The ambiance felt like an upscale fast-food place, except the window seats overlooked the water. The service was curt, even though the place wasn't even half full, and I was interrupted when I asked a question. They did answer, but unfortunately, I didn't get anything more than a standard reply. I felt like I was just being processed. The food was okay, a bit small, but okay. Nothing special, nothing worth mentioning.

Eating out in Rostock is expensive. Understandably. Simple food is fine, too. But €21 for gyros is really expensive, and the price for takeout is outrageous. They also charge an additional €1 per person, which is surely already factored in. After all, a drink also costs €6... that was our LAST VISIT to THAT GREEK RESTAURANT!

If you're in Rostock, you should visit. Delicious and good value for money. Located by the harbor.

A superb view during the meal, which tasted wonderful (I had the fried salmon with rice and spinach). The waitress was very friendly and always arrived at the right time. The portions were all very generous and not as small as elsewhere for a lot of money. All in all, a very pleasant evening.

Beware of tourist traps! I was visiting a friend and wanted to go out for a nice meal with a view of the harbor. The view of the harbor was impressive, but the restaurant wasn't. The waiters were nice, and we were served quickly and received in a friendly manner. When we looked at the prices, we had to swallow a little. But hey, you don't treat yourself otherwise. So, let's order. I got a small portion with mediocre fries, a bit of gyro, and a pork skewer. It also came with a bit of iceberg lettuce, a tomato wedge, and some tzatziki. The meat was unfortunately a bit dry. I'd say it would be good for a snack. However, the small dish actually cost €21, and I thought that was way too much!!! And charging €6 for a 0.4-liter apple spritzer is also a bit too much, I think… I definitely won't go back there…

It was truly delicious, and right on the harbor, unbeatable. Of course, it was also correspondingly expensive, but that's understandable. It was possible to go without a reservation, but it's not recommended. It's better to make a reservation :)

We went there twice for lunch while on vacation. We absolutely loved the food. The gyro plate, taramas, and bread were all delicious. The service was extremely friendly. The gyro was very crispy and perfectly seasoned. The side salad (especially the coleslaw) was also very good.

The portions are very modest (small) for the price. We weren't even offered ouzo, as is usual in other restaurants. The taste is good. But this was our first and last time here. What a shame.

The food tastes good. The plates aren't overly heavy, but you'll still be pleasantly full. The staff are really friendly, but I miss the spirited hospitality. I also miss the ouzo (or a non-alcoholic alternative) offered as a welcome drink or while waiting for the food.

Classic Greek dishes, good and tasty. However, I miss the Greek feeling and the much-vaunted warmth. We would eat there again, though.

We've been here three times in a row now, with our dog, our children, and our friends. The service is excellent and the food is very, very good. Today I had a pork fillet that was incredibly tender, something not every restaurant can achieve. We'll be happy to come back. The service is super friendly and attentive. We were there today and were very satisfied. The food was excellent. The portions were more than sufficient. You get really full. We sat outside today, which was lovely, by the water. While we ate and chatted, we were able to watch boats, both large and small. A very good location. We'll be back next time we go on holiday. The staff were very friendly and cheerful. They kept coming over to ask us if we were satisfied and if we had any requests for drinks, etc. 👍👍👍

Exactly what you'd expect from a good Greek restaurant. The service is friendly and very attentive. The food is very good, though not exactly cheap for the portion size... but it's filling. The restaurant's beautiful location probably comes at a price, so you can overlook that.

In short – 5 minutes and my child is full, great spaghetti! For us parents, a wonderful dinner with delicious homemade wine! We'll definitely be back here again! Great staff and atmosphere!

I made a reservation in advance. When I arrived, they told me I didn't have a reservation. You should come spontaneously and see if you can get a table. We did get a table. The food arrived an hour later, after others around us had already arrived and left earlier. The food was also more for less. The rice noodles were just overcooked mush. The second round of drinks was then forgotten.

Very tasty, sitting with a view of the piers and boats. Excellent service. I'm currently eating a carbohydrate- and sugar-free diet, and it was great here.

It is what it is...classic "Greek" dishes, or rather, what many people expect from such a restaurant. Unfortunately, the taste isn't great and it's also too expensive. It feels a bit like a tourist spot that's not really interested in welcoming repeat customers.

The best thing is that they speak Greek and have a Greek food menu.

There used to be more on the plates. We still got full. However, people are less and less likely to come by after the main course. Unfortunately, the Italian restaurant next door put up its umbrellas at some point even though there were no customers there; it's true, there was a complete lack of sunshine.

