Great location. From the outside it looks like Dortmund's oldest restaurant, but when you get closer it is very stylish and really cozy. We felt very comfortable. Even if the parking lot is full, the large restaurant is very enjoyable. I find the price to be excessive for the quality of the food. A brioche chicken burger, in which I think only the fried onions were homemade, along with fries and mayo for a good 25 EUR. In my opinion, the patty was a convenience product. The barbecue sauce also didn't taste homemade. Plus a small pickle on the burger and a bit of salad. Fries way too salty. So unfortunately that doesn't fit. Nevertheless, I will come back because I would like to try the Neapolitan pizza.

We were there on New Year's Eve. We sat in the outdoor area equipped with patio heaters and stretched outer walls. (Beer garden in the summer) I was still cold all evening! We waited 1 1/2 hours for our food. I wanted a starter but had to decide either everyone else in our group would have to wait longer for their food or my starter would come with my main course. When the food came, the soup was only lukewarm, as was my sauerbraten. You could hardly order drinks because the service was overwhelmed and some were unfriendly and hardly showed themselves!! We were very disappointed with the restaurant. We want to go there again in the summer to see whether things are better now or whether we have similar experiences.

The numerous positive reviews surprise me, so I recommend also taking the critical feedback into account. Depending on the time and day of the week, you may have to wait a little longer for your food. If you still decide to stay at the Jägerheim, I recommend planning for this aspect to avoid unexpected waiting times. I would like to give great praise to the service staff - they always tried hard and in no way deserved my criticism. When we arrived we were greeted by an older gentleman who unfortunately left a very distant and reserved impression. While he seemed very friendly and open to guests who he considered to be wealthier, we found the way he treated us to be much cooler. There were also misunderstandings regarding our reservation: We were accused of arriving too early and with one less person, but this was not the case and we were able to prove it with the confirmation email. If this was a joke, it wasn't clear. After our placement we felt ignored by him. The food itself was okay, but the value for money was at the upper end of what I would consider reasonable. Depending on your perspective, it could also be perceived as slightly overpriced.

Waited almost 2 hours for the food after ordering, there's still a lot of room for improvement!!! So the price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all, so I'd rather go to McDonalds

Extra came here Form the United States just to find a very rude general manager that did not want to sit our group of 22 with reservation. Unprofessional behavior and obviously a significant declines in service and food quality. Half of our food came cold out of the kitchen after they pitifull with grudge did set our group. None of us will ever be back and we are sorry for the employees

We were there for lunch on the 3rd of Advent. Because of the parking lot we thought it would be very full. However, due to the space, it went very well. We had a very nice, quiet table. The staff was attentive and quick. The food - Wiener Schnitzel - was perfect. The potato and bird salad is, as always, perfect.

We were at the Jägerheim on Boxing Day and were unfortunately very disappointed. We had to wait 1 1/2 hours for our food. We ordered veal schnitzel and they were all very dry and really not tasty. At an impressive 36.90, no snap and a fairly manageable portion. When I pointed this out to the waiter at the end, he reacted as if he had heard it a few times today. I think the value for money here is absolutely no longer justified and for me it was the last time I ate there. In the end it was very uncomfortable for me because I had recommended the restaurant and my parents invited us for Christmas.

We were very happy after last year's Christmas dinner in the Jägerheim. In short, this time it was a disaster. Ambience great, service ok but overwhelmed. The organization (a matter for the boss) was poor, which is understandable given that there were too many guests in the outdoor area, which was closed in 2023. I don't blame the staff for their efforts. The food arrived after a whopping 2.20 hours after we were shown to the table in a rather unwelcome manner (mass processing). The drinks were very good, the food was mediocre to bad. Pasta is too salty, fish is oily, sliced ​​meat is boring. Given the high prices, which is generally ok at Christmas, I expect more than dry children's chicken nuggets for 15.90, mayo ketchup for 2.20... We asked for the boss 3 times, who didn't come. Instead, he complained to my mother on the way to the toilet that she didn't have to eat anything if she wasn't hungry anymore after more than 2 hours and that she would see what was going on here. Exactly whoever allows the number of people in must also have a concept. I would tick that off as “it could happen”, but after this arrogant behavior and unwillingness to accept feedback: we’ll never come back. And neither are the guest tables around it. At least 3 tables next door were equally frustrated. Expensive without anything in return. At least we were given two meals off, that was the minimum.

