Ate no-frills Greek pita gyros. I enjoyed it very much.

-The waiters were very overwhelmed and unfriendly -waited a long time for the food - When you think of a fish platter, you imagine something more than just calamari and a piece of fish. -value for money poor

Already the second time that the delivery person (curly hair, sports suit) had no change. How can something like that be? Should this generate more income for the boss or more tips for the delivery person? The first time it was 5€, the second time it was almost 10€!! I can imagine that it wasn't just me who felt this way. Pure rip off!! Luckily we still have honest and delicious Greeks in the city. Thanks for nothing.

We were there for the first time a few days ago and were totally satisfied. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly and accommodating. I come from the catering industry myself and unfortunately you rarely find that in the city anymore. The prices are also completely reasonable and the portions are quite large. We were almost full after the starters. We will definitely come back and would definitely recommend it ;) ❤️

I can't confirm the bad reviews about the Schlemmerblock. We were also there with the Schlemmerblock. The portions were more than enough, so I had half of my dish packed for me. Food was good. The side salad was a bit unimaginative and very simple. The fried potatoes could also have been crispier. I would actually have to give the service two ratings. The lady who served us was extremely friendly and accommodating. He also asked in between if everything was okay. After dinner there was an ouzo and an espresso on the house. The male waiter was a bit out of his job, very grumpy and in a bad mood. I also find the new ambience very modern and appealing and yet you know that you are still in a Greek restaurant.

Food was OK. The salad could use a better dressing and the tzatziki wasn't our thing either.

The Delphi has been around for decades and is still a good place to go. Lunch is highly recommended. The portions are decent and the prices are reasonable. However, recently no ouzo has been served on the house, which I think is a shame. That's my opinion that about visiting the Greeks.

According to the notice on the front door, the restaurant is open until 3 p.m. and serves hot food until 2:30 p.m. We arrived at 2:02 p.m. and were greeted by an unfriendly waiter who looked at his wristband and said, "We're only open until half past two!" We have been visiting this restaurant quite frequently for many years and nothing like this has ever happened to us. Apparently there was a change of ownership because the food wasn't quite as good as it used to be.

Very tasty food, just be careful when ordering that the right things are delivered. I've had a Bifteki delivered to me three times now instead of the Bifteki special (with Metaxa/cheese gratinated and a little more expensive), but it was always returned/delivered quickly and easily. To avoid something like that, maybe rename the Bifteki Special to Metaxa Bifteki or something like that? (The names are quite similar, which can lead to confusion)

The last order was faulty, we told them by phone and we were told that when we placed our next order we should let them know that they would come to meet us. We did it today and nothing was done. If you let us know and it's ignored, it's a shame we pay enough for the food and you don't get everything delivered.

We were only in Mainz for the weekend and found the restaurant by chance. It's a Greek restaurant and I highly recommend it. There were 4 of us, we had different dishes and we were all very satisfied, everything tasted very good and was rich. The staff was very friendly, the food came quickly and the atmosphere was great for us. No reasons for complaints, we would be happy to go again if we visit again.

Grumpy, grumpier, the grumpiest- was one male waiter there. The other one was ok. Place: before their renovation it had Greek vibes, now it's a modern place only. Food: baked potatoes- yummy, though they use the same oil over and over again, which is so unhealthy! İt makes you wonder, if they do the same with other foods. Meat: Hacksteak, grilled chicken were very delicious, Gyros didn't have much fat either - which is very important to me. İn general a lot of (bad, cheap) oil is used, also for the salads. İ care about the foods I put into my body. The place is tasty, but eating healthy is something else. PS: they have a cheap lunch menu from Monday to Friday.

Nice garden outside the premises. The decor inside is a bit outdated. Could wait for renovation. A plate of meats (lamb, chicken and pork) deliciously prepared. The portion was too big, my friends couldn't eat it. The seafood wasn't very tasty. One of the shrimp seemed stale. The squid was missing something and the fish was tasty. High-level service. The gentlemen were dressed up, nice and at the end they served a glass of uzo.

