Being an American it was very nice to have a little taste of home so close. Very friendly down home service you would expect from an American diner. All the food was very authentic and tasted great! My favorite was the amazing pancakes as well as the chicken and waffles! The lovely Danita (Mona’s daughter) makes sure everything is to your liking and not only in the kitchen but also makes sure you have everything you need at your table. A1 5-star service and food!

First timers here! Food was a wonderful surprise and delicious. The atmosphere and service was outstanding. A great place to come for a lazy Sunday morning. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and provided great advice about the food. We will be back and next time will bring friends.

I had the Wisconsin Veggie and the Eggs Benedict with avocado — both were super tasty and fresh! The flavors were just perfect, and the presentation looked amazing. Mona’s in Westend is hands down one of my favorite spots for American-style breakfast in Frankfurt! Their signature fluffy buttermilk pancakes with berries are delicious and beautifully presented. I also highly recommend trying their chicken and waffles, eggs benedict, and the club sandwich — each dish is perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The mimosa is refreshing, and the hot chocolate is rich — ideal for a cozy brunch. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and the whole place has a warm, aesthetic, and cozy atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. Mona’s is an absolute must-visit in Frankfurt. A truly cozy, warm place with an atmosphere almost like home. Nothing over the top, but very welcoming and pleasant. The staff, including the manager, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The buttermilk pancakes were simply delicious, and the breakfast mix with scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, and bacon was also really good. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic American breakfast!

The food was not tasty, the pancakes were too dry, the sauces were too runny, we had to complain three times and it still did not get better, the workers could not even speak proper German and had to communicate with us in English and they could not even do that, the prices are not appropriate, much too expensive, when paying they had no change and were forced to give too much tip

A disaster: the pancakes were overpriced and dry. I asked for chocolate sauce three times and only got syrup each time. When I paid, he didn't have any change, and we were forced to tip. Paid €45 for 6 pancakes and 6 mini sausages. First time in Frankfurt and a terrible experience.

A very authentic restaurant with an incredibly friendly owner and very nice staff. The food is delicious. The pancakes are very moist. The hash browns are very flavorful, and the eggs Benedict with the muffin underneath is very creamy. Its American charm definitely sets it apart from other cafés in Frankfurt. Years ago, Machiavelli used to be my go-to Italian restaurant in Frankfurt. After moving back here five years later, I was pleasantly surprised to see the addition of Mona’s American Breakfast (also my name!), which immediately intrigued me to give it a try. I cannot stress enough how homemade and delicious the food is. On top of that, the warm service and the owner’s hospitality made the entire experience and atmosphere worth every cent. I will definitely be coming back for breakfast. The owners already recognize me from my past visits to the Italian restaurant, which made the experience even more special.

The food was great! The staff did well, but it seemed like they were understaffed, so it was a little slow. There was an Italian man (maybe the owner of Machiavelli?) who was yelling at the staff in front of everyone, which detracted from the atmosphere. Even if the staff was making mistakes, it could have been handled much better and makes me not want to go to Machiavelli. As other reviews have said, the GF pancakes were great! I would definitely come back to Mona's!

We arrived at the place after making reservation for 5 people 2 adults and 3 children which was confirmed. We waited for over half an hour, and no one came to take our order. We simply had to get up and leave, with the children hungry and extremely disappointed.

We were there last Saturday. We had reserved a table a few days in advance. We sat outside thanks to the good weather. It was super cozy. And the American breakfast was simply fantastic, just like we know and love from the USA. The staff were super friendly, and the manager even came over to check if everything was okay. We fell in love with this little bistro and will definitely come back next year when we're back in Frankfurt for the Mainfest. Thank you Mona and staff for an amazing morning and a perfect start to our day in Frankfurt. We will be back.

