We always knew the International as the first place to go for delicious food. We no longer live in Walsum and visited again after a few years. We were really looking forward to the food. Had a plate of international and schnitzel. The rice on the plate was definitely spoiled. The meat was no longer of the same quality and taste as it once was. I have to honestly say that you would have gotten better food like this in a chip shop. And when I complained about the rice, the waitress just said I'd let the kitchen know. We are very disappointed and will not eat here again.

Oh dear, what was that? We haven't been to the International for a long time, more precisely for the last time before Corona. Back then, everything was always great, the food, the speed of service, everything; and packed almost every evening. But now?? Out of 7 main courses, not one was good. The Cevapcici were out of the package and cold on the inside despite the burnt spots. I've never experienced anything like this in a Balkan restaurant. The waiter was overwhelmed with everything and not exactly what you would call friendly. Then they said there were no large bottles of water; I ordered a small bottle without gas, after asking several times I received a bottle with gas after more than half an hour and the large bottles came and went at the next table. The soft drinks were all non-carbonated, so the cartridge was probably empty. The best part was probably the orders that never even came; To save our honor, they didn't appear on the bill either. Well, it's a pity, it's a pity, but it was our last time here!

We ate there with 8 people and a child (2 years). We found a place at a nice table. The staff is very nice and accommodating. The food is great and I can recommend it to everyone. There was no way we went home hungry. It was very tasty and also plentiful. Always worth a recommendation👍🏻

Food was tasty, service was unfortunately not good. We only received our salads after asking. A dish was completely forgotten and only served after everyone else had already finished eating, that can happen, but there was no excuse. Additional sauces that were ordered were not delivered despite repeated requests. It's a shame actually, the food and the ambience were good. Prices are right too.

I've only been going to this restaurant for over 20 years and unfortunately the last few visits haven't been what it used to be. The staff is way too stressed and has no time after !!30!! It takes a few minutes to ask if you want a second drink, but ordering something else is simply impossible. I'm happy for the boss and his sales, but unfortunately not a pleasant feeling as a guest. The food was mediocre at best, this time - for the increased price, the portions were much smaller than usual and the cooking level was not and could not be maintained today, so it was really not satisfactory this time. I'm still not giving up on the restaurant and hope for a better experience next time!

We had dinner with 20 people at Christmas. Restaurant fully ok normal.had 1.tables not yet cleanly set 2.Service not friendly 3. Food on different plates, same food, different side dishes, lots of things missing, meat not ready yet or shoe soles 4. If you comment on the food, no one is interested in apologizing or changing the price 5. I've known the restaurant for over 20 years and from now on I don't come back anymore, no decorations on the plate, anything just slapped on it, that's it

On October 3rd, 2024, I ordered a table for 23 people for Boxing Day in the “International” restaurant in Duisburg Walsum. I was promised the table from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (More on that later). When the food came to the table it was absolute chaos. Sometimes the wrong food was brought, sometimes the wrong side dishes, 2 rump steaks were still completely raw on the inside, so they had to be fried. Shortly before 2:00 p.m. the waitress came and explained to us that we had to leave the table at 2:00 p.m. for the next reservation. I told the lady that I had personally received confirmation from the boss for the period from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The waitress said she was sorry but she had the details that we could only stay until 2pm because there was another reservation. The boss himself was nowhere to be seen regarding consultation. Up to now we have always been happy when we were at the International, but today was an absolute disgrace. You didn't even have the opportunity to order dessert and there was no ouzo, which we usually got. Even though we were satisfied with the food itself after the above-mentioned errors were corrected, we will probably look for another location for the next celebrations. Out of pure greed, we suspect, an additional reservation was simply accepted and we were basically thrown out 2 hours before our previously agreed time. Such treatment is not possible! The fact that I don't just give one star for the service is entirely due to the waitresses (who were the least able to handle the situation), who always remained nice and friendly despite all the stress.

Always nice to eat there. This time the portions weren't as big as usual and the side dishes weren't cooked quite as well, but that was bearable because there was a lot going on on Christmas Day. Kudos to the wait staff who stayed cool despite such a crowd!

Am 03.10.2024 hatte ich für 23 Personen einen Tisch für heute, den 2. Weihnachtstag, im International bestellt. Der Tisch wurde mir von 12:00 Uhr bis 16:00 Uhr zugesagt. Um kurz vor 14:00 Uhr kam die Bedienung und erklärte uns, dass wir um 14:00 Uhr den Tisch für die nächste Reservierung verlassen müssten. Ich teilte der Dame mit, dass ich beim Chef persönlich für die Zeit von 12:00 Uhr bis 16:00 Uhr die Zusage bekommen habe. Die Kellnerin meinte, dass es ihr Leid tut, sie aber die Daten hat, dass wir nur bis 14:00 Uhr bleiben könnten, weil eine weitere Reservierung vorliegt. Der Chef selber, war bzgl. einer Rücksprache nirgendwo zu sehen. Wir waren bis dato immer zufrieden, wenn wir im International waren, das heute war jedoch eine absolute Frechheit. Man hatte nicht mal mehr die Gelegenheit einen Nachtisch zu bestellen und einen Ouzo, den wir sonst auch immer bekamen, gab es auch nicht. Auch wenn wir mit dem Essen an sich das zufrieden waren, werden wir uns für die nächsten Feiern wohl eine andere Lokalität suchen. So eine Behandlung geht jedenfalls gar nicht!

