A lovely restaurant with cute interior, amazing staff and delicious foods. Worth to come here, and not just once. You will never find a better place than this in Munich :)))

I ate at the Deutsche Eiche restaurant. Without a reservation. I had Wiener Schnitzel, two Augustiner beers, and later some Kaiserschmarrn. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. I received excellent service from Ameen. Good value for money. Highly recommended!

I had beetroot risotto. Very delicious, with an Augustiner beer. So everything one could wish for.

A good inn with high prices. We ate there on a Monday evening and still managed to get a table. Unfortunately, my friend had to order three times because they were both sold out of the first two dishes (venison goulash and sauerbraten). That was quite annoying, but it was a Monday evening after all. There aren't really any vegetarian options besides salad or Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle), which is a real shame. The prices are also quite high compared to other restaurants nearby with the same menu. The portion sizes, however, were adequate.

Everything was well-maintained, centrally located, and there was a nice rooftop terrace. What I didn't like was that Wiener Schnitzel was the most expensive item on the menu at almost 30 euros, and there were so few side dishes with it... I had to go home hungry. The other meals were more substantial. A shame.

I was there for the first time. It was very expensive. The furniture was a bit dated, which is a shame. The decor was okay, but it wasn't practical for sitting for long periods or eating out, as the stools were painful. You have to order food downstairs at the entrance and pick it up yourself :/ The view is nice, protected by the protective windows.

I've never experienced such poor and unprofessional service. As a guest, you could almost be glad not to be completely ignored. The waiter wasn't particularly friendly from the start and seemed unmotivated. During our entire stay, we weren't asked once if everything was okay or if we wanted to order anything else, like drinks. At the end, when we spoke to him about it, the waiter reacted angrily and his tone was extremely unprofessional. His explanation was that he was the only one serving and was busy. Such situations can, of course, occur, and we understand them – especially based on our own professional experience in the restaurant industry. But the way this was presented and communicated to the outside world is the real problem. And at the end of the day, it's not the paying guest's problem. Ignorance, absolute unfriendliness, and unprofessionalism should not occur, no matter how stressful the business is. The food was good, but unfortunately played a completely irrelevant role in the overall experience. Addendum: After criticism, my companion was insulted by the waiter as an “idiot”. As a guest, one could almost be glad not to be completely ignored. The waiter was not particularly friendly from the very beginning and seemed unmotivated. Throughout the entire visit, not once were we asked if everything was okay or if we would like to order anything else, such as drinks. We came to the hotel for dinner on the recommendation of friends. We were very pleased with the service! Our waiter, from Venezuela, was very attentive; it was immediately obvious he cares about his guests. He recommended excellent dishes, and our choice turned out to be a real success. We ordered the schnitzel, which was delicious and well-prepared. We were also pleasantly surprised that the waiter spoke good English—this made our conversation easy and comfortable. Thank you for the excellent service; we will definitely be back!

Today I was “only” on the roof terrace with a sensational view of the people, but every time I’m there everything is perfect, from the service to the food to the ambience.

You can sit comfortably in the dining room and on the roof terrace.

Are you on your way to a Turkish snack bar? I've known the Eiche since the 80s and always enjoyed coming here when I was in Munich. That's over now. A cult institution in Munich for decades, and rightly so! Nothing has changed! The food is still top-notch! And the service is top-notch, relaxed and approachable!

A rustic Bavarian pub we've been going to for 30 years. Good food, sitting outside and people-watching, or better yet, enjoying the view of Munich from the rooftop terrace—simply fantastic. Friendly, attentive staff. We'd love to come back!

In addition to a set menu of typical German dishes, there's a daily special, where you can try different options like spinach puff pastry or goulash, both delicious.

I came here with my sister while we had a nice layover in Munich and so happy we did. We had the fish and chips which were very good and a glass of Augustine Lager and it was so refreshing and cold. Our waiter Amit was an absolute sweetheart who made our experience that much better! 🤗 And to top it off, they have the cutest rooftop bar! This is an absolute must visit restaurant!

