Food is really very good. Apparently there are staffing problems in the kitchen. Otherwise it wouldn't have taken so long. Price-performance ratio is okay, everything has become more expensive

The food was poor quality and the selection was poor. There was only pork to choose from. There was a piece of melon, which unfortunately drowned in the sauce and was therefore inedible. All in all, it's not worth its price and reputation

It has been a popular guesthouse not only for our family for many years. The landlord and his employees are very friendly and accommodating. The facility exudes coziness thanks to the lovingly designed decoration, which also applies to the beer garden and outdoor area. The food is always very tasty and there is absolutely nothing to complain about about the service. The only problem is that there is no disabled toilet. The general toilet facilities are kept very clean, but on the first floor the steps there are torture for me too. We will continue to be happy guests.

Haven't eaten so well in a long time, everything was freshly prepared, the chef knows his trade, the seasoning was well seasoned, grandma couldn't do it better, even the prices, we were surprised that there was still something like that, especially for such a rich meal I can only recommend it, the staff is nice, keep it up

The two of us spent the afternoon in the beer garden. Good home-style Saxon cuisine. Even seasoned meat, minced meat, was on the menu. Ordered and very tasty. Taken home: homemade roasts and brawn. A poem. To be recommended again and unconditionally at any time

As usual, cozy with good service. The food was extremely good, home-style cooking prepared with a lot of love and taste. The outstanding brawn is still made there in-house, and THAT'S why we always enjoy eating there. Keep it up, please!!!! 😉

All in all - average. The food could do with more spice, the decor doesn't seem particularly inviting and the service could also be a bit friendlier.

During the GDR era, I went there several times to eat with grandma and grandpa. Now with my husband. Unfortunately I have to deduct a few stars. One star deducted when eating because the asparagus spears were so incredibly thick and strawy that it was almost impossible to chew them. And 2 points for the service that loudly spread their privacy throughout the restaurant. That made the visit a bit, well, not pleasant.

We hiked to the Goldener Hahn for Father's Day. As always, the inn was open. We "only" had Roster in Brotl and a beer, but it tasted great, the service was great as always and everything was open despite the lack of staff on the holiday. Can you just take off your hat and say thank you very much....

The Goldener Hahn on Zschopauer Straße in Chemnitz is a popular excursion destination. Parking is available on site and on warmer days you can sit in the outdoor area. The surface is a bit unfavorable - coarse gravel. There are simple wooden chairs or benches placed at the tables, spices and cutlery are on the tables, simple but chic. The service is friendly, fast and helpful. There is a very good range of food, from home cooking to seasonal dishes. The food is tasty and lovingly prepared and is served well presented. The price range for the dishes ranges from around €10 to €22 and the portions are plentiful. Open Wednesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday is a day off! 👍🍺🍛

Sat outside in summer weather. Delicious, but the waiting time was not reasonable despite the low number of visitors (3/4 hours). Still recommended.

Full restaurant in the evening on weekdays. Although it is now somewhat remote in terms of traffic, the customers are still there. The good home cooking attracts connoisseurs. Very warm service rounds off the visit.

Very nice atmospheric place. I came by on my motorcycle just to drink a beer without alcohol, the gentleman who served me was a bit rude or surprised that I only bought beer. The look on his face was as if he had seen someone from Mars.

We had lunch with our granddaughter. Friendly service, tasty food and a well-kept atmosphere. We were very satisfied and would like to come back again.

We haven't been to Goldeben Hahn for ages. Nice service, good food, it was worth making the journey through the forest from Einsiedel. We definitely won't wait that long again.

We came here on a Sunday evening without a performance. A sign with the word "freshly slaughtered" or something similar lured us off the street. Due to the reservations, our stay was limited to 40 minutes. A steak with seasoned meat took a little longer, but the second steak reached the table burnt. The mushroom noodles were manageable for the price and also didn't look fresh. I'm sorry if I can't leave a good review here. For historical reasons, because I am a native of the region, I would have expected better food. I will give the restaurant a second chance on my next visit, but was rather disappointed with this visit.

Anyone who has been here once always comes back. Just home cooking at its finest. Large portions and good prices. The staff is always friendly, no matter how full the room can be. It's lucky that something like this still exists.

The staff was always attentive and courteous without being intrusive. Questions were answered in a friendly and competent manner, and it was clear that people were working here with passion. Delicious food at fair prices: The menu offers a diverse selection of dishes, all freshly prepared with attention to detail. We chose the farmer's breakfast and the brawn, both of which tasted excellent. The portions were more than sufficient and the prices were absolutely fair. Positive conclusion: The visit to the Goldener Hahn restaurant was a complete success. The food was delicious, the staff friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere cozy and inviting. We will definitely come back and can recommend the Goldener Hahn restaurant to anyone who appreciates good food and friendly service.