We took advantage of our Christmas visit to our old home in Walsum to return to the “International” after many years. The restaurant has decades of tradition and unfortunately the ambience has remained there. The upholstery of the chairs and benches, for example, are all completely stained. The cuisine is as expected: large portions of meat, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The side dishes (here classic fries and Djuvec rice) could be better. The service is friendly, but some sayings are out of date. The young service staff, on the other hand, are still learning and are very friendly towards the guests. This gives hope that the “International” could be a little more modern in the future.

We ate in this restaurant for the second time today and were unfortunately a bit disappointed. The food is really delicious, but unfortunately the service was very bad today. When ordering the drinks, we mentioned twice that it should be still water, as the service gentleman only repeated the word water. When the drinks came he said water while handing it out, we said silently in question, he looked at the bottle and said yes. When we poured we saw that there was no still water, it took a while until someone came to report the error, the gentleman apologized and said he would bring a new one straight away, unfortunately nothing came of it straight away, my husband referred him about 10 minutes later Mistake to someone else who then brought the correct water. Unfortunately for us as a group of 4, the food came very separately with a very long time between us, the last meal came about 10 minutes later than the first, which I don't think was so appropriate. The food was delicious, but unfortunately the dessert was a bit of a slog. The same dessert was ordered twice and another one. 2 desserts also came quite quickly, unfortunately the third one didn't. We asked again some time later and got the answer straight away. Unfortunately, it was another 6.7 minutes, the other two had already finished their dessert, and the last dessert was served. Due to the only partially understood communication between the employees when the last dessert was served and the statement we made that it was very late and inconvenient because the others had already eaten, we initially thought that this would then be on the house as compensation , but this wasn't the case in the end when we received the invoice, because it was forgotten and then added to the invoice afterwards. Unfortunately, all in all, I found it very disappointing. Mistakes don't happen, but I think you could or should make amends or compensation somehow, but unfortunately nothing came

Even though we had specified advance orders and people, the older man was completely overwhelmed. Some did not become others later or individually. Only after a complaint did two cellar women come to help. Not again.

Had a fun bowling evening, would love to do it again.

The fries were half raw and cold. The service was tried hard. Unfortunately it cannot be compared to the last visit, which was a few years ago. We will no longer visit this restaurant and cannot recommend it in good conscience.

We were here to go bowling and initially waited about 30 minutes until the waitress took our orders. Another hour later, food was served. The cutlery 5 minutes later. The drinks followed quite promptly. The side salads were served as the first plates were cleared. The food left a lot to be desired and did not correspond in the slightest to the quality we were used to. Another visit is no longer an option for us!!

Yesterday we had dinner at the international with four people. We were thoroughly impressed by the ambience and food. You really get something for your money. The portions are really very generous and you'll definitely be full! You can also have the leftovers conveniently packed up. The next day the food tasted great even warmed up. We'll definitely be back!!

An outdated Croatian restaurant! The atmosphere is a bit old-fashioned! You can still eat there relatively well and not too expensive but nothing out of the ordinary! The portions are plentiful!! We have been invited there twice and found that it is always quite cool there!! But what still makes me think is the last publication of the food and hygiene control, what can I say and whether I'll go there again?? Kind regards

After 2 visits in the last 2 years that didn't bring what I had hoped for, I have to say that International has found its way back to its old quality. After friends told me it was really good there again, we tried it again and what can I say was really good there like in old times! DEFINITELY not the last visit! They have understood that it is not quantity but quality that matters. So keep it up and the customers will remain loyal and bring new guests.😉Oh yes, we both decided on robber meat!

Five of us ate here. The veal liver was more like beef and the beef (from the funny Bosniak) was unfortunately too salty. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes were undercooked, very greasy and lacked salt. The cellar was very nice.

Went there for lunch for the first time with 2 people and can only say very good lunch menu, great food. We had gypsy schnitzel and a medallion plate with starter soup and salad. Very tasty and very rich. Great!!!

A very old, quaint, pork-heavy restaurant. All vegans should give the restaurant a wide berth ☺️ What I found very strange were the old dusty alcohol bottles... There were even bottles from the years with the postal code with 4 numbers... I don't have to say anything more about that. I can't say anything bad about the food. It tasted good. But it wasn't a burner either. We changed our mind while ordering and it probably couldn't be followed. I don't know if it's the age or the language barrier... So the first thing we wanted to order arrived. It wasn't bad, but when our faces looked confused, the waitress's face immediately contorted. Far from realizing that you've made a mistake... So the customer is never king! I wouldn't go there again. Too bad!