We waited over 2 hours for the (really bad and absolutely overpriced) food. The owner was absolutely arrogant and let his waiters absorb the very negative criticism from all the guests. The toilets were very unsavory. We will no longer recommend the restaurant and will not come back. That's not how you run a restaurant!

So we were there for Christmas and had reserved a table for 6 p.m. At 9:10 p.m. we canceled our meal because, after asking again and again, we were told there were still 2 tables ahead of you. After several conversations with guests, we weren't the only ones who waited forever for food and now went home without eating. Waiters were completely overwhelmed and unfriendly. ️We were at the Jägerheim on Christmas Day with a group of 18 people and had high expectations of a sociable evening. Unfortunately we were disappointed. We had to wait over 2 hours for our food, which is simply unacceptable for such a large group. As we waited patiently for our orders, the mood became increasingly restless. A couple with children were forced to leave early because the little ones were becoming hungry and impatient. Maybe in the future you should set your expectations of sales in relation to the kitchen. I'll leave it to be seen whether the rump steak was of a quality for €40. It was by no means a comparison to the other steaks you can get in the region at a similar price. There were no visible fibers and it wasn't seared. When the food finally arrived, the quality was very mixed. Some dishes were cold but still good, while others, like the Wiener Schnitzel (see picture), were warm and simply not edible. The long waiting time and the inadequate quality of the food greatly marred the evening and we did not have the opportunity to fully enjoy the feast. I hope that in the future the restaurant will be more responsive to the needs of its guests, especially larger groups. Overall it was a disappointing experience and unfortunately I can't give it more than one star.

I find it difficult to give an appropriate rating. The food, the ambience and the serving staff are top, and the price is also right. However, the landlord/tenant changed his tone. We were there for the second time with a group of around 20 people for Christmas dinner (all couples). Last time he was also friendly and accommodating. This time he responded very rudely to a query. He literally said to the person in charge, you can call me. I put this down to his obvious senility. I find this surprising because the employees are all friendly, nice and competent. There is a saying that the fish stinks from the head. And the head smells coming down from above. And I don't want that for my friends or for myself. Of course, that means we won't be going there again unless this strange boss goes into his well-deserved retirement proudly and with his nose held high. Merry Christmas

Prices are a bit high but are still within limits. The atmosphere was very cozy and descriptive. The food was absolutely top. The service would have liked to have been a little more on point, but it was absolutely excellent and very friendly.

We were a large group and the ambience, reception and service were top notch. Points deducted, however, for the fact that we had to wait a long time for the food even though it wasn't full, one dish was returned badly burnt and one dish only came when everyone else had already eaten. The price for the fillet steak was not justified. It tasted great, but the pepper sauce tasted like it came straight from the tetra pack. All in all it was a very nice evening. The boss and the Crue were very friendly and accommodating.

Hello everyone, we visited the Jägerheim in Dortmund. The atmosphere was very nice, decorated for Christmas and, above all, traditionally furnished. The service was good and courteous. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the women's toilet left something to be desired. Especially if a restaurant is very busy, the toilets should be cleaned more often and toilet paper and dry towels should be refilled. The food was generally very tasty. The onion roast should weigh 250g. 🤔 The sauerbraten was tender, but more like a normal roast beef, not pickled enough sourly. The delicious Starnberger Hell beer is also served! 😉👌 Basically we would like to come back, but we would then try other dishes. Happy holidays everyone!

