Restaurant Il Lago am Stadtwaldsee in Bremen

I absolutely cannot recommend eating here. We originally wanted to sit at another nice open-air café, but unfortunately they were closed. There were four of us with a dog and we came for coffee and cake. The coffee: carelessly served from the fully automatic machine. They don't value coffee and have minimal knowledge of the place – that's simply out of step with the times. Not offering oat milk in 2025 is simply outdated. The cake: it gave me the feeling they really just bought the cheapest thing from the Metro frozen food section. Not tasty, not fresh. Looking at the neighboring tables, the food looked okay, but way overpriced for what it was. I wouldn't come back here and wouldn't even remotely recommend it. In beautiful weather, we sat on the covered terrace, covered in plastic. There wasn't a breath of wind, and it was incredibly stuffy. Our dog wasn't offered any water. The staff is mediocre; half-full cups were snatched from our table without asking, and when we said at the checkout that we'd like to pay separately, but the person typed in "together," we were given a stupid look. It doesn't have to be that way. All in all, the concept of this place seems to me to be simply designed to extract as much money as possible from people who want to sit by the water and deliver absolutely nothing in return. For the future, I would really like to see a change in management and a more pleasant atmosphere.

The food was good👌 Service was quick and friendly. The location was very nice. One of the waitresses, however, had apparently previously worked at the break dancers' club; she kept trying to make funny carousel jokes, but they didn't go down well. The absolute negative point: we were there with 12 people for dinner and drinks, but one drink on the house was probably too much! Instead, there was a joke (presumably from the manager). Not particularly hospitable...

Hello, we were there on a Saturday at 7 p.m. We were warmly welcomed. Our table was right next to the sunroom, in the main dining room. The glass front to the winter garden was open and cold air was drawn in. When we told the waiter he wanted to take care of it, but he didn't. The order was taken quickly and the dishes we ordered found their way to our table quickly. Unfortunately, some of the mussels were only lukewarm or cold. And another meal had olives in it even though we specifically ordered without them. Well, the mussels were warmed up again and we then picked out the olives ourselves. Unfortunately, we were apparently overlooked by the service so we only had one round of drinks. We'll let some time pass before we come here again. I think the service is too important if you want to have a nice evening.

Terribly unfriendly, you didn't feel welcome, apart from the fact that dogs aren't welcome either. You don't have to wait 15 minutes for a cappuccino and get unfriendly answers when you ask. Not recommended for me.

We were in this beautiful location this afternoon. Had a nice place in the winter garden. The menu offers many great dishes. The salmon spinach gratin and the bread salad were extremely tasty. We'll definitely be back.

We wanted to go to the toilet there and were willing to pay for it. We were rejected in an extremely unfriendly manner. Hospitality should be the highest goal in gastronomy.

Ach du meine Güte, was war das bitte? Selten so einen miserablen Service erlebt. Wie schade für dieses hervorragend gelegene Restaurant. In direkter Nachbarschaft befindet sich ein Campingplatz, hoffentlich strengt man sich in der Touristen-Hochsaison mehr für seine Gäste an. Ansonsten peinlich für unser schöne Stadt Bremen. Wir erhielten unser Essen, ein bestelltes Getränk und dann hielten sich die Herren an ihrem Bartresen auf. Einer hing mit dem Oberkörper handyschauend über dem Tisch. Meine Freundinnen hätten gerne noch etwas zu trinken bestellt, das war aber mangels Interesse und Aufmerksamkeit der Servicemitarbeiter nicht möglich. Um 21.30 Uhr bemerkte man sehr deutlich, dass man uns gerne gehen sehen wollte. 2,5 Stunden an einem Getränk sitzend, entschieden wir dann auch das Lokal zu verlassen. Es gab noch eine unprofessionelle Beratung zu einem falsch gebuchten Getränk und dann knallte man die Tür laut hinter uns zu. Autsch!

Super cheap compared to other restaurants and extremely tasty. All pizzas taste great and I can recommend the spinach casserole, Spinach Spezial. Magnificent view of the Unisee, the terrace is particularly recommended in summer. It's also possible to eat in the winter garden with your dog. Guests who just want to have a drink are just as welcome.

