A truly wonderful experience...of course, you can't afford it...but it was definitely worth it! The gin and tonic as an aperitif was amazing, and the non-alcoholic accompaniment to the meal was also very creative and delicious! With coffee, we had a small pastry and mousse...lovingly prepared... so, all in all, everything was fantastic...we felt very comfortable...thank you so much!

Simply wow!!! We received a friendly welcome right in the parking lot. The ambiance is super nice, modern, and cozy. We opted for the Schmakofatz menu (special requests were accommodated without any problems). Each course was served with the perfect wine. The meal was a journey of taste!! We were guided through the evening by two very friendly staff members. The evening was perfect from start to finish! We'll definitely be back, despite the long 660 km journey!

We were at the restaurant in Dorsten on Easter Saturday 2025. I took my time writing this review, I know, I hesitated for a long time, but I've decided to do it now because perhaps this review will help others who, based on TV restaurant rescue stories, expect very good "normal" cuisine—normal means a very good, decent piece of meat or fish with appropriate, very good side dishes, etc. The restaurant's website doesn't really reveal what to expect—I just checked it again. Frank Rosin can definitely cook, as you can see from the TV stories. He's definitely a master of his craft, so you can assume his team will be too. The absolute surprise was that there was no very good “normal” cuisine/dishes, but obviously a kind of “concept” cuisine, where you could see something on the bottom of a bowl that was probably edible - and it was - but didn’t look like normal food/a normal dish, i.e. a piece of meat or fish with the appropriate side dishes as described above... it was something completely different to what you would obviously expect - or at least also is - from a “shirtsleeve” guy like Frank Rosin - and I mean that in a positive way - that you see/experience in the TV stories... so you should really know that before you make a reservation and “eat” there... it is a kind of “art concept cuisine”... if you know that and like it, then it’s probably very good? - I definitely can't judge that - ... but if you don't know that and just want to go out for a really good meal ... then disappointment is basically inevitable ... because the whole thing is definitely not cheap, probably good value for money - worth the price - because it's produced with a lot of effort, probably including personnel, but you do have to have / bring with you and be willing to use the necessary budget ... and then it would be "nice" if the website didn't say "Honest as a currywurst," but rather, for example, "Honest: We definitely don't serve currywurst, but rather concept kitchen XYZ" ... Aside from that, we obviously didn't want currywurst, just to clarify ... The service was great, the ambiance pleasant, surprisingly "garnished" with sexually explicit slogans on some walls - okay, you can do that ... maybe it's not necessarily necessary for fine dining, but that's a matter of taste "the monkey said and bit his hand" -. As stated above, this review is not meant to be negative at all; it's just meant to help others know in advance what to expect, in case, like us, they didn't know beforehand and were hoping for something completely different... We like Frank Rosin as a person, the way he comes across on TV... definitely... and wish him and his ventures and team(s) continued success 🍀 We bought beautiful steak knives with his logo, which have become our daily companions when a good piece of meat arrives on the plate. And a meat fork and a paring knife, which have become my daily companions in the kitchen. This is just to show that we still generally look back on the event very fondly and, when using these knives, etc., we remember with fondness that we were actually once in a restaurant owned by !!! Frank Rosin !!!. And when our son watches one of these TV stories with serialized episodes, I really enjoy watching along, and we simply like this guy Frank Rosin and the way he handles these restaurants/inns, etc., which he tries to help save themselves and lead to a new future in which they can survive economically in the medium and long term... Sorry, this review turned out to be longer than originally planned... 😉

Good, home-style cooking. Just like your mom made it. Definitely an honest currywurst. Even for a small price, you get something for everyone. I would just like a more diverse beer selection. Enjoy! Dish 1: Crispy fried cod fillet on creamy spinach leaves with golden-brown sautéed potatoes. Dish 2: Goulash Tenderly braised beef goulash in a rich jus with hand-rolled dumplings and fine red cabbage.

Highly recommended! Very attentive and competent staff, each course is explained in detail, and drinks are immediately refilled upon request. The dishes are a feast for the palate and the eyes, almost small works of art—just what we imagined Michelin-starred cuisine to be! Very expensive, though...