I have on December 15th. I “celebrated” my 60th birthday there and it was very spoiled for me. We were there with 15 adults and two children. We had chosen a specific table with the owner of the restaurant two days before my birthday and also discussed the procedure. When I arrived there with my birthday party, we were assigned a completely different place in a kind of "outdoor building". We sat at two tables located on each other's walls. It was very tight. It was also unpleasant that there were other guests in this narrow space. I would have preferred to go back. But what to do with my guests? How embarrassing! In my opinion, it is also appropriate for a restaurateur to greet his guests, especially those who have a birthday. The manager of this store just walked around with an extremely grumpy face all the time and was busy with the reservation book. Even my guests noticed this. One of my family members even told me that he was nagging us, namely that we shouldn't behave like that, that we should now sit in this (much more uncomfortable) outside room instead of the main room, as we had agreed. The food was ok. The starters, which were served on large plates, were sometimes more run-of-the-mill than a culinary delight. I ordered salmon with sweet potato puree and wasn't very impressed. The salmon was very well done and the puree tasted very, very sweet, was almost cold and the consistency was so smooth that I could have sipped it through a straw. I was so uncomfortable with the whole situation that I couldn't really enjoy my birthday or my guests at all. Even at home that evening I had flashbacks and heart palpitations from anger. The only positive thing was the service staff. Of course, my anger didn't go unnoticed by them either. They managed the whole thing quite well and tried to be particularly nice and professional. But unfortunately my birthday was a day that I would like to quickly forget thanks to the Jägerheim. And the whole thing cost me around 1400 euros!

Yesterday evening we visited the Jägerheim restaurant in Dortmund and had reserved in advance, but when we arrived the reservation could not be found. Despite this mishap, we were fortunately assigned a seat and found our table in the heated winter garden, which was half full. It was very loud there. Another drawback was that the restaurant was advertised as “dog-friendly”, but our dog, who immediately laid down quietly, was at best tolerated on site. This was particularly disappointing as we had come specifically with our Dalmatian to enjoy the evening in a pet-friendly atmosphere. The menu was very extensive, but the service left a lot to be desired. The food came quickly, but the service seemed a bit disorganized and not attentive. It was particularly unpleasant that we found either an insect or lint (we couldn't determine exactly) on a plate. The plate was replaced immediately, but as soon as we had a new plate, we found a gray, long hair (5-6cm) in the soup. When we brought this up, it was actually suggested to us that it must be a hair from our Dalmatian, even though he is a shorthair. The discussion that followed was completely inappropriate and inappropriate - we wouldn't have expected something like that in a restaurant. To make matters worse, we were literally “complimented” at times. Both the waitress and the restaurant management reacted completely inconfidently to our legitimate complaints and left us with the impression that they had no interest in resolving the situation professionally. Although we were not charged for the two faulty plates and were even offered a drink on the house, the mood was already at its lowest point. We skipped the drink and ended the evening early. Overall, it was a disappointing visit that we certainly won't repeat.

The Jägerheim restaurant in Dortmund Wellinghofen impressed me with its excellent cuisine. The dishes were not only a highlight in terms of taste, but also fresh and lovingly prepared. Very nice restaurant in the south of Dortmund. The main part inside is completely like a hut in the mountains, but interpreted in a modern way. All dishes are highly recommended, many Austrian specialties. Service can take a little longer due to the constantly full restaurant, but the wait is definitely worth it. The service is attentive and satisfies the guests promptly. The “Hausgebeitze Salmon Jägerheim Style” is highly recommended as a starter. The price is a little higher, but the taste is far ahead. I am consistently very satisfied with the meat dishes. The goose is a good recommendation in the run-up to Christmas. All in all, always a lovely evening in a rustic atmosphere. P.S.: The “Warm Chocolate Tart” with a liquid center is a must every time you visit. The creamy taste of this great dessert is always a great ending.