The place was dusty, we saw a thick layer of dust on the speakers hanging on the walls. It took forever to get our order and it was quite chaotic. As a party of 6 we couldn’t start eating together because each person got their food and drinks with huge time gaps in between. Paying was super difficult and chaotic as well. The food was nothing special and some things were chewy and burned. I do not recommend this place.

I was excited to find an American style diner here. We didn’t have a reservation and the staff was very friendly and seated us despite not having a reservation. I do appreciate that. The place itself is charmingly cooky and cute, set in a former trattoria, with walls painted in coral and turquoise, good music playing and the staff speaking English. I really wanted to like this place, alas there were some issues with service and food that won’t have us coming back or recommend it. Besides the blond woman with the glasses, the staff was very slow, didn’t seem present and either forgot us or then came right after one another and asked the same questions. It wasn’t clear which waiter was responsible for whom, sometimes the bartender became a waiter and it just seemed a bit chaotic. Tried getting the attention of the staff and either no one even noticed or they all reacted at the same time. We each ordered a drink and the diner plate, it took a while for the food to arrive eventhough it wasn’t that busy. The drinks came well after the food which we didn’t like. I think most people would want their drinks, especially coffee, before the breakfast or at least at the same time. The Chocolate Chip Mocha was nice. The food was lackluster, in its presentation and sadly taste as well. The food wasn’t seasoned and some of it was a bit burned. The food was luke warm. Hasbrowns beige, scrambled eggs beige, 2 slices of bacon and two tiny burned sausages. There was an attempt made at the decoration with two small grapes and a very thin slice of orange that tasted like it was well behind its best days. The pancake was tasty, alas also just lukewarm, and it would have been nice to have a few blueberries or slices of strawberries on it. The Bloody Mary I got didn’t taste like much, no spice, no decorations aside of one sad looking, old, bent over piece of celery. I asked if there was anything else but tomato juice in the Bloody Mary and when the server brought it back they just topped it off with vodka. It was probably the least tasty Bloody Mary I’ve ever had. Really disappointed by the whole meal and service, it felt lackluster and was missing love. I don’t go out to eat often so when something like this happens it’s especially disappointing. If you’re mostly into the vibe of a place and aren’t into food that much then it’s fine but it’s not a great dining experience. I hope they can figure out how to improve the quality of food and service in order to really create an impression.

I was here today with my two kids. We sat on the terrace and had a fantastic breakfast. We ordered the chicken and waffles, pancakes with fruits and eggs Benedict with avocado. Been to Cali many many times to see family and I did not expect the food at Mona’s to match my expectations but they went overboard, with the food drinks and even the service. I would definitely recommend and the kids loved it too!!

I've never experienced such good service. Everyone was extremely courteous, the drinks came super quickly, and their special drinks were also delicious. My boyfriend and I ordered a diner plate and chicken and waffles. We shared the lumberjack pancakes. I think we've been there every weekend this month and have been satisfied every time. The lovely owner also took time for us and talked with us a lot. We'll be spending many more Saturdays here in the future.

Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. After reading all the good reviews, we decided to eat there. I saw very little authentic American food. Perhaps for someone who's never been to the US, but the hashbrowns were a disaster. Too dry, simply miles away from what hashbrowns are all about. The pancakes were unfortunately also far too sweet and couldn't compare to, say, IHop. About the service: Jesus Christ. She was so sweet... But considering it wasn't that busy, the service was really bad. We waited at least 20 minutes for our order to be taken, which was disappointing, because the table of four people who arrived after us was served before us. The manager also had to explicitly ask his staff to take our orders. There was no table setting, food arrived before the drinks, and unfortunately, drinks were also forgotten, and I had to explicitly ask for them again. The manager was visibly annoyed with his server and couldn't hide it from us customers. We briefly felt very bad for the server. Unfortunately, compared to the other server, it wasn't good. All in all… €42 for 6 pancakes, an omelet and hashbrowns, a lavender oat milk, and pink lemonade are definitely American prices. At least they were able to keep up with this. Wouldn't recommend. Honestly, just make breakfast at home, guys!