After we couldn't visit two child-friendly restaurants because they were still closed, we ended up at il Lago. It is open plan, but still cozy and clean. However, I can't comment on the toilets. The prices are reasonable. The staff is great, because the children were also warmly welcomed and had fun. I'm ashamed that I didn't leave more tip, but I'll correct it in the near future. I thought it was great.

The restaurant is fantastic, it's right on a lake. Unfortunately, I was there in winter, so I couldn't use the terrace right on the water. The building looks very modern and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I have two tips for improvement: 1. I would give the staff uniform clothing, or at least uniform. Polo shirts or sweatshirts. That would be very good for the restaurant. 2. When we were there, unfortunately there weren't many guests, but there were three people for service and one person behind the bar. The people in service were constantly running back and forth in the restaurant like wolves in a cage. That seemed very uneasy to us. I understand that it's boring when there's nothing to do, but it would have been better if someone had gone home or retreated to a staff room. We would go there again at any time. If we come back to Bremen, we would be happy to book a table again.

Ate pizza and steak and it was very good. Friendly service and nice rooms. We would come again.

We recently went there for the second time. And once again we had a wonderful evening. Everything was right🌟 The food was delicious, the service was attentive and quick, the atmosphere was warm and cozy, the prices were completely okay... ...and now the next visit is being planned...✨️

In the Il Lago restaurant at Stadtwaldsee, the service is always excellent. One waiter in particular, who has probably been working there for a long time, does a great job - friendly, attentive and very professional. We always enjoy coming here because of the great service. Thank you!

Very nice atmosphere, modern, reservations necessary. Price/performance is absolutely ok. Fast and attentive service. The outside terrace area is in winter = tented = child-friendly, also special dishes for the little ones, high chairs.

A pretty Italian restaurant in a beautiful location directly on the Stadtwaldsee. There is seating inside, in a "winter garden" (open in summer, closed in winter with heaters) and also outside on a large terrace right by the lake. The service team is very nice and careful. The food is typically Italian and very tasty. You can also have breakfast there, but there is only a "small" and a "large" breakfast to choose from and the circulation is run of the mill. So you shouldn't expect much. But it is relatively cheap. The prices for the hot dishes are moderate. You should definitely make a reservation here, as the restaurant is usually quite busy. The parking situation is terrible. In summer it's pure luck if you can get a parking space.

Das Ambiente ist auch im nebligen November toll, der Service sehr zurückhaltend und sachlich, das Angebot ist gar nicht zeitgemäß: Es gibt keine veganen Alternativen, ausschließlich Kuhmilch (auch keine lactosefreie) und das Essen (Bruschetta) dauerte im fast leeren Lokal 45 min. WLAN für Gäste auch Fehlanzeige. Und dies alles ohne erkennbares Interesse der Mitarbeiter:innen. Schade.

Beautiful location, but unfortunately run by an untrained team. The supervisor present obviously doesn't pay attention to the appearance of his employees, because they greet the guests with unironed shirts and an arrogant demeanor. The supervisor seemed very unprofessional and arrogant to us, mostly like the rest of the staff. We ordered breakfast, which we waited 50 minutes for. have waited. Other guests present were also annoyed when I asked when breakfast would come. When the waitress asked the kitchen staff, there was a loud argument between the kitchen staff and the waiter. So much so that it made me uncomfortable that I even asked. The answer was quite vague, it will probably come soon. It's such a shame that such a beautiful location ended up in such hands. We always liked going there, but not just because of the wonderful view of the lake. We were again taught better to avoid this beautiful location because guests are not welcome there. If you're lucky, you'll be served by one cellar who makes an effort and is friendly... but he doesn't have any gastronomic knowledge, even if he does his best.

Very tasty food at reasonable prices. So far we have always been on the weekend and the weather was nice. It can happen that you have to wait a while for the food. But it's definitely worth it.

Nice location right on the water, I can't recommend pizza. is not a real pizza, but a soft dough flatbread, probably frozen. I can't comment on the rest of the food. Beer was well tapped, Krone was already very collapsed, but ok, there was a lot going on. Staff harshly shooed people away from the neighboring table who wanted to sit there. Card payments only from 10€, which is outdated.