Unfortunately it's just a rip off! We were actually regular guests at the restaurant and shrugged off the changes in prices and plate sizes. Expect to pay around EUR 60 per person for dinner in total. However, we are shocked after today's experience. The store was completely overcrowded, the service was completely overloaded, the toilets were beyond appetizing, there was chaos with the orders and it was freezing cold in the camping garden because the gas bottles in the patio heaters were empty. After waiting for over two hours and asking several times, we left hungry. The staff did what they could. The boss is a complete disgrace. Instead of apologizing or explaining, he simply told us that he didn't want to see us anymore. It seems that success has gone to someone's head. In any case, we won't be coming anymore. A visit to a restaurant can hardly be worse.

An unbelievable impudence! We were there today with 18 people and initially rented the curling rink. After several wrong deliveries, 4 times the demand (and 30 minutes later) we finally got our drinks. At the subsequent (planned and booked) dinner, we were delivered numerous wrong drinks, were put off several times by the staff and we got up and left after 2.5 hours because we still hadn't received any meals. We were repeatedly assured that our food would be delivered from the kitchen right now... The service staff are extremely overwhelmed, annoyed and disrespectful. Orders are taken but unfortunately not delivered. The waiting times for the delivery of drinks are impossible (We are still waiting for the food!) We drive home hungry after waiting for hours and will never set foot in this shop again. The management does not criticize us and reacts arrogantly and without reflection. We spoke to several guests who had similar experiences today. An absolute no-go

We were guests here a few weeks ago. The boss at reception was really very nice and accommodating. The service was very nice and attentive. The food is upscale, expensive, but really good. Personally, I didn't like the atmosphere that much. It had a bit of a hut, ski demolition feel to it. Not much, a few percent. But I expect a little more, given the prices, which are already at the top in Dortmund. Eating out is definitely worth it.

Location, premises, service and enjoyment were all well and good. I found the general prices for the usual drinks to be overpriced - comparatively speaking.

The food - venison goulash, spicy salad with beef, cordon bleue, panna cotta - tasted good. But 1: We were escorted to the table, but then unfortunately forgotten. After waiting for minutes, we finally got attention by waving, much too late, to order drinks. We then received the menus. But 2: Ketchup for the Cordon Bleue (€36.90) was charged at €1.10. Yes, that's what it says on the invoice. But 3: The menu is deliberately not published on the Internet. For what reason? Gentleman's agreement, we thought. Interesting. Far from it. Once you're there, you'll also order. standard Cordon Bleue €36.90, ketchup €1.10; Salad at €28.90; Standard game goulash €27.90; Standard dessert at €12.90; White wine 0.25l at €8.90; Ginger Ale 0.25l €5.20 etc etc etc Conclusion: Price-performance non-existent. You obviously don't want to generate regular guests. We live within walking distance and will still prefer to walk to O or to l'A. Too bad.

The restaurant has a rustic, modern ambience. The service is attentive and timely. The dishes are based primarily on traditional Austrian cuisine, some with a modern interpretation, and taste excellent and are, in my opinion, absolutely authentic. The menu is regularly expanded to include seasonal offers. The prices are reasonable considering the overall services and I am already looking forward to my next visit 🙂

We like going to the Jägerheim because our little son loves playing with other children in the outdoor area. We prefer to sit on the wooden benches on the playground. Unfortunately, the staff tend to forget to serve you or you have to wait a long time until someone comes by. The last visit was a disaster! Nobody came and asked for drinks, no menu was given. At some point a waitress called over to ask for a menu for dessert. The card was then brought, but no order was taken because we had been forgotten again. In the end we had to pay because it was already too late and our little son had to go to bed. I had the impression that wooden tables = wooden class 🧐

We actually enjoyed eating there, but now it was the last time. After we were squeezed into a table during the Christmas season, despite having a reservation, that was far too small and placed in the middle of the room so that the food wasn't that great, we are now also impressed by the new price -Performance ratio very disappointed. The prices have increased dramatically, while the service and the quality of the food no longer correspond to those of recent years. We almost had to fall off our chairs to draw attention to ourselves when we wanted to order new drinks (even though the restaurant was almost empty), side dishes to the main course were forgotten and when I order a burger with fries for which we are supposed to pay €25 , then we expect fresh, home-made fries and not ones from the bag from the Aldi around the corner. It's a shame, but it only seems to be about the money here, no longer about quality and the guests.

