Food and atmosphere was excellent at a reasonable price. The gnocchi was awesome

I actually wanted to show my dear wife Bremen's city center in the bright sunshine. There was a fantastic, colorful "Bremen Freimarkt parade" in typical North German weather. With a bit of imagination, some of the techno floats almost gave us a little "Love Parade" feeling... Now, quickly warm up and eat something hot! In our familiar Berlin, there would be at least three to five kebab stands within sight in all four directions, plus the same number of currywurst options. In Bremen, we found this osteria around two and a half blocks away, not far from the banks of the Weser. An appealing Italian menu was offered even before we entered. Then: a warm welcome! Genuine joy! Good vibes! Tables festively set with white tablecloths, a pleasant warmth in the room, people passionately discussing things in three or four languages ​​(people live here), remarkably comfortable chairs. A natural, feel-good atmosphere – Italian indeed! Charming ladies who immediately took care of us with beaming joy. We quickly agreed, after receiving charming advice, "something nice and hot, healthy, not too rich" (we were still planning to explore the city). "Two fish soups, dry wine spritzer, water per favore – the food – after the delicious bread greeting from the kitchen – not only smelled excellent, it tasted just as good. We felt instantly better, we could have something sweet to finish it off. So "one creme brulee with two spoons" with espresso, of course. Where can you possibly stop time here? Last but not least, I left my gloves on the chair next to me. Already on the highway, it was Patrycja on the phone again, who immediately told me: "Yes, we found them. Of course we'll mail them to you." – wow, once again deeply impressed and pleasantly surprised. A real recommendation to the rest of the Google world -> food, service, atmosphere = top!!! We'll definitely be back when we're in Bremen. Mille grazie!

Top-notch restaurant with the best Italian food! Family-run, the owner and his wife are at the open grill/oven in the middle of the restaurant every day, and both always have a few kind words to say. The service is absolutely excellent, with great attention to detail and a super friendly atmosphere. The food is truly top-quality, which does come at a price, but I'm happy to pay that. Keep up the good work, dear Osteria team.

Not recommended. Very uncomfortable, loud, and the language on the plate was nonexistent... as we all know, eating isn't just about eating. But the service was so carelessly presented, with no decorations or anything... A real shame for the prices! And there was visibly dust on the counter (and it hasn't been there since yesterday) where the drinks are made... We definitely won't be coming back.

Sometimes you just want to pamper yourself and be pampered. The food was truly sensational, and the atmosphere was welcoming, open, and friendly. I highly recommend it. Perfection without arrogance.

Disappointing Service We didn't have a reservation, but the staff sat us at a free table. Nothing happened after that for a long time. The previous guests' dirty dishes were still there for 50 minutes. No apology. After another 20 minutes, we left with menus in hand. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.

A cult restaurant with character If you love Italian cuisine in a rustic yet high-quality setting, this is the place for you. The quality of the food is consistently good – traditional, down-to-earth. The service is warm and direct, which may not be immediately apparent to everyone, but that's precisely what makes this restaurant so special. It's not a trendy, trendy spot, but a true Bremen staple with a rich history and an unbeatable location. The style: Rustic, informal, classic Italian with a home-style twist. The wine list: Superb, with mature Italian classics. The location: Outside, you sit on the ground floor with a view of the Weser River. The interior is accessible via a staircase, as are the restrooms in the basement. For us, it was an all-round successful evening – we felt very comfortable and will definitely be back!

The meal received a 1* rating. The pasta was completely flavorless, despite the garlic we ordered. The garlic tasted like water. The pasta wasn't seasoned, no kick, nothing. The extra request for garlic didn't go down well in the kitchen, and the waitress had to justify herself to the chef. It's unfortunate with an open kitchen so close to the guests. There was no sense of hospitality. At least the waiter offered a grappa as an apology. Hence, a 3* rating, which overall feels more like a 2*. We won't be back.

Food not good. Price quality is too far apart. Moreover my own food (chicken fillet) was not cooked properly. Slow but somewhat friendly service.