I'm now approaching 40 and I've been eating at this restaurant since I was a child. I got a completely perfect meal again today on my wedding day. As always, the boss and the service staff were friendly, courteous and in a good mood. Every guest who says something negative here can no longer be helped. But some people just can't be pleased. All my family and friends were and still are more than satisfied with the Restaurant International...a real recommendation for everyone...TOP price performance for decades

Best restaurant in decades. The quality has been back to where it always was for years because the original owner took his restaurant back. The portion sizes are great and it tastes fantastic.

We were in the restaurant on August 20th. A group of 6 people. The classic first impression of a Balkan restaurant was quite good. We had reserved and were shown to a suitable table. The restaurant was quite empty, which is not unusual on a Tuesday evening. The first drink order was taken. Mainly Cola. It took a little longer, but each guest had their glass carried individually from the counter to the table. The cola had zero carbon dioxide and was only just that cold. The order was received in a friendly manner, unfortunately we always have a special case that requires us to reorder everything, but everything was noted down and even given advice. Everything is okay up to this point. Unfortunately, this one special order arrived incorrectly. The chef who brought us the food was very unfriendly when we pointed out that this was the wrong order. All he said was "what should I do now?" Only the service person responded when asked again and had the dish returned. The portions are very large but unfortunately only mediocrely prepared. It was almost too salty for me and the other guests weren't convinced either. We are used to being able to pay by card everywhere. Here in the restaurant this is only possible under special circumstances. Either someone pays everything by card or everyone pays separately in cash. Which in my opinion shows once again what is going wrong in the catering industry. Anyone who still comes with such excuses in 2024 does not deserve another visit from me. Even most bakers have card payments. So it was more of an average visit and not recommended.

Hatte racnizi die 303 ,waren leider nur zwei spieße aus Schnitzelfleisch,elnem jugoslawischen Gericht nicht würdig,hatte mir Knoblauch Sauce dazu bestellt die Sauce war ein Mix aus mggi und knrr,mein Kollege bestellte sich eine Pfeffersauce,laut Aussage sind alle die gleichen Saucen, Getränke kamen und essen bei25 Personen in Dreier Etappen an ,ok Personalmangel,dazu wollten wir ajvar bestellen,laut Aussage gibt's dort nicht, Prost Mahlzeit in jeder Pommes Bude bekomme ich besseres leckeres Essen

Ordered and received the tasty salad after a short time. The food came in quick succession. Grill plate, generously filled, and the meat prepared to perfection. There was no skimping on French fries and rice either. The price/performance ratio is impeccable. Bring your appetite with you or have the rest packed up without any hassle. We will be back!

Hello everyone. The last time we were in the restaurant was at Easter. We were 6 adults and 2 children. The drink order didn't go as planned. Instead of a bottle of water, a large Fanta was served. After putting the glass down it was said that there had never been any mention of water. While eating, it was only afterward that the broccoli was out when the food was already on the table. So there were no vegetables. Lastly, a waiter was asked to mediate. In addition, there was unfriendliness and everything tasted the same when eating.

If there were n euros more on the menu everywhere, it wouldn't be a drama. 2 dishes with a drink each and a cappucino each. Just over €40. I'm very satisfied - we'll go back.

The prices for food and drinks are very reasonable considering the really large portions. But of course the landlord also has to earn something and you can see that in the quality of the food on offer. Turkey schnitzel was made from a kind of "molded meat", beef was partly tough and the fried potatoes were limp. There was nothing wrong with the pork dishes, they were good

The deep fryer was contaminated with old food residues in the edge area of ​​the baskets 3. The chopping blocks in the kitchen and in the meat preparation area were dirty with old blood residues / meat residues. juice residues contaminated 4. The cutting boards used for vegetable preparation were covered in a large area with a black mold-like coating 5. The tubs for meat and vegetables were encrusted with old lettuce and meat residues 6. Hooray. The international is good again. Once my favorite restaurant. Things had slowed down a lot during Corona times. Today we ate there again after a long time. The food was great. Everything was fresh and very tasty. Big portion. Now I can fully recommend this restaurant again. The staff is also great.

Went to the International again today. I could just write everything is great and good. We had Christmas dinner there and again today. The meal took less than 20 minutes and everything was super fresh and super fried. The price-performance ratio is worth more than 5 stars these days... If you can't manage your lavishly filled plate, you can take it home with you and still have something for the next day. Definitely worth a visit... We'll be back soon ;-)

We celebrated my mother's 70th birthday at International today and it was great. We were provided with a separate room for 9 guests and we spent a lovely afternoon there. We were even allowed to bring our own cake. Prices are really great and you get more than expected. The service is really very good and the employees are friendly and accommodating. Large selection of food and drinks. Every wish will be fulfilled. Everyone was completely satisfied. I also love eating there with friends or my parents. There is simply nothing nearby where everything is really right. Price, ambience and service. We have already tried all of the dishes and we have always been completely satisfied. I love coming back to eat with you again and again
