Family business. Rather small indoors and outdoors. Very welcome, pleasant atmosphere in a rustic style. The food is wonderful home cooking, moderately priced and has a lot to choose from. The restaurant has been awarded by Prinz magazine. Always a culinary delight. It's better to reserve a table as the restaurant is very popular. The quality of the food has remained high over the years and the service has also been excellent. Highly recommended!

I used to enjoy going to “Buchholz”, but in recent years the quality of the food has suffered considerably: the schnitzels apparently come from industrial production and are just thrown into the deep fryer. The breading layer was strangely pale, and one searched for taste in vain. Fried potatoes were dripping with fat. The salad dressing is no longer homemade either. Too bad! The service was nice and attentive.

actually just came over to eat cake and was given a Jägerschnitzel with napkin dumplings (from the photo shoot). Warmed it up at home and was totally surprised by the quality of the schnitzel and dumplings. I'll definitely stop by for a proper meal.

You can certainly eat at a much higher price in many restaurants in Frankfurt. However, I highly doubt that you will eat better there, receive warmer service or even feel more comfortable. In short: my culinary insider tip in Frankfurt. Super tasty, super nice! And that's why: always very, very happy.

I visited on my way to see the zoo. I ordered schnitzel (mushroom cream), goulash, French fries, and creme brulee (highly recommended). It was so delicious! I ordered French fries thinking they were French fries, but they were different than I thought. Of course, they tasted good. I don't know if I'll be able to visit again This is a restaurant I want to go to again.

It was our first visit to Buchholz and will probably be our last. Inspired by the good reviews here, we wanted to give it a try. The furnishings are rustic and cozy. Quite a small restaurant with only a few tables. The service was very nice and nothing really took long to reach our table. The food tasted good, unfortunately the veal meatballs were partly cold and warm in others. The mashed potatoes were really hot. As a starter there was Handkäs with music and goulash soup, both of which were very good. We were asked if we would be okay if someone else could eat at our table. No, not really, but do you say that? We reluctantly agreed, you don't want to be the bogeyman and ruin the restaurant's sales. From then on, all conversation of a private nature was over and all that was left was to eat. But...that's not why I go to a restaurant. We skipped dessert and went to a café. What is also annoying is the process when people come to pick up food. They have to walk through the entire restaurant past all the tables to the counter and sometimes stand right next to the table for several minutes. This causes unrest for the guest sitting there. In any case, your super nice service is the biggest plus point.

Very tasty food, all freshly prepared on site. Service very good and friendly. Price is totally OK, in summer you can sit outside. There are even delicious Königsberger dumplings here.

It was my first time at Buchholz and I tried chicken schnitzel with cream sauce. For dessert there was Kaiserschmarn and pistachio tiramisu. It was fresh, deliciously homemade, tasted A+ and lovingly prepared. The service is just great, courteous and very nice. Conclusion: I can warmly recommend it to everyone and will come by often. We were here for a family dinner before Corona and back then the food was really good and the wines too. Unfortunately, a lot has changed: some of the food (lasagna) came to the table cold, it was hardly seasoned at all, the schnitzel was limp and the fried potatoes were actually just greasy. And the wines were also great. The service was friendly, but that doesn't matter if the food is bad. We won't go to Buchholz again.

We picked up food at this restaurant yesterday and were overall disappointed. The Wiener Schnitzel was so dark that if we had ordered it in the restaurant I would neither have eaten it nor paid for it. Unfortunately, we only noticed it when we got home and since we had guests, we just ate. It didn't taste good. The potatoes were fine. Dish number 2: meatballs, were edible, but tasted more like meat broth/fondor than like meatballs, the roulade wasn't particularly special either, hardly any/no filling. It's a shame, because I was really looking forward to the meal based on the good reviews here.

