Friendly welcome and service. The atmosphere is lovely and the food is very good. The slightly higher price is commensurate with the quality.

I like the restaurant. I was there today. However, what I would definitely change is the frying oil. It needs to taste more neutral. The Wiener Schnitzel, in particular, tastes too much like frying oil or clarified butter. It could be better! Hence only 3 stars. Addendum: It's a shame the reviews aren't being read by JH. On November 16th, 2025, I tried again regarding the schnitzel. No change. Much too buttery in taste. This time the fries were also cold.

We were a group of 9 people. The food didn't arrive for over 2 hours!! Some of it was cold, or items were missing or the wrong items were served!!!! The service was completely overwhelmed. Conclusion: Never again.

We were a large group (13 people) at the restaurant and were really looking forward to a nice evening. Some of us had been there before and had been satisfied—which made this visit all the more disappointing. We had to wait over 1.5 hours for our food. The portions were very small, yet quite expensive. Several dishes were barely seasoned; we ordered more salt, but it never arrived during the entire meal, even though we explicitly asked for it. Some drinks didn't arrive at all, and one was the wrong one. When we wanted the bill, we had to wait another 30 minutes and ask several times. When they cleared the table, they asked if everything was alright. When we explained the problems, the waiter simply ignored us. An experienced restaurateur in our group pointed out to the waiter that it's customary to offer dissatisfied customers a small gesture of goodwill. He said that they usually offer a complimentary coffee or a homemade dessert. Some of us wanted a cappuccino, others a dessert. He then said he would have to discuss it briefly. When he returned, however, he only brought a bottle of schnapps. Since almost everyone had to drive, this wasn't an option for most. He then ignored his original offer of coffee and dessert. The staff seemed increasingly irritable and overwhelmed. There was no apology for the inconvenience. Other guests in the enclosed beer garden were also clearly dissatisfied. It was also extremely hot there, as the patio heaters were set far too high. We ourselves repeatedly asked for the temperature to be adjusted because it was becoming truly uncomfortable. The guests at the other tables also had to wait a very long time—some applauded sarcastically when their food finally arrived, while others left before they had even been served anything. Outside, an unpleasant situation arose with the supposed owner: He asked us sharply, "Have you paid?" We replied, "Yes, of course—or were you trying to treat us?" His response: "You'll be in big trouble here if you don't pay." We replied that an apology for the poor service would be more appropriate than a rude remark. He then turned away without another word. In conclusion: Excessively long wait times, unfriendly service, a complete lack of professional handling of criticism, and an utterly chaotic evening in terms of both organization and service. Although the food was delicious, the restaurant is unfortunately not recommended at all.

The food was of mediocre quality and only arrived after a two-hour wait – unacceptable. We then had to wait another 30 minutes for the bill. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

Our visit to this restaurant was unfortunately a huge disappointment. We had to wait a total of one and a half hours for our food and were repeatedly given excuses and even longer waiting times. Even the drinks didn't arrive on time – which spoiled the entire experience from the start. At the end, we were even asked by the (presumably) owner or manager if everyone had paid – with the clear implication that there would be "real trouble" if not. Such a brusque tone towards guests is completely inappropriate. The portions themselves were also far too small and in no way commensurate with the exorbitant prices. When dining out, one expects honesty, reliability, and respectful service – all of which we sadly lacked here. The only bright spot: A genuinely nice employee asked if we were satisfied and offered us something as a small token of apology. However, this only happened after we asked – nothing was offered spontaneously. In conclusion: We cannot recommend this restaurant and hope that in the future they will operate more transparently, professionally, and with better customer service.

I can't understand the positive reviews at all. If you're willing to pay high prices for the ambiance, fine. But I can't speak to the quality here. As a woman, I wasn't even full. The burger plate consisted mainly of fries, and even those tasted so bad that I had to cook something at home to settle my stomach. The price-performance ratio is completely out of whack!

The food, service, and ambiance were outstanding on October 31st. We were accompanied by L. Live's saxophone and were even able to make requests. The server was wonderful, the food was divine, and we were completely satisfied. We will definitely be back.

