Frenk's is inconspicuous from the outside but a lovely little Italian restaurant from the inside. We were there for the first time and were very satisfied. The service staff were very friendly and our order was taken quickly. The food came quickly and I have to say I have rarely eaten better pizza than I did here. Nice thin dough with a great taste and topped just right. The second dish was gnocchi with salmon which also tasted great. The various desserts and ice cream are also highly recommended. The price-performance ratio is top. We were there around 4 p.m. and it was still relatively empty, but the place filled up relatively quickly, so I think a reservation is recommended. As usual in Mannheim, there are enough parking spaces available in the surrounding parking garages. We were completely satisfied and will visit Frenk's again.

Hospitable owner and a very varied selection of Italian dishes. The desserts are also very tasty. Good opening times, you can eat there at any time. The location near the city center and the water tower is also perfect.

The food was actually very good, but there is no indication anywhere as to which types of meat were used. Also, the delivery wasn't marked as delivered, which is a bit annoying. I would like to see a more detailed description of the ingredients as some people cannot tolerate certain types of meat or cannot eat them for various reasons.

Never again ! Our food was cleared away without asking and the waiter himself put the cutlery, which wasn't used, on the plate on the grounds that we had finished eating. I paid the full price, there was no tip for the rude waiter and there will be no recommendation.

Frenk's is bigger than you think from the street. It's pleasantly quiet at the back of the restaurant and the food and service were impressive. Price performance is okay, and we were able to spend a pleasant lunch break there. Thank you for your service in the kitchen and service.

Happiness means sitting at Frenk's at night, eating a double portion of the most delicious tiramisu in Germany and drinking a glass of fruity-sweet, sparkling Moscato d'Asti! We had pizza delivered and you can expect more from the prices. Pizza was just okay, only cut on the edge, dough too thin, part of it tears and the topping falls off. Once and never again.

In my opinion, pizza was quite good, spaghetti wasn't supposed to be that good, but I can't say more about it since I only ate one pizza. Unfortunately the service wasn't that good, we had to wait over an hour for the bill and the waiters seemed to be in a bad mood even when we ordered. Ambiance was okay.

Can’t speak for the food I can only speak for the ice cream. We stopped here in our sunny day of shopping to grab something cold on the way back to the car. Hands down delish and well worth it. The man serving ice cream spoke English and was so friendly. Kids got Oreo in a cone. I had what he recommended which was pistachio. So yummy.

As a Mannheim institution since it opened, there's hardly anything left to say about Frenk's, but as a non-Mannheim resident I'll try my hand at it. Located on one of Mannheim's most important and busiest thoroughfares, near the water tower, just entering "Frenk's" leaves all the hassle and noise of the street behind you. In the first room there is a gelateria with its sweet baking and the taste explosions of handmade ice creams, in the second room you enter a small, cozy taverna, and finally in the back third you reach a perfectly air-conditioned and sound-filled room, which is full of positive nostalgia just brimming with it. The friendly waitresses are always on the go and are always happy to respond to customer requests. The interior, toilets, tables and showcases are exemplary clean. The food is not only very tasty for a central location in Mannheim - across the spectrum of Italian-German cuisine, the famous pizzas are also crispy, cheesy, well topped and very tasty. Particularly noteworthy are the “Carne” and “Pesce” divisions - as well as the large selection of delights to the palate and the homemade dishes paired with a delicious wine. Frenk's desserts, which can be admired and ordered in the first third, make children's and adults' hearts beat faster. The panna cotta, as well as the tiramisu, are heavenly, the ice cream flavors are worth every single one of a Bachhus, a Venus and a grim Saturn - who, after the first lick of the "Gelato di Casa" beard, decides once again whether he is in the mood to take the lost souls with you today. We had pizza and salad. The dough was a ready made from supermarket with poor quality ingredients. Salad was tiny bit of lettuce.