Great food for decades. Always worth a visit and you can also celebrate carnival.

Very friendly, quick service, delicious food (German cuisine) and moderate prices. It is recommended to pre-order. Especially at lunchtime you can take a walk in the forest opposite and enjoy the view. The menu is very diverse. The upstairs room can be used for family celebrations, and the taproom downstairs is very cozy.

Food excellent, menu could look a little different, no loose sheets, but it's just a matter of getting used to

There is no vegetarian food on the menu, but everything is possible upon request. Was delicious. Dumplings with mushrooms 😋

F.'s long, detailed report prompted me to write a "rebuttal". As a resident of Exchemnitz, I have been coming to the Goldener Hahn from far away for years (!), even if I have to take a detour. On my many short vacations, especially here in Thuringia and also in Saxony, I see that there is currently a wave of closures in the restaurants - whether this is due to Corona or other reasons remains to be seen. But try taking a spontaneous trip and then just go out to eat somewhere. That doesn't work. It takes a lot of logistical skill and is possible using digital media to find a restaurant - but they are usually closed. Not so in the Goldener Hahn. Reliable for years, always the usual menu (yes, that can be a good thing too) and you know what to expect: good, down-to-earth home cooking. The current operators and staff are extremely fast, the waitress is the prototype of a service as you would imagine. Extremely fast, very concentrated, eloquent and quick-witted and very friendly towards the guest. We've never had to wait long there, even though it's always full. And because last weekend in Rochsburg, where we were on vacation, there was no (!) open restaurant on Saturdays except for a hopelessly overbooked Italian restaurant, we drove the 3/4 hour to Chemnitz and had a great evening. There is no turning away guests, if necessary the party continues upstairs in the hall... Opinions are divided everywhere about how to cook sauerkraut - we happen to like it exactly the way it is served there...not too sour and a little thick. The battle weeks are a blast anyway. Where do you go to all this trouble? And fresh corrugated meat and everything that goes with it. We very much hope that the inn will continue like this for a long time and that it will survive all crises and that the staff will not lose interest...where the food is good, a lot of people will come, so make a reservation in advance if possible.

I know the Golden Hahn from my student days and can only say that it always has good food for little money and friendly service. I or we will probably be guests at Hahn more often now

Lockerer freundlicher Service.Hatten nicht reserviert und bekamen für 1 Stunde einen Tisch (Sonntag Abend 17.30 Uhr).Diese Zeit war ausreichend für ein Getränk und für das Essen.Denn beides wurde zügig serviert. Uns hat das Essen sehr gut geschmeckt. Portion ausreichend und gut abgeschmeckt.

Wie immer bei euch ein Erlebnis und für unsre Gäste aus der Ferne jedesmal ein besonderes Highlight!!! Danke für die schöne Zeit!!!

Sehr gute Hausmannskost, nette Bedienung, wir kehren gerne und oft hier ein.

Gutes Essen, Tisch reservieren lassen ist sinnvoll. Klassische Speisekarte.. also vegetarisches eher nicht. Aber die Küche ist flexibel. Auch Vegetarier werden satt.

Wir waren gestern dort essen. Wir hatten kurzfristig dort angerufen und gefragt ob noch 2 Plätze frei sind. Das essen war von Vorspeise (gänsefett mit Käse und würzfleisch) bis hin zur Hauptspeise (rostbrätl und Fisch) einfach mega lecker. Als Nachspeise gönnte ich mir ein Salat und auch dieser war einfach sehr lecker. Der Salat wurde selbstgemacht (bohnensalat, möhrensalat, paprikasalat und rohkost).Die Preise sind erschwinglich. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Gerne kommen wir wieder. Wünsche schöne Weihnachten 🥰

Super Essen!! Lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen. Wir hatten 1/2 Gans mit Klöße und Rotkohl. Kann das Gasthaus absolut empfehlen. Personal Top, Essen Top und Ambiente Top!! Grüße aus Berlin!

Das Essen war sehr gut. Das Ambiente sehr gemütlich, passt sehr gut ins adventliche Erzgebirge. Die Bedienung hat uns leider ihre Überlastung deutlich spüren lassen. Alle Achtung vor den Menschen, die die Gastronomie noch am Leben erhalten und auch abends und am Wochenende arbeiten. Doch ganz ohne Gäste, würden auch sie ihren Lebensunterhalt nicht bestreiten können.