Came here on a Sunday morning without a reservation and got there in the middle of the action - everything inside was occupied. But the staff did not hesitate: they prepared a table outside especially for me, brought a blanket and even pulled a heater out of the pantry so that I would be comfortable. This level of care was a pleasant surprise. Had breakfast with a view of the skyscrapers - with a classic American breakfast on the table, as if I was back in New York. After many disappointments with the service in Germany, this place was a real exception. The food is excellent, the service is beyond praise. Will definitely come back.

We had reserved for 9 people and also received a written confirmation. When we arrived we discovered that the restaurant had entered our reservation at an incorrect time. The staff showed no interest in the situation - no apology, no attempt to find a solution, not even a clear answer as to whether we could still eat. Overall, we experienced extremely unfriendly and indifferent behavior. Anyone who values ​​reliability and respectful treatment should avoid this restaurant.

You don’t have to be American to fall in love with this delicious spot! The pancakes are absolutely perfect, and I highly recommend pairing them with a lavender latte (you can thank me later!). Since I don’t eat meat, I’m thrilled that Mona’s offers vegan bacon and sausage options. My husband, on the other hand, does eat meat and swears their club sandwich is incredible! For those who grew up in the USA, this spot feels like a little taste of home! Mona’s has a relaxed, welcoming vibe — it’s the kind of spot you want to make your regular brunch tradition.

PERFEKT! Wir waren letzten Samstag (05.04.2025) bei Monas nachdem wir kinderleicht auf der Homepage reserviert hatten. Nach diversen Urlauben in den USA hatten wir eine recht hohe Erwartung an das Frühstück. Was wir nicht erwarteten? So ein perfektes amerikanisches Frühstück. Abgesehen davon, dass die Chefin, sowie ihre Bedienungen unfassbar herzlich und zuvorkommend waren, war das Flair, die Qualität und der Geschmack des Frühstücks perfekt. Von Hashbrowns, über die perfekten fluffy Pancakes mit Ahornsirup, bis hin zu den Hähnchenwürstchen. Nur zu empfehlen! Wir haben bereits wieder gebucht und werden die 60 Minuten Anfahrt gerne auf uns nehmen! 😍

We love Mona’s! As Americans living in Germany we come every so often to get our American breakfast fix. The staff is kind and the owner always comes around and asks how we are! It’s so welcoming and everyone treats our daughter with kindness. The food is also sooo good!

Wonderful food and amazing service. I came without a reservation on a sunday morning and the place was packed but they set up a table just for me outside, gave me a blanket and brought an entire heater from the storage room and placed it right next to me. A wonderful view of the skyscrapers with a pure american breakfast felt like i was back in NYC😂 it was refreshing to finally get good service in germany.

Lovely place, perfect to experience the American breakfast/weekend brunch. The staff is very kind and speaks English. Whenever we're craving pancakes, we come here and we're never disappointed! Would recommend reserving a table in advance as it tends to be a bit crowded during the weekend, since the place is a bit small.

We ate absolutely delicious food today - hashbrowns, eggs benedict, pancakes...great! The coffee was also very good - not to mention the great service. The restaurant-within-a-restaurant concept overwhelmed us for a moment, but that didn't detract from the experience. Absolute recommendation, gladly again.

In one word: disappointed. We arrived when only half the tables were occupied in a quaint location. The waitress was quite friendly but somehow wasn't able to get my order filled: coffee and pancakes with a side of bacon. While the pancakes arrived - with a burnt one hidden in the middle of the stack - the bacon never appeared and the coffee only after I had finished eating the pancakes. Again, the waitress was quite apologetic but the whole experience was simply disappointing. As Mons's has received so many 5 star reviews, perhaps it was just an "off-day" - that happens - so I will give them another chance in a few months. I'll update the review then.