Hello restaurant managers, What a shame, what a shame, what a shame. Nice service, but unfortunately, we've been let down by the food for the second time in a row. Regards to the kitchen. The sauce on the turkey steak with mushroom sauce and spaetzle was unfortunately too salty and far too fatty. Hello, when I eat turkey steak, I value healthy eating. I can't stand such a salty, fatty sauce. No apologies when I get back. Oh yeah, because the plate was empty. Full. If I had sent it back, it probably would have ended up in the trash, right? Have you ever considered that this is one of the reasons you eat something that's absolutely not tasty? You really had a good kitchen once, but you've now messed up the second chance. What a shame, what a shame. My suggestion is to coach the kitchen and the service staff on how to handle criticism more professionally. Unless you don't need it. Wonderful experience. We were looking for a place to try authentic Munich dishes, and we hit the nail on the head. The menu is extensive and varied, with fairly average prices. Excellent roast pork and delicious cheese spätzle; the sweet potato fries are also delicious. Truly generous portions and a wide selection of beers and drinks. I was there for the first time in a long time. And I was unfortunately disappointed. Okay, there's nothing wrong with the menu being smaller due to an event. We arrived quite early, so the restaurant wasn't busy. The drinks were carelessly placed on the tables without being assigned to a particular guest. A no-go for me, that's fine. The real shocker was when everyone had something to eat except me. I allowed myself to say that I thought there was still a meal missing. The waiter's response: "I've put everything on my bill" – service is awful. This place is truly lacking in qualified staff. If I had been alone, I would have gotten up and left after hearing that.

Highly recommended, and already a legend and institution, but they're not resting on their laurels; they simply do a great job, cool and confident. Wonderful, and I'd go back anytime when in Munich!

Food top, service disastrous, over 1 hour waiting time and menu and order only after request - a pity

The service was very nice, but unfortunately the food had nothing to do with traditional German cooking. The Kaiserschmarren (smothered pancakes) was the worst of the entire evening! It was sticky (not fluffy), drenched in fat, half-raw, and tasted really bad! The Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) was okay, as was the roast pork. The schnitzel was just plain bad, small, and the portion wasn't justified for the price/taste. I've been raised on German food every day since I was a child, and I also come from the heart of Bavaria, so I'd say I know what German food is all about! But unfortunately, you won't find much of it in this restaurant. It's a nice restaurant, but they definitely need to improve the dishes and menu a bit, as I can't imagine people who grew up with Bavarian/German cuisine eating here.

We had dinner with friends at the Deutsche Eiche last night – and it was truly a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. We immediately felt welcome and well looked after. The atmosphere was cozy, typically Bavarian, yet stylish. The food? Simply outstanding! Every course was perfectly flavorful, lovingly prepared, and of the highest quality. We can especially recommend the Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancakes) – an absolute highlight! Light and baked to a golden brown – it couldn't be better. The drinks selection was also impressive – from Bavarian beer to fine wines, they had everything. In short: A place you'll gladly return to. A big thank you to the whole team – we'll definitely be back!

The best gay restaurant in Munich! Every time I visit Munich, I dine at this restaurant. The waiters are very professional and the quality of the food is excellent.

Super delicious food. This time I had the salad with turkey breast. The Bardolino was beyond amazing. The outdoor seating area is very cozy. And the service is so friendly.

An island in the heart of Munich! Many famous people frequent this place! The service and cuisine are top-notch. It's a 2-minute walk from Gärtnerplatz and a 30-second walk from the Reichenbach Straße tram stop. The Viktualienmarkt is just 2 minutes away!

A historic place with delicious food, too? Is that possible? Yes, here at the Deutsche Eiche. Delicious food and the rooftop terrace are worth a visit in both summer and winter. And when the senior owner offers a Munich stanzl, the visit is perfect.

A top-notch restaurant in itself. Surprisingly, we were immediately given a table for two. But it took a long time to get the menu and the food. It was also packed. And loud. The food tasted good but was a bit oily. Both the turkey schnitzel with spaetzle and the Kaiserschmarrn were good. The prices are, as is well known, a bit above average for Bavarian restaurants in Munich.

First we had a drink downstairs and unfortunately the service wasn't great. Later we went to the roof terrace and unfortunately things didn't get any better. Unfortunately, the service has an attitude that is very inappropriate and unprofessional for the service. The other thing that is extremely annoying is that smoking is not officially allowed on the roof terrace when it is closed, but many guests still smoke and the service does next to nothing about it. I personally wouldn't come here again and I definitely wouldn't recommend Landen. We asked the staff several times whether they could ask the guests to stop smoking because the roof was already closed, unfortunately the staff couldn't/didn't want to do anything. In addition, 1 star is not only because of smoking, which is also a very big violation of the rules, but as already described the service was very bad and unprofessional!!!