A visual oxymoron. Neither hunter nor home. Instead, a Far Eastern-style steakhouse atmosphere. Today, you might say "freaky." We enjoyed it, and the food is excellent.

We visited the Jägerheim today with nine people and were immediately greeted in a very friendly and competent manner. Our orders were taken promptly, the starters arrived quickly and were excellent. The main courses were served simultaneously – with a truly professional and charming service from the staff. The food was consistently delicious, and the desserts were also impressive. A drink was initially forgotten, but after a brief reminder, it was promptly brought – and even on the house. Excellent service, demonstrating that guest satisfaction is their top priority. We would definitely be back!

Something different, but very pleasant, with lots of pink tones. A calm atmosphere. Friendly service, and they ask if you'd like to order something. Very discreet. The food is a bit more expensive, but very tasty. The dessert was exquisite. There's something for everyone. We will definitely pay this restaurant a second visit.

The restaurant is in a pleasantly quiet location. There's plenty of parking right next door. The exterior lighting is a bit unusual, but also quite charming. The interior features a modern, rustic décor. The menu should offer something for almost everyone. The service could definitely be improved. The prices are quite high for the food.

Tastefully decorated. A varied menu with several Austrian dishes. The onion roast was cooked to perfection, and the sauerbraten was also very good. The dessert was also delicious.

Today was our first visit to Jägermeister, but not our last. The service was very friendly and competently answered all our questions about the menu. The food and drinks were also simply excellent. For me, it was probably the best Wiener Schnitzel I've had in the area and one of the best I've ever had. I can also highly recommend the Jägermeister Spritz!

For me, the value for money here isn't right at all. For the prices they charge, I definitely expect more flair in the food. Also, some of the portions were too small and not warm enough. The wait for the food was long.

We love the great ambiance, the mix of pub and pink—simply fantastic. Just go there, enjoy the excellent food, and experience attentive service.

A highly recommended restaurant. There's something for every taste. Very attractively presented dishes. The owner himself serves guests. The decor and ambiance are unique in the area and simply welcoming. The warm chocolate cake for dessert is highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio here is completely off. If you pay €15-18 for a kids' meal (chicken nuggets and fries, or schnitzel and fries) and then have to pay an extra €2 for ketchup and mayo, then I expect either the quality or the portion size to justify the price. The same goes for the adult meals. Simply overpriced. No special service or particularly good, high-quality food. We won't be going back to the place. It's a shame, because the location is very nice. But there are much better options in a similar location, cheaper and with better service.

The food is absolutely overpriced! Now everyone knows why the menu isn't available online. A glass of wine costs €9.90, which is outrageous. They charge €1.10 for ketchup. If you want to take the leftovers home, they charge €1.90! The prices they charge for the food aren't worth it. One visit and never again!

**Update** After contacting the consumer protection agency, I was confirmed that the Jägerheim's approach was illegal. I then requested a refund of the voucher amount. The Jägerheim complied with this request immediately. _______________________________________ Unfortunately, we were disappointed here...but not because of the food. Unfortunately, I can't give a review for that. Nevertheless, I feel it's important to report on how potential new customers are treated. It's been our plan to eat here for a while because we've only heard good things about it. Unfortunately, we've never made it. For Christmas 2024, my parents gave us a voucher from the Jägerheim. Now there was no excuse. But as is often the case with vouchers, they end up in a drawer for now. We definitely wanted to go to the Jägerheim when the weather allowed, allowing us to eat outside. Now it's August 2025, and the weather is wonderful...so we quickly reserved a table for four people. (Of course, the voucher isn't enough for that, but if the costs are a little lower, it's already been worth it.) So I took the voucher out of the drawer and was initially shocked. "Valid until May 29, 2025." How can that be? The issue date is November 30, 2024. So that means it's only valid for 6 months? Aren't vouchers supposed to be valid for 3 years by now? Okay... you can always ask. So I called and politely asked if that was correct or if it was perhaps a mistake. The gentleman on the other end then explained to me that vouchers can be valid for a shorter period if you specify it. Hmm... I didn't know that until now... I've only ever seen the 3-year limit... I asked again politely if there really wasn't anything they could do about it. Unfortunately, the gentleman on the other end didn't react very kindly and simply said that's always the case with them, and there's nothing they can do about it. I then informed him that in this case, I would cancel the reservation. "Well, that's just how it is... bye!" was the only response I got. So, from a business perspective, it's pretty clever to issue vouchers for such a short period (€€€)... I have my doubts about whether it's legally correct... I think if you set the validity period for less than three years, it should at least be reasonable... But in terms of customer and service orientation, such behavior is completely inappropriate. If you're not going to show any goodwill, you could at least have reacted kindly or expressed a word of regret. Then maybe I would have gone anyway, or at least another time. But I certainly won't eat here like this and would rather spend my money at friendly restaurants instead. Conclusion: Pay close attention to the validity when purchasing vouchers and especially when redeeming them.