I came to dine at Mona’s for brunch this Sunday. And I was deeply disappointed when I’ve received for my chicken and waffles two insignificant pieces of undercooked or more like “rare” chicken. The waffles were good but the the chicken was rancid and the portion was quite insulting for receiving literally 70 grams of chicken with two huge waffles. The taste was mediocre at best. As a chef for over 5 years I would advise Mona to give some proper portions of food in order to maintain clientele. It’s insulting to receive 70 grams of chicken for 17 euros

We were there spontaneously on Saturday for an American breakfast. We were able to sit outside, the breakfast was delicious, the service was very friendly and accommodating and we spent a lovely morning there. We will repeat that.

The place is beautiful and quiet, and this is what gives the place its beauty. The food is delicious. We ordered such and such a dish Benedict... but you have to say how well the eggs are cooked, otherwise they are cooked to a fair standard... It is the right of those who love bacon, otherwise the regular ones should tell them, we ordered nuggets that taste normal, we ordered a club sandwich, sweet and white, and the dairy kid saj saj is delicious.. We ordered eggs and steak, the steak is light, white, and fluffy, it quickly decreases and is delicious. They have meat and diyas. We ordered the diyas, but they are sweet and light. The cold American iced coffee is sweet, healthy and light. The atmosphere is amazing it reminds me of Brooklyn NY, however, the drinks are the worse my wife’s cappuccino is very water down the mimosas are very flat and my daughters ice pumpkin pie latte had know pumpkin in it. I can’t believe an hour has passed and still no food…….. So far 1 star stay tuned………….. The food was God awful my eggs were burnt I asked for butter and was given a tiny slice smh I am sorry but I would not recommend this place for my peers. So disappointed P.s I wanted to be fair so I asked my party of 4 for their opinion sadly everyone agreed.

I categorically do not recommend this place..95℅ breakfast/brunch restaurants in Frankfurt are better than this place..chances are very slim,that they don't messup your experience.Average food,very poorly managed,takes ages to get your food.We arrived earlier than lots of tables,but got our food after them. I feel bad for the staffs.I heard from one of the waitress that they are underpaid as well.I've had a terrible experience with the owner/manager lady with her devilish attitude,who just came to us without appreciating our concern regarding our food taking a long long time to come,and just said ,"Enjoy the music and relax."with her fake pretentious smile.It was an absolute diabolical shambles! There was this italian middle aged guy,(probably the owner) shouting at his staffs all the time..very annoying.He ruined the ambience.

We had breakfast there for the first time. The service was very friendly but unfortunately not well organised. They served people who arrived behind us. We waited about 15 minutes to get our coffee… The food was fresh and homemade but not very special. We missed some creativity and spices…all seemed a bit dry and poached eggs were hard! We hope the place can improve because the family-atmosphere definitely deserves a try.

Terrible experience overall. We ordered the eggs Benedict, Bene combo, iced latte and cappuccino. So where do I start? The poached eggs were hard boiled, the pancakes felt uncooked and the food was overall tasteless. It took 15 minutes to place our orders and then around 40 minutes to get our food. At the end the waitress has the audacity to ask if we wanted to leave a tip. Definitely not value for money and bad quality.

Invited a friend for a real American brunch experience and loved it. From the friendly welcome to the homemade taste of Monte Christo sandwich, pancakes and a healthy salad, it was just what we wanted. The diner - type Beach Boys and Elvis music added a fun flair too. Planning an adult birthday party next with Welcome Mimosas and root beer floats !Yum!

I will be back again and again!!…I’ve been coming to Mona’s because both the food and service has been nothing short of excellent. (The pancakes are definitely a hit, but I also love the eggs benedict combo plate)… you need to check out their lunch! I’ve tried the seattle seahawks salad (so tasty! Lots of different flavors), and the focaccia sandwich. But I saw other tables getting the cheeseburger which looks mouthwatering, so I’m getting that next time. I love the feel of this restaurant and the whole experience. You won’t be disappointed!

