a fine dining experience—it is a disjointed, overpriced, and deeply pretentious operation from an individual who is clearly just cruising on name recognition. If you’re looking for a truly exceptional Michelin-starred experience in Munich, skip JAN entirely and go to Restaurant Atelier. We had an absolutely incredible experience there 3 days prior. They deserve the 3 stars, JAN deserves absolutely none.

Jan does not deserve its 3 Michelin stars — in fact, it doesn’t deserve any. From the moment we walked in, something felt off. The dining room was uninspired, the host was unfriendly, and the overall atmosphere lacked the warmth and refinement you expect from a world-class restaurant. There was no sense of welcome or occasion. Service was poorly executed and completely out of sync with the kitchen. We sat with empty glasses for long stretches, and there was no sommelier — a glaring omission for a supposedly elite dining experience. The wine selections felt cheap and unconsidered, and there was no guidance or pairing offered. The food was at best mediocre. The short rib dish, a main course, was dry and completely lacking in flavor — made worse by a dull knife that made it nearly impossible to cut. The final course, a yogurt with granola, felt more like breakfast than a thoughtful end to a fine meal. It was jarring and left me with a very upset stomach the next day. There was no harmony between the kitchen and the floor staff — it felt chaotic, disorganized, and amateur. To top it off, a woman seated alone across from me kept nodding off at the table, which gave the distinct impression she was there simply to fill seats. Jan was not just disappointing — it was baffling. This is not a restaurant operating at a 3-star level. It’s a mystery how it earned that recognition.

If you are in the mood for self inflicting wound by a low fat yogurt sprinkled with granola or better yet american processed cheese served for dinner washed down by cheap wine, you should certainly come visit this so-called 3 Michelin star restaurant . Do yourself a favor, take an 18 min taxi ride across the city to Restaurant Atelier . There, you will truly experience creativity ,quality , flavors, hospitality and service you have been expecting from a professional chef running a Michelin star restaurant. Jan , start cooking , I am sure you have it in you! But , this time around , it was nothing but disappointment.

The food in the restaurant was – as expected – excellent. Each course was superbly prepared, with the highest level of flavor. The service was also very good: attentive, friendly, and professional. But unfortunately, the overall experience was massively marred by the location where we were seated – and that simply shouldn't happen in a 3-star restaurant. Our table was directly in front of a counter. Behind us, bottles were constantly being pulled out of a refrigerator, cupboards were opening and closing, and the staff were conferring at the counter – accompanied by constant noises: clattering, clinking, etc., voices. To make matters worse, we were also sitting directly under a jukebox that was turned up too loud. It was a birthday, and we specifically requested a nice table, which was a shame. And a non-personalized birthday card... Simply unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. This table shouldn't exist in this form – it destroys what defines a star-rated experience: peace, focus, and atmosphere. When you dine at this level, you expect everything to be just right. In this regard, I'm afraid I have to say: I'd rather go to Tohru – everything there is just right, from A to Z, and now even has three stars!

An experience for the palate and the eye, art with taste. Each course of the menu is a work of art, crafted with meticulous attention to detail, one you'd almost hate to destroy. If you do, an explosion of diverse, wonderful flavors and delights awaits the connoisseur. Impeccable service rounds off this special experience. The cuisine (a laboratory of love) was completely convincing. Arrival/departure by shuttle service, taxi, or public transport is recommended if you choose the wine pairing.

A well deserved 3 Michelin star rated restaurant. Very creative and excellent combination of flavours and textures, with a particular highlight on the sauces. Despite the price level and top-end gastronomic experience, the restaurant is very casual, not stiff at all as it may be in other locations. Service is beyond excellent, truly attentive and very friendly. We were really impressed. We have had a chance to talk to the chef in different occasions, nice guy!