We had a wonderful dinner without a reservation. The appetizers and both pasta dishes were excellent. The father cooks in the open kitchen. The prices are exceptionally fair for the quality offered, including the bottle of wine. The absolutely friendly service (Patrizia) deserves special mention. This makes eating out fun. Our tip for Bremen.

Incredibly good food with a great PLV. The ambience is rather simple, but the food is more lovingly prepared. All the side dishes went great with the main course and there is also a great dessert variation. The service was friendly and attentive. A touch of Italy in Northern Germany. I'd love to come back!

They have not completely kept up with the times. The decoration of the dishes (which tasted great) and the bowl of lettuce with simple dressing were particularly disappointing. (Delicious) Piece of meat with a sauce on an otherwise undressed plate.

Why do you go out to eat? Because you want better quality than at home, nice service and a nice ambience. The food here is mediocre (Hello Fresh would get 3-4 stars), overpriced and it's just very noisy. There may be people who like that. My wife and I don't.

The steak was good...but the potatoes and the salad, especially the dressing, were an absolute failure. As a result, the food was way too expensive.

Portions are far too small and still fair for the price

Oh man...that's what a hard landing feels like. It's been a long time since I've had a salad (with turkey) that was really bad. The meat was extremely seared, the vegetables were cut as if a child had chopped and draped them. Unfortunately, the dressing was totally unpleasant (perhaps you should ask the guest what kind of dressing they would like instead of drowning it in balsamic vinegar according to the motto #EatOrDie....) Outside, something was constantly blowing from the trees onto the plates and the table/chair area could use a broom. Always enjoy fighting but today was really disappointing.

Zum wiederholten Mal waren wir in der Osteria zu Gast. Und wieder haben wir uns vom 5-Gänge-Menü überraschen lassen. Meine Frau hatte die Fisch-, ich die Fleischvariante. Dazu gab es eine perfekt passende Weinempfehlung vom kompetenten Service. In der Osteria merkt man, dass gerne und mit Liebe gekocht wird. Frische Zutaten und begnadete Köche, deren Kunst man in der offenen Küche beobachten kann, machen den Besuch zu einem echten Erlebnis. Auch wenn die Anreise weit ist, der Weg lohnt sich. Wir kommen wieder, danke an die wundervolle Crew.

Wir hatten an einem angenehm warmen Augustabend einen Tisch unter freiem Himmel. Die Stimmung war wunderbar. Die Bedienung war freundlich, aber von der Zahl der Gäste etwas überfordert. Das Essen war gut und schmackhaft. Ich hatte eine Fischsuppe, danach Seeteufel und zum Abschluss Zabaione.

Heerlijk gegeten en gedronken, lekker buiten gezeten. Biertje bij en heerlijke fles rode wijn Dolcetto D’alba. Vooraf carpaccio van zalm met broodje en kruidenboter. Hoofdgerecht Garnalen met parmaham en champignons en ossenhaas met gorgonzola. Top bereid en heerlijk van smaak. Het was er erg druk maar personeel hield de aandacht erbij.

We are in Bremen two to three times a year. We have been visiting the Osteria for what feels like almost ten years and are always very satisfied. This time we got to know the chef personally. And this time too we were thrilled and are already looking forward to the next visit. Everything worked fine again now!!!

The ambience is classically outdated. However, if you like plastic ceilings, this shouldn't be a problem. The toilets are dirty. My lasagna was watery and the noodles were too soft. Not seasoned enough for my taste. My husband's gnocchi, however, was delicious. However, there was a fly stuck to the inside of his beer glass. The service person brought a new one, which was also dirty. Overall, less recommended.

Es tut mir leid, aber das essen, was wir bekamen war einfach furchtbar. Das saltimbocca war völlig zerfleddert und geschmacklich eine absolute Katastrophe. Die Kartoffeln dazu waren vom Vortag und lieblos mit einem Klecks Spinat auf den Teller geklatscht , teilweise waren sie noch nicht einmal gar. Dafür waren die Preise gepfeffert. Schade um so ein Lokal in dieser schönen Lage. Ich werde definitiv nicht wieder kommen.