Ein rundum gelungener Abend. Zuerst möchte ich den exzellenten Service erwähnen und loben. Selten wurde ich so gut betreut - ohne, dass es störend war. Die Sommelière ist dabei besonders hervorzuheben. Ich habe das Menü gewählt, allerdings eine Vorspeise getauscht mit dem "Signature Dish". Eine gute Wahl! Ich liebe Entenleber - und so dargeboten, das war wirklich besonders gut. Einziger Störfaktor: das nicht auf "Stumm" geschaltete Smartphone eines anderen Gastes. Ich werde sicherlich wiederkommen!

I would give it 6 stars if it were possible! We went to Rosin as part of the menu carousel and were absolutely thrilled. The truly sensationally friendly and competent team alone makes a visit worthwhile. The ambiance is beautiful, and it's a truly enjoyable time. And then the gin and tonic!!! My husband doesn't usually drink gin. After trying it at my place, it was clear: he's going to drink gin too. Well... And the food? Sensational, imaginative, and special. I'll be dreaming about the mackerel with herb salsa for a long time 🥰 It was an absolutely fantastic evening!!!! Thank you so much for that!

An absolute insider tip for gourmets with a sense of unbeatable value for money! The food? Extremely cheap - you can taste that too, but let's be honest: **You can only get a napkin in Monaco for this price. The ambience? Wonderfully down-to-earth – almost luxurious for the price! And the service? Attentive, fast and a sensation for this price range!** Caviar? Unfortunately out. So we had to console ourselves with a magnum of Dom Pérignon. There was no foie gras, but at least a bowl of aioli. Takes a bit of getting used to on gold leaf toast, but you take what you get. The biggest shock: When we asked if Frank Rosin himself was at the stove, the reassuring answer came: “No.” Lucky you! A TV actor in the kitchen? That would have turned out like a failed script. And then the bill: Only 465 EUR for two people! Of course we rounded up to 600 EUR - we are not from the lower class. If I happen to be in the area again and want something cheap in a hurry, I will definitely come back.

Thank you for a wonderful evening. We had a 5-course menu. In all courses there were components that simply thrilled us. Yes, not every single cream, foam or ingredient is a highlight on its own, but its diversity and combination is an experience for the palate. If I only highlight three special points, then it is this incredibly delicious mackerel with the herb salsa, the tastiest celery I have ever eaten (I don't like celery at all (I thought)) and the veal jus. That was definitely not enough, but not because I wasn't full ;) The service is attentive, responsive and charming, what more could you want and we really appreciated that the ambience is stylish and invitingly warm.

We visited Frank Rosin and had the pleasure of enjoying an impressive 8-course meal. The combinations of the dishes were unusual and creative, but every course was simply amazing! The delicate meat dish with caviar was unbeatable, as were the rare prawns, which were cooked to perfection. The tender pork fillet was also a real highlight. Every bite was an experience for the senses. Add to that the excellent service and the elegant ambience – simply perfect all around. A culinary adventure not to be missed!

An absolutely successful evening, the welcome was very warm and our wishes were taken into account when choosing the table. Particularly noteworthy is the very casual and friendly atmosphere, not as stuffy as in other star restaurants. The staff were not only very nice and attentive, but they also made you feel like you were a regular guest. I have rarely seen such attentive, competent and friendly service. The food was of course excellent, an absolute highlight both visually and in terms of taste. Allergies and intolerances were addressed. The entire facility was modern but not sterile and you felt comfortable right from the start. We really enjoyed our visit and we knew as we were walking that it wouldn't be our last visit. Once again, many thanks to the many good spirits of the house, we felt very comfortable.

