This restaurant has everything you could want for a great review! A lovely atmosphere, charming Christmas decorations (currently!), attentive and friendly staff, and an extensive menu with something for everyone. They also have daily specials and much more! The food was delicious and the portions were very generous!

I had the mixed grill...it was delicious and a large portion. It also came with soup as a starter and a small ice cream for dessert.

Excellent and reasonably priced lunch menu, highly recommended. Definitely worth trying.

The lunch menu offers unbeatable value. For under €15, you get a changing soup and dessert with your chosen main course, excluding drinks. If you go home hungry, you're doing something wrong. The staff are friendly, but when it gets busy, they seem a little stressed, but that's completely understandable. Definitely a clear recommendation.

It was very tasty, and the veal platter for two was really generous. The quality is nice and tender. However, the fries and spinach don't really go well with it for me; I'd prefer a salad or some other vegetables. You can make yourself comfortable, although the decor is a bit dated; some of the figurines could be removed, but otherwise, the cleanliness is maintained, and the staff regularly checks in to see if everything is okay. Definitely recommended.

Always great! The food is delicious, the service is always friendly and helpful. The atmosphere in the front area is like "anno tuck"—I love it 😀 The only downside is that it's difficult to find a parking space. I'm happy to walk a few meters for the great restaurant 😀

It was our first time here, but definitely not the last time. We decided on the evening menu and were speechless with enthusiasm. Rarely have I eaten something that was prepared with so much love and dedication. The service was great. All in all a perfect evening.

We go there every fortnight and come from Bochum. The staff is more than friendly, you always feel welcome. The food is always excellent. With a delicious soup as a starter and the main course is very tasty, followed by a delicious dessert. They make the greatest effort to please their guests. The name suggests good, home-style cooking, which is ultimately what is delivered. In addition, various international specialties are offered, which - like the Tuna Tataki - definitely meet higher standards. All of this with friendly and fast service at really reasonable prices. For visitors to the Gelsenkirchen Music Theater (MiR) this is probably the best option near the theater.

The portion size is enough for a sumo wrestler... If you're still undecided, I can't help you. The food, I had the grill plate, was very tasty, the meat was very well fried, and I also really enjoyed the salad dressing. The portions are decent and the prices are also okay. The service was also very nice and often checked to see if we were missing anything. That's what I call good service. Nice restaurant, food is top, service was extremely nice, atmosphere is super cozy. The waiter who served us was a young man, I think his name was Manuel, he was really into it and did what he could to make us happy. Best minced steak I've eaten so far!

Sehr gern bin ich hier zum Mittagstisch. Dieser ist von Preis und Leistung unübertroffen. Es ist zum empfehlen etwas Zeit mitzubringen, häufig kommt man auch mit anderen Gästen ins Gespräch. Das Essen ist lecker, sehr schön angerichtet und die Bedienung ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wie in anderen gastronomischen Betrieben auch, besteht das Problem tatkräftige Arbeitskräfte zu finden, was dazu führt, dass die Chefin mittlerweile in der Küche ist und der Sohn und eine Mitarbeiterin das ganze Lokal bedienen. Hut ab sag ich da nur! Das bedeutet zwar auch, das ein oder andere mal auf das Essen warten zu müssen, dafür warte ich sehr gern.

Unfortunately I can't say much about the food and ambience, but I don't call it service if you find yourself standing in front of closed doors despite the opening times (Google says it's open) (Thursday, July 25th, 2024 at around 7 p.m.). Adjusted opening times on Google would be great, but at least there would be a notice on the door saying "Closed due to illness" or "We are on vacation until..." Thanks for the answer but unfortunately there was no note hanging in any of the windows at the time of our visit

I've been there three times so far with family and friends and almost everything was great. The only complaint is the long waiting times for the food to come out, but with a full shop you can understand that, so I give it 5 stars everywhere. Keep it up!

The fries could have been hotter. We were the only guests at the time we were there. The service was friendly and attentive The prices are still acceptable. What I didn't like was that the staff got pizza from next door and ate it right next to us at the table. For one thing, everything smelled like pizza (if I want that smell when I eat, I'll eat at a pizzeria). On the other hand, it doesn't make a good impression.