Very friendly and kind staff. Very abundant and delicious dishes, the price is right for the quantity and excellent quality. The place is small but very comfortable and cute. At the end of lunch they also offered us dessert as it was the last day before the holidays! Super recommended

I've eaten at Buchholz several times and the price-performance ratio is very good. The dishes are delicious and the portions are large. I was also impressed by the service.

I had the opportunity to eat at the Buchholz restaurant and overall I was very satisfied. The atmosphere is cozy and rustic, perfect for a relaxed dinner. The highlight was the veal schnitzel with sauerkraut and fried potatoes and had an excellent taste. The sauerkraut was also fresh and spicy, a great combination! The service was friendly and quick. The prices are fair for the quality of the food. Overall, a recommended place for lovers of German cuisine! Lg

Don't get fooled by the traditional look. The taste ist superb. The goulash is the one to go on a cold day. You can't do wrong with the Schnitzel.

Friendly and courteous staff, the food was good, unfortunately some of the fried potatoes were burnt, the portions were good, the prices were okay, but the cake was quite expensive at €5.50. Overall very noisy as the economy is quite small.

We didn’t have a reservation but they were able to work us in. Recommend a reservation because this place was terrific! Service, food and atmosphere all very good. Get the Hungarian goulash.

Very friendly service. Everything was already fully booked, but we were offered a table (at least for 1 1/4 hours). The food arrived quickly, so there was enough time. Schnitzels were really tasty. We can recommend this little restaurant!

Best German restaurant in Frankfurt.

Actually always good but 39 € for a leg of a goose is not possible, I paid 18 euros with 3 Klösen in Berlin last week. What I got was just the leg, it wasn't a quarter of a goose. We were with them again a few weeks ago Food, the boss wasn't there and you noticed that straight away, Kassler wasn't cooked through, a snail in the salad was in perfect health, Cordon Bleu was completely burnt and then quickly breaded again. I don't actually know anything about them.

Fast, good German food with reasonable price-performance ratio and attentive service. Rustic look from the outside, the inside has apparently been renovated more often than the outside. Unfortunately there was no medlar.

The Buchholz offers a stylish atmosphere that is perfect for a romantic evening or a meeting with friends. Absolutely every dish is visually appealing and tastes excellent. The service was excellent, very friendly, very attentive but never intrusive. The team was very accommodating and made you feel really welcome. The price-performance ratio is excellent, especially given the top quality of all the ingredients. We will definitely be back and can highly recommend this restaurant.

Food was one of the most memorable meals I've had in Germany. Flavor, cooked well, delicious! Service was very thoughtful and attentive.

The food was very tasty, well seasoned and not too salty. I often experience in many restaurants that I get very thirsty after eating because the food was too salty. The service was extremely friendly, I haven't had such a pleasant experience in a long time. The price-performance ratio was absolutely fine. We will definitely come back! The restaurant is very busy, so it is strongly advisable to reserve a table in advance. We were there on a Sunday afternoon on a beautiful late summer day and sat comfortably outside. When we left at 6 p.m., all the tables outside except for one free table were full.

We spent a few days in Frankfurt near the zoo and were looking for a nice, calm restaurant with affordable prices and great local food. This place was perfect! The food was delicious, and the waiter was friendly and spoke English, which made our experience even better.

I am in love with this restaurant. It started with a very good side salad, generous plate and not drowned in dressing (super tasty). For the main course there was Wiener Schnitzel with chanterelle cream sauce and spaetzle. It was fantastic with all the components right down to the last bite. With the creme brulee we came to the conclusion that we made a great choice for dinner. The service must be mentioned again - impeccable! We'd love to come back. Thank you for everything!

Like before: unpretentious but really tasty. Crispy Viennese schnitzel, homemade Königsberger meatballs, mashed potatoes... And: sensationally dessert: lemon tiramisu or raspberry tiramisu. Homemade, of course. Mirza is the name of the magic fairy in the kitchen. The nephew is in service. Fast and friendly. No frills but quality. And inexpensive.