It tasted sensationally juicy! We ordered the Chicago Smashburger and avocado and bacon as an extra topping. I have to admit that I haven't had such a juicy burger in a long time and you can immediately taste the difference between a ready-made patty and a fresh patty! This is definitely freshly made and really tasty! Crispy Chicken and Waffles were also very juicy and crispy at the same time, just great! Especially if you like combining hearty with sweet! The friendly service gave us good advice when we asked about non-alcoholic refreshments and after the delicious desserts came good tips and explanations of ingredients! The banana split was very, very good and the peach cobbler was also highly recommended. Price performance is also top! Because everything is freshly made and it is located in the heart of Westend, I really recommend it and the doors were finally opened for lunch! Keep it up :) 😀

Best packages with the most delicious home made butter ever tasted! Mona’s daughter and her Italian husband are amazing people! They made us feel like at home, showing us around and sharing their large experience. I’m so happy I found this place, I will definitely come back for its amazing food and company 😊

A disappointment. Cold everything, eggs, hash browns (cooked yesterday?), pancake. Good espresso. We were a few minutes late for our reservation. "We were just about to give away your table," I wish they had done so.

As an American living in Germany, sometimes I miss familiarity. Everywhere you go, everything is so Germanized (naturally). So I was worried coming here it wouldn’t be authentic American food but I was pleasantly surprised! Very good American breakfast that truly hit the spot 😋 They also accommodated us even though there were no available reservations. Thank you Mona’s!

Never had such good scrambled eggs and the bacon was exactly how it should be! The portion is fair for the price and you will be full. I would say the ambience is based on Latin America... A little dark but still cozy :) Card payment only possible from 25€.

Cute, quiet place in a residential area. They really have typical american dishes and food. The eggs Benedict were good and the waffles were delicious. The (blood) orange juice was freshly squeezed and it was excellent.

That was a really great experience for my girls... Almost felt like in the USA based on the fact that it is English speaking. You can choose whether DE or US area. The food is incredibly delicious and screams for more!!! We will come back!!!

Very tasty food, service a bit messy. We had breakfast at Monas with 9 adults and a toddler. A high chair was provided for the child. Unfortunately, our waitress was a bit confused, forgot drinks and just wasn't on his toes. The boss even more so and kept coming over with the coffee pot. The food was very tasty and very authentic (I've had breakfast in the USA several times) except for the hash browns, which are offered completely differently on the menu. The food came very far apart in time, actually each dish was about 3 minutes apart, so that the first ones were already finished when the last meal came. It was very crowded, so that could be because of that. I definitely recommend it, just plan more time or have better luck with the service ;) From what I've noticed, real Americans also come here for breakfast. We had everything from eggs benedict, pancakes, club sandwich to waffles. Delicious!

We wanted to visit but once we read "Cash is King. Debit or EC Card accepted minimum 25,00." on their website we were out. This is just ridiculous in 2024. I generally only review places I visited but this one didn't give me the chance.

The food at Monas is fantastic! They pancakes are fluffy and the steak was cooked perfectly. Drinks were also good, mimosas and bloody marry, the pumpkin spice latte was very sweet. The only minus star is the ambience, when Monas moves into her own restaurant that will come :) In any case, highly recommended, in contrast to the hipster café, not so nice but at least fresh pancakes and no convenience!

The dinner is in an Italian restaurant i.e. shop in shop system. To be honest, this is not recommended at all. Very overpriced for really mediocre quality. It doesn't help if the conditions are in English, this doesn't improve the bad food. I ordered panckaes and waffles for my two children. I was happy that it was like in the American films, with nice sweet stuff on top. Unfortunately, we were quickly disappointed that there was only a dollop of cream and two halves of fruit. There are enough restaurants in Frankfurt and the surrounding area that make pancakes and waffles that are 1000 times better. American Diner would like this