Were in the Goldene Gans for the first time! Friendly, accommodating, very attentive and most importantly, the food was outstanding. The four of us were more than satisfied! And the price is definitely justified. We will be back.

I was there for lunch. From starter soup to salad to the main course and finally dessert, everything is included and very cheap. Staff friendly and I had my food quite quickly. Conclusion. I would definitely go again. It is worth it .. And if you go, you should definitely make a reservation, it's definitely better so that you can still get a place

At times where it is difficult to get a dinner for two at below 40 EUR even at the fast food spots around, here is a cozy place which is in business for more than 30 years with an excellent choice of what I'd call east-mediterranean (formerly known as yugoslavian) kitchen, surprisingly enhanced by a swiss touch, at very reasonable prices. And this is not a fast-food spot! It is a nice restaurant (not in the ivy league, but a cozy and clean location with nice and friendly service). To add some detail: I've been there with my son, I had the Rump-Steak Swiss style and a large bear and he had one the the mixed grill plates and a large soft drink, amounting to a total of 57 EUR. For that price we got a free starter, some salad, a nice and friendly atmosphere and nothing less but a huge variety of excellent meat (as in all "yugo" restaurants I've ever visited). Long story short: If you like meat and prefer a real restaurant against the fast food shops, this is definitely a place you should try out. Despite all that, it is 50m from a subway station which is in turn only 1 stop from the main station. Most likely, you're going to visit this town, because it will host the UEFA Euro Championship (and its famous Schalke 04 football team). If you are looking where to get a good meal, try this out; you won't regret.

Food was super tasty. Staff could have been a little friendlier. For example, the vegetable plate comes with hollondaise sauce, which unfortunately I don't like. I asked if it could be served with another sauce and was told "nothing else would go with it". I ordered a pepper sauce instead of the hollondaise, but it was charged extra. Otherwise everything was tip-top, but the service wasn't that accommodating.

Waren schon so oft hier, bisher keine Probleme Heute: -Essen war teilweise kalt -Essen wurde falsch zusammengestellt und dann wurde behauptet man hätte falsch bestellt und hinterher wurde der Fehler des Personals eingesehen -Personal unglaublich unfreundlich und schlecht gelaunt. Versaut den ganzen Trip.

Heute super leckere Schweinelendchen gegessen.Platz war Reserviert , Bedienung sehr nett es gab eine Vorsuppe einen Nachtisch und Apperetif.Einzig die Raumtemperatur war schon sehr niedrig.

Wir waren zu dritt in der Goldenen Gans. Wir wurden sehr freundlich, von dem Inhabergeführten Restaurant, begrüßt. Das Restaurant ist liebevoll weihnachtlich dekoriert. Es gab vom Haus Brot 🍞 mit Dip, Oliven und Feta. Zur Hauptspeise hatten wir ein echtes Wienerschnitzel, einen Grillteller und Schweinefiletmedaillons mit Pfeffersoße. Alle Gerichte waren sehr schön angerichtet und sehr lecker. Das Fleisch war top gebraten und die Pfeffersoße gut gewürzt. Zum Dessert hatten wir Kuchen (selbst gebacken) mit Eis und Sahne, welches weihnachtlich schmeckte. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ist hier wirklich stimmig. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir haben am 09.12.2023 Mittagessen bei Goldene Gans in Gelsenkirchen gegessen. Es war mein Geburtstag. Draußen und auf der Menüliste stand bei jedem Menü Salat dazu. Wir bekamen zu unseren Bestellungen keine Salate, leider. Ich wusste nicht, ob das grüne Zeug im Teller vielleicht als Salat gedacht ist. Ein paar 2-3 cm etwas Grünes, nicht essbares. Später bemerkte ich am Tisch vor uns, daß alle vier Damen Salate bekamen. Sie hatten genau wie wir bestellt, Hähnchenbrustfilet. Also wieso wurden wir vergessen oder mit Absicht die Salate weggelassen? Muss man hier Stammkunden sein, um richtig bedient werden zu sein? Das Essen war lecker, nichts zu sagen.
