There were 14 of us who spontaneously ate together and everything worked great. The food is super tasty and there was always plenty of supplies. We got free dessert because it was a friend's birthday. The conditions were super friendly so I can only highly recommend it!!

Staff are very friendly and eager to provide a good experience to the guests. They also provide off the menu items upon request. We tried their chole bhature and it was a very filling experience. The thick curd that they provided along with the dish was really enjoyable as well. The prices are quite decent and along with the good food and great staff make this a great Indian restaurant experience in Weimar.

Really good Indian. I used deer tika masala from the Christmas garden and expected somehow buttery soft deer meat, but this is due to my stupidity. My wife thought it was great, the waiters wore turbans and we were served very nicely. There was champagne and some sort of dessert. And all for such a low price as far as the standard measures are concerned.

Wir hatten am Samstag Abend einen Tisch um 19 Uhr reserviert, hatten leider einen Platz direkt beim Eingang erhalten, bei dem es immer zog, wenn Gäste kamen und gingen. Das Essen war gut, aber als die Rechnung kam, wurden wir leider über den Tisch gezogen. Meine Frau hat das "Tagesgericht" bestellt, mit dem außen für einen Preis von 13,50€ geworben wurde. Wir mussten aber den vollen Preis von 19,50 € bezahlen, da wir nicht das Tagesgericht, sondern von der Karte bestellt hätten. Solche Praktiken finde ich einfach nur unverschämt, da fragt man sich, was am Tagesgericht anders gewesen wäre zu dem auf der Karte, besonders da die Beschreibungen der Gerichte absolut identisch sind!

We spent another weekend in Weimar and managed to get a small table on Saturday evening without a reservation! Very friendly staff and free aperitif!! Receive bread with various dips in advance! Unfortunately my dish was lamb, no longer quite warm and the meat wasn't quite as soft/tender. The fish dish was actually supposed to be spicy, but was only seasoned normally, not spyci, enough naam bread was given and additional rice was given upon request! At the end you will receive a small free dessert!! We had dinner there two or three years ago and the main courses were better prepared. But the service is very good and we will come back.

We had reserved places for the visit. However, the restaurant offers enough space so that other guests, without reservations, also had the opportunity to enjoy the good food. The service is very friendly and we felt comfortable.

I actually really love the warmth of this family run restaurant, the many kindnesses of the waiters and the fact that the food is comforting. And consistent. I pretty much stick to the two things on the menu I like, (the palak paneer spinach curry & the mutton curry) and a mango lassi, but as I’ve had them for a decade, I can say they are consistently fine. Regarding the negative comments of some guests, please note that I am a foodie and I have had *stellar* Indian cuisine. And Weimar is not New York City where I used to live and definitely not on the Indian subcontinent so while I feel for people who are expecting something different… or “authentic” this is *not* that. This is a restaurant that literally is called “Taste of India” and has provided an access and entry point using locally available ingredients for mostly German rural customers for decades. It’s NOT a grandmother’s kitchen in India and the people who work there are very kind as is the owner but also *not* perhaps as obsequious as people from a different cultural background might expect. Germans love it here and while I’ve certainly heard the criticisms of those more recently connected to the region, I don’t think it’s fair to tell any restaurant what it should be for you. This is a local place that cooks Indian inspired food for the past 20 years that works for local tastes. Sometimes it’s amazing (I want dosa again please!!!) and I am still waiting for my papri chaat, but mostly it’s just downright comforting and even soul warming for those of us who live here. Also my kids *love* the mango lassi and the standards we order. It’s definitely not cheap but it’s in line with the prices all over Weimar!

We haven't been to an Indian restaurant for a long time, after tonight you have to say "unfortunately". Very friendly staff, the food was great and the ambience with a view of the history of WWW found out that Alexander the Great made it to India 😉

We were there as a group of students. The service was very nice. There was a new table for us, extra schnapps and dessert on the house. Together we joked about Nokia 33 and 2G network. The whole visit was very welcome and we would like to come back :) (8pers)

A not too big restaurant with a rich menu of typical Indian dishes at moderate prices.

It was a very nice evening. We were invited to a business lunch there. And it was true for me in every way. It was delicious and authentic.

That was the first time in Weimar. I really wanted to have a drink, but everything was closed. I went in there and wanted to buy a bottle, but they were kind enough to give me a water bottle.

That was just great. The best Indian ever. Everything was perfect. From the main course to the dessert, everything was top. This restaurant is simply cozy both inside and outside. All the employees were super nice. You always feel welcome here 😊 thanks for the excellent food and great service 👍

At its finest. The Bhunna Chicken was excellent. An aperitif and an espresso are on the house. Anyone who has already had experience with Indian cuisine will not miss anything here. Recommended.

On last week we going in this restaurant for lunch and we are two people.we order vegetable biryani and raita. We had such a lovely evening! It started with the restaurant being very full. We still got a nice table in a prime location. There was a drink on the house beforehand. The food was very tasty (I only knew the quality from India itself). There was also delicious bread on the house. The team gave full performance with the restaurant full! The door was even held open for the guests. After dinner we had a small dessert on the house. I haven't experienced so much hospitality in a long time. We'll definitely be back.

As far as Indian restaurants go this is as good as it gets

An unusual service with charming service (Mr. Sethi), a welcome drink and Indian flat cakes with various sauces on the house. The food comes in rice bowls warmed in a water bath, copper dishes with tea lights and is extremely tasty. At the end there is even a sweet dessert as a greeting from the kitchen. Everything was very high quality and highly recommended!