I have to say that I am extremely disappointed. I'm in Mannheim regularly and my hotel is right around the corner here. Because of the “My Local, Your Local” report, including the celebrities who were there (there are 2 TVs outside), I decided to eat here, even if it doesn't look inviting from the outside and seems quite atypical. I deliberately avoided reading Google reviews in order to go in with an open mind. The selection is huge.. the price level is very mixed.. Some things make sense, but some things just make you shake your head. Like the Scaloppina Gorgonzola with pasta and salad I ordered for an unbelievable €25!! We're talking about 2 small pork schnitzels, tagliatelle and a side salad. The plate arrived after less than 10 minutes, apparently everything is already ready in the kitchen, fresh preparation would probably be impossible with all the selection... whatever... I had already thought something like that... The side salad barely had any dressing. I don't like yogurt dressing, so that was okay.. But I don't understand it either.. I've never had yogurt dressing in my entire life in Italy.. why do they do that here... bring me the salad, salt, pepper , vinegar and oil and that's good.. Yoghurt dressing is so not Italian at all... but I was also in the mood for pasta, gorgonzola and meat... The meat wasn't seasoned... a little salt would have been good for the meat... the pasta was average, nothing special... the gorgonzola sauce didn't taste good, I'm not even sure if it was gorgonzola... I love gorgonzola, I eat it I often use it or prepare dishes with it at home... so I have no idea what that was... So overall it's not tasty and the €25 doesn't bear any relation on the contrary.. bad.. with wine spritzer almost €30 then.. I'm still annoyed that I paid so much for such an unpleasantly prepared and tasteless plate I can't say much about the service, there was little contact. I wasn't asked whether it was tasty or whether I would like another espresso or dessert... a grappa or whatever... nothing I have no idea, but it had nothing to do with an Italian dining and gastronomic experience.

All very delicious, excellent lunch, the owner even offered us an aperitif and coffee which was not all very kind, from the chef to the waiters and finally to the owner, a truly beautiful environment. Next time I'm in Mannheim again we will definitely stop there again congratulations

The Frenk's was unbeatably good, received a super friendly welcome and a warm welcome👍🏼 Ordered the dish of the day: spagetti bolognese 🍝homemade pasta. The food was absolutely delicious, a dream 😋😍…….with draft beer, what more could your heart want 😉

Last week on Sunday around midnight I ordered a pizza with tuna. The order took just under 40 minutes, well no problem, we were six people. The pizza arrived and was dry and didn't taste the same but tastes are different, in my opinion it tastes like frozen pizza. From Sunday to Monday I had the worst stomach pain you could imagine, I didn't think anything of it. It doesn't stop there!!! Abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea and fever -> symptoms of food poisoning I generally don't like to criticize a store but since I was out for 3 days I can't keep it to myself. Will never visit the store again! And a tip, it's better to order vegetarian in the evening because it won't be a problem if it sits for a long time

Since we spontaneously asked as a large group at short notice, we were kindly asked to wait a moment. 3 tables were put together. The service is great and the children's wishes were taken into account. The food was wonderful and delicious.

If you, as a regular customer, are served such filth, something is going very wrong. You complain and they want to sell it to you as “normal”. Pizza halfway through. Who should eat the dirt? Addendum: Since I attach great importance to engaging in a conversation with such reviews in order to give the restaurant the opportunity to improve, I explained the criticism in a personal conversation. People expressed surprise and at the same time apologized several times. I think it's good and also a strong reaction that you admit your mistake. I was offered a new, comparable pizza that visibly looked better. In general, it would be nicer if such trouble could be avoided from the outset, but you often have little influence over it. All the better if you, as the owner, are able to deal with the criticism.

We drove to Mannheim specifically to watch the football game between Italy and Croatia. Albania was playing at the same time. It shows Italy playing without sound in an Italian restaurant and Albania playing very loudly. After several people complained, they quietly turned on Italy's tone. Yesterday I went to Frenk's in Mannheim with friends and had a wonderful experience. Our waitress Adriana was particularly friendly and attentive. Not only did she serve us excellently, but her warm manner also made us feel very comfortable. The food was delicious and the service first class. I can only recommend Frenk's and am already looking forward to my next visit!

