A pleasant Greek restaurant in the heart of the city.

There were eight of us, and we were all stuffed and completely satisfied with the amazing quality. Some of us even saved money with a discount voucher. We had the best table in the place. We felt very comfortable and have already planned our next visit. It was a wonderful, relaxed culinary journey for all of us, simply amazing!

Got there via a discount voucher booklet. Atmosphere like a train station. Two tall people can't eat side by side. Salad oversalted. One out of three dishes arrived wrong, was taken into the kitchen, and brought back cold. Gyros and meat were dry.

As a Greek, I'm naturally a bit more discerning when it comes to Greek cuisine. But the food here really surprised me in a positive way. From the service to the appetizers, main course, and dessert, everything was impeccable. The taste truly reminded me of home – authentic, harmonious, and superbly prepared.

We spontaneously decided to have lunch there and were more than pleasantly surprised – very friendly service, delicious wine, and incredibly good food in generous portions. We will definitely be back.

Don't let the exterior put you off. Inside, it's a very nice restaurant. We had a lovely table and were served immediately. The food arrived after a short wait. The portions were generous, and the food was very good. The price was reasonable, and after paying, everyone received a complimentary ouzo.

A highlight of Greek cuisine right in the heart of Mainz... The staff are absolutely professional and friendly... the food is superb... only the toilets, which are only accessible via stairs, could be an obstacle for older people.

The food is delicious; my wife and son loved their bifteki specials, and I was equally delighted with my platter (I forgot the name 😁). The service is excellent and quick. We were completely satisfied 😊

The food was unfortunately disappointing. The grilled chicken breast fillet wasn't cooked properly, and the Metaxa sauce wasn't tasty either. The tzatziki wasn't what you'd expect from Greek cuisine—it didn't have the right consistency. The service was also poor. When paying, we should have been given ouzo, as is customary, but we weren't offered any, while other guests were.

We were here on a Tuesday evening as a couple and enjoyed the gourmet block, an appetizer platter for one person. Our special requests were accommodated, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the restaurant :)

We were there with the Schlemmerblock and made a reservation, but we were able to get a seat without one. The service was good and quick; the food arrived promptly and was very hot; we enjoyed it. The tables and chairs were more reminiscent of a fast-food restaurant. You have to be lucky to find a parking space.

A superb lunch for under 11 euros, served promptly by friendly staff. A lovely shady spot under maple trees. What more could you want? We were very impressed. We'd gladly return.

We went there for dinner today. I had a farmer's plate and I have to say, I've never had such bad Greek food. The liver was so lumpy it was inedible. I can't even tell what the minced meat was made of. Everything was swimming in fat. The rice was tasteless, and what was supposed to be tzatziki was also inedible. Where the good reviews come from is beyond me. We'll definitely never eat there again.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. We were really looking forward to the fish platter, but we were unfortunately unpleasantly surprised. Everything on the plate (calamari and fish) was completely deep-fried and absolutely tasteless. Wet fish under the breading and undercooked. The two scampi were okay, but unfortunately, there was no extra plate for the shells, so we had to put them on our regular plates. The stars go mainly to the service staff, who were quick and friendly. No vegetarian dishes! Definitely way too overpriced for this quality of food and only tolerable with the gourmet block. We probably won't be back, which is a real shame.

Das Essen im Restaurant Delphi war nach unserer Erfahrung schon mal besser. Nach einem Restaurantbesuch vor etwa einem Jahr mussten wir feststellen, dass die Qualtität nachgelassen hat. Leider war das Gericht mit Gyros-Fleisch sehr fettig (Fettstücke habe ich entfernen müssen). Steak und Souflaki, vom Fleisch kein Unterschied, waren zäh und damit schwer genießbar. Das zweite Gericht war ebenfalls mit einem zähen Stück Fleisch versehen; die dazugehörige Leber war allerdings ok. Der Beilagensalat setzte sich aus einem öligen Kraut- und nicht angemachten Eisbergsalat zusammen. Also ein Salat mit wenig schmackhaft.

Guests at the Mainz motorhome parking space. Ordered food over the phone at 7 p.m. At 8 p.m. I asked if it was coming. Answer: Driver should be there at any moment. At 9 p.m. the driver (very friendly) asks for directions... great, since I'm just visiting. Then the food arrives lukewarm. Instead of the fries we ordered, there was rice. The meat (rich) of moderate quality (lots of gristle and fat). The salad was objectively dressed with too much vinegar. Never there again, sorry.