Unfortunately this time it was a failure for me. I ordered the salad with chanterelles and was really looking forward to it. This Sunday the staff was obviously significantly outnumbered, so we had to wait much longer than usual for our food. This can always happen... When we got our food, I was unfortunately disappointed. The chanterelles were totally sandy. So after 2.3 forks I looked around for a waiter. Mr. Kühne was nearby and he took my plate away with an apology. Unfortunately, I was not offered an alternative. I ate my fried potatoes and a slice of my daughter's pizza... This was not how I imagined my meal to be. Ms. Hoffmann cleared our table without any comment. At the end my salad was also on our bill! However, this was canceled after a short conversation. It's a shame I was let go with such a bad feeling...

The restaurant is located right next to the forest and has a unique ambience. A mix of Bavarian paired with pastel tones. Very special but also particularly comfortable. The service was very good and so was the food. However, the drinks are overpriced, especially the (table) water. Take an example e.g. France, water is free there! That's how it has to be.

Delicious food in a nice atmosphere. The restaurant can be recommended for both business meals and a romantic date. We particularly liked the large, covered winter garden. The summer chicken salad was large and tasted delicious. The roulade was tasty, but the portion could have been larger. If the prices had been set a little more moderately, I would have given it a full 5 stars. Unfortunately I have to deduct a star in this price range because certain details weren't right. In an upscale restaurant, I don't expect paper napkins or paper place mats. High-quality cutlery, including sharp knives and more comfortable chairs in the winter garden would also be appropriate. Although it was set up for bread or a greeting from the kitchen, nothing of the sort was served. The small plates remained empty. Complaining at a high level, but ultimately high prices are also charged. Salad, roulade, two drinks and two coffees cost €85. The waiters were friendly and attentive. Parking is free. Reservation recommended. It remains unclear why there is such a big secret about the menu online. Not particularly customer-friendly, especially for people who have difficulty making spontaneous decisions.

We were here recently on the occasion of a golden wedding anniversary. A really great restaurant with a special flair. The company's children were able to run around on the large lawn and play areas while we sat on the large terrace. The service was very nice and quick. The food is really great, I had the salmon and it was excellent 😀 I particularly liked the huge selection of non-alcoholic drinks such as limoncello! The interior is also very cozy and the combination of rustic wood and bright colors is something special. I'll be visiting again soon with my husband!

This restaurant absolutely did not meet our expectations. The food is average. The prices for these are very excessive. The service was overwhelmed and chaotic with the number of guests. In any case, this restaurant does not live up to the claim of offering Austrian cuisine.

Not recommendable!!!! After dinner I felt sick and lay on the couch at home all afternoon/evening. Overpriced, unfriendly and inattentive, after complaining the boss was arrogant, unreasonable and arrogant... Never again and will never recommend it... I'll spend my money somewhere else with family and friends... I'm 51 years old and have never had such a bad overall package in the catering industry... I wouldn't be surprised if the RTL guy from RTL shows up soon...

The four of us ate at the Jägerheim in a great atmosphere. Our stay was supposed to last 3 hours. The reason for this was obviously massive problems with the staff and/or in the kitchen. We waited well over two hours for our food. (Cordon Bleu, Wiener Schnitzel, beef roulade and sauerbraten) Knowing that the food here is in the higher price segment and that the restaurant presents itself as such, this of course raises expectations that, unfortunately, at least today, were not fulfilled at all. The sauerbraten and the roulade were delicious. The Cordon Bleu for €34 was unfortunately more breading than meat and only had a little cheese to offer. The Wiener Schnitzel was ok, but unfortunately nothing more. You've had better food elsewhere. The fries had obviously been fried repeatedly and were therefore partly impossible to pick up with a fork. We were also surprised that mayonnaise and ketchup cost extra in this price segment. But so be it. Getting drinks required increased personal effort. Some of the staff seemed overwhelmed. If at the end an incorrect invoice is presented and money is (rightly) requested after prior payment, this unfortunately completes the current picture of the Jägerheim. We were quite disappointed, but in fairness we raised this on site and at least received an apology. 👍🏻

We were here for the first time. We liked it very much. We will definitely come back. Recommended.

