We've been to the Felsenkeller Bad Suderode several times and have always been impressed. The food was very good, the service attentive and friendly, and the rustic, typically German ambiance perfectly suited the location. We'd especially like to highlight our larger celebration last year: All of our guests were pleasantly surprised, and in consultation with the team, we were even able to include classic customs like sawing wood. ❤️ Waiter Lars deserves a special chapter: You either like him or you don't – but somehow, as a true original, he's an absolute must. His special sayings and jokes are a bit reminiscent of Loriot. 😉 A big thank you to the whole team – we'd love to come back! ❤️

We were guests in Bad Suderode for a week and found this great restaurant near our accommodation. We received a friendly welcome, even though we didn't have a reservation. The food and service were excellent! Recommendation: Be sure to make a reservation when the weather is nice! We'd love to go back!

Four of us and our son had lunch at the Felsenkeller. We received a warm welcome and very friendly service. The time from arrival to ordering drinks was perfect. The time from ordering food to having our food at the table was also very pleasant. And now for the kicker: Despite the fact that everything outside was absolutely packed with guests at the grill, etc., we were served promptly and well. Since they didn't have the Sauerbraten, I ordered the Schwarzbierfleisch (dark beer beef). It doesn't melt in your mouth...it melts! Combined with the sauce, it's a dream. During our three-day vacation in Bad Suderrode, we stumbled upon this restaurant quite by chance. The beer garden atmosphere immediately appealed to us. We opted for schnitzel and tarte flambée, which were delicious along with the beer and dessert. We will definitely be back.

The food in the beer garden was very good, and just a short while ago the staff had been friendly. I was there again now, and what a change. We hadn't pre-booked, but the staff made no effort, even though there was still space inside. I would have expected hospitality, where you could have a drink until a seat became available. But you could tell you weren't welcome there, but were a nuisance. It's sad to see such a change in two weeks.

Absolutely delicious!!! I had asparagus (at least 1 pound) with schnitzel and potatoes. The salad garnish was also wonderfully early summery. The rump steak with potatoes was amazing, with a summer salad and various fruits. Everything was prepared and combined with love and heart!!! We'll be back!

I always say, I'd rather go to a restaurant with less food selection but then it's perfect. We had the schnitzel gratinated with tomatoes and mozzarella. Also on the plate were excellent baked potatoes and a salad not as usual but leaf lettuce with cucumber, tomato, pepper, melon, grapes, blueberries, apple and dressing with dill. Everything was very consistent and damn it was a very large, absolutely tender schnitzel. Overall huge portion. The homemade ginger lime lemonade with freshly cut mint is also very tasty. Clearly recommended.

The food reminded me of a typical restaurant: warm but unexciting. Schnitzel was still ok, broccoli was a bit dead, hollondaise sauce was okay, fries were dry and hard. Location ok, but there's not really anything to see here. I found it rather poor value for money as it wasn't exactly cheap. I won't come here again.

Yesterday we had another nice evening with friends in the Felsenkeller restaurant in Bad Suderode. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive without being intrusive. And the food? Simply fantastic! It was a pleasure again – fresh, tasteful and prepared with great attention to detail. Thanks to the entire team.

Unfortunately you can't give zero stars. We had reserved a table and arrived 15 minutes after the announced time. The waitress on duty greeted us with the words: "You had a reservation for 7 p.m." It was not only rude but also unnecessary, unusual and invasive to "greet" guests like that. When we wanted to take a seat, already a little irritated, she came up again and went one better: "So another 5 minutes and I would have called you." We left the restaurant immediately; in such an atmosphere you don't have to spend any money and you lost your appetite from the first few seconds. How could one have had a happy meal after such a reception? We now ask ourselves whether the lady would have wanted to throw us out after 50 minutes when minutes are obviously at stake in this restaurant? Never again and we will always advise against it.

For a restaurant where the waitress makes a fool of you as soon as you enter, you can't get a better rating than 1.