Update: were there again yesterday with our boys.... we are always greeted very warmly.... always a full 5 from starter to main course... we have never been disappointed..... Everything was great... great service... good food... child friendly... Best restaurant for me in Mannheim.... Always receive a great welcome... keep it up 👍👍👍👍👍 5 stars are not enough

I have been visiting the 'small idyll' in the squares for years with a comprehensive range of offerings at moderate prices in the attractive rooms with friendly staff. 👏👏👏👍👍👍 What has recently significantly diminished the feel-good climate is the increasing immigration of the sweatpants culture, especially in the restaurant part, in which the neighboring tables immediately involuntarily become part of the private table communication or the freshly mangled white tablecloths and cloth napkins are more of a support for the tired elbow blogging than are needed for the stylish presentation of the delicacies etc. .... If you continue to follow this mix of tastes, visitors could soon appear in swimming shorts and rubber slippers and increasingly spread the 'Malle aroma'... Oh dear...

Lively Italian restaurant in the immediate vicinity of the Mannheim water tower. Italian cuisine beyond pizza and pasta (own ice cream counter with Italian patisserie). There is currently even an asparagus menu. However, the asparagus and potato lasagna almost only had potatoes, cheese and sauce in it - still delicious.

It took a long time for the food to come, it wasn't really hot and the noise was very high. In the end it's just an expensive snack for us Not recommended in terms of taste

I'm really sorry to have to write this, but we were there yesterday and unfortunately it was the worst pizza I've eaten in my life. The whole pizza was tasteless…..just like nothing. The Italian salad was presented on a plate, how are you supposed to spread that little bit of sauce around.... Dear innkeeper, you honestly can't offer something like that. Please do yourself a favor and go see the competition.

Good food but dry pizza crust, the pizza fills you up

Franks has been in Mannheim for as long as I can remember! But it has nothing to do with the past! Italian cuisine, sometimes like to eat at night. Go to Pizza Hut. We had soup that was cold, tortellini that didn't taste like anything, pasta with salmon that looked like anything but not salmon and a pizza that was just standard. The food arrived after 6 minutes, the pizza took longer and was also freshly made. The rest, canned food! Brutally bad!!!! The best thing was the water at the table. That was tasty. It simply has nothing to do with Italian cuisine, absolutely nothing!

Here you can get great service and delicious food even very late. Even when it got busy and hectic the staff was super polite. 👍👍👍

I have often heard about this pizza and was not disappointed. The tortellini pizza is super delicious. The prices are more than okay for the top quality (for 3 drinks, 2 of these pizzas and 1x tortellini alla panna 57€) Very courteous, nice service. Everything very clean.

Ich habe mir Salmone Alla Griglia. Das essen wurde sehr schnell (rd. 20-30 min.) und sehr heiß geliefert. Die Portion war riesig und hat ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Gerne wieder.

We just got there, the bruschetta was completely burnt and you could hardly eat it. Then I was looking forward to the main course, the noodles were ice cold, so I had to give them back. But we freshened everything up straight away.

Hidden Great Italian Restaurant! Please don't be fooled, the first time I thought it was a simple ice cream café?! No, there is a great, cozy restaurant waiting for you in the back area, which is unfortunately a bit hidden 😓 the staff is very attentive, the pizzas are very tasty, especially fish highly recommended... Service was fine, although we dealt with three different waiters they were all friendly. Overall it was very chaotic, and it was particularly unpleasant when the pizza drivers were constantly breathing down your neck. But I could even ignore that if the food had been good. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case: the bruschetta was carelessly prepared and tasted disappointing; it lacked olive oil. The gratinated noodles were acceptable, but also very bland. The biggest disappointment, however, was the rigatoni with cream, mushrooms and chicken. There were only 2-3 pieces of chicken on it, and the sauce only tasted like cream, with no seasoning or flavor. In my opinion, the food used to be much better. Unfortunately I won't be coming back again.

We feel cheated...there were 6 of us there to eat! Ordered two appetizer plates for two people and a pizza for all of us... two plates and two plates of pizza bread came! On the bill there were appetizer plates for 6 people at 16.50 each, so 99 €. When we complained, we were told very abruptly that the two plates were for 6 people, which was not true at all, as you can see in the photo. Something like that doesn't work at all, so Frenk's is over for us!