The restaurant was packed and yet they made room for four adults and three children. The food was good and we didn't have to wait long with the children.

A pretty tasty Greek. The volume is enormous, at least in the back area near the stairs. It was very busy that evening, which was evident from the waiting time. But everything was just about within limits. Starter (for 7 people approx. 20 minutes) Main course approx. 45 minutes after ordering) Prices are perfectly fine.

Were there again for the first time in 9 years. Ambience freshly renovated inside, toilets are clean, outside not attractive. Except for one, the waitresses were very nice and polite. One is grumpy (maybe not his day). Food was very good and very plentiful. We were pleasantly surprised. About what we experienced 9 years ago.

Of the three other Greek restaurants from the voucher book that we have visited in the last few weeks, in our opinion Delphi is still the best in terms of quality and quantity. 👍 The side salad wasn't that great this time. We sat in the basement room. There are mold stains everywhere, the paint is peeling off everywhere. Uncomfortable chairs. There is rubbish everywhere. Food and service rather average. We felt a bit unwanted. It was definitely an “unforgettable” birthday. The parking situation is also a disaster.

Unfortunately our visit last night was not as expected. Two waiters were standing right in front of the entrance door, we asked them if there was a free table without saying anything and we were shown with a hand gesture that there was free seating. Then we turned around and went into the restaurant. We were a bit surprised by this “nice” behavior. Since we became aware of the restaurant through the gourmet block, I had already looked at the menu online in advance. To our shock, the Bifteki Special now cost 23 euros on the menu in the restaurant, instead of the 16.80 euros as on the homepage. The side salad looked a bit sad and not really appealing, but our main prices were really very good. All in all, the service could be a little more alert and the prices should be adjusted online as quickly as possible, but our main courses were really very tasty. Given the Schlemmerblock discount, we would definitely come again.

During our trip to my hometown Frankfurt, we decided to take an excursion to Mainz, the capital of Rheinland-Pfalz. It was lunch time, and I wanted some food from the Eastern Mediterranean Area. There were no Balkan places close, so I picked a Greek place. Delphi is hidden in a back alley but easy to find with a map app. It was a hot summer day. There was inside and outside seating. As it was already 2 pm, there were not many guests left. Some were sitting inside, some outside. We entered the venue and had to go all the way to the back to see any staff. I asked if we could sit anywhere, and we were told that they close at 3 pm. I knew that, although usually this means that you cannot enter after 3. Strange, especially for a restaurant with folks from that region. The whole staff was unusually unfriendly for a Greek place. Instead of the usual family like greeting and service, we had cold and dour waiters. The food was tasty though my pork souvlaki as well as my husband's pork steak was very tough. Also, the place does not take credit cards, only German debit cards, which was not uncommon 10 years ago but is rare these days.

Die Bedienungen waren ausreichend und die Anzahl der Gäste überschaubar. Trotzdem ignorierte man uns mehrfach. Bis wir mal bestellt hatten verging gefühlt eine Ewigkeit. Der Arzt Kellner sprach kein Deutsch - der nächste kam dann irgendwann… eine Karte hatten wir uns selbst organisiert. Das Essen kam schnell. Leider war der Salat total lieblos und qualitativ schlecht: nurEisberg und etwas Krautsalat - das viel zu ölig und dann noch faule Salatblätter. Hauptspeise zunächst okay, dann der Ekelfaktor: Langes schwarzes Haar im Essen! 🤢 Es gab keinen Ouzo aufs Haus und es wurde sich auch nicht wirklich entschuldigt! Beim Bezahlen war ich echt sauer dass man nicht mal von sich aus etwas angeboten hat! Auf Nachfrage hätte ich mir dann noch Nachtisch oder Kaffee aussuchen dürfen aber die Lust aufs Essen war mir gründlich vergangen! Hab nach Metaxa gefragt, der wurde mir dann auch gebracht. Wir kommen nicht wieder.