It was Sunday. On that day, there was an atmosphere of an old people's home, because 90% of all guests were old people, but this is synonymous with the fact that this restaurant already exists for over 250 years!!! And that is very well-known, liked and valued among the German population 🍀🌹🌹🌹The restaurant is clean, well-maintained, very nicely decorated. The color pink dominates and that color in the eighteenth century was a symbol of luxury and sweetness of life. A symbol of warmth and hospitality. What distinguishes this place from all other old German restaurants decorated in old wood. Staff very polite. Neatly dressed people. Gallantry. Decent prices. I recommend it for larger groups and for couples. It will be perfect for romantic evenings for two👌🍀🌹💕💕💕

We were there for the first time today. The food, service, and atmosphere were top-notch. We'll be back 😍

Unfortunately, we were disappointed with our visit to this restaurant. The service left a lot to be desired. We had to wait over two hours for our main course, and when we asked the waiter about it, there was no apology. Furthermore, we had to call him every time we wanted a drink, as he wouldn't come to us. The bread, which usually comes as a welcome, was also forgotten. In the end, when we expressed our dissatisfaction, the matter was dismissed with a joke, and there was no attempt at reconciliation. It's a shame, because the food itself was quite good. We hope the service will improve in the future.

It's quite nice outside in the pavilion, but it's a matter of taste if you like pink with black. The veal liver was very thin and flat, and the portion wasn't large. It took some time before we could order, and even longer for the drinks to arrive. The food arrived very quickly, but along with the usual bread and aioli.

The Jägerheim has been a part of my life as a teenager and young adult. What can I say? It was fantastic again. A family reunion with a birthday party. The service was warm and excellent. I would happily recommend the Jägerheim in Dortmund Niederhofen at any time.

Very good restaurant, the food is always delicious. The service is also excellent. Last time, the rump steak was a bit hard to chew, so we sent it back straight away and got a new one. The service and food are really top-notch.

A cozy beer garden with attentive staff. The food, and especially the desserts, are a taste experience. Children are also welcome here.

The ambiance and service are great. Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio is no longer right. The portions of the main course are getting smaller and smaller, and the price, of course, is getting higher and higher. The lettuce on the burger wasn't washed properly and was unfortunately already moldy all over. The fries were McDonald's level. At those prices, they should have been homemade. A shame.

The best restaurant, among others, for long-distance truck drivers, with restrooms and washing facilities open at night, affordable showers, and ample parking that fills up quickly in the evenings, but Alfred always finds a spot... the food is always fresh and delicious at reasonable prices.

We were at the Jägerheim for the first time with our work colleagues and had reserved a table. The location in the forest is pleasant. We sat outside that evening, and the terrace is very nice, even if you have to like the pink lighting that's everywhere. The service that evening was completely overwhelmed and ran hectically from table to table; it wasn't clear who was assigned to which area. The service also forgot ordered drinks and frequently ignored us. The fact that two work colleagues weren't satisfied with their food and wanted to return it was initially ignored by the service with the response, "I don't know." The owner of the restaurant is also not open to criticism and simply walked out of the conversation. But we weren't the only ones who returned food that evening. The waiter didn't have any change, so we were forced to pay by card. Given the prices and the menu, which isn't available online, they should serve perfect food, not undercooked meat (or they have to ask how they want their meat). What was extremely disturbing was the loud atmosphere. It was impossible to have a conversation at the table because the terrace was so crowded. The Jägerheim restaurant aims to be in the top league, but its service and food are particularly lacking.