Miserabel! Der Vorspeisenteller sollte für 1 Person sein, wurde als großer Teller für 2 abgerechnet. Hauptgericht Fisch für 20,50 € dann mit 22,50 € abgerechnet. Welcher Fisch? Serviert wurde eine frittierte Panade mit innen etwas wenigem weißem Schmierigem, das nicht mal nach Fisch schmeckte. Die ausgeschriebenen Bratkartoffeln dazu waren frittierte Kartoffelscheiben. Alles getoppt mit einer Art geschmacksneutralen „Berner“ Sauce. Optisch wäre ein Imbiss besser, geschmacklich unterirdisch und nach altem Frittieröl. Meine Tochter bestellte statt der Bratkartoffeln den sonst so geliebten roten Reis, der sich dann als Reis mit Tomatenmark entpuppte und nicht genießbar war. Das Essen ist ein Desaster. Die Reklamation nahm der Kellner so entgegen, als sei es ihm egal. Die Bedienung war schnell, es hatte alles aber den Eindruck einer Massenabfertigung. Über 72 € zum Fenster rausgeschmissen.

Hello, my husband and I went to Schlemmerblock for dinner on a Saturday evening. When asked which vegetarian main dishes they can offer, I was told that I can only choose from the starters. I ordered rice noodles with cheese gratin and saganaki as the main course, my husband ordered liver with fried potatoes and a side salad. The quality of the food was ok, the saganaki needed more heat and browning, the salad had no dressing, the fried potatoes were without spices, the rice noodles in Metaxa sauce were great. Actually there is a free main course with the gourmet block, unfortunately we didn't have this because I couldn't order a vegetarian main course and had to switch to two starters, one starter was waived. I know this differently from other Greek restaurants. Even when I asked, I wasn't offered any alternatives other than starters. No go in this day and age. Conclusion: we would no longer eat at the Delphi because vegetarians are neglected and the service was also quite unfriendly.

The ambience was ok. The service was a bit rough and seemed indifferent. The food was totally over-seasoned, it was salty and the fried potatoes I had with me were totally mushy and limp. The Metaxa sauce didn't taste good either. All in all, we won't be coming back.

I had the food delivered and unfortunately it arrived cold. I think if you get it fresh locally it's okay. But not like that, in these cardboard boxes that were soggy and the fat had already leaked out. Didn't look very appetizing.

I can't confirm the bad reviews about the Schlemmerblock. We were also there with the Schlemmerblock. The portions were more than enough, so I had half of my dish packed for me. Food was good. The side salad was a bit unimaginative and very simple. The fried potatoes could also have been crispier. I would actually have to give the service two ratings. The lady who served us was extremely friendly and accommodating. He also asked in between if everything was okay. After dinner there was an ouzo and an espresso on the house. The male waiter was a bit out of his job, very grumpy and in a bad mood. I also find the new ambience very modern and appealing and yet you know that you are still in a Greek restaurant.

According to the notice on the front door, the restaurant is open until 3 p.m. and serves hot food until 2:30 p.m. We arrived at 2:02 p.m. and were greeted by an unfriendly waiter who looked at his wristband and said, "We're only open until half past two!" We have been visiting this restaurant quite frequently for many years and nothing like this has ever happened to us. Apparently there was a change of ownership because the food wasn't quite as good as it used to be.

Very tasty food, just be careful when ordering that the right things are delivered. I've had a Bifteki delivered to me three times now instead of the Bifteki special (with Metaxa/cheese gratinated and a little more expensive), but it was always returned/delivered quickly and easily. To avoid something like that, maybe rename the Bifteki Special to Metaxa Bifteki or something like that? (The names are quite similar, which can lead to confusion)

If you let us know and it's ignored, it's a shame we pay enough for the food and you don't get everything delivered.

Food: baked potatoes- yummy, though they use the same oil over and over again, which is so unhealthy! İt makes you wonder, if they do the same with other foods. Meat: Hacksteak, grilled chicken were very delicious, Gyros didn't have much fat either - which is very important to me. İn general a lot of (bad, cheap) oil is used, also for the salads. İ care about the foods I put into my body. The place is tasty, but eating healthy is something else. PS: they have a cheap lunch menu from Monday to Friday.

Nice garden outside the premises. The decor inside is a bit outdated. Could wait for renovation. A plate of meats (lamb, chicken and pork) deliciously prepared. The restaurant was packed and yet they made room for four adults and three children. The food was good and we didn't have to wait long with the children.

Were there again for the first time in 9 years. Ambience freshly renovated inside, toilets are clean, outside not attractive. Except for one, the waitresses were very nice and polite.
