Wow, wow, wow! What a fantastic restaurant! The ambiance is lovely, and there's only room for a small number of people. This also makes it very quiet. The service was outstanding. We felt incredibly welcome from the very first moment. The food and wine pairings are simply indescribable. I've never eaten such delicious food before. Every course is a dream! We'll definitely be back! And maybe we'll even book a cooking class with Björn Freitag sometime. :)

From the moment we entered the "Golden Anchor" at the beginning of October, we sensed that this would be no ordinary evening. We were greeted by a warm and relaxed team and immediately felt at home in the elegant yet cozy ambiance. The menu was a journey for the senses from start to finish. The main courses and entrées were always visual works of art and culinary explosions of flavor with perfectly balanced aromas. The service was impeccable – attentive, discreet, and yet humorous. The sommelier and the entire staff impressed us with their considerable expertise – we were advised on each dish and the accompanying wines, and informed about the products used. Mr. Freitag personally visited each table, inquired about our well-being, and, to top off the evening, delighted us with a group photo. Overall, an outstanding experience that transported us into a world of enjoyment from the very first minute. Many thanks to Mr. Björn Freitag and the entire outstanding team.

Went to Friday on Thursday (haha). It was an overall great experience. With some reservations. The wait between courses was delayed because a group from a well-known Buerer jeweler needed special attention. A sommelier, who always had interesting things to say, filled the evening, and we were also pampered by the always attentive service. The courses were beyond discussion, the flavors taken to the extreme: smoked was smoky, a spicy jus was concentrated to the max, sweetness was truly sweet, everything was always balanced, counteracted by acidity, crunch, or fruitiness. The corresponding wines for the course were spot on. A wonderful evening, the price of which I'm happy to pay, because it's a short break from everyday life. You satisfy your hunger, but there's more; each course is a careful composition of flavors and textures, perfectly balanced. A journey of discovery that even average earners should treat themselves to. One more note: The lighting was too dim for me personally. A more brightly lit table with a slightly higher color temperature seems more modern to me.

Once again, a real treat, and the service was super friendly. The evening couldn't have been more wonderful.

It was a wonderful, exceptional evening. In addition to the fantastic menu, we particularly appreciated the numerous special treats from the kitchen—both at the beginning and again before dessert. As a birthday surprise, I received an additional birthday dessert, a superbly delicious chocolate mousse. The service was very attentive yet stylishly relaxed. Special mention should be made of the restaurant manager, Armin, who played a key role in creating the feel-good atmosphere. My highlight was meeting Mr. Freitag in person, and not noticing any difference from his pleasant and friendly television appearances. We are once again thrilled after these experiences. We wish the other guests a similarly wonderful and enjoyable evening.

I enjoyed a 6-course meal and was delighted! The service was warm and attentive, and my questions were always answered in a friendly manner. They even took time for a quick chat. Each course was perfectly paired, accompanied by incredibly delicious dishes from the kitchen – amazing. Björn Freitag himself also graced us with the honor. An unforgettable evening – highly recommended, and definitely not the last.

A wonderful evening for two. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was very good, and the accompanying wines complemented it perfectly. The highlight was the dessert. The drinks were also excellent. Mr. Freitag visited every table at the end; he was just as personable as he comes across on TV. Definitely recommended.

It was OK, but nothing special. No single course was truly a revelation. The range for one star is very wide, and here it's rather low. The wait between courses was very long. After 2.5 hours, we were still waiting for the next course.

We had a wonderful meal here a few weeks ago. Well-chosen dishes, accompanied by matching wines. We were particularly impressed by the friendly and service-oriented staff. A big compliment for that! And of course, it was nice that Björn himself stopped by :-)

The atmosphere is fantastic, the ambiance beautiful, and what better feedback could there be than: AMAZING, thank you! Even my two left hands, at least in the kitchen, weren't completely lost here, and absolutely everything tasted excellent. The details and information were just as fascinating as a (to me) completely unknown cuisine that truly embraced the palate. A huge compliment goes to David. He took us "by the hand" this day, and just watching him fillet a turbot was a visual feast. Many thanks to everyone involved! It's a pleasure to eat here.

We spent a wonderful evening here. A warm welcome, attentive and friendly service, and creative and delicious dishes that were a feast for the eyes and palate. We were especially pleased that the staff had clearly listened attentively to our reservations, decorated the table appropriately for the occasion, and treated us to a very special greeting from the kitchen. The chef even found time to exchange a few pleasantries with each guest. A definite recommendation.