Very warm service! A pleasant atmosphere and of course good food! The one star deduction is for the toilet area, which was very clean, but the door handle and cistern needed to be repaired.

When we entered the restaurant we were immediately greeted and shown to our tables. The gentleman who served us briefly had a very amusing conversation with us and then left us to organize our orders. After we had made this, things went quite quickly for a group of nine people and our orders were soon in front of us. The food was exquisite and the portions were well worth the price. Many of the dishes come with rice and naan included. The gentleman who served our table was also extremely charming and helped make the evening a memorable experience. Great eatery; just recommended!

Good for years. The taste and quality are still fabulous. The Chicken Vindaloo could be made even spicier. The chicken korma is also very tasty here. Unfortunately I don't live nearby. Then I would eat there more often.

Delicious food, nice service! Sat outside. Restaurant is across the street, so a lot of legwork for the 4 waitresses. Unfortunately there were people next door who still thought it was ok to chain smoke after eating 🤬 But luckily they left.

Su pollo Tikka Masala es una delicia sabrosa, con trozos de pollo tiernos en una salsa de tomate rica y especiada que equilibra perfectamente el calor y la cremosidad. Igualmente impresionante es su Pollo Korma que fue un favor entre los niños, ofreciendo una experiencia más suave pero igualmente satisfactoria con su salsa cremosa, aromática y suculento pollo. El restaurante es limpio y tiene un ambiente acogedor y una excelente selección de bebidas para niños Borh y adultos, por lo que es una opción superior para una comida memorable. Sin duda una visita obligada!

Fine Indian restaurant, exquisite food and great service.

Gelegen in einer ruhigen Ecke von Weimar. Schöner, großer Außenbereich mit ausreichend Bestuhlung und durch große Sonnenschirme gut geschützt. Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Das Essen, welches wir ausgesucht haben, war toll angerichtet und geschmacklich sehr lecker. Als Getränk bestellten wir den Rosé und wir waren sensationell begeistert! Sehr lecker! Preis-/ Leistung war gut angemessen. Da wir ab und an in Weimar einen Kurztrip verbringen, werden wir sicherlich wiederkommen! Und ihr - probiert es aus! Herzlichen Dank!

We had high expectations considering google reviews but we were not satisfied. We ordered three different dishes and in every case chicken was too too dry and a little bit tasteless. We were told that hot sauce was mild, but it was too hot.

Avoid it if you are looking for quick and satisfying meal. I visited Restaurant India in Weimar with my friends and was thoroughly disappointed with the experience. We arrived at 7:10 PM and were excited to try Indian cuisine. However, our enthusiasm was short-lived. We ordered mango lassi and four different curries, which were supposed to come with naan and rice. The mango lassi arrived in 20 minutes, but we had to wait for 1.5 hours for our dinner to arrive. When we asked the waitress about the delay, she told us that they take their time to prepare the food to make it "delicious" for Indian customers. However, the food didn't quite live up to our expectations as it took "1.5 hr" for them to cook. The flavors were dull, and the dishes lacked the taste we were hoping for. What was even more disrespectful was that the waitress didn't apologize or offer any explanation until we specifically asked for one. Firstly, we were not informed that it would take a long time for our food to arrive and secondly the lack of communication and respect from the staff was frustrating. It was clear that they didn't prioritize their customers' satisfaction. We would have chosen a different restaurant if we knew about the long wait times and mediocre food. To make matters worse, the waitress's apathetic attitude towards our concerns left a bad taste in our mouths:( I hope this review will help others to avoid the similar experience.

It's a disaster! Avoid it at any cost! We arrived at the restaurant India Weimar at 7:12 PM, excited for a nice dinner with friends. After ordering mango lassi and four different curries with naan and rice, the only positive was the mango lassi which arrived after 20 minutes. From 7:35 PM, we waited and waited. By 8:30 PM, with no food in sight, I pointed out the burned-down candles to the waitress. Her response? She offered new candles but said nothing about our food. At 8:45 PM, I told my friends we should leave if the food didn't arrive by 9 PM. Finally, at 8:57 PM, our food came. Two hours of waiting for bland, tasteless dishes with a single green chili thrown in as a poor excuse for "spicy." The waitress’s excuse? "Because you guys are Indian, we made it late so that we cook it better." This was both absurd and insulting. When we complained, her apathetic "me bus sorry hi bol sakti hu" was the final straw. We came to celebrate a friend’s birthday, but left feeling disrespected and utterly disappointed. Avoid resturant India Weimar at all costs. The service is atrocious, the food is subpar, and the treatment of fellow Indians is disgraceful. Good bye! Never ever coming back!

Lovely food, but not quite lovely enough for a 2 hour wait time, to then recieve the wrong food. Granted it was very full, but you'd hope they would have the capabilities to cater to the seating they provide. The staff seemed very overwhelmed and unorganised about who had recieved what, if we had alredy gotten rice and Naan or not. At least paying and leaving was swift.

We had a wonderful stay in this restaurant. Right at the beginning there was a greeting from the kitchen with a very tasty sparkling wine. The food was super tasty! I can highly recommend the Sportsman Cocktail! :) For everyone who still has to drive. The cake for dessert was super delicious!!!! Unfortunately, we live very far away so we can spontaneously go out to eat there. But we'll be back! :)