Unfortunately fatal!!! It is not the first time I come to this restaurant but this will be the last time. How is it possible that arrogance, apathy and rudeness towards a client arise more here? And add that they prefer that the client go somewhere else and that the boss is so disrespectful and does not let a woman speak, implying that she was escalating the conversation by just saying “excuse me but” in a cordial tone? This is not from a man with values. I do not recommend this site at all…

Unfortunately, my experience at the Osteria Restaurant in Bremen city center was very disappointing. The service was extremely poor and the treatment by the staff was disgraceful. I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Very very good restaurant. It was my first time there with a well-known group and the chef introduced himself to me personally. The food was prepared very quickly but not in the classic fast food way. There was nothing to complain about in terms of taste. The portion was very good. Clear recommendation. I will definitely visit this restaurant again on my next visit.

We went in and noticed such a good smell coming from the partly open kitchen. We waited a long time at the square outside, but there was a bit more going on in the evening. The dishes are a bit overpriced and the initially perceived smell from the kitchen was not reflected in the taste of the dishes. It was tasty but that wasn't what you needed to go to the restaurant for. I wouldn't recommend lasagne or antipasti. Maybe better next time.

Way too loud. Chairs rumble loudly on the stone floor when they are moved and meat is constantly being pounded loudly in the open kitchen. Unfortunately it's impossible to relax...

I usually never write reviews, but we ate here on a recommendation and were extremely disappointed. The service was unfriendly and inattentive. Not to mention the food. Potatoes weren't cooked through, the meat was ordered medium rare and delivered almost rare, the lasagne didn't taste like anything. There wasn't even a question about whether it was tasty. When we said nicely when we were paying what we didn't like so that the kitchen would know, the (presumably) head chef looked unfriendly the whole time and in the end didn't say goodbye to us, but she did say goodbye to everyone else. They didn't even apologize, they just talked it out of it. Our standards are really not high, but you should expect friendliness and empathy.

Too expensive, small mixed salad 150g for €7.50 is not possible, panini is too hard on the bottom etc. Open kitchen is cool but no pizza and in general there has to be more... mediocre

I got incredibly sick after eating black squid spaghetti here. The taste was already suspicious, it must have been quite old. The service was terrible, the waiter treated us like we were there to bother him. Inside is ugly, nothing justifies the prices of food.

Nothing special and really little choice. No pizza, no bruschetta, etc. thought it was an Italian restaurant

On the day of the reservation, I called the restaurant to ask if it would be possible to arrive 30 minutes earlier before the reservation was confirmed. I was told on the phone that there was no reservation in my name (despite written confirmation via email!!!) and that there would be no more free tables for today. After I mentioned that the reservation had been confirmed to me in writing, I was told in a rather unfriendly tone that there was nothing more they could do for me and that I should try another day. Great statement on Valentine's Day - simply an impossible service.

Thursday, evening 7:30 p.m. That was completely to my liking. Reception, Italian warm, service super attentive. I had a wonderful vitello tonnato and then a lamb fillet with spinach and potatoes on the side. The lamb fillet with roasted garlic, a dream. You just feel comfortable. White wine recommendation was 100 percent suitable. Price performance in line. Strong recommendation, reserve a table.

Nach dem Besuch eines tolles Theaterschiff Besuches, wollten wir noch eine Kleinigkeit essen und standen vor dem Osteria, welches sehr gemütlich wirkte und haben, nachdem es zu dieser Uhrzeit noch sehr voll war, einen Tisch gleich in der Nähe der Theke zugewiesen bekommen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, wir bestellten Getränke und kurze Zeit später kam das Essen, eine Nudelspeise mit Lachs. Während des Essens hatte ich auf einmal einen sehr aggressiven Geruch in der Nase, so dass das Essen kaum noch schmeckte. Wir konnten dann feststellen, dass jemand hinter uns schon sauber machte und zwar mit einem chlorhaltigem Reinigungsmittel ...
