Great Food Excelent with Kids! we arrived after a late drive from france looking for a good place to eat. If you find yourself in Weimar, Germany, don't miss the chance to dine at INDIAN, a hidden gem perfect for families. Their Chicken Tikka Masala is a flavorful delight, with tender chicken pieces in a rich, spiced tomato sauce that perfectly balances heat and creaminess. Equally impressive is their Chicken Korma wich was a favour between the kids, offering a milder yet equally satisfying experience with its creamy, aromatic sauce and succulent chicken. The restaurant is cleanand has a welcoming atmosphere and an excellent selection of drinks for borh kids and Adults, making it a top choice for a memorable meal. Definitely a must-visit!

Gelegen in einer ruhigen Ecke von Weimar. Schöner, großer Außenbereich mit ausreichend Bestuhlung und durch große Sonnenschirme gut geschützt. Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Das Essen, welches wir ausgesucht haben, war toll angerichtet und geschmacklich sehr lecker. Als Getränk bestellten wir den Rosé und wir waren sensationell begeistert! Sehr lecker! Preis-/ Leistung war gut angemessen. Da wir ab und an in Weimar einen Kurztrip verbringen, werden wir sicherlich wiederkommen! Und ihr - probiert es aus! Herzlichen Dank!

We had high expectations considering google reviews but we were not satisfied. We ordered three different dishes and in every case chicken was too too dry and a little bit tasteless. We were told that hot sauce was mild, but it was too hot.

Avoid it if you are looking for quick and satisfying meal. I visited Restaurant India in Weimar with my friends and was thoroughly disappointed with the experience. We arrived at 7:10 PM and were excited to try Indian cuisine. However, our enthusiasm was short-lived. We ordered mango lassi and four different curries, which were supposed to come with naan and rice. The mango lassi arrived in 20 minutes, but we had to wait for 1.5 hours for our dinner to arrive. When we asked the waitress about the delay, she told us that they take their time to prepare the food to make it "delicious" for Indian customers. However, the food didn't quite live up to our expectations as it took "1.5 hr" for them to cook. The flavors were dull, and the dishes lacked the taste we were hoping for. What was even more disrespectful was that the waitress didn't apologize or offer any explanation until we specifically asked for one. Firstly, we were not informed that it would take a long time for our food to arrive and secondly the lack of communication and respect from the staff was frustrating. It was clear that they didn't prioritize their customers' satisfaction. We would have chosen a different restaurant if we knew about the long wait times and mediocre food. To make matters worse, the waitress's apathetic attitude towards our concerns left a bad taste in our mouths:( I hope this review will help others to avoid the similar experience.

No spicy even after the waitress said she that's why it was delayed. It seemed like they prepared the dishes with whatever ingredients were readily available, compromising the taste. Overall, this was a forgettable experience, and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

It's a disaster! Avoid it at any cost! We arrived at the restaurant India Weimar at 7:12 PM, excited for a nice dinner with friends. After ordering mango lassi and four different curries with naan and rice, the only positive was the mango lassi which arrived after 20 minutes. From 7:35 PM, we waited and waited. By 8:30 PM, with no food in sight, I pointed out the burned-down candles to the waitress. Her response? She offered new candles but said nothing about our food. At 8:45 PM, I told my friends we should leave if the food didn't arrive by 9 PM. Finally, at 8:57 PM, our food came. Two hours of waiting for bland, tasteless dishes with a single green chili thrown in as a poor excuse for "spicy." The waitress’s excuse? "Because you guys are Indian, we made it late so that we cook it better." This was both absurd and insulting. When we complained, her apathetic "me bus sorry hi bol sakti hu" was the final straw. We came to celebrate a friend’s birthday, but left feeling disrespected and utterly disappointed. Avoid resturant India Weimar at all costs. The service is atrocious, the food is subpar, and the treatment of fellow Indians is disgraceful. Good bye! Never ever coming back!

Lovely food, but not quite lovely enough for a 2 hour wait time, to then recieve the wrong food. Granted it was very full, but you'd hope they would have the capabilities to cater to the seating they provide. The staff seemed very overwhelmed and unorganised about who had recieved what, if we had alredy gotten rice and Naan or not. At least paying and leaving was swift.

We had a wonderful stay in this restaurant. Right at the beginning there was a greeting from the kitchen with a very tasty sparkling wine. The food was super tasty! I can highly recommend the Sportsman Cocktail! :) For everyone who still has to drive. The cake for dessert was super delicious!!!! Unfortunately, we live very far away so we can spontaneously go out to eat there. But we'll be back! :)

Went on a Saturday evening during prime time and immediately got a table for four. We also received a small drink and a greeting from the kitchen immediately. The flair was successful, if you like Bollywood you will get your money's worth when it comes to music...vegan and vegetarian dishes are plentiful, the menu was quite extensive and a bit overwhelming. About the food: The waiting time was quite long, but as I said Saturday evening... it tasted great (No. 308) and the portion was definitely generous enough. There are 2 floors, we sat right at the entrance, but it was still comfortable. The only annoyance was the lack of the option to pay by card...