Four of us had dinner here on a Sunday evening in August and were lucky to get a table on the terrace. The service was great and the staff was very friendly and attentive even though all the tables in the restaurant, winter garden and on the terrace were occupied. The drink order was quickly brought to the table. It took a little longer to eat, but it was very full. The dishes were very tasty 😋 and we were very satisfied 😀. Starter: Bruschetta Main courses: Tagliatelle with salmon, curry/turkey gratin, chanterelles with prawns & pizza. You are all doing a great job ⭐️

Die Lage ist wunderbar. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Das Essen aber sehr enttäuschend. Pfifferlinge mit Rührei und Bratkartoffeln: die Pfifferlinge waren in einem matschigen Zustand. Den Bratkartoffeln fehlte mangels Speck und Würze der Biss. Das Rührei konnte es dann auch nicht mehr herausreißen. Insgesamt sehr enttäuschen.

Great atmosphere with a terrace right on the lake. Food and service were good. It took a bit of time and the dishes on the menu aren't all authentically Italian. A typical example of this is the carbonara with cream sauce and you also get schnitzel and rollo here, which somehow doesn't fit with an Italian restaurant. Still, overall it tasted good.

We visited this restaurant with the whole family on September 1, 2024, and were very pleased! The food was delicious and perfectly prepared - there was something to suit everyone's tastes. I was especially impressed by the atmosphere: the view of a beautiful pond created a feeling of calm and tranquility. The staff did not disappoint either - everyone was responsive and friendly, the service was at a high level. We will definitely come back here again!

Das Lokal liegt toll direkt am Stadtwaldsee. Dafür gibt’s 5 Sterne! Das Essen konnte da leider nicht mithalten, es war nur mittelmäßig. Die Lasagne war weit vom italienischen Original entfernt, die Pizza aber ganz gut. Der Nachtisch hat wiederum auch nicht überzeugt. Wegen des Essens würden wir nicht wiederkommen, aber für ein Getränk auf der Terrasse.

Surprisingly delicious restaurant in a wonderful location on Lake Unisee. The tagliatelle with chanterelles was better than I expected. The tiramisu was nice and soggy, as it should be. Unfortunately, the female waitress was always very curt and paid no attention to you. That was rather unpleasant. But the male waitresses were on the ball and courteous. That would be the only drawback. But still a great trip. Gladly again. You can watch the surfers do their tricks.

First of all, everything that is great: the terrace, 2 to 3 service staff of about 8! That's it! The rest of the service staff was mushy. We had reserved. When we arrived we immediately heard: "Dogs have to go out!" Neither a hello or understanding with a note or anything like that. The allocation of space on the terrace was catastrophic. We weren't allowed to turn a table of 4 into a table of 6, instead we had to move 6 to a table of 4. There were two more chairs, but the table was overloaded. The reason was that we needed the space for additional guests. The food was average but good. Frozen croquettes, soggy sauce. It was supposed to be Gorgonzola sauce but there was no trace of cheese. Instead of green asparagus, broccoli was on the plate without being asked. The food for 6 people came lukewarm and despite the hot day, the food quickly got cold. I only visit this restaurant by invitation and I wouldn't recommend it. Update from 8/4/23: We repeatedly warned our dog that the dog had to stay outside. A friendly note would have helped the mood. Food average. Location on the lake good. Updated 8/4/24 This time we left our dog at home. Based on the repeated date: yes, it is a recurring birthday party in a location desired by the birthday child. The prices have increased but the portions are reasonable. My pork medallions (3) were cut incorrectly by the chef, so that even with a steak knife they were fibrous to split. The meat was neither salted nor peppered. However, it was well fried. The cognac mushroom pepper sauce was a convenience product sauce as a base. Probably something changed. Taste-wise acceptable. Croquettes? Convenience! But who does that themselves? The service was OK. The younger the friendlier the older the... Conclusion: I was invited again and you don't look a gift horse in the mouth...I wouldn't choose this restaurant myself. We'll definitely see each other again next year for the same birthday. 😭

Leider wurden wir dieses Mal maßlos enttäuscht. Der Service war unfreundlich, unkompetent und desinteressiert. Die Auswahl aus der Wochenkarte - Leber - kam als lieblos hergerichteter Teller: ein stück dünne zähe Leber auf Kartoffelpüree. Die Pizza war kalt, der Käse trocken und der Rand hart. Als ich reklamiert habe, wurde mir der Teller mit dem Kommentar folgendem weggenommen: wir machen die Pizza immer so und ich muss sie Ihnen berechnen. Schade, wir haben die Mittagspause auf der Terrasse immer sehr genossen. Aber wir machen jetzt eine Pause.