Das Essen war der Hammer ...ganz lecker Wir hatten Hirschbraten mit Rotkohl und klösse und ein Grünkohlteller mit Schweinebraten Knacker und klösse wirklich top. We immediately thought about where we could best sit with the dog. Everyone was super friendly and the service was great. The food was exceptional. Price performance fits here in my opinion. Wo soll ich anfangen.... Wir waren zu 12 Personen im "Felsenkeller" essen. Wir wurden sehr herzlich begrüßt und sehr schnell kamen auch unsere bestellten Getränke. Jeder von uns fand schnell das passende Gericht, da die Speisekarte wirklich für jeden Geschmack etwas bietet. Unglaublich war das, was dann folgte. Als unser Essen nach kurzer Zeit kam, waren schon mal alle begeistert. Liebevoll angerichtet, optische Frische... Super. GESCHMACK!!! wird hier wahrlich groß geschrieben. Ich persönlich hatte Gänsebrust, auf den Punkt gegart und butterzart, mit Rotkohl, handgeschnitten und perfekt abgeschmeckt, Klöße und eine Sauce die den Namen verdient. Ich durfte von Oma das Zanderfilet probieren, perfekt. Von meiner Frau bekam ich ein Stück Schnitzel, zart und saftig. Das Steak von meinem Bruder habe ich nur optisch bewundert. Super. Auch im Geschmack, wie er es mir mitteilte. Der ein oder andere hatte noch Wild, welches auch sehr gut war. Leider erst zum Schluss sah ich, dass noch Aioli und Brot übrig waren. Der Hammer. Das war Alles so toll, dass wir gerne öfter zum Essen kommen.

Personally, I had goose breast, cooked to perfection and tender as butter, with red cabbage, hand-cut and seasoned to perfection, dumplings and a sauce that deserves the name. Grandma let me try the zander fillet, perfect. My wife gave me a piece of schnitzel, tender and juicy. I only admired my brother's steak visually. Super. Also in the taste, as he told me. Some people still had game, which was also very good. Unfortunately, it wasn't until the end that I saw that there was still aioli and bread left. The hammer. It was all so great that we would like to come back for dinner more often.

Nice restaurant with very tasty food. Unfortunately the one star is given due to the poor service. The waiter constantly comes with "funny" and sometimes cheeky sayings, which didn't go down well with us as a group. During a visit with my group, my food was forgotten, even though it was just an appetizer, and so I was able to eat almost an hour after everyone else.

Went there spontaneously today and had a great meal. Everything freshly prepared, simply great. We will definitely come back with our children and get the two stamps from the Harz hiking pin, which are nearby.

We ate here and the atmosphere is appealing. The waiter said he was funny, we didn't think so. We had schnitzel which was very good and pike perch fillet with risotto. The pike perch was hardly edible because it contained so many bones and scales! The complaint to the waiter was not really taken seriously but was ignored with stupid sayings. Only when I explained to him that bones are not normal in a fillet did he become more serious and wanted to bring a replacement. We gratefully rejected it for the reason that it probably won't get any better.

We walked from the hotel briefly through the spa park past the bathhouse to the restaurant in the forest, which was a great little experience in itself. We had a large group of people there to eat and ordered tons of different dishes. The map is colorfully arranged. From hearty German to tarte flambée to Mediterranean, etc. All the dishes were of very good quality, very tasty and sized just right. I ordered the roast venison. This comes directly from the hunter in the surrounding forests and is pickled, prepared and long-cooked by the host himself. And you can taste it. A lot of things taste like “handwork” and homemade in a positive sense. The innkeeper is more of an experience gastronomy type, which for us was moody to cheerful, but that could seem frightening or hurtful to some people who are sensitive or buttoned-up. In any case, the landlord lives his job with passion and that's a good thing. Because there is really enough more appearance than reality in the gastronomic landscape. Then it's better the other way around. We will definitely come back after a hike in the surrounding forests.

If that was supposed to be funny, I couldn't laugh at it. Overall, I felt very uncomfortable during this visit.