There are restaurants with three stars, where you understand with your mind why they got such a high rating, and there is JAN, where you understand not only and not so much with your mind, but most importantly you understand with your Heart why there are three stars (it's a pity that there are no five stars). We had an unforgettable evening at JAN yesterday. We've never eaten so well before. We were privileged to enjoy culinary works of art – and as fine dining newbies, they opened our eyes to a whole new understanding of aromas and flavors. We would particularly like to highlight the service: The fact that some of the dishes were explained by the chefs themselves gave them the visibility they deserve. They are artists – and it's only right that they are allowed to present their work themselves. This created a wonderful transparency. As guests, we were able to share in their world, their thoughts and creations – and you just think: why can't you just cook a little better yourself – despite all your efforts :D In any case, the enthusiasm and palpable passion of all the service staff was impressive. In extremely pleasant conversations with a waitress, she raved about, among other things, a special pea shape. A young chef, with shining eyes, remarked almost casually, while a dish of herbs was being sprayed with cucumber vinegar, that he found it so beautiful because it looked "like morning dew on the herbs." Experiencing this sense of aesthetics, this enthusiasm and passion was impressive, authentic, and in a certain way, very inspiring – and genuinely humbled us, given the dedication we were able to experience. And all of this in a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere – the fact that we could also laugh together was extremely pleasant. A culture of appreciation and respect prevailed in every respect: for the food, the creations, the guests. And Jan Hartwig's team more than deserves this appreciation as well. It was an evening that broadened our awareness on several levels and further deepened our humility towards good food and the work behind it. Thank you for this special experience!

If you can only go to one fine restaurant in Munich, it is undoubtedly Jan. Almost every aspect is perfect, the food is impeccably delicious and innovative, the desserts are amazing, and the color matching of the dishes is pleasing to the eye. The service is meticulous and thoughtful. I have been there twice, once to celebrate my birthday with friends and once when I went there alone at noon. The perfect service is not awkward even if I go alone. The atmosphere of the restaurant is quite good, not particularly depressing but very relaxing.

We had an unforgettable lunch in Jan. Everything was just right here 👌🏻The food was an absolute dream in terms of the different tastes and consistencies and at the same time really “tasty”. We have never eaten such incredibly delicious lamb before! What we will also remember is the sensational service - you feel comfortable as a guest from start to finish and notice that it is a really close-knit team. My personal highlight was that they noticed that I was left-handed and from then on I was laid out on the other side. Many thanks to everyone in Jan for letting us spend a lunch like this with you! Culinary 8000m with heart . Our visit was a few weeks ago. It was an evening with many, exceptionally positive impressions. At this level you can certainly “cook” differently, but not better. Everything seems like a play in which you are perfectly integrated. The team acts in an unaffected manner, facing the guest. The atmosphere is absolutely pleasant, just makes you feel good. A tip: We had Ms. Kolbeck, the sommelier, send us the wine list as a PDF in advance. You need some time to get an idea. We then clarified the selection before our dinner.

The 3-star Restaurant Jan is extreme: the basic version of the menu costs €355 per person, but with various extras it can become significantly more expensive. The wine list is also very expensive (and I don't mean DRC or Pétrus…). And yet this restaurant is a recommendation because the food is simply perfect. Many of the individual courses touched me enormously, they bring back memories and are often breathtakingly good and beautiful - beautiful both visually and in the variety of flavors and harmony. The Schliersee trout, for example, or the Königsberger style veal sweetbreads. The menu with over a dozen courses is almost overwhelming, every course is a work of art, tells a story - you reach your limits with the quantity and complexity, and yet you can't leave anything behind on your plate because it tastes so good.