In a great location, Il Lago with its terrace on Lake Unisee is a perfect excursion destination in summer when the weather is good. Unfortunately there are no bike racks. If asked, I should park my bike somewhere on the side. I wasn't allowed to put it in front of the tarpaulin winter garden because it could potentially be damaged if the bike fell over. The waitress was already slightly annoyed at this point. And to be honest, me too. Because I wanted to keep an eye on my expensive bike even if it couldn't be safely connected. According to the operator, they are not allowed to set up bike racks because it is a nature reserve. Be it as it may... The breakfast menu is very small and not particularly imaginative. When asked whether you could order the antipasti plate for breakfast, the waitress laughed and simply said that it wouldn't be available until much later. Well, then not. Alternatively, I ordered a portion of scrambled eggs. Overall, the vegetarian small breakfast was okay. Semi-hard cheese, camembert, tomato mozzarella, sheep cheese and jam. Not a culinary highlight. But good average. The view pulls it out. However, I wouldn't go there again for the service. I'm a fan of courteous, attentive service. After breakfast we weren't even asked if we had any further requests. So we didn't order any more cold drinks. Price is okay. Will I come back? Maybe, but not for breakfast.

The service was very quick and courteous. A tiny point of criticism (not enough gamba) was immediately taken as an opportunity to offer us a grappa. Tip top! We'd love to come back.

Wunderschöne Location, die aber leider von einem nicht ausgebildeten Team betrieben wird. Anwesender Vorgesetzter achtet offensichtlich nicht auf das Erscheinungsbild seiner Mitarbeiter, denn diese empfangen die Gäste mit ungebügelten Hemden und überheblichen Auftreten. Der Vorgesetzte wirkte auf uns sehr unprofessionell und überheblich, überwiegend wie das restlich Personal. Wir bestellten Frühstück, auf das wir 50min. gewartet haben. Auch andere anwesende Gäste waren bereits verärgert, als ich nachfragte, wann das Frühstück denn nun kommt. Als die Bedienung beim Küchenpersonal nachfragte, gab es eine laute Auseinandersetzung zwischen dem Küchenpersonal und dem Kellner. So, dass es mir schon unangenehm gewesen ist, dass ich überhaupt nachgefragt habe. Die Antwort war dann ziemlich wage, es wird wohl bald kommen.. Es ist so schade, dass so eine schöne Location in solchen Händen gelandet ist. Wir sind früher immer gerne dort gewesen, aber früher nicht nur wegen dem herrlichen Blick auf den See. Wir wurden wieder eines Besseren belehrt, diese schöne Location zu meiden, denn Gäste sind dort nicht willkommen. Wenn man Glück hat, dann wird man von dem einen Keller bedient, der sich Mühe gibt und freundlich ist.. aber gastronomische Kenntnisse hat er nicht, auch wenn er sein Möglichstes gibt.

Ich bin Stammgast in diesem Lokal und empfehle es gerne weiter. Die Lage und der Blick auf den See ist einfach wunderschön. Das Personal ist immer sehr bemüht und total freundlich, natürlich kann aber auch ihnen mal ein Fehler unterlaufen. Hier würde ich mir von den Gästen bei Kritik einen freundlicheren Ton und etwas mehr Toleranz wünschen, wir machen alle mal VERSEHENTLICH einen Fehler! Die Getränke kommen immer sehr schnell und das Essen danach sehr zeitnah. Die Küche ist ständig bemüht die Gerichte zu verbessern und der Saison anzupassen. Natürlich finden Sie hier keine Haute Cuisine, es ist eben ein Restaurant am See und Campingplatz mit entsprechender Klientel, dafür aber dann doch sehr gut. Leider sind auch in diesem Lokal die Preise in den letzten zwei Jahren ständig gestiegen, die Schmerzgrenze ist für mich bald erreicht. Im Moment stimmt allerdings noch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und ich komme weiterhin gerne. Die Gastronomen müssen sich aber nicht über fehlende Gäste wundern, wer soll sich denn in Zukunft noch einen Restaurantbesuch leisten können!