A disappointing evening at Frank Rosin – disappointed expectations at the highest level Our visit to Frank Rosin, a name that should stand for culinary excellence, was a failure. With a menu price of €175 per person, we had high expectations - but what we experienced was disappointing and completely disproportionate. Experience with starred restaurants? More than enough We visited numerous Michelin restaurants – in Germany and around the world. But this experience fell significantly short. Quality, taste and service? Well below the level you can expect in this price range. The food – expensive, tiny, tastes banal The portions were so small that they barely reached the palate. A main course, which alone could cost €50, consisted of two bites. The desserts were overloaded with decoration, but equally disappointing in terms of taste. Nobody was full here - the only thing that was remotely filling was the bread between the courses. The ambience – questionable decorations and tastelessness The interior looked like a carelessly put together furniture exhibition. Particularly striking were paintings with questionable and vulgar sayings that are completely inappropriate for a Michelin-starred restaurant. An ambience that exuded neither style nor class. Guests who can only be disappointed Many guests apparently came for special occasions. But what you saw on their faces was disappointment or desperate whitewashing of an evening that didn't live up to expectations. You felt like you were in a bad play. Frank Rosin – the critic whose own restaurant fails It's ironic that Frank Rosin himself criticizes other restaurants. But this restaurant that he once ran does not live up to these demands. He is no longer officially the owner – perhaps for good reason? How does this restaurant still have a Michelin star? The loss of the second star is understandable, but even one star seems questionable. Taste, atmosphere and service do not justify the award. Conclusion – a star that has long since burned out Frank Rosin's restaurant disappoints across the board. The prices are absurd, the portions are tiny, and the atmosphere lacks style. If you are planning a special evening, you should avoid this expensive lesson - disappointed looks and empty stomachs are guaranteed here.

TOP Essen und ein TOP Erlebnis. Wir haben uns für das Menü entschieden. Jeder Gang war für mich geschmacklich ein persönliches Highlight. A great experience at Restaurant Rosin! We had the 5-course menu, which was culinary at the highest level. The home-baked bread at the beginning was a particular highlight. The wine pairing was well chosen, even if not every wine completely convinced us. The ambience is modern and individually designed - dark colors combined with targeted accents create a special atmosphere. The staff were extremely attentive, friendly and professional, with clearly defined areas of responsibility, ensuring everything ran smoothly. Admittedly, it's an expensive treat, but it's definitely a highlight for special occasions that will be remembered. All in all, Rosin deserves its 4 stars – a clear recommendation for gourmets!

I asked myself what you could give a dear colleague for retirement. This is where I came up with the idea of simply going out to eat with my colleague in a different way. Based on some of the reviews here, I was initially very critical as to whether he and I would have positive memories of this visit. Especially since I also pay attention to a relatively good price-performance ratio and it is important that my unfortunately very pronounced intolerance is taken into account. For me, I can only say that my first visit to an upscale restaurant was not disappointing in any way, but that the evening will remain fond memories! The service was excellent. From the very friendly welcome, the explanation of the dishes and recommendations for the choice of drinks to little things like a menu printed with your own name on the table, everything was implemented very personally. I had communicated the intolerance in advance and this was taken into account in all orders. The experience of simply ingenious flavor compositions has always surprised me and will not only remain in my memory, but I would also like to repeat this experience on a suitable occasion. Cheers!

The two of us had dinner in Dorsten after prior reservation. The reservation worked through the website without any problems. All in all, we were absolutely thrilled by the food and atmosphere. The reception and introduction by Mr. Bauer was a complete success. We chose the 3 course menu. The huge selection of wines overwhelmed us a bit, but we were allowed to try a South African wine and then ordered the whole bottle. The recommendation was just great and the price was completely justified at €59. Every course and the tasty treat served with it was more than successful, and the desert was the crowning glory of the beautiful evening. We were happy and full too. We spent a good 2.5 hours and felt very comfortable. The service and friendliness of the staff was simply great for us. To say goodbye we were given a bottle of white wine... We can absolutely recommend the restaurant and would be happy to come back... Chapeu!

