The restaurant thrives on its exposed location directly at the entrance to the Hackesche Höfe. Unfortunately, the quality of the food cannot fully match the somewhat high prices. The fried chicken is fried a bit carelessly. The food was a bit underseasoned. Service is tried hard, but there is a lot of room for improvement in terms of advice (wine, food).

Das Essen war sehr gut und die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Getränke und Essen wurden schnell gebracht. Man sitzt am Rand des Hackischen Marktes. Der Außenbereich ist abgegrenzt.

Had Salmon which was delicious . The potato side was also good which looked like fried potatoes.

“Brasserie” type restaurant, serving different specialties, not particularly cheap, count on 34€ for the Wiener Schnitzel, you mainly pay for the location. Rude waiter at the end of service, thought we wouldn't leave him a tip because it was not given on the payment card directly but left on the table. It spoils the whole thing and we are left with a negative feeling.

Restaurant Hackescher Hof is a unique place that is worth visiting if you are in the area. The food is extremely tasty, although a bit expensive, which is compensated by the high quality of the dishes and their careful preparation. The card includes, among others: classics of German cuisine that are deliciously prepared. Service - polite and professional. It is certainly a very good place for an elegant lunch or dinner.

A very nice culinary experience here in Berlin. We tried five different types of schnitzel, the pretzel and sauces were amazing. The beer was free flowing and delightful. Sven our waiter was so cordial and suggestion on choices were spot on. We will return.

Really great food and really great service, would reccomend

Been there again after weeks. Still for me the best breakfast restaurant for business meetings in Berlin. There is enough space, the atmosphere is quiet and dignified, the service is top and the food and drinks are as you would expect. There are no unusual extras on the menu. Everything is very classic and subtle. Also centrally located. Top standard for years. I look forward to the next visit.

Dinner once, breakfast once over several years… everything was great. Tourist hotspot, but still picked up personally. Not necessarily “hip”, but still cool, between old Berlin, a little East Berlin and also modern, we always found it tasty, great service and beautiful. Always come back.

I used to enjoy going there, but now it's not as good as it used to be. The service is sometimes good, but everything takes a long time. Both the food and the drinks. The food is good, but I think the prices are pretty cheeky! For a Caesar salad 19€ and then the portion isn't really that big. If at least the rest were correct, we could perhaps ignore it.

Great service and very good food

Very unpleasant experience. There was a misunderstanding and the waiter brought the wrong dish (large salad instead of a side salad). Which can just happen. But to then force the guest's attention on this by saying that it has already been paid in, so they have to take it now, is not possible! Mind you: at full price for 16 or 17 euros! Unfortunately, I let myself be caught off guard at that moment instead of rejecting it and was very annoyed afterwards. I think that's really bad service. To compensate, there was supposed to be an espresso on the house, which was then forgotten for another 30 minutes. Otherwise the waiter was quite nice. The food was very tasty. But not necessarily at that price either. Ambience is quite nice. But overall nothing that could have made up for the experience. I felt very uncomfortable and I have very unpleasant memories of the evening. I definitely won't come here anymore.

Never again. I've always been to the restaurant on business, with committees and other committees - and although the portions are small and the service is a bit scatterbrained, it's always been nice. Yesterday I was there privately for the first time. Rather by chance, I strolled past with my husband. With fond memories, I suggested stopping in for an espresso and a Williams Christ. We were greeted warmly (I assume by the boss since he wasn't wearing a uniform like the other waiters) and seated at the window. He immediately brought us the card. So far so good. Another waiter came to order. When we ordered, he whispered to us indignantly that if we didn't eat, we would have to sit at another table. And walked away. I can understand the idea. But since we have not placed ourselves unworthy, I at least expect that our own mistakes will be seen and friendliness will be maintained. The behavior was reminiscent of the famous Berlin bus drivers. Embarrassed, we moved around. The place was almost empty. It still took forever until we got our order. We couldn't enjoy it anymore either. It was also my husband's birthday. I really regretted leading him into this. The table by the window remained empty until we left. It was the last time I was in this two-tier store for both personal and business purposes. Visit on December 21st, 2022 in the evening - unfortunately I posted the entry incorrectly under the Hackesche Höfe. The restaurant is meant.

Vom Konzept her gut durchdachtes Schnitzelrestaurant. Super Idee mit den Snack-und NORmahl Portionsgrößen zum Durchtesten. Wenn man sich durch die Snackgrößen testet, wird es schnell sehr preisintensiv. Wenn die Snacks ohne gebuchte Beilage gebracht werden, könnte noch ein wenig Deko das Bild optimieren. Ich war ein bissl enttäuscht von den Käsespätzle, da fehlte die typische käsige, cremige Konsistenz. Der Service durch Peter war super, schnell und freundlich. Interessant war auch die QR Bezahlmöglichkeit auf dem Tisch. Man konnte auch einen Trinkwasserbrunnen kostenfrei nutzen., was wir allerdings zu spät registriert hatten. Alles in allem ein schöner Abend, lange Sitzen wird allerdings auf den Holzmöbeln mit der Zeit schwierig. Vielleicht gibt es hier mit der Zeit noch Kissenoptimierungen. ;-)

So pleasant and good! We had breakfast here almost every day and it was excellent every time. Stylish and quiet ambience. Very friendly staff. Attentive yet unobtrusive service. Coffee quality very good. The breakfast dishes are very plentiful and taste excellent. High gastronomic culture. Price/performance ratio is also good.