The service and ambiance are very good. The meat is tender. The salad wasn't good: lots of iceberg lettuce (it fills the plate), cheap white dressing from a canister, and dry tuna from a can on top. That's a real joke for €14.50.

We were very impressed and can highly recommend this Greek restaurant. The service was very good and attentive. The food was absolutely fantastic, and not drenched in oil as you're often used to with Greek cuisine, but quite the opposite. It was simply delicious. We will definitely return here. We paid around €50 for two people, including drinks.

Amazing food, tables on the boardwalk, and excellent English-speaking staff. The gyrro plate was incredible, especially with the tzatziki sauce and potato wedges. My wife made a dinner of several appetizers, which were all delicious. House wine was light but good. It was 70 euros for 2 people, so not exactly a casual night out. But for our one visit to Rostock, I was very glad we ended up here. There was a lot of outdoor music, and not all of it good, but the restaurant still managed a nice atmosphere and good vibe. Highly recommended.

The food is nothing special. The service was friendly and attentive. The very loud and borderline idiotic neighbors at the table were extremely annoying. The host can't do anything about that. But the tables are also very close together. The prices are absolutely reasonable.

The location was okay. But the food was so-so. Nothing special. Only the bread on the appetizer plate tasted great. The salad for the main course wasn't great either. And the main course didn't really do anything special. We got an ouzo at the end, but I only drank a few drops. Everything was fine for my wife and child. But I wouldn't come again.

We went to the restaurant for the holiday. Sure, it was busy, but waiting over 90 minutes for four meals is pretty crazy. And when the food finally arrived, some of the skewers were still raw. The service was attentive but overwhelmed. For the rather high price (€145), the quantity of food was too small. Overall, I'm not satisfied and won't be coming back.

There were 4 of us. Eating on site. Ambiance is typical Greek style. The food is fresh and good. Unfortunately it's not enough for 5 stars. Service staff was super nice.

We chose this restaurant based on the reviews and the fact that we were staying across the street at the Price Radisson Hotel... A mistake! There are definitely better Greek restaurants in Rostock... We started with an absolutely substandard salad... Any bag of salad from a discount store beats this by far, even without the dressing! We were hungry, so we chose a plate of Crete Piato (gyros, minced steak, skewers, and side dishes). The quantity was quite okay, but the prepared dishes were beyond the pale of a restaurant; some grilled food joints do it better. The tzatziki was most likely from a Metro bucket. The so-called potato wedges were some kind of half-cooked, fried potatoes from the freezer... A shame, maybe I should have gone for fries like my colleague. All in all, we were full, but not really good. To praise: excellent espresso! Absolutely Italian quality!!

The location by the harbor is certainly beautiful in summer when you can sit outside. The interior, however, is rather cool and functionally furnished with typical Greek accents. The service was first-class. The food had a somewhat German feel. The tzatziki lacked flair. The gyros weren't roasted enough and had little seasoning. It simply lacked flair. It was a run-of-the-mill Greek restaurant, so to speak. The baked feta cheese was good, though. The prices here have also gone up quite a bit... well, like almost everywhere since inflation.

Food, service, everything was great

Today we visited the restaurant "Der Grieche" at Warnowufer 60 in Rostock and were completely satisfied. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, which made our stay very pleasant. The food and drinks were delicious and authentically prepared. Particularly noteworthy is the great view of the harbor, which we were able to enjoy during our meal. Overall, a recommendable Greek restaurant with a nice atmosphere.

We sat at a small table for two, unfortunately a waiter kept taking my chair. What was very annoying was that the table was moved further towards the door, but unfortunately that was of no use. The food was very good

Unser Kurzaufenthalt in Rostock führte uns zu diesem Griechen. Das Restaurant wird professionell im Sinne des Inhabers geführt. Die Lage am Wasser erlaubt offenbar auch den etwas arroganten Ton dort. Wir empfehlen es nicht weiter.

Great food, inexpensive lunch menu

The restaurant was packed. There were four of us and we got the last table. Given the abundance, we thought, well, that could take a long time. Far from it. The waiter came to our table pretty quickly and picked up the drinks. They were there in no time. Our food came about 10 minutes later. That was so delicious!!! Well, the prices are a little higher, but you also get great food on your plate and friendly service. If we are in Rostock again, we will definitely come back. The food is good, the portions have shrunk significantly. The volume is high, soundproofing elements would help. The service is OK, but the waiting time is often long. Price/performance unfortunately overall not satisfactory.

The food is good, tzatziki was great, meat was a bit drier, but good for Greek cuisine. Despite the restaurant being busy, the service was quick and courteous. The ambience is quite ok, people sit close together, the menu is printed on the table. This saves space and you can order straight away.