Attentive, modern, stylish... and the food is simply outstanding! What you should expect given the prices! We'd love to come back! Simply worth a visit!

What a lovely evening with great cuisine

Always absolutely delicious, top quality!! Service is always very attentive, price performance is justified, my favorite restaurant in Dortmund…

Second visit here and it was even better. We went here for dad's birthday with 7 adults and 2 kids under 5. We had a table in the pavilion which is super cute decorated with huge colourful lamps and of course everything is pink. We had a drink first with most of us opting for Spritz Version. Aperol spritz and mine was a Ramazotti Spritz..very tasty. For dinner we ordered cappaccio (I had the truffle one, brother went without any and dad had the mushroom one) all very tasty. All meals were served simultaneously so that no one had to wait which is awesome. I had veal, dad and brother had beef cheeks and sister had venison goulash. Everything again was perfect. And for dessert I opted for the strawberry tiramisu, dad went for zabaione and brother went for chocolate lava cake. It was all again really good. The menu itself is massive as they offer Italian food as well as local dishes. And there is the every pink theme when it comes to drinks and desserts.. It was a lovely evening and celebrations but over all made special thanks to the good food. Looking forward to be back soon.

We again had a good and freshly prepared meal in the beautiful terrace area, the prices are borderline, but the food was very tasty.

Unfortunately, the Jägerheim has unpleasant 1-star reviews deleted, even if they only contain factual criticism (e.g. about the internal processes at events). I would have liked to have written a more detailed review; But that recently only led to a request for deletion, which is why I think the 3.5 stars on TripAdvisor are more credible overall. I'm curious to see if it survives this review.

Based on the experience of Engel and Völkers' annual reception, I would rather place such events in the future in hands who can handle the number of people. In any case, the Jägerheim did not cover itself with fame that day. I'm curious to see whether my review will be cowardly deleted or whether the service will be improved.

The fresh furnishings give us a lot to expect. Unfortunately the service was just ok. Changing staff at almost every service. No fresh, cheerful greeting or the like that you would find in other restaurants in the same price range and ambience. At the end there was a super unfriendly expulsion. We didn't know the opening times. They were also not communicated. Not even the last round we ordered. The light was turned off 5 minutes after the last glass, even though we said we would just drink it quickly. (We were there with 8 people) That's not possible. I was very disappointed and cannot recommend the experience.

Very nice covered outdoor area (rain-wind-coldproof). Food at a higher level and also has the standard and price. Points deducted for the vegetables, which were almost inedible due to too much soy sauce. The duck was good. Spare ribs ok, both dishes were over €30, difficult. Good for business lunches. However, it is also suitable for more romantic evenings. Very courteous and pleasant service. Reservations recommended

We always enjoy spending time in the Jägerheim :-) This time we had the veal curry sausage with truffle fries as the main course and were thrilled. The curry sauce is particularly delicious!

The ambience is very nice, really great. The service was great The food was good but way too expensive for what you got. e.g. B. with tagliatelle with salmon and asparagus there were 2 salmon cubes, 1 stick of asparagus and 1 cocktail tomato

We ate here for the first time. My sauerbraten with dumplings and applesauce was very tasty. Good price/performance ratio. My husband had a rump steak with fried potatoes. The meat quality could have been a bit better. The steak was soft, but a bit dry on the inside. (250g medium). That was a bit too expensive... The ambience is very nice and lovingly designed. There are sufficient seating opportunities. The dessert Was delicious. (Apple strudel with warm vanilla sauce.)

The loud pop music everywhere was disastrous for us in terms of atmosphere, so we quickly left - despite the delicious food.