Super nette Bedienung. Lieben Gruß an die Küche, die Schnitzel waren super zart, die Panaden vielfältig und die Beilagen top. Die Familie war begeistert. Für die Kinder wurde außerdem mit Malzeug gesorgt, damit es nicht so langweilig war. Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen.

I had an English breakfast there, it was great The staff was so friendly. The star of dish was handmade blood sausages. The breakfast and tea cost me 22 but totally worth it. I will definitely go there to try other meals

Unfortunately, the worst meal of my entire week in Berlin. The strip steak was so chewy I couldn’t even cut it with the knife. The salad was at least fresh, but the potato salad was under average. The wine measurement per glass was also inconsistent — my first glass was very empty. The second glass slightly fuller. The waiting staff were friendly but not overly eager to get my food to me.

Our experience was simply great. Excellent cuisine, outstanding service. We felt very comfortable and I was very honored for my big birthday. We will definitely come back and recommend the restaurant without reservation.

An sich ein sehr gutes Restaurant um deutsche Küche mit gutem Gewissen zu genießen. Der vegane Kaiserschmarren war sehr fest und leider nicht schön fluffig. Trotzdem werde ich gerne wiederkommen.

After going to the cinema, my son wanted to visit the restaurant and chose this one. We were very surprised by the atmosphere and were a bit reserved because we were dressed very casually. We received a very friendly welcome and the service was great. The food was really good and also had some surprising things. The waiter was very accommodating and very friendly and was also up for a little joke. Thank you for the lovely evening.

To cut a long story short...we are thrilled! The food was excellent and the service was quick and friendly! Any time!

The oysters were very refreshing and the carrot soup had a pleasant spiciness. The flapjack steaks could have been a bit juicier. The creme brulee was perfect. The service was quick, courteous, competent and very friendly. All in all very recommendable!

Alles wird frisch zubereitet, der Service ist sehr sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir hatten Schnitzel und auch die vegane Rotkohlschnitzelvariante - alles schmeckte top. Had a very nice breakfast here on a weekend visit to Berlin

Es waren leider viele Gerichte nicht verfügbar. Ingesamt passt das Baukasten Prinzip nicht, die Teller sehen nicht besonders aus und leider fehlt dem Essen das gewisse Etwas. Schade!

Wir waren rundum zufrieden, es war lecker, gemütlich, entspannt, Wir kommen wahrscheinlich wieder.

Ich habe auf Empfehlung meiner Frau im HeimWerk reserviert. Wir waren an einem ruhigen Donnerstagabend hier. Besonders positiv ist mir der Service von Johannes in Erinnerung geblieben. Vom Empfang über die Bedienung bis hin zum Umgang mit Sonderwünschen bei den Gerichten (meine Frau ist schwanger) lief alles reibungslos. Er hatte, obwohl es am späteren Abend recht voll wurde, immer Zeit für ein kurzes Gespräch. Es war eine sehr freundliche Atmosphäre. Das Preis-, Leistungsverhältnis bei Speisen und Getränken ist sehr gut. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder hier reservieren.

Food was so-so but service is friendly and the place is stunning for anyone in love with art deco.

I went there at around 10 in the morning, sat at the bar and ordered a Latte Macchiato. I was reading a book while consuming my coffee. Around half an hour later, as I had finished my coffee, I thought: "It's cold outside, let's have another one!" - As I was about to order, the waiter told me for no disclosed reason that I would not be getting another one and that I should pay up and leave? Absolutely terrible behavior by the staff. I was only minding my own business, not bothering anyone and get treated like that? I paid up, gave no tip and left. NEVER AGAIN! EDIT: to get back at the reply from "the management": This was a few years ago. And on your website even, you can CLEARLY see that there are seats at the bar. Maybe you removed them now, but back then they were clearly there. The picture is from YOUR website.

Ate cauliflower, it needed a little more. Cocoa was only made from simple mixing powder. It didn't taste good.

The restaurant has a rich history, with old photos on the walls showcasing the neighborhood from over 100 years ago. The service is genuinely friendly and not pushy. While the schnitzel was a bit dry, the Königsberger Klopse were the best I've had in Berlin. The desserts were small but delicious and fresh.