Wir waren mit einer Gruppe von 7 Personen dort und hatten eine Woche vorher schon reserviert. Wir bestellten um 19.10 h 3 Vorspeisen und die Getränke sowie die Hauptspeisen. Während die Getränke noch im üblichen Zeitrahmen serviert wurden benötigten die Vorspeisen schon rund 30 Minuten. Das Personal schaute großteils bei der Arbeit mit finsterer Miene. Freundlich- oder Gastlichkeit waren an diesem Abend nicht gegeben. Als wir nach 1 Stunde fragten ob es noch lange dauern würde kam ein „Ist gleich fertig“. Nach 75 Minuten wurden dann endlich der Hauptspeisen serviert. Eine Entschuldigung oder ein Einsehen nach ansprechen über die lange Zubereitungszeit gab es zunächst mal nicht. Erst nach Diskussion wurde sich dann entschuldigt. Leider war das servierte Essen zum größeren Teil bei Mehreren von schlechter Qualität. Ich hatte z.B. einen Grillteller Zeus für rund 23 Euro. Das Souflaki war zäh, das Schweinefilet wie eine Schuhsole und sehnig und das Suzuki trocken und verwürzt. Als die Rechnung dann mit nur kleinem Trinkgeld unsererseits beglichen wurde, war man wohl in der Belegschaft sauer. Der zugesagte Ouzo auf das Haus wurde schlicht und ergreifend nicht serviert. Da wir das Delphi von früher anders kennen können wir nach diesen Erfahrungen nur ganz klar davon abraten.

Wir waren am 22.07.24 nach einem Termin dort Abends essen. Ich muss sagen sehr enttäuschend. Wir bekamen einen Tisch draussen, das war ok . Bestellt haben wir einen Rose und ein Weinschorle.... die dann ziemlich "warm" am Tisch ankamen. Dann wurde das Essen bestellt . Nach 40 Minuten habe ich dann mal nachgefragt,. Man hat uns einfach vergessen 🤷‍♀️. Nochmal Bestellung aufgenommen, kam dann auch das Essen . Bestellt hatten wir mit Pommes statt Reis . Das wurde dann vergessen 🙈. Etwas angesäuert mittlerweile hab ich dann den Kellner gerufen und gesagt ich hatte ohne Reis und mit Pommes bestellt.... der Kellner drehte sich rum ohne ein Wort und stellte dann ebenfalls ohne ein Wort Pommes hin. Muss ehrlich sagen, daß ist mir so noch nie passiert 🤷‍♀️. Wir kommen leider nicht wieder .

Wir haben das Restaurant im Schlemmerblock entdeckt und waren nun zum 2. Mal hier. Gyros, Leber, Parga-Platte und Bifteki waren sehr schmackhaft. Der Service war gut, ein ganz wenig chaotisch;-) Zum Abschluss des gemütlichen Abends gab es Uozu aufs Haus. Vielen Dank.

You should urgently update your prices! On your site it says €13.80 for a bifteki, but in reality I paid €32.50 for 2 portions. The taste was okay, but the minced meat was still red. A disappointment.

The Bifteki tasted good, but some of it was too black. Therefore, deductions in the rating and I will definitely not come back without a restaurant block....

Disaster!! We were there for the first and last time today! When we arrived we were greeted unfriendly and seated at a table. Everything was free outside and we were seated at the only table that still had empty glasses. After we got the food it started to rain. We moved around and sat on chairs that were fixed at the table. The waitress stood behind us and didn't offer us or other guests to go in. Unfortunately, the food was just as disappointing as the service. I had the fish platter, the squid tasted like rubber fries and the scampis tasted like nothing at all. Even the rice was unsalted... Luckily, there are other options for good food in Mainz. Because everyone should avoid this, even with Schlemmer Block.

Very bright since the renovation. The grilled pepperoni is the best around. The flat dishes are well put together and are reasonable for the price of around €20. One more bread basket could be served and the bread could be lightly toasted. There is also a point deduction for the salad, which could use a sauce or at least oil.