After a rather disappointing evening, we haven't been to this restaurant for a year. This time the service was very friendly and accommodating, a big compliment to Hanna too. The menu is an experience, but the number of courses makes it difficult to manage. Special requests are taken into account. The elaborate preparation justifies the price. Fine-Tuning for Gourmets: Our Evening at “JAN” (Munich) 15.1.25, we visited “JAN” in Munich. Even before tasting the first courses, we sensed something special: Foie Gras, Crustade, Carne Cruda & Bonito amuse-bouches delighted us, followed by an excellent Gaisburger Marsch and a divine Rockefeller oyster. The kitchen impressed further with char and pike quenelles, so precise we nearly declared them the highlight. 1. Ambiance Our evening began awkwardly, waiting outside in the cold for five minutes because the doorbell went unheard. Inside, a modern, minimalist style greeted us, though bright lights gave certain tables a harsh “spotlight.” Softer lighting would have better suited the upscale vibe. The restrooms were clean but felt more like a standard eatery than a gourmet landmark. Overall, these new premises don’t convey a true three-star ambiance. 2. Culinary Highlights vs. Letdowns Amuse-bouches and fish dishes showed refined, three-star finesse. Veal sweetbreads and pigeon, though solid, lacked an unforgettable spark of the heart. 3. Service & Flow At-table service was friendly and knowledgeable, though a mild rush was noticeable. Our seven-course meal stretched nearly five hours, making it feel like a marathon. We ended up taking petits fours to go. 4. High Points Foie Gras, mini Gaisburger Marsch, and that Rockefeller oyster were standouts. Char and pike quenelles were equally impressive. Even dessert brought a smile, though we were already quite full. 5. Improvements The missed doorbell, overly bright lighting at some chairs, and extended wait times detracted from a true fine-dining aura. Veal sweetbreads and pigeon might benefit from a creative twist. 6. Balancing the Stars While the kitchen feels 3-star in flavor and execution, service and ambiance hover around 1 star due to layout, lighting, and pacing. Blending the two might yield a fair 2-star rating, echoing our experience at “Moesmer.” where it was the opposite around. 7. Conclusion “JAN” delivers some exceptional courses—especially in seafood—but the lengthy format tests even dedicated foodies. A more streamlined menu and a setting truly suited to top-tier dining would give “JAN” the polish it deserves. There’s real potential here, yet we personally favor the cohesive three-star feel found at his former spots, the Atelier and even the Schloss Nymphenburg pop-up location. Bon appétit, KK

In an inconspicuous building just two blocks from Munich Central Station is a small but unusual restaurant that I have been wanting to visit for some time. My solution: visit in January. However, visiting out of season did not detract in any way from the excellent service and of course the food. I particularly liked the pike dumpling 3.0 (the third version of this dish in the restaurant) and the grilled red mullet with veal tongue. The very bright and modern main dining area has a partially open kitchen so you can watch the final preparation of each dish. Chef Hartwig was often seen supervising his kitchen brigade. Phenomenal dinning experience. The restaurant start service at 19:00 sharp. The area where it’s located isn’t the most interesting but from the moment you go through the doors it’s an entirely different experience. The service is very courteous and attentive. At all times they will take care of you and ensure your comfort. The food is creative but never goes into excessive or overly experimental territories, the flavors are well balanced, and the wine pairing is perfectly tailored to go along. The restaurant offers only a set tasting menu but will accommodate allergies and intolerances. They need to be informed at least 48 hours in advance. It’s a rather pricey experience but the cost is not really different from what you can expect at a 3 Michelin stars restaurant.

I would like to be able to give Jan Hartwig and his team more stars. Overall it was a unique experience and I felt comfortable throughout. The food was great: varied and we were always surprised by the sauces. I have never eaten so creatively and consistently so well. The wine list is clear, but very great wines. The team was courteous and in a very good mood, so the evening was really fun. I will definitely come back.

Among the 13 3-star restaurants I visited in the summer of 2023, this place was in the top three. Familiar ingredients, but with unexpected combinations and attempts, each dish is a Beautiful Surprise! It had a decidedly more casual atmosphere than Atelier, so I thought, 'Is this what the chef wanted to do?' I was curious. But no matter what, the chef's respect showed that the most important thing in a restaurant is the cooking! The staff also flows smoothly in an atmosphere that is not overly formal. Flexible service doubles the pleasure of dining. See you again, Team Yan! It was ‘one of the best 3’ of 13 michelin 3 star restaurants I had visited this summer. Very familiar ingredients, but with beyond-expectation mix and challenge, every dish was full of beautiful surprise! Compared to Atelier, definitely casual atmosphere. Curious about ‘this is the one chef really wants to make?’ Anyway the only thing I want to emphasize is ‘the most important thing in the restaurant is cuisine itself’ He showed it 100%. Give all my respect! For the staff, without exaggerated formality, services were very smooth in all aspects and it doubled our dining satisfaction. Looking forward to seeing you soon, team Jan!