Die Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter vom Hereinkommen bis zum Verlassen des Restaurants war nicht zu überbieten. Aufmerksamkeit ohne aufdringlich zu sein stand an erster Stelle. Alle Gänge des Menüs wurden ausführlich erklärt. Die Weinempfehlung war souverän und passte perfekt zu unserem Geschmack. Die Qualität der Speisen war vorzüglich und wirkte fast wie eine Geschmacksexplosion. Aufgrund des Preises in Gänze mit Sicherheit kein Restaurant für häufige Besuche, aber der Besuch war jeden Cent wert. Danke auch an Björn Freitag, der es sich nicht nehmen ließ die Gäste persönlich zu begrüßen.

As a birthday present for my wife, we reserved a table at the golden anchor. After a very nice welcome we were shown to the table. The staff was always attentive, very friendly and always unobtrusively concerned about our well-being. The food was a pleasure in every respect and worth every cent! The waiting times between courses were short, which was also due to the many small, high-quality greetings from the kitchen. Contrary to our expectations, we were well satisfied after the six-course menu we had chosen. We would be happy to recommend the Golden Anchor without any reservations and thank you for a very special evening in a pleasant, stylish atmosphere.

We were here yesterday with friends. The selected menus were a revelation both visually and in terms of taste. Simply fantastic. The service was very attentive without being intrusive. Simply professional and very good. The price level is ambitious and justified. We'd love to come back.

Four of us stayed at the Goldener Anker during the week and were thrilled. A sensational evening where everything was right. Food, service, ambience was top notch. The question arose, why only 1 Michelin star? We were so excited that we booked the next appointment straight away. I think that says it all. By the way, Björn Freitag is really like he is on TV, natural, personable and a great host. There should be a special star for his team, especially Mr. Emadi. We are already looking forward to the next highlight.

It was an all-round successful evening from A to Z in the Goldener Anker restaurant. Mr. Emadi and his team guided us through the evening in a friendly manner and with a high level of specialist knowledge. The wine recommendations all went perfectly with the menu and we were also able to purchase the sensational white port wine afterwards (thanks again for that). All courses on the menu were picked up and some of them resulted in real taste explosions. In my opinion, the baked egg, rabbit & smoked eel and the pumpkin dessert were worth highlighting. The dessert in particular was absolutely world class. I have never eaten a better dessert in my life!!!! We will definitely come back and thank the entire team for a great evening.

It was our first time eating at Goldener Anker. Extremely courteous welcome, every single course was explained and the quality of the food: Excellent! Björn Freitag also personally welcomed each guest throughout the evening.

It was our first time eating here and we are still very impressed. Very warm welcome and this level remained that way until the farewell. The menu was a sensation and the many small “bites” as greetings from the kitchen were a great surprise. You can see that there is a lot of craftsmanship here and everything was made with love. We'll definitely come by again next time we have a "big" birthday. After three hours we were full and drove home super happy. Dear Björn and team, keep it up, the evening was worth every euro!

My husband gave me a four-course meal at the “Goldener Anker” for my birthday. We were there this weekend. That was really first-class: even the house aperitif tasted pleasantly sweet and refreshing. The wine pairing was very well selected and went perfectly with my menu. The food and the four “greetings from the kitchen” were lovingly and imaginatively prepared and absolutely delicious. The veal fillet that was part of my menu was cooked to perfection, the menu - with two of four starters - was balanced in quantity so that you could eat everything without feeling uncomfortably “full” afterwards. This was also ensured by the well-chosen distances between the individual aisles. The dessert I had was really a “chocolate” hammer. It doesn't get any better. A super nice service who looked after us attentively. And then Björn Freitag himself comes “around the corner” and was photographed with us “without resistance” and in a very friendly manner. Conclusion: a really great evening. If you happen to end up in Dorsten, don't miss it, it was something very special. However, you should reserve in advance, this can be easily done online. We'll definitely come back again.

Once again we were guests at the Goldener Anker restaurant! It's been a while since our last visit, but everything was perfect this time too. A great menu selection (here too, in keeping with the trend, some dishes had an Asian touch), super friendly service and a great selection of wines at really fair prices. We had the 6-course menu and the concept here also gives you the choice between two starters, two main courses and three desserts. The intermediate courses 2-4 are set accordingly for the 6-course menu and are omitted for the 4- and 5-course menu, depending on your taste. A really great evening - keep it up and see you next time!