We arrived and were immediately greeted in a friendly manner and shown to the table. The food itself was mostly tasty (there was some that we didn't like, but that's always a matter of taste). Unfortunately, we had several unpleasant experiences. On the one hand, the margin for your own gin is very high (a bottle in the online shop costs €30 and a glass costs €14). If it had only been that, it would have been quite tolerable. My wife gave me the evening for my birthday. Even though the voucher was only a few months old, we were still charged €100 more for the menu due to the increased costs. We found this quite steep, but the worst thing was how we were treated from the moment we mentioned the voucher. Even though my wife bought it we were treated like scum. The waitress was very unfriendly and made us feel like we weren't welcome or that it would be better if we left because we couldn't afford the food. We also didn't get our jackets back from the lady, so we were allowed to get them out of the closet ourselves. This was commented with: “Oh, you have jackets, you can take them yourself now”. The other waiters were very friendly, but this lady completely spoiled our evening with her manner. Unfortunately, for this price and such unfriendly behavior, the restaurant cannot be recommended.

My daughter and a friend were there a few years ago. Both still studying and not much money. Because of the high prices, both of them only had one soup each. The soup was tasty but that was it. They then asked for the bill and paid. Outside you found a message on the OUITTUNG. which read as follows... They only had soup please never grace our restaurant again. I think that says a lot about the owner's philosophy of life and character. Therefore only one star from the two girls.

Ich könnte jetzt dieses und jenes schreiben, schenke mir dies aber und mache eine Kurzfassung. Personal: freundlich und aufmerksam Essen: ausgezeichnet, mit überraschenden Elementen Wein: durch die Sommelière gut ausgewählt Ambiente: angenehm Gerne wieder. Na gut; Highlight war die Gelbflossenmakrele, hier das Zusammenspiel mit dem aromareichen Chutney, dicht gefolgt vom gerollten Hummer.

The Rosin restaurant was very good. The courses were beautifully presented and the menu was very well thought out. The wine selection goes great with the menu. Special requests were also implemented immediately. Very happy again

I was allowed to cook for me for 4 days by Oliver, the kitchen manager in Frank's restaurant, and by Frank himself. During the filming (Who Cooks the Best for the Guests) I was impressed by the cooking performance of both of them. I'll rate the rest when I've been to their restaurant.

Came from Berlin with my mother-in-law and we were all incredibly excited! 🤩 Every detail is worth every penny!👍 Exceptional and particularly noteworthy, in addition to the obviously excellent food, is the restaurant manager Jochen Bauer, who accompanied us very professionally throughout the evening. Gespannt fuhren wir zu Frank Rosin. Als frühere Inhaber eines kleinen Feinschmecker-Restaurants, sowie passionierte Hobbyköche… ein Muss! Extrem aufmerksamer Sevice, der uns bei Ankunft sogar die Taxitür öffnete. Personalisierte Speisekarte ( wir nahmen das grosse Menü). Sehr gute, kreative Küche… unser Highlight die Tafel Schokolade on der Entenleber… in den richtigen Zeitabständen serviert. Sehr persönlicher Service ( bei einem kurzen Ausflug auf den Balkon wurden uns sofort Auflagen für die Sitze gebracht). Zum Abschluss gab es noch das Buch des Chefs mit Autogramm! Der Preis ist gehoben, aber gerechtfertigt für sehr viel Handwerk und Geschmack. Etwas kurios: auf dem Herrenklo ein Bild mit einem obszönen Wort ( leider akzeptiert Tripadvisor dies hier nicht, man kann sich aber denken, welches es war ( fängt mit f an) und im ( sehr geschmackvollen) Restaurant ein Kunstwerk mit dem Schriftzug: "Cumshot“. Kenner wissen, was gemeint ist. Trotzdem seeeeehr schön gewesen dort!

Ein durchweg gelungener Abend mit einem Service der in seiner Art überragend war und einem Menü das von Anfang bis zum Ende hervorragend, kreativ und überraschend war. Jeder einzelne Gang zauberte uns ein Lächeln ins Gesicht und einen Gaumenschmaus auf die Zunge! So toll! Sicher ist so ein Abend teuer, aber ich fand es war jeden Cent wert und der Abend wird uns immer in Erinnerung bleiben.