More than good, the Latin American bartender was very cordial and friendly, incredible energy, my first time in Germany, I don't speak German and thank God we ran into him, who explained to us the best dishes in the restaurant and recommended some rooftops and key points of the city! I will recommend this restaurant to everyone I know, it is excellent so if you don't speak the language you can ask for Latin! The food was too good we wanted to repeat but they serve plenty and with what we ordered we had plenty!

We had an Augustiner regulars' table evening and found it very nice there. Great food, extremely nice, funny, attentive service, best all-round care (culinary of course)... we'll be happy to come back....

Finally ... ...we managed to eat here again. So there was great anticipation, as our friends and acquaintances repeatedly praised the cuisine. Because the schnitzel was often mentioned as something special and we couldn't find anything else on the menu that was more interesting to us, we decided on the Wiener schnitzel with potato salad. The food came to the table very quickly after ordering. Unfortunately, the schnitzel and the potato salad were just about average - both in terms of taste and in overall quantity. In addition, the portion of potato salad clearly outweighed the two small and holey schnitzels. Unfortunately, our waitress wasn't the most attentive and the bill was more or less thrown on the table. We were with friends and on the interim bill we all had food together. Even after a long wait, the waiter didn't come to the table to divide things up and, since we wanted to leave, we had to carry the money after him. Unfortunately, the conclusion here is that the “Deutsche Eiche” is a fortunately existing institution, but despite the great popularity, guests who are not regulars should receive more attention.

I recently visited the restaurant on the rooftop, and unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant. There were three of us in the group, and we all decided to order coffee. Big mistake. The coffee was downright terrible—bitter, sour, and clearly made with little care or attention to quality. Within a short time after drinking it, all of us experienced stomach discomfort, which suggests something was seriously off. Whether it was stale beans, poor water quality, or unclean equipment, I can’t say, but it was enough to leave a bad impression.

At the beginning we were greeted very friendly by the waiter, but unfortunately the dinner was not so pleasant. We ordered beef soup and fried sausage as a starter and roast duck and roast pork as a main course. As a starter we had pumpkin cream soup and sausage. Later the waiter came and said that the roast pork was out. Well, that can happen, we kept the duck and chose another dish. Unfortunately, only the other dish was brought to us. When I asked where the duck was, we were told that it was also out. I was upset because he would have had to tell us that straight away, then we wouldn't have ordered in the first place. But what really made me angry was that the waiter brought the roast duck to the other tables that came after us. When we complained to another waiter we were told it was a misunderstanding and probably a language problem because the waiter who served us spoke poor English. The problem, however, is that my friend spoke German to him, so it couldn't have been a language barrier. If he doesn't even speak German, he shouldn't serve. In any case, it ruined our whole evening. We were looking forward to regional specialties, but instead we either got something we didn't want or didn't get what we ordered. In the end we had to pay full price, which I find unfair!

Everything is great, the only downside is that the seating is way too narrow. You have trouble sitting when you're sitting back to back with another person. But we really enjoyed the service and the great Christmas decorations!

Drop your tired thoughts and go to the German Oak. 2 people run the store there with unparalleled patience and immense kindness. The food was a bit pricey but very good. The fish wasn't a Loupdemare but a frozen pike, but it was wonderful on the rice with fresh vegetables. The wine is simply delicious. A bit expensive but it was Oktoberfest time. Very nice atmosphere.

On several evenings I tried 4 of the main courses. I was most satisfied with the Vienna schnitzel with wonderful sauces and very tasty potato salad. The turkey breast was also very tasty, the mushroom sauce was lovely but unfortunately too salty (unacceptable). The wurst - nothing special. The pork was the most boring, especially because of the tasteless potato dumplings. However, the salad with it was fresh and I liked it. The quick preparation of the dishes - big plus. My overall impression is good. A little more innovation won't hurt.

Outstandingly good real Viennese veal schnitzel - there are few places in Munich that do it so well. The other dishes are also really great. We enjoy eating here alone or with friends. People who don't get along with the service here in the reviews just seem to be unable to deal with humor and a wink. We always feel completely at home... An institution that I wouldn't want to miss in Munich. Warm food in the evening until 11 p.m. – always a safe bet. Really fair prices for southern German conditions. Keep it up!

Nice restaurant, schnitzel and currywurst unfortunately only get 3 stars. Currywurst was cold, schnitzel was very fatty. But the Kaiserschmarren gets it out again. The portion plus the taste 10/10. Price for two drinks, two main courses and a portion of dessert 65 euros. That's good.