Absolutely phenomenal. The food was delicious, unique and gorgeous, the wine was incredible, and the staff were the absolute best. They were friendly, attentive, warm and even took the time to write us recommendations for our next city. Hanna was especially helpful and communicative via email when making and adjusting our reservations. We so appreciated how they gave us a special dessert to help us celebrate our honeymoon. I was there in February. It was the first of 5 gourmet temples this year and by far the best. The investment is worth it here and people talk about these delicacies for a long time. One taste explosion follows the next. The service is not over-stretched and not too relaxed - very professional. The boss shows interest in the customers and they want to ensure that the guest receives top service. And that was completely successful. I don't think the atmosphere of the restaurant itself is warm, the design isn't very special and I don't find the personal touch - but that's a matter of taste and, as you know, tastes are different. The only reason for us to travel to Munich was to visit Jan Hartwig. Last Friday, the five of us were able to enjoy the large menu at lunchtime. Of course, with Mr. Hartwig's reputation and the 3 Michelin stars, you go to the restaurant with certain expectations, it was fascinating how playfully these expectations were exceeded. Not only the outstanding performance of the kitchen should be highlighted here, but also the service, which was convincing with an ease that is rarely experienced in this segment. A must visit for every foodie who is in Munich. Thank you and keep it up, we will come back at the next opportunity.

Three of us had my birthday lunch here in late September. We each had the 7 course menu with wine pairings. The food was excellently prepared and beautifully presented. Staff were attentive and friendly. They even provided me with a small birthday cake treat with candle at the end. It was by far the most expensive restaurant I've ever eaten at, but you have to expect that at 3 Michelin star level. Lovely way to spend my birthday.

I was somewhat underwhelmed by the ambiance of the restaurant when I first stepped inside. It is a very nice space but is without the bells and whistles like some other places that I have been to during this trip to Germany. But I soon found out why this place is the only 3-star in Munich. The food totally blew me away. The menu and amount of food is similar to a French 3-Michelin-star, aka there is a lot of insanely delicious food but with a distinctive Bavarian flair. Chef Jan definitely elevates every single dish. My favorites of the evening were the char, the oyster, the sweet bread, and the pear dessert. We were pleasantly stuffed at the end of the night. The sommelier helped us pick out a delicious German Riesling as well. I really love dining at Jan and would come back in a heartbeat when I am in Munich again. Update: this is the best meal that I had during my first trip to Germany. 🇩🇪

The food was incredible, and the dishes were beautifully presented during my lunch on 27th September. The culinary experience exceeded expectations, with meticulous attention to detail in the plating that truly reflected the Michelin-star quality we were expecting. However, there was an issue regarding the purchase of an umbrella. One staff member informed us it was complimentary, but we were later charged €50 by another. This inconsistency was disappointing, particularly given the high standards your restaurant upholds. I understand misunderstandings can happen, but I hope this matter can be reviewed, as it left an unfortunate impression after an otherwise excellent experience.

One of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful afternoon of my life so far, the team that looked after us (me, my husband and a Turkish friend) ('served' is really NOT the right wording here...) was warm-hearted and humorous, technically perfect and ' visually' (I don't often meet women who are beautiful AND friendly...!) wonderful... The menu as well as the wine pairing? I can hardly remember the fantastic atmosphere (but I was later told it was 'out of this world'...😂) and the loving attention of the people who looked after us and cooked for us ('laboratory of love' - yes, that's actually true …) I would especially like to thank you for the card and the surprise (I actually didn't open it until the next day!) and a warm greeting to the lady of the house for choosing the musical accompaniment to the meal - music was exactly my taste, loud enough to listen (and enjoy), quiet enough not to drown out our conversations... Were there again a few weeks ago and have known Mr. Hartwig's kitchen from his studio for years. The service was excellent as always. The kitchen was also very good, only the patisserie did not meet our expectations. Overall, a nice evening, except for Mr. Hartwig's lack of critical ability regarding the patisserie. He then came to the table and made a loud fuss, which you couldn't do anything about as every word was twisted in your mouth. We have never experienced anything like this in any restaurant, let alone a star restaurant. These probably went to the boss's head. So if you have criticism, it's best to keep your mouth shut and don't come back or just accept it!