Ich vergebe sehr selten fünf Sterne, hier aber sind sie richtig angebracht. Essen - sehr gut, Service - sehr freundlich, Ambiente - sehr gemütlich. Immer wieder gern.

Wir gehen schon viele Jahre hier essen. Es ist immer sehr lecker, das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und das Ambiente hat auch einen sehr angenehmen Charme. Kann man nur weiterempfehlen. Man sollte aber zuvor einen Tisch reservieren, da der Gastraum meist schon voll ist.

Der goldene Hahn ist wirklich sehr schön. Selbst mal reinsschauen BOMFORZIONEUS !!!

Ein sehr traditionelles, urisches Gasthaus mit bester Hausmannskost. Die verschiedenen Gasträume sind mit viel Dekoration versehen, es ist gemütlich, viel Holz und Nippes. Das Essen war wieder hervorragend! Die Portionen sind etwas geschrumpft, aber die Preise noch vertretbar. Der Service war aufmerksam. Die Speisen kamen zügig, trotz vollem Gastraum.

Der Goldene Hahn besticht durch ein uriges Ambiente und einen freundlichen und zugleich schnellen Service. Das Essen schmeckte super und die Preise waren angemessen. Für eine ehrliche und traditionelle sächsische/deutsche Küche würde ich auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Wir waren immer zufrieden aber gestern waren wir sehr enttäuscht. Mein Mann hat immer Rippchen bestellt, wenn es angeboten wurde. Doch dieses Mal hat er fast nur Knochen auf den Teller gehabt und es war sehr wenig Fleisch dran. Außerdem wurde die Bestellung vergessen. Es musste erst nachgefragt werden, wo das Essen bleibt.

Zum Abendessen hier gewesen. Netter Service, mein Eisbein lecker. Vielleicht einen Tick, ich will's mal so ausdrücken "der Koch könnte frisch verliebt sein". Klöße und Sauerkraut lecker. Das Essen von meiner Begleitung soll auch toll gewesen sein. Gutes Essen zum vernünftigen Preis. Hausgemachte Wurstbrühen und Schlachterplatten. Ich finde sowas super. Die teste ich beim nächsten Mal. Eine Tischreservierung wird empfohlen. Ein Besuch lohnt sich.

Wie in Kindheitstagen....Schön! Einzig die Schlagermusik nervt. Brauch kein Mensch. Erzgebirgmusik wäre passend oder gar keine mugge...

Urige Gaststätte mit sehr leckerem Essen und nettem Service

Als kleines Kind sind wir schon immer ins Gasthaus Goldenen Hahn eingekehrt und dieses immer mit guten Erinnerungen. Heute bin ich bereits Rentner und wohne in Jena, aber wenn wir in Chemnitz oder Umgebung sind kehren wir immer bei Euch ein. Unsere ganze Familie kommt gerne zu Euch, denn das Essen schmeckt immer sehr gut. Es gibt kaum Gaststätten die selber kochen und dann noch so gut. Wir möchten uns bei den Betreibern hiermit bedanken, macht weiter so.

Immer wieder ein Besuch wert. Essen ist hervorragend und der Service einwandfrei.

Die gute alte Zeit fällt mir gut nur ein Einen schönen Geburtstag Oma ... Essen war gut, leider fast nix vegetarisches oder veganes. Die ganze Location recht nett, aber vor 30 Jahren stehen geblieben. Wer es mag, der ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben.

Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich und es wird sehr viel Wert auf Gastlichkeit gelegt, so dass man sich sofort Willkommen fühlt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und gesprächig und wirkt sehr authentisch. Die Speisen sind frisch zubereitet, sehr lecker und stehen in bester sächsischer Tradition. Die Preis-Leistung ist auch top. Der Gasthof ist immer wieder eine Einkehr wert👍

Wir waren 1969 als Studenten das letzte Mal in diesem Restaurant und nun wohnen wir wieder in Chemnitz und wollten die Lokalität mal wieder aufsuchen, es hätte uns damals schon gefallen und auch jetzt ist es ein sehr gut besuchtes Restaurant mit überaus sehr gut schmeckenden Gerichten, wir kommen wieder

Essen fad, nicht gewürzt, Sauerkraut schleimig verkocht. 3 Vorspeisen auf der Karte, aber nur 2 verfügbar, davon eine eine Suppe( im Hochsommer), die andere backcamembert. Super Auswahl..... Alles in allem einmal und nie wieder!