Delicious, high-quality cuisine at a reasonable price. Comfortably furnished, with a large beer garden, it's simply an upscale restaurant with plenty of options for larger celebrations – it's possible here.

Essentially, this is a restaurant with a pleasant ambiance and good food. Unfortunately, a few things went wrong during our visit, which noticeably tarnished the overall impression. Upon arrival, we were seated in the beer garden – contrary to our expectations – where the noise level was very loud and made relaxed conversation almost impossible. My dish, pasta with prawns, tasted quite good, but nothing special or creative. The bigger problem, however, concerned the steak, which we ordered medium. Unfortunately, it arrived significantly undercooked and had to be returned to the kitchen. The owner was very friendly and helpful, which we greatly appreciated. While the rest of us had already finished our meals, we continued to wait for the newly prepared steak. The owner came back after a while to ask if everything was okay this time – which was a bit surprising, since the second steak hadn't even been served yet. After we reported it, he immediately rushed to the kitchen, and shortly thereafter, the steak finally arrived. Unfortunately, it was now more well-done than medium – barely pink. We decided to avoid returning it again, as we were now too hungry. It tasted okay, but considering the price, it was rather disappointing. We actually wanted to order Kaiserschmarrn – three portions – to finish off the evening. Our disappointment was even greater when we were told that there was only one portion for the entire evening, which had already been sent to the next table. Since we were particularly looking forward to this dessert, this was another setback. Instead, we ordered three other desserts, which tasted okay, but again took almost 30 minutes to arrive. We were never asked for more drinks – a service that should have been standard, but unfortunately, this was missing here. Overall, it was a rather disappointing visit, as some of us had had other (significantly better) experiences. Despite the pleasant ambiance and generally good food, neither the service nor the quality matched the price. It's a shame – with a little more care and attention, the evening could have been much more pleasant.

Another wonderful evening on the terrace at the Jägerheim. My guests from Ireland were very enthusiastic, especially about the Wiener Schnitzel. The service was very friendly, and even though there was no English menu, they tried to take our orders in English. Great ♥️ The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was wonderful, and we felt very comfortable.

The ambiance was fantastic. The food was excellent. I just found the waiters very hectic.

We sampled the home-style cooking on offer and were very pleased with the quality and flavor of the individual ingredients. The seasoning of the individual dishes was subtle but not overly so. This makes it accessible to a wider audience. The ambiance is upscale. It's located directly in front of a wooded area with a field in front of it. Various areas offer a variety of cuisines. For a main course with a drink and dessert, expect to pay around €45-60. For me personally, the price for the evening was reasonable.

The staff is very polite, courteous, and helpful. The food is excellent and beautifully presented.

Visited on October 27, 2024 First of all: We enjoyed the food (venison goulash, spicy salad with beef, cordon bleue, panna cotta). But 1: We were escorted to our table, but then forgotten. After waiting for minutes, we finally got attention by waving to order drinks. We were then given our menus. But 2: Ketchup for the cordon bleue (€36.90) was charged an extra €1.10! But 3: The menu is deliberately not published online. Why? At the above date: Standard cordon bleue €36.90, ketchup €1.10; salad €28.90; standard venison goulash €27.90; standard dessert €12.90; 0.25l white wine €8.90; Ginger Ale 0.25l €5.20 etc. Conclusion: The price-performance ratio isn't right at all. What a shame.

Lokation war super. Deshalb dachten wir uns hey das ist bestimmt der Hammer. Chef sowie Chefin sind echt super! Das war dann noch ein Plus warum wir unbedingt da essen wollten. ZUM ERSTEN MAL! Aber es fing schon damit an. Das wir sehr lange auf unser Essen warten mussten. Und als das Essen kam. War es leider alles andere als lecker. Und wir ernähren uns nicht ausschließlich von fast Food etc. Wir wissen also was schmeckt und was Geschmack ist. Leider ist somit das Preis/Leistungs Ergebnis zuständig für die drei Sterne. Schade. Weil das Ambiente,Atmosphäre,Angestellte,Führungskräfte und die Sauberkeit echt super sind. Und alles bis dahin wirklich perfekt war. Es war vielleicht einfach nur ein falscher Tag.