I was in the Rosin restaurant again on May 1st. This time too everything was perfect. The evening began with a very friendly greeting and escort to the table. I particularly like the homemade bread with three different types of butter at the beginning. The entire meal, I had the Schmakofatz-Mdnü, was simply delicious and beautifully presented on the plates. A huge compliment to the kitchen. But the accompanying wine pairing was also excellent. The food and wines harmonized perfectly. Not to forget the excellent and friendly service staff. It won't be my last visit here.

We are big fans of Rosins Restaurants. That's why we wanted to test out what Frank Rosin has to offer in his own restaurant. To anticipate it; My wife is a passionate cook for our private area and she has already picked up a lot of tips from Frank. But now to our visit. The welcome from the staff was friendly and professional. Frank Rosin was in the restaurant. He took a quick look and then chatted with a guest couple for about 5 minutes. We would have expected that he would also briefly greet the other guests or ask during the course of the evening whether everything was okay, tasted good or something like that. But unfortunately he didn't show up again the whole evening. The menu was well explained by the staff and the individual courses were something special. Here you could experience special tastes. The wine pairing with the meal was also very good. Although the individual courses (portions) were very small (the main course could hardly be distinguished from the starters), we were full due to the large number of courses. However, we would always prefer very high-quality but “normal” cuisine, as cooked by Frank on his show, to this “star cuisine”. But that's a matter of taste. We would describe the atmosphere as quite nice. But it didn't blow us away either. Our conclusion: an exceptional visit to the restaurant. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether they like the price/performance ratio or not. It's not our thing. Above all, we would have liked a little more warm and personal hospitality, as Frank always recommends to restaurateurs on his show. Therefore, unfortunately I cannot give a clear recommendation here. We expected more for this price.

It was a very pleasant experience in this restaurant. The service was excellent. The staff were always busy making your stay as nice as possible. The food is to die for. All the dishes tasted wonderful. There were many dishes that you didn't even want to cut into because they were presented so well. We really enjoyed the evening.

Schönes Interieur, guter aber zum Teil etwas hochnäsiger Service, insgesamt dürfte die Athmosphäre noch etwas mehr in Richtung casual fine dining gehen. Das Essen ist schön, handwerklich perfekt durchgearbeitet. Die Portionierung ist bei vier Gängen (+ dreimal Scmackofatz bzw. Grüßen aus der Küche) absolut ok, dazu großzügig sehr leckeres Brot). Die Stilistik ist recht klassisch. Besonders gut: Amalfi-Zitrone mit Schwarztee, gegrillter Sellerie mit Miso, Meerrettich, Topinambur-Essenz, Kalbs-Onglet... Etwas mehr Wumms wäre an der einen oder anderen Stelle denkbar aber insgesamt absolut tolles Essen. Stern und Preis sind gerechtfertigt. Was mir nicht so gut gefallen hat war der etwas offensive Getränke-Verkauf ohne Transparenz der Preise. Schon klar: Getränkekarten sind in der Spitzengastronomie nicht unbedingt üblich und die Weinempfehlungen waren sehr gut aber ich fühle mich echt wohler wenn ich die finanzielle Dimension etwas besser im Blick habe. Schän: zum Abschied eine Flasche Wein als Souvenir.

Wir waren das erste Mal in einem Sternerestaurant essen und hatten somit kaum Erwartungen. Als wir dort ankamen wurden wir sehr herzlich begrüßt und zu Tisch gebracht. Die Speisekarte wurde uns auch sehr freundlich und ausführlich erklärt. Das Essen war wirklich toll angerichtet und auch geschmacklich gut. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend bei tollem Ambiente und sehr freundlicher Bedienung. Was auch noch positiv aufgefallen ist, dass uns ein Gutschein angerechnet wurde, welcher mir 2019 geschenkt wurde. Das war von Anfang an kein Problem. Zum Schluss gab es sogar noch ein kleines Geschenk 😊👍

We were absolutely thrilled! The food at the Pizzeria Trattoria Sardegna in Dorsten was absolutely delicious – freshly prepared and made with lots of love. The service was also very friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The location is cozy and inviting. We traveled all the way from Recklinghausen on a recommendation – and it was definitely worth it! We'd love to come back.