I ordered via Lieferando. I ordered fried potatoes twice for the 2 portions of bifteki, which were not delivered, and no salad was delivered with the gyros. After calling there I was told they would deliver the fried potatoes. After about 45 minutes. A portion of fried potatoes was delivered but no second. I'll now report it via Lieferando because a portion costs an extra 3.50 euros. I'm not ordering anything else for now

Inside it looks very modern and stylish. We sat outside and it's cozy and rustic there. Service and food were top. The picture shows the largest plate for one person. Lots of meat, fried potatoes and rice, all tasty and good. Sauce is TOP. Salad was a bit poor but that wasn't what I was there for. I can only recommend the restaurant.

The gyros has absolutely no taste and the typical Greek spices - the souvlaki skewers are anything but souvlaki skewers, not marinated and simply pork (ham) cut into pieces and seasoned a little and fried...the only good thing was the bifteki, which was ok reminded of Greek food 👌. Unfortunately not recommended 🙏.

Wir hatten Bifeteki Spezial und Moussaka. Beides hat hervorragend geschmeckt

Standard Grieche mit Luft nach oben. Sauber, freundliche und schnelle Bedienung. Das Essen war ok, die Portionen groß genug. Der Beilagensalat war aber nix und insgesamt viel zu teuer für das gebotene. Hunde sind erlaubt. Auch habe ich das griechische anmutenden Ambiente vermisst.

Fleich war gestern zum Teil angebrannt und trocken.selbst das Gyros war fast breiig und verbrannt.auch das sie Preise Recht angezogen haben sollte nicht unerwähnt bleiben.da hatte der Koch gestern wohl einen schlechten tag.und ich hoffe beim nächsten Mal ist es wieder besser.

Service und essen waren wirklich Top, die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Ambiente ist ganz nett, die Garderobe sieht etwas improvisiert aus, dadurch geht der griechische Charm etwas verloren. Wir kommen aber gerne wieder.

Achtung die Preise auf der Webseite stimmen überhaupt nicht mit den Preisen vor Ort übrein. Dazwischen liegen mindestens 8-10€. Für einen Gyros Teller 17.60€ zu verlangen ist unmöglich. Zu mal der Teller nur Imbiss Standard hat. Der Salat einfacher Eisbergsalat, mit einer Gurke u einer Tomaten, plus etwas Kraut.Da erwarte ich schon etwas mehr.Geschmacklich ist das Essen in Ordnung u schmeckt. Aber wie gesagt, die Preise auf der Webseite müssen dringend angepasst werden,man zahlt wirklich 40% mehr.Der Service total überfordert mit einer großen Gruppe und zu Weihnachten sowieso. Schade.

Wer sich einen Döner aus nem fertigspieß für 8€ leistet, der muss nicht beim Griechen meckern. Die Inflation hat alle getroffen. Die illusion, wenig zahlen aber viel essen- davon müssen sich einige bewertende verabschieden oder zu Hause essen. Ein Schnitzel beim Deutschen 25€ Blättern und beim Griechen meckern na Guten Hunger. Wir fanden es sehr angenehm. Servicepersonal alt eingesessen, mit dem richtigen Blick & blitzschnellen reagieren und umsetzen. Das Essen hervorragend, man schmeckt das selbstgemachte Gyros und das würzige Bifteki. Wir kommen wieder, versprochen!!!!

Wir waren dort anlässlich der Weihnachtsfeier der Firma meines Freundes. Wir waren 18 Personen und hatten einen Tisch im muffeligen Gewölbekeller. In der Nische hinter uns wurde das Toilettenpapier gelagert, die Wände sahen aus als ob sie feucht wären. Die Bedienung war hoffnungslos überfordert. Das alkoholfreie Radler, dass ich bestellt hatte, war viel zu süß. Die Portionen fürs Essen waren gut. Die Speisen selbst aber sehr lieblos angerichtet.