The India restaurant in Schlossgasse is simply recommended, the food and drinks are super tasty, the price-performance ratio is simply top and unbeatable, the staff is very nice, always available for a chat, we've been going there for a few years and have enjoyed it and through satisfied, you feel very comfortable in this atmosphere, you can recommend it with a clear conscience :)!

I'm not a big fan of Indian food, but friends met us there at the request of us and it was okay. You could eat it and I didn't starve, so you can do that.

Mango lassi was delicious, mix platter was nothing. The mix came sizzling on a hot cast iron plate, the ingredients such as potatoes had a charred crust, and the meat selection was unfortunately too dry for my taste. The service was straight away honest: the cards were only issued after an announcement that something would be done. Better to stick with a tikka...

Wow. That's an Indian. We immediately got a delicious, slightly alcoholic drink on the house. Then there were four kinds of dips with crispy bread and something sweet on the house for dessert. That something like this still exists. Our main courses were delicious and the drinks Aperol Spritz and Mango Lassie were lovingly decorated and plentiful. A beautiful atmosphere. Would come back immediately.

Vegetarian food was the worst in a long time. Paneer and vegetables were burnt, the taste was 0 The dessert was extremely tasty and the service was friendly. But we won't be coming back. It's a shame

Excellent service, excellent food and excellent atmosphere!! We ordered dal makhni, chicken tikka masala, and chili chicken. Highly recommend these dishes. The spice level was perfect, and the taste was really delicious. Rahul, the manager, treated us like we were at home and had hearty conversations with us. A lovely person to meet. The place was well crowded but we got our food on time. Do visit for a lovely time and an amazing food experience.

Me and my friends recently went here to a celebrate a birthday party and boy were we in heaven! We had an amazing food experience served with very friendly service. We ordered chicken chilly, chicken tikka masala, dal makhni and mixed pakora. And everything was delicious. It was specially made not extremely spicy so we could enjoy the flavors without burning our tongues. The naan was very soft and freshly made. Our server for the evening was Rahul, and he was such a pleasant person. He shared small anecdotes with us which made us all laugh and enjoy our evening more. Everyone in the restaurant was served a complimentary drink, and such small gestures really do make your day. We will definitely visit again and recommend everyone to visit this restaurant.

We celebrated my mother's 50th birthday here. There were 47 of us and we had the entire first floor to ourselves. Everything was prepared as we had previously discussed it with the restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was like a trip to India. Very authentically delicious Indian cuisine and the price-performance ratio is great. We will be back.

I enjoy eating at Indian restaurants in different cities, but this Indian place is top notch. The staff is without exception friendly and there were nice conversations. The food was very tasty, perfectly seasoned and a large selection for vegetarians and vegans. If I go to Weimar again, I would happily eat here again.

Das Essen schmeckte hervorragend, der Service war sehr freundlich und hilfreich. Zudem gab es ein Getränk und Vorspeise vorneweg und ein Dessert hinterher. Die Speisekarte enthält auch viele vegetarische und vegane Gerichte. Ich hatte vegetarisches Mulai Kofta Curry, leckere Gemüsebällchen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir waren spontan zu 10 Anfang November dort. Der Service war erstklassig und das Essen sehr lecker. Es gab sogar einen Nachtisch aufs Haus. Sollten wir wieder in Weimar sein, werden wir dort gerne wieder Essen gehen.

Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe dort essen. Das Essen war super lecker und auch auf Rückfragen zur Karte wurde uns sehr kompetent weitergeholfen. Der Service war außergewöhnlich freundlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

When we asked only a few days in advance if we could get a catering for 20 people to celebrate our wedding, we were surprisingly welcomed with heartwarming energy and free dessert! Our guests really enjoyed the food till the last grain of rice so this was a huge success! ---- Als wir nur ein paar Tage im Voraus fragten, ob wir ein Catering für 20 Personen bekommen könnten, um unsere Hochzeit zu feiern, wurden wir überraschenderweise mit herzlicher Energie und kostenlosem Dessert empfangen! Unsere Gäste haben das Essen wirklich bis zum letzten Reiskorn genossen, also war es ein großer Erfolg!

Wir durften einen tollen Abend im India verbringen. Obwohl wir eine große Gruppe von 11 Personen waren, fanden wir Platz im Restaurant. Das typisch indische Ambiente mit den vielen kleinen Details war sehr einladend und warm. Das Essen war klasse und der Service die perfekte Mischung aus respektvoller Zurückhaltung und netter, lustiger Bewirtung. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich hier die wirklich große Auswahl an vegetarischen und veganen Speisen. So hat wirklich jeder in unserer Gruppe etwas passendes gefunden. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, haben leider nicht alles aufessen können, weil die Portionen wirklich sehr reichhaltig waren, kommen aber gern wieder.

Frische gute indische Küche im Familienbetrieb. Sehr sympathische Bedienung und gute Küche. Immer wieder gerne.