Top location with a beautiful view of the lake. Tried the lunch menu. The fish and the gratin were okay, although you couldn't really taste the Gorgonzola sauce. My daughter had the ground beef pizza. The pizza came to the table a few minutes later than the other two dishes and was not cooked through at the bottom. There was a pool of oil under the pizza. We were hungry and of course we ate. After I asked the rude waiter if this was normal, he tried to explain to me that the ground beef was very fatty and that it ran down onto the plate. No insight that the pizza was in the oven too short or anything like that. No apology or any attempt to defuse the situation. Simply cashed in ice cold and dumped. Once and never again.

Wir wollten die schöne Lage des Restaurants zu Mittag nutzen, um schön zu Essen und eine Flasche Wein zu trinken. So bestellten wir eine Flasche Weißwein für etwa 30 Euro, eine Flasche Wasser und zwei Gerichte aus der Karte. Der gelieferte Wein war nicht sehr kalt und ein Kühler wurde nicht geliefert. Auf Nachfrage kam ein Vilsa Cover ohne jede Kühlfunktion. Ich ging dann hinein und verlangte einen richtigen Kühler mit Eiswürfeln und Wasser. Keiner wusste, was das ist. Wir bestellten das Essen ab und bezahlten Wein und Wasser, ohne es verzehrt zu haben. Ohne jede gastronomische Ausbildung wandeln dort Menschen herum, die von gepflegtem Essen und Weintrinken so absolut keine Ahnung haben. Übrigens haben ganz viele Gäste Pizza gegessen, ohne das es auch nur einen Hauch vom Pizzaofen Geruch gab.

Great place with good food. Some people complain here about rude staff and the fact that one cannot pay by card. We found the staff very nice, cheerful and helpful. We left without paying and came back to pay after withdrawing cash, no problem at all. Highly recommended!

For the first time as a Bremer in "il lago".. Shame... A great meal, from the Bruscetta starter (best ever) to the fantastic Quattro Stagione pizza and espresso with vanilla ice cream.. Friendly, attentive service... perfect all around and recommended without reservations .. not to forget the idyllic location directly on the Stadtwaldsee..

The atmosphere there is very nice, but the seats are uncomfortable, the staff wasn't particularly enthusiastic and you were told to order the main course and starter together? You had to wait a long time to even be served and as a group of 3 you couldn't even keep 1 menu. Tomato mozzarella didn't necessarily taste good either, the tomatoes had no taste and the garlic bread was simply a pizza-like bread with olives, pepperoni and hot cheese. So in summary, it's a nice location but the food is not recommended.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed today. My better half reserved a table for my birthday 3 weeks ago, and today he even called again before we arrived and agreed that the table should be decorated for me. When we arrived nothing was prepared, we were told that we should wait a moment, a tablecloth was spread out on the table and unfortunately that was it. It was very disappointing for both of us. The food was super tasty and the atmosphere was also very nice.

We always find it beautiful there. Outside and inside. Everyone is nice and very attentive. The view of and over the lake is so beautiful. Dogs are allowed to be outside at all times, but they are not welcome inside and I think that's a shame. If the dogs are properly trained then they should come in too.

Very nicely located on Lake Unisee. The pizza is very good. If the weather cooperates, there is a great view and a great ambience on the outside terrace.

If you are looking for a cool restaurant by the lake that has excellent cuisine, you have come to the right place. We took a nice walk around the lake and stopped halfway there. Friendly staff, attentive service, delicious food… what more could you want? And the weather cooperated brilliantly...

I've rarely seen something so unfriendly, the older waiter complained at us in front of the other guests (there were a lot of them) because we wanted to sit under the umbrella for 4 people, it was raining, but the table was for 2 people, we weren't allowed to move together and they should Take tables of 4 under the rain, but with tone dialing, which is not part of gastro service. We then walked away.
