Gasthaus Zur Krone in Gelnhausen

We've been looking for good German cuisine for a while, and luckily we found it in this restaurant. The food is all freshly prepared, no deep-fried schnitzel (which is still being prepared in the kitchen). The staff goes out of their way to accommodate each guest, not pushy, and the menu changes. Thank you for the excellent food, we will definitely become regulars. Please 🙏 keep it up.

My husband found this inn while passing through. Even though we asked for lunch at 3:30 p.m., the waitress kindly agreed. Excellent homemade food (as was the delicious dessert), and the whole family was extremely friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend it, even for travelers. Thank you!

While passing through, my husband and I visited the Gasthaus zur Krone today. The food was excellent. The service was first-class, attentive, professional, and unobtrusive. The ambiance and the medical facilities were clean. Definitely worth recommending.

Very good side salad, slightly sour and lemony, which I really enjoyed. Wiener Schnitzel with green sauce and boiled potatoes was excellent. Very good burger and very good Schnitzel Paris. The mushroom soup and marrow dumpling soup were also very good. The malt beer could have been a bit colder, but it was the best malt beer brand there is. The fries were a bit too salty for me. Overall, excellent food. Very professional service, the staff are very friendly and very well trained. The decor is rustic and features an incredible number of photographs and historical objects, which I really like. Parking is a bit difficult. You should probably make a reservation.

I was there with 8 people. The reservation was adjusted several times in advance. Always accommodating. The food was exceptionally good. Focus on meat and fish dishes. (There are a few alternatives for vegetarians, although not prominent). Very good price-performance ratio. Can only recommend it!

I've been here for the second time since Easter and it was very good. Can only recommend the restaurant. Friendly service and various dishes are offered outside of the menu.

Very friendly hospitality and a nice, rustic atmosphere - everything was very cozy and friendly. There were four of us there, we had free choice of seats and the nice lady there told us what daily specials there were to choose from, as well as the menu. The food was served quickly and warm and it tasted excellent! The vegan selection is mediocre, but my vegan friend found a very tasty vegan pasta. The dessert (panna cotta, two kinds) was also really good! Desserts are not listed on the menu, but we were offered them by the friendly waitress and they were beautifully presented. All in all, a really nice restaurant experience and we would love to come back! :)

We were back in the Krone for the first time after the reopening. Furnishings were the same as before, cozy, rustic. Very nice staff and a large selection of food. It was very, very tasty, we will be back soon.

We went there for dinner today and I highly recommend this restaurant. It has been run under new owners/team since 2025/March and they have everything under control. They are also very friendly and very dog ​​friendly too! The food tasted great. All the best to the entire team!

Today is our first time here at the Gasthaus Zur Krone. So I don't want to say anything, but the inn is more than recommended. Such nice and friendly waitresses and always smiling. It seemed to us as if everything was running in harmony here. Now to eat 😁 I had a Parisian schnitzel and was so impressed. I believe in the kitchen a chef cooks with heart and love. So overall a 1 with + We'd love to come back.

We came across this restaurant by chance and spontaneously went there. The atmosphere is very nice and rustic, you can find old tools everywhere on the walls and you can sit comfortably. Good home-style, simple Hessian cuisine. Rustic and lovingly decorated guest room. Wild garlic soup very tasty and nicely prepared. Portions of the main course are manageable and the taste can be improved. Unfortunately, the side salad was no longer so fresh. Nice addition to espresso.

We went there spontaneously to have something to eat. The food was great value for money. Reservation is generally recommended. The guests were consistently nice and the service was very accommodating. I can only recommend the restaurant to everyone! Anyone who would like to work as a temporary worker in the service or kitchen is certainly welcome.

The four of us were very cramped and the food was disproportionate to the price paid. For a Jägerschnitzel, which costs 17.90 euros, the mushrooms, meat and sauce should be of better quality. We were disappointed and came to the restaurant with different expectations, especially since the reviews were actually very good.

Sehr angenehmes Ambiente mit vielen schönen Dekorationsartikeln an den Wänden. Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und sehr aufmerksam angerichtet. Ein kleine, schicke Gaststätte mit viel Liebe gestaltet und geführt. Der Küchenchef kam noch zu jedem Tisch und hat den Gästen alles Gute fürs neue Jahr gewünscht. Gibt‘s kaum noch heutzutage. Reservierung ist unbedingt notwendig ! Im Sommer kann man sehr schön draussen im Innenhof sitzen.

Super loving and warm hospitality and the food is terrific!

Wir waren an einem Montag da. Das Schnitzel war gut (Schnitzeltag) und der Preis auch, allerdings der Beilagensalat etwas zu klein. Das Dessert für meinen Geschmack zu viel Dekoration und zu wenig Eis. Aber das ist Geschmacksache.

Super gemütlich, Hundefreundliches Restaurant, Das Essen richtig lecker (lediglich das Dressing des Beilagensalats war absolut nicht mein Fall ... auch meine Frau sagte "Naja ist nicht doll aber ich esse es halt") Die Schnitzel hätten für mich gern noch etwas größer sein dürfen (das Fleisch war zart und schön dünn geklopft da hätte ich gern mehr von gehabt).

Leider war das Essen beim Servieren nur noch lauwarm, auch Spülmittel-Reste im Bierglas.... Das wurde aber ausgetauscht. Mir persönlich war es zu laut und zu eng im Lokal. Die Damen vom Service waren zumindest trotz Stress lustig.

