Restaurant Goldmund in the Literaturhaus in Frankfurt am Main

We had a wonderful evening at the Goldmund Restaurant. We ordered the 6-course menu and were very satisfied. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted excellent. The service was always attentive, and we received excellent advice on our wine selection. We will definitely be back.

We were invited to dinner this evening and are a bit disappointed. The ambiance is extremely nice. The food was delicious, but unfortunately lukewarm. The service was very friendly, but they forgot our wine twice, and we had to ask each time. This shouldn't happen in a restaurant in this price range.

We received a very warm welcome, and the service was extremely attentive and pleasant. We were deeply impressed by the expertise of the entire staff. The ambiance is, in my opinion, unique in Frankfurt. Each dish was perfected and had its own subtlety, both in terms of ingredients and presentation. The kitchen team seems to work together excellently. Thank you so much for the time you spent with us!

Highly recommended. Everything was just perfect: a great atmosphere in the old Literaturhaus, super friendly and competent service, and a straightforward yet appealing menu. We also appreciated the spacious table layout. The friendly waiter took excellent care of our table and helped us choose our food and drinks. It's also ideal for larger parties. It's not exactly cheap, but we were happy to pay a little more for this positive experience.

Die Speisen handwerklich hervorragend gemacht – ehrlich, geschmackvoll und fein abgestimmt. Durchdachte Kompositionen, die einfach gut getan haben. Besonders schön: die Saisonalität und der spürbare Anspruch, Qualität auf den Teller zu bringen.“ In einer Zeit, in der guter Service oft nur noch Funktion ist, wird er im Goldmund zur Leidenschaft und man sollte diesen Ort wirklich einmal erleben. Nicht nur für das hervorragende Essen – sondern vor allem für das Gefühl, als Gast wirklich gesehen zu werden.

eating with significant weaknesses; too expensive in comparison. The atmosphere is super nice. Unfortunately the food can't keep up. The greeting from the kitchen (baked oyster) was very good. The first starter we had was lobster with a poultry jus. That didn't fit together - sorry - at all. As a chef, you should actually realize that this combination doesn't work. 2nd starter was goose foie gras terrine. In terms of taste, the dish was flat, as was the (3rd starter) snails in herb butter. Only the main course (cod with chorizo ​​stock) was convincing (along with the oyster). In the end there are three weak starters against a successful main course. That is clearly not enough for the claim and - above all - the prices quoted. We always want to eat here and now we had an excuse to do so; But there probably won't be a repeat for us.

There are on-site parking spaces, which are also used for Literaturhaus events. Entry is only possible from the direction of Sachsenhausen. Very easy to reach by tram. The elevator takes you from the parking lot to the entrance area. Fortunately, there are tables that are well spaced apart. Pleasant music does not interfere with the conversation. The menu is clear and the pumpkin cream soup and the “Ochsencheek” dish tasted excellent. A delicious surprise from the kitchen is served in advance. The service staff is very friendly, attentive and it is a special restaurant experience! Highly recommended!!

I had high expectations for Goldmund, anticipating classic French cuisine as listed in the Michelin guide, but the menu was more international, with French, German, and Italian options. The location inside the Literaturhaus is charming, and the food and wine were excellent, with the bread and dips being especially memorable. Portions were generous, and contrary to other reviews, casual clothing was allowed, as seen on several guests. While my main server, Drago, provided exemplary service with a friendly smile throughout, I felt hurt by the lady owner repeatedly ignoring me. As the only non-European in the restaurant, this may have influenced the treatment.

Ich hatte hohe Erwartungen an das Goldmund, da ich klassische französische Küche erwartet hatte, wie sie im Michelin-Führer angegeben ist, aber das Menü war internationaler, mit französischen, deutschen und italienischen Optionen. Die Lage im Literaturhaus ist charmant, und das Essen sowie der Wein waren ausgezeichnet, besonders das Brot und die Dips sind mir in Erinnerung geblieben. Die Portionen waren großzügig und entgegen anderer Bewertungen war legere Kleidung erlaubt, wie ich bei mehreren Gästen sehen konnte. Mein Hauptkellner Drago lieferte einen vorbildlichen Service, immer mit einem freundlichen Lächeln. Allerdings fühlte ich mich durch das Verhalten der Besitzerin verletzt, die mich wiederholt ignorierte. Als einziger Nicht-Europäer im Restaurant könnte dies der Grund für die Behandlung gewesen sein.