The menu at Jan is a true masterpiece of culinary art. Each dish is a carefully composed creation that impresses with the highest quality and creativity. A special highlight of the evening was the glazed sweetbreads, which impressed with its delicate texture and intense taste. The pork cheek “La Chinoise 2.0” with XO sauce and 80-year-old rice wine was also a delight, impressing with the perfect balance of flavors. Another notable dish was the JACAN pigeon, accompanied by kohlrabi, black garlic, anchovies, vadouvan and cherry blossom. The pigeon was perfectly cooked and went well with the sophisticated side dishes. The MANGITSCH, a dish with mature mountain cheese, was also a culinary experience that impressed with the combination of melted cheese, horseradish and verjuice sauce. Particularly noteworthy is Jan's dessert selection. The MIEZE SCHINDLER SORBET with Tahitian vanilla, pisachios, long pepper and raspberries was a refreshing end to the menu. The creative and artfully presented petit fours, including profiterole, lemon & basil, and Pina Colada, pineapple & coconut, rounded off the experience perfectly. The service in Restaurant Jan is remarkable. The employees are not only extremely professional and well trained, but also extremely friendly and courteous. They are always available to provide competent recommendations and ensure that guests don't miss anything. The wine pairing was excellent and complemented the food perfectly. The Restaurant Jan offers a top-class culinary experience in Munich. The combination of exquisite cuisine, first-class service and a pleasant atmosphere makes every visit a special event. I can fully recommend Jan and look forward to coming back soon.

It was simply wonderful! My husband and I had a very nice afternoon with you on Wednesday The food was absolutely wonderful. Of the six three-star restaurants, definitely in the top three, if not two ❤️ What we also really liked was that special requests were skilfully addressed and the meat-free dish often came across as a little sister to the meat dish, making it easy to compare/chat about the food. Unfortunately, we sat next to the counter, which caused a bit of unrest and somehow there was always a hustle and bustle around us, which I found to be a bit stressful. But I don't think there's much you can do about it because the room already dictates that ❤️ I would have been happy with such a small pocket chair. The hook thing didn't work for my bag and I didn't want to put it next to the drinks for fear of water stains or something similar. But otherwise everything was great and we will definitely come back next time!

It’s obvious that they take pride in their dishes. Visually they were all perfect. I didn’t care for a few of the dishes but that I think is more personal preference. There were three issues I had with the service. First, our first sixty percent of the courses were served right on top of each other. I think we finished them in less than an hour. The remaining courses took three hours. It was painfully slow. Secondly, I opted to have a few wines by the glass instead of the tasting menu. The wines were fine, although very small pours for the price. The issue was I sat there for the last hour and change with an empty glass while all the tables around us were being served and no one came to us to ask if we wanted more. This is also the same for our water. I think it was about 45 minutes we had empty water glasses. Lastly, after four hours and finally getting and paying the check, while we were waiting for them to “find” my wife’s jacket in the coat closet (for 10 minutes), they accused her of stealing a tea spoon off the table. This is ridiculous. She was appalled and so was I. They were vocally accusing her in front of other guests, which was quite embarrassing. Who would spend $800 on lunch and take an $8 spoon??? What a joke and an awful send off. This review wouldn’t have even been written if not for that. Although everything above is accurate.

Three-star restaurant, certainly. Impeccable service, very professional and knowledgeable about the food and wine offered. The small problem in my opinion is that the first appetizers and starters are too salty. The rest is extremely sophisticated and delicious. The wines accompany the dishes wonderfully. The homemade bread is excellent. Even if the portions are small, the classic tasting menu is very substantial and nighttime digestion was a little difficult. Last small downside, the interior decoration. Very sober, the relief paintings which punctuate the gallery are in a somewhat "firefighter" style and clash with the refinement supposed for a restaurant of this rank.

Food was okay, although not my preferred style because there was too much cream and whipped cream. The paid supplements were also promoted quite aggressively by the staff. At the end of the day, during the tour of the boss, his reaction to the remark that the morels tasted like burnt fat: "That can't be right, I made them myself", he turns away without any further reaction and goes to the next table. But he has 1300 € more for 2 pax. Then I mentally turn away and prefer to spend my money in the Eifel or in Baiersbronn or in Munich at Sigi's. Thanks.

We have spent the last week traveling through France , Belgium and Germany by far so far this is the best campsite we have stayed on easy to deal with service was incredible and honestly if your looking for somewhere around Munich this is the best

Very attentive and friendly service, a lovely ambiance. Delicious food and wine. We would return anytime and recommend the Weinheim at any time.

The restaurant is no longer there! We walked halfway across Munich yesterday to find out. It's a shame. Please update the website.