Unfortunately, we didn't find the food very tasty. It feels like the Jägerheim has really lost its quality in recent years. The service is attentive, but also seems confused by the long wait times. Criticisms about the food (fries too salty, meat tough, and salad limp) were dismissed. Everything would be as usual... The atmosphere is still great. Hopefully, things will improve soon.

We went to a celebration in the Jägerheim with 20 people and were thrilled. The food is very tasty and it comes to everyone at the same time. The service is very attentive and it was well decorated.

At the very beginning: FINGER OFF! The interior is really attractive, stylish and yet cozy. Now for the rest: Received by the managing director/boss in a jogger - albeit an expensive one - which was strange. Despite countless free seats inside, we sat in the "tent" with heaters, which, in addition to the fact that we got our food (8 people) after 10 minutes, extremely shortened our stay. Food was EXTREMELY overpriced and not imaginative or exquisite enough for the price. Then mayo, ketchup and a drink were forgotten at the table despite being entered directly on the tablet. It tasted good. The waiters were nice. Unfortunately, some of our forks were bent at the tines and my knife was sticky. Very unpleasant. We eat out very often and we definitely won't see this place again. Atmosphere nice (which you apparently pay for, because the food can't be), beer felt good and was tapped, but that's about it. Too bad! For THAT money you get MUCH more for your money elsewhere (in the immediate vicinity of the Jägerheim or in upscale restaurants). The Jägerheim has NOTHING to do with fine dining and gastronomy...except the prices.

Yesterday we spontaneously called to say that we were in a bit of trouble and that they could do us a favor... then there was an annoyed groan and I immediately asked, was that an annoying groan? The answer was: hehe... I was speechless!!!! We wanted to come with 8 people... we don't have to give ourselves that and then we preferred to leave a lot of money with the competition that evening!

Price/performance ratio doesn't fit! Soup tasted like water, was taken back but no apology or attention from the house. Sauerbraten was a classic roast beef, didn't taste a bit sour, red cabbage was included in the dish and had to be added as well. There was never a response to a nice email telling me what went wrong. Customer is king? Not at this restaurant.

Food and service is excellent. Sometimes the restaurant is a bit noisy and it can be difficult to entertain 4 people or more.

The waiters are always present without being intrusive. They pour wine attentively and take care of every detail. What is particularly impressive is that each table is assigned its own waiter who looks after the well-being of the guests throughout the evening. *Culinary highlights* - *Starter*: The beef tartare was terrifically fresh and very tasty. - *Main course*: The ox cheeks were a delight - the meat was tender and literally melted in your mouth. It was accompanied by perfectly cooked mashed potatoes that were light and not overpowering. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy, cooked just right. - *Dessert*: A chocolate cake with a liquid center was the crowning glory. The crispy edge and fresh fruit made it a dream. *Atmosphere* Despite a larger group of seven people, you never felt rushed. The restaurant made it possible to end the evening in peace, which was particularly appreciated. Conclusion The Jägerheim offers a combination of excellent food, attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere. It is a place where you feel at home, have excellent food and enjoy the evening to the fullest. A special thank you goes to the entire team for this extraordinary experience.

Great location. From the outside it looks like Dortmund's oldest restaurant, but when you get closer it is very stylish and really cozy. We felt very comfortable. Even if the parking lot is full, the large restaurant is very enjoyable. I find the price to be excessive for the quality of the food. A brioche chicken burger, in which I think only the fried onions were homemade, along with fries and mayo for a good 25 EUR. In my opinion, the patty was a convenience product. The barbecue sauce also didn't taste homemade. Plus a small pickle on the burger and a bit of salad. Fries way too salty. So unfortunately that doesn't fit. Nevertheless, I will come back because I would like to try the Neapolitan pizza.