Das Restaurant ist sehr weiterzuempfehlen! Sehr nette Bedienung und leckeres Essen! Die Tische werden nur einfach besetzt! Also kein Stress beim Essen! Es war ein toller Abend! Ich gehe wieder hin!

Beautiful restaurant and excellent service. Menu variety and personal preferences made choices difficult for me. Overall the food was good but I expected a bit more perhaps. The Pastel de Nata was served ballistically hot! i burned my mouth trying to eat the first bite. They continued uncomfortably hot even after waiting 10 minutes. Overall the service more then made up for this and the restaurant was lovely.

A fine restaurant with the potential for a first star. Great ambience in the Literaturhaus, pleasant atmosphere, very attentive, friendly and above all generous service. However, there are two small points of criticism: The greeting from the kitchen including the aioli was excellent, but strategically perhaps not ideal - because the taste buds are somewhat impaired for the following courses. And: A little sweet greeting with the bill would have rounded off the great evening appropriately. Be that as it may - we'll be back when the new menu is available!

Der Abend startete mit einem freundlichen Empfang, Hinweis auf die Garderobe und den für uns reservierten Tisch. Die Aufmerksamkeit und Freundlichkeit des Service-Personals blieb den gesamten Abend auf höchsten Niveau. Ähnlich war unsere Wahrnehmung bei allen Gerichten des 6-Gänge Menüs. - Strebt man hier den ersten Stern an? - Die Getränkekarte ist überschaubar, aber umfangreich genug, jeden Gast zufrieden zu stellen. Es war ein gelungener Abend. - Gerne bald wieder!

The DJ at events has no feel for music, volume and bass. The food is good, but frills micro portions. Service is top.

Goldmund ist eine richtige Entdeckung. Ein schöner Raum, schick aber nicht aufdringlich, ruhig, gute Luft, bequeme Sitze. Aufmerksame, kundige und freundliche Menschen Menschen, die uns bedienten. Und das Essen war hervorragend. Gute Weinauswahl!

Scallops and Breton halibut were quite excellent, portions not too small, excellent wine list with Roero Arneis - a delicious evening! Great recommendation! Right in the middle and yet refreshingly on the edge. Enough space for large cars and right on the banks of the Main. The containers of the portico used to be here, in which current art was presented, but now the Literaturhaus has been rebuilt for many years and the Goldmund is a very nice place to spend a nice evening. The four of us have a nice big table under the eyes of Hitchcock, Beckett, Bette Davies and others in a room that doesn't look like it was built just 20 years ago. A very nice atmosphere, no stress, slowed down. The staff is relaxed and likes to chat with customers. Something might be forgotten, but then corrected quickly and in a friendly manner. All very pleasant. The audience isn't over-the-top or dressed like a banker either. The food is not cheap, but it is good and even quite filling for this type of cuisine. French, Austrian, German, even a little oriental. Interesting and delicious. The craftsmanship was good, but unfortunately the halibut was far too dry and far from tender and juicy. Overall, a nice evening. Oh, almost forgot, there are nice wines too.

Brot & Kürbisaioli war sensationell. Fischsuppe und Gemüsetartar war super / letzteres eine originelle und gut umgesetzte Idee. Hühnchen & KürbisNudeln waren lecker / ebenso der dazu getrunkene Wein. Gerne wieder !

Dem Wunsch auf ein paar Unverträglichkeiten einzugehen wurde problemlos umgesetzt. Der Service gibt einem ein Willkommengefühl und kümmert sich hervorragend um einen. Immer wieder gerne.