Wir haben in Berlin einen Städtetrip gemacht. Waren durch zufall an diesem Restaurant vorbei gekommen. Wir haben dann 2 mal dort gegessen. Es war alles Perfekt, gerne wieder!

We went to Heimwek on a Sunday night, when most other places nearby were closed. Considering that it was a quiet evening, the atmosphere was a bit gloomy, but this was to be expected, because there were not many clients. 

Sehr stilvolles, angenehmes Ambiente. Freundlicher, aufmerksamer und rascher Service. Schmackhaftes Frühstück. Auch bei größerer Gruppe war alles vollkommen in Ordnung.

Gut, dass es vegane Optionen gibt. Weniger schön ist es jedoch, dass das vegane Maisschnitzel bestehend aus Mais und Bohnen nur halb so groß wie das Schweineschnitzel ist, dafür aber genau so viel kostet. Alles richtig gemacht in 2024!

Ich liebe diesen Ort. Einfach immer wieder sehr fein, intim und weltläufig, freundlich und lecker, ein Ort der Ruhe mit Blick auf den Trubel der Straße. Aufs Schönste aus der Zeit gefallen. Sogar den Tourist*innen zuschauen macht hier Freude. Haltet bitte weiter so toll durch!

Ich kannte das Restaurant schon vom Essen gehen mit Kollegen das es es eine sehr gute Qualität und Service bietet. Nun habe ich dieses zu Weihnachten am 25.12. mit unserer Familie zu 8 besucht. Hervorzuheben sind wieder der sehr freundliche Empfang und die Begrüßung durch das Service- Personal. Der Tisch war wie online reserviert schön zum Innenhof ausgerichtet. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend - unsere Getränke wurden schnell aufgenommen. Die einzelnen Speisen aus den bestellten Menue's (Maronensuppe, Veganes Tatar, Wildragout, Fisch, Schnitzel und Creme Brulee ) waren von sehr frischer Qualität, haben ausgezeichnet geschmeckt und waren wunderschön angerichtet. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier ! Wir haben hier ein paar wunderschöne Stunden verbracht. Alle waren sehr begeistert vom Restaurant, Ambiente und von den leckeren Speisen. Dafür einen herzlichen Dank!

I used to go to this restaurant often with pleasure as I was studying in Humboldt University of Berlin at Hackescher Markt. Today I had a guest from abroad and visited this nice place again. Unfortunately, the staff (a younger man) at the counter was extremely rude. First, he scared me so much while I was drinking the water that I thought it was put for the guests. He imitated my reaction with aggression. Then he told me not to drink that water before asking him. I said sorry. He answered, now you can make your glass full and drink it! It was so aggressive and incredibly mean. We came here to spend good time on the first day of the year. He didn’t even say sorry that I was scared, instead he was imitating my shock and continuing being angry at me. He could have said, sorry to scare you but this water is not for our guests. Then, when I was talking to my guest on our own table, he came out of nowhere and brought us a big bottle of water again with aggression. We didn’t ask anything from him, the aggression from his side still continued. So I gave it back to him. I don’t think I’ll visit this place ever again as long as there are such staff who can be so mean and aggressive towards guests.

Wir waren leider sehr enttäuscht von unserem Besuch in diesem Restaurant. Das Restaurant war nicht so voll, trotzdem mussten wir 45 Minuten auf unser Hauptgericht warten. Als es dann endlich kam, waren wir von der Qualität der Hauptgerichte teils sehr enttäuscht. 31€ für ein Wiener Schnitzel, was sehr durchwachsen war. Zum Dessert gab es dann Crème brûlée, was leider ungelogen die Größe eines Esslöffels hatte. Als Beilage zur Crème brûlée gab es Mangoeis, was überhaupt nicht zur Crème brûlée passte und im Endeffekt war die Kugel Eis größer als die Portion Crème brûlée. Alles im allen leider nicht die erwartete Qualität für die Preise. Das Personal war aber freundlich, werden wohl trotzdem nicht wiederkommen.

Essen war gut (Knödel hätten heißer serviert werden können) Ambiente war nett, schlicht und harmonisch (Stühle mit Rückenlehnen wären gut gewesen) Lärmpegel war sehr angenehm erträglich (später Nachmittag) Am besten war der Service: persönlich, freundlich, gut informiert, herzlich, mehrsprachig. Joannes und die KollegInnen: evcharisto polì! mechri tinali fora!

Wir waren das erste Mal in diesem Lokal. Es war ein angenehmer Abend mit meinen Freunden. Das Lokal ist schön eingerichtet. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Beim Bestellen kann man wählen von Snack oder Normal. Bei Normal ist es die doppelte Menge. Zu dem Hauptgang muss man die Zutaten separat bestellen. Ist aber auch nicht schlecht, da man verschiedene Zuraten( Pommes, Kartoffelsalat etc.) gibt. Wir werden irgendwann wiederkommen.
