The food is good. The service has deteriorated significantly since the move. The staff is very inattentive. Card payments are not accepted. Information about this is barely visible or not at all.

Super friendly service. Extensive menu with a wide selection of vegetarian dishes. Very tasty and fairly priced. Very nice atmosphere. It's definitely something special.

Fantastic food at fair prices. Unfortunately, the service was quite subpar. Both my starter and main course were forgotten. So I skipped the starter, and the main course arrived when everyone around me (five other people) had almost finished theirs. We would have loved to have another drink or try dessert, but we weren't served after the main course. We had to ask for dessert, which was included in the set menu. My plate from the main course was cleared away without a word just before I paid. A real shame; I had imagined a small Christmas party would be much nicer.

My mom and I ordered/shared two dishes that I remember from my childhood friend's mother's kitchen, and I wasn't disappointed at all. They tasted great and brought back so many memories. Friendly service.

This was our first visit since the move, and it's clear that things have improved quite a bit. Especially the ambiance and the amount of space now available for guests. We were generally satisfied with the food. The service was excellent. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. A very enjoyable evening that we would gladly repeat! Thank you so much!

A large and delicious selection of vegetarian dishes. We were here in a wheelchair, and unfortunately the entrance isn't wheelchair accessible, but they were incredibly helpful in getting us up the small set of stairs – thank you again! We'd love to come back.

The food is good, but there's room for improvement. A few more spices would really help the dishes! There's a great selection, with something for all dietary needs. The new location makes it less cozy.

The ground beef skewers, rice, and vegetables were delicious. The dessert was also outstanding. The atmosphere is an old German half-timbered house, decorated with Afghan and oriental decor. :)

I'm absolutely thrilled with the Durrani restaurant in Gelnhausen! It's the only authentic Afghan restaurant in town, and in my opinion, the best. Everything is freshly prepared – from the aromatic lamb dishes to the rice and naan bread – simply a taste experience! The restaurant is large, beautifully decorated with lovely oriental details, and creates a warm, inviting atmosphere. The service is extremely friendly, attentive, and courteous – you really feel welcome here. If you love authentic Afghan cuisine, you absolutely have to come here! It's an absolute must for me, and I'm always happy to return.

I said to my partner as I left Durrani, I was sad because for 31 years of my life so far this is the first time I have eaten Afghan food and I feel I have wasted my 31 years. Maybe some of the best eating I’ve ever done. I’ll be back to Gelnhausen just for Durrani.

A true highlight in Gelnhausen! We recently dined at Durrani for the first time and were absolutely thrilled. The restaurant offers an exceptionally harmonious concept: modern oriental cuisine of the highest quality, combined with a stylish ambiance and warm hospitality. The menu is varied and features both traditional Afghan dishes and creative interpretations. I particularly recommend the tenderly marinated grilled lamb – a poem! The freshly baked breads and homemade dips are also a delight. The staff is extremely attentive and courteous, and gave us excellent advice. You can tell that great importance is placed on quality and the well-being of the guests. The ambiance is modern and cozy at the same time – perfect for a relaxed evening with friends or a special dinner for two. We will definitely be back and can wholeheartedly recommend Durrani. A culinary experience that enriches Gelnhausen!

So simply saying that the restaurant is good isn't enough. It's somewhere between extremely good and so good that words can't describe it. Inside, a truly unique atmosphere awaits you, with oriental carpets. The food is as good as almost anywhere else in Germany, and it's not the same old, overused dishes like "doner kebabs, pizza, burgers, etc.", but rather completely authentic and unique dishes from Afghanistan. This really enhances the taste experience, and the best part is that they make this authentic cuisine super delicious with incredibly large portions. In the end, despite the uniqueness and exceptional quality of the dishes, the prices in the restaurant are more than fair and extremely affordable. If you want to experience the level of Michelin-starred cuisine at the price of a cheap German restaurant, this is the place for you! You get these incredibly delicious dishes for a price comparable to a schnitzel. All in all, it's a dream!

All four of us enjoyed the dishes. There was everything from vegetarian to lamb and chicken. There was no charge for an extra portion of rice, which was great. The service was quick and courteous, and the ambiance was perfect. However, it doesn't quite rank for 5 stars, as I felt the food lacked the necessary spice.

Delicious dishes, and it was difficult for me to choose from the multitude of options. With four people on a city tour, everyone chose something different, and it was all delicious. The ambiance is also very lovingly maintained and authentic. The service was very nice and friendly. I think we'll stop by again to try one or two of the very interesting-sounding dishes. I went there for dinner with my husband and we absolutely loved it! There is a beautiful menu with cool nice to know things about Afghanistan. The selection of dishes is great, there is something for everyone, including vegetarian/vegan dishes. Our food was extremely tasty, the service was super friendly and accommodating. We will definitely come back, totally recommended!

A real insider tip! The food was fantastic – authentic, fresh and full of flavour. But what really made the evening special was our waiter Belal. Not only was he incredibly attentive and professional - he is also incredibly handsome! His charming manner and radiant smile made the evening perfect. Honestly, I would visit the restaurant again just because of him. A culinary and visual pleasure at the same time!

Mega delicious food (had the chicken skewer), fantastically seasoned. The rice was refined with raisins, the meat was tender and the vegetables were cooked to perfection in a tomato-like sauce. Thumbs up, highly recommended 👍