Eine tolle Auswahl an Schnitzel. Das Herren Trio ist der Idiale Einstieg wenn man mal sich mal 3 Schnitzel Schnitzel aus der Karte gönnen möchte. Quasi als Test für Pfefferschnitzel, Schlemmerschnitzel oder Kronenschnitzel. Bin satt geworden und habe von dem Herrentrio schon eines ausgewählt um noch mehr zu bekommen.

Super Essen sehr gemütlich immer wieder gerne nur zu empfehlen. 👍

Sehr freundliche Bedienung. Man geht gerne auf Wünsche ein. Das Essen ist gut Deutsch und lecker. Es gibt immer zur normalen Karte eine wechselnde Karte. Ich durfte heute ein absolut tolles Wildschweingullasch genießen und als Vorspeise eine Kürbiscremesuppe. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Man sollte aber reservieren. Es kann schon voll sein.

Kleines aber feines Restaurant mitten in Gelnhausen-Höchst. Das Essen war wir immer vorzüglich und liebevoll angerichtet. Die Portionen ausreichend - nicht zu viel, aber auch nicht zu wenig. Ich War heute mit meiner Mutter, und meiner Nachbarin dort. Wir haben folgendes bestellt: Getränke 1 Pils, und 3 Radler Speisen 1 × Putenmedalions mit Salat, 1 × Pfifferlingschnitzel mit Salat, 1 × Pfifferlingrahmsuppe, 1 × Jägerschnitzel mit Salat. Der Service war wie Immer sehr Freundlich und Zuvorkommend, Die Getränke waren auch sehr Lecker ( okay da kann man nicht viel falsch machen 😅😅) Auch die Speisen waren von der Suppe beginnend und endend mit dem Jägerschnitzel mega lecker, ich kann das Gasthaus zur Krone nur Empfehlen. Das Ambiente ist sehr Ansprechend

Das Gasthaus Zur Krone im Gelnhäuser Stadtteil Höchst ist ein uriges Lokal. Das Personal ist hilfreich und zuvorkommend. Ob man die Speisen vor Ort verzehrt oder daheim macht keinen Unterschied. Gut bürgerliche Küche. Genau wie man es in einem Landgasthof erwartet. Netter Service der gerne auch telefonische Reservierung annimmt.

Wir waren eine grössere Familie zum Abendessen an Ostern und waren sehr zufrieden. Auswahl, Qualität, Geschmack und das gemütliche Ambiente mit freundlichem Service überzeugen. Wir kommen beim nächsten Besuch in Gelnhausen gerne wieder.

Wir waren sehr angetan von der Deko, die absolut liebevoll war. Auch war das Personal sehr freundlich. Leider gab es beim Essen dann mehrere unerfreuliche Gegebenheiten. Zum einen kam das Schnitzel meiner Tochter trotz vorheriger Absprache mit Soße, Fischstäbchen konnte man nicht bestellen, obwohl sie auf der Karte standen. Daraufhin wurde sich für Schnitzel entschieden, leider war hierzu die Mayonaise dann aus. Die Auswahl des vegetarischen Essens war mehr als übersichtlich. Wir wurden gefragt, ob wir Salat in Feldsalat umbuchen wollen. Leider wurde uns nicht gesagt, dass das a) einen Aufschlagspreis kostet und b), dass dann Speck darüber ist... Für mich somit nicht mehr essbar und doppelt ärgerlich. Das Essen war recht kalt und zum Schluß ging das EC-Lesegerät nicht... Alles in allem leider kein erquicklicher Besuch, was aufgrund des schönen Ambientes mehr als schade war.

Das Rumpsteak mit den Pfifferlingen wurde medium rare bestellt und in der heißen Pfanne mit einem geeigneten Messer geliefert. Die Qualität war ausgezeichnet. Das Fleisch entsprechend schmackhaft und saftig. Die Bratkartoffeln als Beilage waren etwas knapp bemessen. Der Salat nur durchschnittlich. Der Preis von 25,80 kann hier als günstig und preiswert angesehen werden. Meiner Ehefrau wurde ein Schnitzel serviert, das eigentlich nur auf dem montäglichen Schnitzelkarte zu finden ist. Das war ein großzügiges Entgegenkommen seitens der Küche. Das "Herrenschnitzel", drei kleine Schnitzel mit unterschiedlichen Soßen, waren gelungen und schmackhaft. Das Personal war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Restaurant mit vielen Plätzen im Freien hat eine angenehme Athmosphäre. Das war sicher nicht unser letzter Besuch in der "Krone".

Gehen Sie ins Gasthaus zur Krone und folgen Sie dem Geräusch monotonen Klopfens von gutem Fleisch aus der Küche, um anschließend perfekten Schnitzelgeschmack zu genießen. Ein Muss für die, die in der Nähe sind.

War zum Schnitzeltag dort, geschmeckt hat es, aber die Portionen, sowohl Vorspeisensuppe, als auch Schnitzelgericht, waren allerhöchstens auf Seniorenniveau, so dass ich nicht wirklich satt wurde. Schade!

Wir waren nun schon öfter in diesem Restaurant, das gemütlich und klein ist und mit tollen Speisen und einem hervorragendem, inhabergeführtem Service aufwartet. Spitze. Immer eine Empfehlung wert.