Incredibly expensive and worth every penny! We treated ourselves to a family trip for our birthday and spent a fantastic evening at the Goldener Anker! The staff is both highly professional and deeply relaxed and takes a lot of time to answer questions. The menu was incredibly creative and offered taste experiences at the highest level. I particularly remember the Brussels sprout spaghetti with various ingredients and the onsen egg - wasn't it Brussels sprouts? An absolute highlight among many other gigantic accents. Since, in addition to the courses on the menu, there were always very sophisticated greetings from the kitchen, we were very full at the end of the evening. Also worth mentioning is the service provided by the very nice sommelier. He responds to each guest individually and always has suitable recommendations from the drinks and wine list. Unfortunately Björn wasn't there on Friday, but his incredibly great team looked after us wonderfully.

What should you write? Björn Freitag is in a class of his own. The restaurant undoubtedly lives up to the bill. The experience is an experience and will never be forgotten. Especially when Mr. Friday briefly stops by each guest.

Because of our 50th day of getting to know each other, my husband and I wanted to do something special. So we ended up in the Goldener Anker and were very satisfied. The ambience is stylish, calm, comfortable chairs, quiet background music, simply beautiful. We also really liked the service. Very friendly, relaxed, not artificial or forced. Everyone was responsive to the guests and you could tell that the employees love their work. We chose 6 courses with wine accompaniment and the sommelier served us really great wines. He not only looked at the food, but also looked at the guests to see what might be right. And the meal was a real experience. So many unexpected taste explosions on the tongue. Just great! Keep it up. Of course, such evenings are exceptions, but you should treat yourself to this pleasure every now and then. We would be happy to recommend the Golden Anchor.

On March 21, 2024, the four of us were able to enjoy an unforgettable evening at the Goldener Anker on the occasion of a shared wedding anniversary. Starting with the extremely friendly welcome, through the unique aperitifs to the incomparable delicacies of a 6-course menu, which was crowned with various greetings from the kitchen, everything was a fantastic experience. In addition, service is always attentive but never intrusive, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere characterized by the service manager, Mr. Emadi. During the gourmet dinner, we were delighted to be greeted personally by Björn Freitag. A big thank you to the entire Golden Anchor kitchen and service team for their outstanding performance. An absolute recommendation for every foodie!!

Went to Björn Freitag's restaurant for the first time today and were more than thrilled. The food was simply incredibly delicious. Lots of greetings from the kitchen in addition to the menu. The service was unique. Extremely nice and charming and the gentlemen were there for us It's not a shame to have casual, nice conversations. Mr. Freitag came personally and greeted all the guests. We were even allowed to go into the kitchen to take a photo in person. It was a wonderful evening and definitely not the last time we'll be there. A big thank you to everyone Team 👌

To use Björn Freitag's vocabulary, it was "Hammer". There were three greetings from the kitchen and a “pre-dessert” before the actual dessert. The evening was a culinary taste experience. The dishes were arranged like works of art. As is well known, the eye is involved. For each course, what was served was briefly explained. It was excellent and rounded off by excellent, very attentive but not intrusive service. Note: There are a few parking spaces at the restaurant. The access is signposted from the north, but I didn't see any signs coming from the south. Access to the restaurant is not barrier-free.

Very friendly staff, remarkably creatively prepared food with the best wine. The non-alcoholic drinks were also unique. Everyone gets their money’s worth here! The atmosphere is very pleasant and the arrangement of the tables allows enough privacy while eating. The only “difficulty” was finding a parking space.

We had a great evening at the Goldener Anker Björn Friday restaurant. The food was first class. A good selection, beautifully presented and decorated and skillfully prepared. The meat was tender, the vegetables were colorful and crunchy and the sauces were spicy, rich and perfectly balanced. My highlight was the ox - fried in pieces and dressed as a kind of ragout. So much flavor! The service was always friendly and accommodating and explained every course in detail - you can't even remember everything. Some people might find it a bit too loud for fine dining, but I still found it cozy and felt comfortable. Björn Freitag came by himself, greeted the guests and was simply a “nice guy” like you know him from TV. The price is of course very high, but if you consider the number of courses (6 + 5 greetings from the kitchen) and how much detail and effort were put into preparing them, the price is justified.

Wir haben uns unglaublich wohl gefühlt. Alle Sinne wurden bedient. Es war ein gesamt Kunstwerk, das Essen, der Service und das Ambiente haben es dazu gemacht. Danke für dieses tolle Erlebnis!