We were there on New Year's Eve. We sat in the outdoor area equipped with patio heaters and stretched outer walls. (Beer garden in the summer) I was still cold all evening! We waited 1 1/2 hours for our food. I wanted a starter but had to decide either everyone else in our group would have to wait longer for their food or my starter would come with my main course. When the food came, the soup was only lukewarm, as was my sauerbraten. You could hardly order drinks because the service was overwhelmed and some were unfriendly and hardly showed themselves!! We were very disappointed with the restaurant. We want to go there again in the summer to see whether things are better now or whether we have similar experiences.

The Jägerheim restaurant in Dortmund impresses with a spacious dining area and a cozy atmosphere in country house style. I particularly liked the rustic area at the entrance, which immediately catches the eye with its charm. The service was professional and at a high level, which made the stay pleasant. I ordered the veal Bolognese, which was really impressive in terms of taste – excellently prepared and very tasty. However, the price was clearly in the upper range, which made the overall price-performance seem somewhat unbalanced. A nice restaurant for a special occasion, but the costs should be balanced a little better in relation to the service offered.

If you still decide to stay at the Jägerheim, I recommend planning for this aspect to avoid unexpected waiting times. I would like to give great praise to the service staff - they always tried hard and in no way deserved my criticism. When we arrived we were greeted by an older gentleman who unfortunately left a very distant and reserved impression. While he seemed very friendly and open to guests who he considered to be wealthier, we found the way he treated us to be much cooler. There were also misunderstandings regarding our reservation: We were accused of arriving too early and with one less person, but this was not the case and we were able to prove it with the confirmation email. If this was a joke, it wasn't clear. After our placement we felt ignored by him. The food itself was okay, but the value for money was at the upper end of what I would consider reasonable. Depending on your perspective, it could also be perceived as slightly overpriced.

Waited almost 2 hours for the food after ordering, there's still a lot of room for improvement!!! So the price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all, so I'd rather go to McDonalds

Extra came here Form the United States just to find a very rude general manager that did not want to sit our group of 22 with reservation. Unprofessional behavior and obviously a significant declines in service and food quality. Half of our food came cold out of the kitchen after they pitifull with grudge did set our group. None of us will ever be back and we are sorry for the employees

We were there for lunch on the 3rd of Advent. Because of the parking lot we thought it would be very full. However, due to the space, it went very well. We had a very nice, quiet table. The staff was attentive and quick. The food - Wiener Schnitzel - was perfect. The potato and bird salad is, as always, perfect.

We were at the Jägerheim on Boxing Day and were unfortunately very disappointed. We had to wait 1 1/2 hours for our food. We ordered veal schnitzel and they were all very dry and really not tasty. At an impressive 36.90, no snap and a fairly manageable portion. When I pointed this out to the waiter at the end, he reacted as if he had heard it a few times today. I think the value for money here is absolutely no longer justified and for me it was the last time I ate there. In the end it was very uncomfortable for me because I had recommended the restaurant and my parents invited us for Christmas.

We were very happy after last year's Christmas dinner in the Jägerheim. In short, this time it was a disaster. Ambience great, service ok but overwhelmed. The organization (a matter for the boss) was poor, which is understandable given that there were too many guests in the outdoor area, which was closed in 2023. I don't blame the staff for their efforts. The food arrived after a whopping 2.20 hours after we were shown to the table in a rather unwelcome manner (mass processing). The drinks were very good, the food was mediocre to bad. Pasta is too salty, fish is oily, sliced ​​meat is boring. Given the high prices, which is generally ok at Christmas, I expect more than dry children's chicken nuggets for 15.90, mayo ketchup for 2.20... We asked for the boss 3 times, who didn't come. Instead, he complained to my mother on the way to the toilet that she didn't have to eat anything if she wasn't hungry anymore after more than 2 hours and that she would see what was going on here. Exactly whoever allows the number of people in must also have a concept. I would tick that off as “it could happen”, but after this arrogant behavior and unwillingness to accept feedback: we’ll never come back. And neither are the guest tables around it. At least 3 tables next door were equally frustrated. Expensive without anything in return. At least we were given two meals off, that was the minimum.

We waited over 2 hours for the (really bad and absolutely overpriced) food. The owner was absolutely arrogant and let his waiters absorb the very negative criticism from all the guests. The toilets were very unsavory. We will no longer recommend the restaurant and will not come back. That's not how you run a restaurant!
